Band Lover

Evan and Randy were on a road trip to see a new favorite band that Evan discovered. Randy was just tagging along so the little Sprite won't get hurt. He knew that the smaller man could handle himself, but sometimes, Evan bit off more than he could chew and ended up getting hurt.

"I can't wait," Evan said. "Have you listened to some of their stuff besides that one song?"

"Yup," Randy replied. "Ghost Until Dawn, Death Walker, Bloodletting, Ad Nauseam, and some others, but I love O Pater."

"I like that song too." Evan looked to his friend. "Thank you for coming along."

"No problem. Man, I haven't been to a concert in ages. Might as well check these guys out."

Evan smiled broadly. "I hope that you don't mind that they're a Satanist band."

Randy shook his head. "As long as they weren't Death Metal, I'm cool with it. You know that I'm chill with a lot of things."

The smaller man nodded. "I know. I just hoped that they wouldn't freak you out or anything."

"No, Death Metal freaks me the fuck out."

Evan nodded. "Have you seen the pictures of the guys without their make-up?"

"No."

"Oh my god! They're fucking hot."

Randy nodded and smiled. His friend found every man hot and Randy would just have to agree with him.

"Check them out."

The bigger man pulled out his cell and googled. He raised his eyebrows.

"Told you," Evan said. "Jericho is so sexy."

"Who is the tall bald man?"

"That is the drummer. His name is Kane."

Randy nodded. The other men looked just as hot as the next, but Kane was definitely a looker with his mis-matched eyes and muscular frame.

"Whatcha thinking?" Evan asked as he grinned.

"I would climb Kane like a tree," Randy said.

Evan laughed.

They soon made it to the city. Since the show didn't start until 8p and they got to the city around 4, they decided that food would be in order. They stopped walked to a hamburger joint and saw that it was mostly emptied.

"That's odd," Evan said.

Randy nodded.

They got to the door and a waitress came out.

"Sorry, guys, but the place has been booked until 6," she stated.

Evan and Randy looked at each other.

"We could always go to that Italian place you like," Evan suggested.

Randy sighed. "I was actually feeling a burger, but we can go."

"I'm so sorry," she said again.

"Hey," a voice said behind them. "They came join us."

Randy and Evan turned around and looked at the tall bald man. Randy's jaw dropped a bit.

"You're Kane," Evan said.

"I am." The man nodded. "And you are?"

"I'm Evan and this is my friend, Randy."

"Hi," Randy managed.

Kane smiled and led them inside. "Hey, fellows. I got a couple of fans to join us."

Jericho looked over and spied Evan. He smiled and Evan returned one. Jericho pulled a seat for him and he took it while Randy got to sit next to Kane.

"So, you guys are in town for us, right?" a good-looking guy wearing shades asked.

"But of course they are," another guy said. He was large and seemed to take up most of the space amongst the members.

"Hey, they could be here for the burgers, Dave," the shades guy stated.

"No, we're here for you guys," Evan said. "I'm Evan and this is my friend Randy."

Randy waved at everyone.

"Well, as you know, I'm Jericho," Jericho said. "That's Kane, our drummer. This here is Dave, our bassist, JoMo, our guitarist, and our keyboard player is around here somewhere."

"Cody?" Evan asked.

"That's Stardust," a young man said as he entered dramatically.

"That's on stage," Kane said. "We have company."

The young man stared at him. "Fine." He looked at Evan. "I'm Cody."

Evan grinned.

"Oh, he's cute," Cody said. "Just your type, Jericho."

The others laughed while Evan went red. Randy tilted his head and scratched the side of his neck.

"You're mean looking," Cody said as he looked at Randy, "but awesome tattoos."

"Thanks," Randy said.

"Randy always looks mean," Evan said. "Even when he smiles."

His friend slowly turned his head to him to glare at him.

"You do," Evan said.

The band laughed.

Jericho handed Evan a menu and he and Randy shared.

"Appetizers?" Evan asked.

"Yup, haven't eaten today," Randy said.

"Why haven't you eaten?" Kane asked.

"Worked a long shift yesterday, had a meeting this morning, and hadn't had time to eat," Randy replied.

"That's not good," Dave replied.

Randy shook his head.

"It happens though," Evan said. "I hate his job. I want him to do something better while he gets to live his dream."

"And what's your dream?" Kane asked.

"I like to cook, but my passion is writing," Randy said. "I've written a couple of erotica."

"Really?" JoMo asked as he tipped his shades down to look at him. "What kind of erotica?"

"All kinds," Evan said. "A few have been published. I do love your interracial stories."

"Gay, straight, bi?" Cody asked.

"Mostly gay, but I do have some straight," Randy replied.

"Are you...gay?" Dave asked.

"Bi, but I love men more," Randy answered.

Kane smiled and nodded.

Everyone ordered and talked with each other. Jericho paid attention to Evan, well mostly his lips. He wondered how the younger man kissed and tasted. He looked over to Kane, who watched Randy as he talked about his writing process.

"We need to get going for sound check and all," Cody stated.

"We did sound check," JoMo stated.

"We still need to do another one," Kane stated as he stood up.

Randy watched him from the corner of his eyes and smiled.

The band paid for Evan's and Randy's meal and they parted ways. The two friends went to the venue and saw that there was already a line.

"At least, we got to hang out with the band," Randy said.

Evan nodded as they took a spot. He was giddy. He couldn't believe that he got to meet the band. They talked and got to know each other. Of course, they probably did that all the time.

"I saw that Jericho was checking you out," Randy said with a smile.

"What about Kane?" Evan asked.

"What about him?"

"He was checking you out a well."

Randy smirked. "What's not to check out?"

Evan laughed at his friend. He was right. Randy was a looker, but he never dated. Evan couldn't understand why. Lots of men and women went after his friend, but he would just not date anyone.

Soon, the doors opened and the crowd slowly moved into the building. Randy and Evan tried to get a good spot close to the stage, but that wasn't happening. They decided that maybe the sides would be the best. People gathered in groups and waited for the show to start.

The first band was made of two women that screamed a lot, but they rocked the house. The next band was okay, but Evan and Randy wasn't feeling it. They wanted to hear their boys.

"Man, this is so exciting," Evan shouted.

"I know," Randy said. He started to take pictures.

Evan shook his head just as the place got dark. Eerie circus music started to play. Purple lights focused on the stage and the crowd went wild. Cody or Stardust stood at the keyboards playing. He was covered in gold dust with a blue star over his face. His eyes were red as he swayed back and forth. Dave and JoMo came up from out of the stage as they played their instruments. Their faces were painted in sugar skull makeup. The beating of drums soon joined them and Kane came into view. He looked like an executioner without the mask. Jericho slithered onto the stage. His face was painted like a skull.

"Welcome my children to the dark parade," he sang. "Where all your nightmares turn into fantasies."

Evan and Randy swayed to the music and slowly made their way to the front of the stage as the night wore now. They wanted to be as close to the band as possible and hoped that the members would be able to see them.

"Beauty thriller, beauty killer, what runs through your mind when you turn good men into instruments of torture?" Jericho screamed into the mic before it erupted into flames.

Everyone cheered and wanted an encore, which they delivered.

The show soon closed and the security guards let those with backstage passes by.

"Man, I wish we got backstage passes," Evan said.

"Hey, we were being responsible adults," Randy said. "Besides, we had rent due and I would rather not be a starving writer...literally."

Evan laughed.

They stayed around for a bit as they waited for the crowd to clear. They didn't feel like pushing through the sweaty bodies of people.

"Hey, you two!"

They looked around and spotted a guard waving at them. They looked at each other and went to see what he wanted.

"The band wants to see you."

They raised an eyebrow. "What?"

"The band wants to see you."

Evan turned to Randy and gave his best puppy-dog eyes.

"Fine," he said. "I'm off tomorrow anyways."

Evan clapped and they followed the guard. There were people wondering around and talking. They came up onto a room and saw that some of the fans were hanging around the door as they listened to the band talking. The fellas came out of the room and went to a table to sign stuff. Jericho winked at Evan. The Sprite blushed.

"Wait in the room," the guard said.

The two men nodded and went inside. There was a table of snacks and drinks.

"Have what ever you like, courtesy of the band."

The men nodded and took a seat. Evan took some cookies and began to eat one.

"Really?" Randy asked. "What if it's laced?"

"Laced with what?" Evan questioned.

Randy shrugged his shoulders. "You never know with bands."

Evan stared at the cookie. "It tastes fine to me."

"All right. If you start acting funny, we're leaving."

The smaller man nodded and enjoyed his cookies. After awhile, he got tired and went to curl up beside Randy.

"Should we go ahead and go?" Randy asked.

"What? Leaving so soon?" Jericho asked as he walked it. He stared at the two and cocked an eyebrow.

"He's tired," Randy said.

Evan nodded. "I didn't get much sleep. I had class this morning and just drove straight over."

Jericho nodded and went to seat down beside Evan. Kane entered and smiled at them.

"Move your fat ass," Dave said.

The taller man rolled his eyes and took a seat across from Randy. The tattooed man smiled at him.

"Did you enjoy the show?" Jericho asked.

"It was fantastic," Evan said as he sat up. "The fire, the lighting, the scene where you're dancing with your Corpse Bride...I loved it."

Jericho smiled. "Well, I'm glad."

"So, why form this band?" Randy asked.

"We all came from failing bands," JoMo replied.

"I didn't," Cody said.

"Except for Cody," Dave said.

"We were all friends before this and we decided that this band would either make us or break us," Jericho said. "If we couldn't get to at least a third album, we would go back to our old lives."

"That being?" Evan asked.

"I was tattoo artist," Dave replied.

"An orderly," JoMo said.

"A sous chef," Cody answered.

"A music teacher," Jericho said.

"I was a Lit professor," Kane replied.

Randy snapped his head at him as well as Evan.

"Dafuq?" Randy asked.

Kane shrugged his shoulders. "What can I say? I enjoyed it, but I loved to play the drums."

"Gotta love what you do," Evan replied.

Kane nodded.

They all talked and moved the conversation to the hotel room. Kane and Randy were in their own little world while the other guys talked. Evan was in heaven. He couldn't believe that he was here with his favorite band. They were so nice and funny. They shared personal stories and memories. He hoped that it wouldn't end.

Evan looked over to Randy and Kane. They were cuddling up to each other and lightly touched one another. He blushed and looked back at the group.

Dave and JoMo went to their room for the night and Cody was curled up on the bed. Jericho smiled at Evan.

"What?" Evan asked.

"Just admiring ya," he replied.

"What's to admire?"

The blond chuckled. "Everything." He looked to his band-mate and Randy. "They look like they're enjoying themselves."

Evan peeked over and nodded. "Randy deserves it. He's been single for awhile."

"Awhile?"

Evan nodded. "We both have."

"You're not dating anyone?"

The smaller man shook his head. "I try not to get into a relationship...not after...never mind."

"What? Did your last girlfriend hurt you?"

"Boyfriend...and yes."

"Do you want me to hurt him for you?"

"What?" Evan's eyes went wide. "No...he's in jail so no worries."

Jericho nodded and moved closer. "No one should hurt you. You're just so kind and smart...and handsome."

The sprite giggled. "I'm not handsome."

"Take the fucking compliment," Randy said loudly.

Evan went red while Kane and Jericho chuckled.

"He's right, you are cute," Cody said. His phone went off and he stared at it. He smiled and left the room.

Evan watched after him.

"Don't worry about him," Kane said.

"Dave and JoMo will keep him company," Jericho replied.

Randy and Evan looked at him.

Kane laughed and Randy shivered. He started to enjoy the rumbling in larger man's chest. He smiled to himself.

"So is Cody in a relationship with one of them?" Evan asked.

"Sort of," Jericho replied.

"Yes," Kane replied. "Dave and JoMo were a couple long before Cody came along. He got his heart broken and they took him in and he'd stayed every since. Sometimes, Dave and JoMo likes to have alone time and Cody does his thing. Sometimes, Dave and Cody have their alone time. JoMo and Cody's time really consists of going to the spa and getting makeovers."

Both men nodded.

"Sounds like one of your stories, Randy," Evan replied.

His friend smirked at him.

"I'm going to the store," Jericho said as he stood up. "You want anything, Kane?"

"Mountain Dew," Kane replied as he reached for his wallet. "You want anything, Randy?"

"I would go for a Snicker bar," he said.

Kane pulled out a ten. "Drink?"

"I'm a root bear kind of guy."

"Root bear and Snickers for Randy. Mountain Dew and Crunch bar for me."

Jericho nodded. "Would you like to come with me, Evan?"

The smaller man nodded and left with the lead singer. They walked side-by-side. Jericho bumped into him every once in awhile.

"So...," Evan began.

"So..." Jericho said with a smile.

"Is there anything you want to talk about?"

Jericho shook his head. "Except to ask if you'd be willing to go out on a date with me when the tour ends."

Evan stopped in his tracks. "What?"

Jericho looked at him and nodded.

"Do-do-do you really mean that?"

Jericho nodded.

"I-I-I don't know what to say."

"Maybe...'yes'."

Evan chuckled. "I just, I mean, I don't know. We just met and, wow. You're like one of my favorite singers. This is...this is..."

"Think about it."

The smaller man nodded. "Oh, definitely."

Jericho laughed. "You're really cute."

Evan blushed.

The blond smiled. "You're even cuter when you blush."

The smaller man turned away and turned bright red.

"No, don't turn away."

Jericho moved him back to face him.

"Believe me when I say that you are very handsome."

"Thank you," Evan whispered.

Jericho grabbed his hand and they both walked to the store. They got what was needed and went back. Kane kissed Randy on the cheek when they entered.

"I see that you two have gotten cozy," Jericho replied with a smile.

Randy smiled broadly. "We should get going."

"Y'all can stay here for the night. It's really late and I," Jericho looked at Evan, "don't want y'all to get hurt."

Evan looked to Randy, who smiled and nodded.

"So how are we going to do this?" Evan asked.

"You can bunk with me," Jericho suggested. "And I'm sure that Randy wouldn't mind sleeping with Kane."

Kane wiggled his eyebrows at the other man. Randy nodded.

They talked and ate their snacks before they headed to bed. Randy and Evan didn't have toothbrushes so mouthwash would do. They washed their faces and stripped to their boxers. They stepped out into the room and were greeted to whistles and applause.

"What?" Evan asked.

"You," Jericho said.

"Randy," Kane replied.

Randy shook his head and went over to the large bald man. He slipped between the sheets and scooted closer to him.

"Hi," the tanned man said.

"Hi," Kane replied. He kissed the smaller man and held him.

Evan bit the corner of his lip as he watched Jericho lift up the blanket. The sprite shook his head and decided to take a chance. He went over and climbed into the bed. Jericho smiled and settled down.

They lowly talked and the blond made the first move. He kissed Evan, who stiffened up a bit. He soon relaxed and let the older man run his tongue over his bottom lip. They kissed for awhile until sleep came over them.

Morning came and everyone woke to a new day. They got ready for breakfast and to leave for the next city. Randy and Evan prepared to leave to go back home.

Jericho gave Evan his number and kissed him on the cheek. Kane just held Randy.

"Please, give it some thought," the blond said.

"I have," Evan replied. "I would like to go on a date with you."

Jericho smiled and kissed him once more. "Call me, text me, hell, face-time me. I really want to get to know you."

"I will."

They hugged and parted ways.

Randy drove back to their home. He was a bit sad and he knew Evan was sad as well.

"Man, that was a great concert," the slightly older man said.

The Sprite nodded.

"So?"

"So..."

"You have a date with the lead singer."

"And you're digging the drummer."

Randy nodded. "But you have a date."

"So do you."

He cheesed. "I do."

Evan looked at his friend. He had so much to say, to talk about, but he didn't know where to begin. He needed help...advice. His last relationship didn't end so well and he ended up in the hospital for attempted suicide and was diagnosed with depression. He didn't want to go into that deep dark place. His ex was in jail for attempted murder and battery.

"Go for it," Randy said.

Evan sighed.

"Don't be afraid. I feel that Chris will be different."

"You think so?"

"He's really interested in you. I could tell when we walked into the burger joint. He pulled out your chair for you."

"He did," the little man said with a smile.

They next few weeks went by like a dream. Chris kept in contact with Evan like Kane did with Randy. Both men couldn't wait to see their respected mates. Kane laid claim onto Randy when he made a surprise visit. He knew that he would be late to the show, but the band had a back-up drummer. Randy's neck and shoulders were covered in love bites and hickeys. Evan couldn't help himself and laughed at the older man.

When the tour ended, Jericho came for their date. Randy stood at the door like a protective father. Jericho had to admit that the Greek God was a bit scary when he needed to be.

"Jericho," Randy greeted.

"Randy," Chris said.

"Randy," Kane said as he stood behind his lead singer.

He winked at his boyfriend. He stepped aside to let them in.

"Evan's still getting ready," he explained. "He's a bit nervous. That being said, don't take advantage of my friend. I'll hunt you down and hurt you."

Jericho nodded as he sat down on the couch while Kane took the armchair like he owned it. Randy went to the larger man and sat on the armrest.

"So, where are you taking him?" Evan's friend asked.

"He wanted to go to that Greek place," Jericho replied.

Randy nodded. "I know that place. We went there once and haven't be able to go back. So good."

Kane ran his hand up Randy's back, which brought a smile to the younger man's face.

Evan stepped out his room and smiled at everyone. He didn't go for fancy. He donned on dark jeans with a buttoned up shirt and vest. Jericho couldn't take his eyes off the smaller man. He stood up as a smile formed.

"You look...wonderful," Jericho breathed.

Evan smiled broadly. "Thank you."

Jericho escorted the Sprite to the door.

"Have him back by midnight," Randy joked.

"Right," Jericho said.

The two walked to Jericho's car and Chris opened the door for Evan. The smaller man was impressed. None of his other dates did that for him before. He instantly knew that this date would be perfect. They drove deeper into downtown and found parking close to the restaurant.

Jericho had reservations which was a good thing. The place was full and he could see why from the great smells that weaved in the air. He couldn't wait to share and experience this new adventure with Evan. They ordered and talked. He was surprised to learn about Evan's last boyfriend and that was why he had been single for so long. Evan was a sweet guy, smart, and sexy. He just wanted nothing more than to be Evan's one and only. He hoped that Evan would feel the same.

"Hello, Evan," someone greeted.

Both men looked up.

"Jack," Evan said as he gulped.

"How are you doing?" the large man asked.

"I'm good. I'm out on a date."

Jack looked to Jericho, who smiled up at him.

"Well, I'll leave you two to your date," Jack said. "Call me."

They watched him walk to a table where a young lady waited.

"Sorry," Evan said. "One of my exes."

"Don't worry about it," Jericho said. "You're with me right here and right now."

Evan smiled and took the older man's hand into his own. They enjoyed their evening before they got back to Evan's apartment. They could hear moans and bumps from Randy's room. They chuckled and Evan led Jericho to his room.

"Do you want to?" Chris asked.

"Not really, but I would love for you to...kiss me," Evan said.

That was all that he needed to hear. He attacked Evan's lips and they both tumbled toward the bed. Soon, the attacked slowed to sweet kisses and explorations. They fell asleep in each others' arms.

Jericho woke up with a smile as he felt a hand rub against him. He licked his lips.

"What are you doing?" Chris asked.

Evan gave a nervous smile. "Just...just feeling."

The older man stared into the smaller man's eyes. "So...does that mean...you want to be my boyfriend?"

"If you would want me."

"I do." He tried to steal a kiss from Evan, but he got up from the bed.

"I have morning breath and I'm not going to kiss you until I brushed my teeth."

"I don't care," Chris said as he tried to get up.

Evan ran to the bathroom and washed out his mouth with Listerine. Chris laughed and took a the mouthwash himself. They spat it out, smiled at each other, and kissed.

The bedroom door opened.

"Are you two dating now?" Randy asked.

Evan pulled away from Chris.

"Good, then I can tell Jack to go fuck himself."

Evan watched his friend and roommate leave. He looked up at Chris.

"We can stay in bed all day if you want," Jericho said.

The smaller man nodded and drug him back to the bed.
