The night before was drilled into my mind throughout the day. I tried my best to avoid Malfoy but of course, that's hard, he's in my house and I see him all the time. He's tried to talk to me but I would just run away. Malfoy kissed me. He actually kissed me. And I like it, I wanted him to do it again. What am I supposed to do?

"Nia?"

I snapped out of my thoughts.

"What?" I asked.

Harry, Ron and Hermione were staring at me. We had come up the Hospital Wing to visit Harry. Madam Pomfrey insisted on keeping him in the Hospital Wing for the rest of the weekend.

"What do you think?" Harry asked.

"What do I think?" I asked. "Um, yeah, I agree."

"You agree?" Ron sneered. "So you agree Black should kill Harry?"

I rolled my eyes.

"Okay, obviously I wasn't listening," I said bitterly to Ron and then I turned my attention to Harry. "When is Madam Pomfrey letting you leave?"

"Tomorrow," Harry laughed. "Honestly, the three of you need to stop fighting. I'm getting tired of it."

"Yeah, me too," I sighed. "But someone won't let it go," I said glaring at Ron.

"People are saying you're friends with Malfoy," Ron said disdainfully. "Is it true?"

They all looked at me waiting for me to answer. I wasn't sure what to say. If I told them I was the would all hate me.

"No," I exaggerated. "Of course not, just because he's talking to me doesn't mean, we're friends."

Ron eyed me suspiciously as I shake my head.

"Look, can we just stop," I said to Ron. "I hate fighting with you. You're my best friend."

Ron's face softens and he smiles. "Yeah," He said scratching his head. "I'm overreacting. I'm really sorry."

"Me too," Hermione cried bringing the three of us into a hug.

"Hermione," Harry yelped.

"Sorry..." Hermione said letting go of us as we burst into laughter.

"Yeah," Ron laughed as the laughter died down. "There's no way you would be friends with that twat."

"Yeah," I said nervously, luckily they didn't catch that.

There was always a calm and peaceful setting after a big storm. The birds were chirping and the sun was shining brightly over the castle and you could still smell the wetness in the air. I wasn't sure if I made the right decision lying to the group but was else was I suppose to say? 'Yes, I'm friends with Malfoy! Oh yeah and he kissed me yesterday! Yeah, right. Ron, Harry and Hermione would be gone before I could say boggart.

It was a nice day out and there was a lot of people already outside, so I decided being outside would be better than staying inside. I head down to the Great Lake. I sit down under the tree near the lake and take in the shade.

"You always seem to be alone nowadays." I heard the sweet sound of Malfoy's voice as he comes into view and sits beside me. "So are you finally going to talk to me?"

I felt my face go scarlet red and I turn away hiding my face but Malfoy grabbed my face and pulled me toward him.

"Talk to me," he said in a whisper.

I looked longing at his soft lips but I quickly snap out of it.

"What do you want to talk?" I asked softly.

"You and me..." Malfoy trailed. "Our kiss. I know you liked it."

I smacked his hand away and said, "Oh, don't silly."

"Then why have you been avoiding me?" Malfoy asked smirking, obviously not believe my lie. "Tell me the truth."

"I am telling you the truth," I said dramatically.

"You lying..."

"No, I'm not."

"Tell me the truth."

"I did!"

"Tell me the truth."

"Oh my god, all right!" I roared. "I lied, I did-do like it."

A big grin forms on his face. His eyes growing bigger as well.

"Oh god, I hate you," I groaned.

Malfoy shook his head. "You like me, admit."

"I do," I said, finally admitting it. I tried so hard to keep it deep down. "But it's not like we can be together."

"We can try, be my girlfriend."

He caught me off guard. I thought he would ask me why but instead he says we can try. And I wanted to so badly but what my friends do if they found out.

"Think for yourself for a change," Malfoy said resting his arm on his knee. "You'll do yourself better."

"You're right," I said. "Fine, I'll be your girlfriend."

Two weeks before the end of the term, the sky lightened suddenly to a dazzling, opaline white and the muddy grounds were revealed one morning covered in glittering frost. Inside the castle, there was a buzz of Christmas in the air. Professor Flitwick, the Charms teacher, had already decorated his classroom with shimmering were all happily discussing their plans for the holidays. Ron, Hermione and I decided to remain at Hogwarts. We wanted to keep Harry company and I was worried about leaving him alone.

To everyone's delight, there was another Hogsmeade trip on the very last weekend on the term. Excitedly, Malfoy and I decided to go on a date, the problem is Ron and Hermione were going on the trip too. But Malfoy and I made a plan.

On Saturday morning of the Hogsmeade trip, we bid goodbye to Harry and followed the group down to Hogsmeade. Hogsmeade looked like a Christmas card; the little thatched cottages and shops were all covered in a layer of crisp snow; there were hollow wreaths on the doors and strings of enchanted candles hanging in the trees. That when I realised this was the first time I had ever been to Hogsmeade.

I look around for Malfoy as Ron and Hermione talked about going to Honeydukes. Finally, I spotted him looking at me with his signature smirk. I gave him a nod and turned to Crabbe and Goyle. Seconds later, those two oafs stomp over to us.

"Hey, Weaselbee," Goyle said roughly. "Do you actually have money to buy something?"

As they were bickering, I sneak away into the Three Broomsticks. It was extremely crowded, noisy, warm, and smoky. A curvy sort of woman with a pretty face was serving a bunch of rowdy warlocks up at the bar. I made my way to the back of the room where Malfoy sat small table between the window and a handsome Christmas tree, which stood next to the fireplace.

"Here," Malfoy said handing me a foaming hot tankard of something. "It's butterbeer."

I take a sip of the drink. It was the most delicious thing I'd ever tasted and it seemed to heat every bit of me from the inside.

"Wow, this is delicious!" I exclaimed and I continue to drink it deeply.

"Slowly down," Malfoy laughed sweetly. "You're gonna choke."

I smile up at him as I continue to drink.

I never thought I would be in this situation. Never thought I would be dating Draco Malfoy or even liking him. But life's not really about knowing what's going to happen. But as we continue to talk as I realised how different Malfoy is than he portrays himself to be. He was fun to be around.

A sudden breeze ruffled my hair. The door of the Three Broomsticks opened. I looked over the rim of my tankard and choked.

Harry, Ron and Hermione had just entered the pub with a flurry of snowflakes. I quickly cover Malfoy's eyes and push him toward the window.

"Nia-"

"Shhhh," I said shushing him. "Be quiet, it's Ron and Hermione, go through the window."

I let go of him as he opens the window. He turns his head to look but I quickly push him through the window. I noticed they were coming my way so I quickly climb through the window and quickly close it. And that when Malfoy and I bolted laughing as we pushed through the crowd of people.

We hid behind a building and panted, "That was fun!" I said laughing.

"I can't believe I did that," Malfoy panted. "I have never done something like that before."

"That was close!" I exclaimed. "But exciting!"

Sorry, I didn't post yesterday, but it does take some time for me to write everything out. But I'm not complaining I love this story so much. Thanks for reading and I hope you enjoyed it! - Poppy
