Morrigan paid the cabbie and watched him drive off. She turned to the manor. "So this is it?"

"Yes. Or rather, a mile until "it". We have a rather long drive way." Artemis replied, attempting to joke.

"Really funny Artemis. You should be a comedian." She said dryly. "Alright, let's get to it." She rubbed her hands together and set off to the left, following the large gate that circled the property. She looked for a convenient spot to slip through of climb over, or if necessary, crawl under. "Where's the house closest to the gate?"

"It's the same distance all the way round. No point of advantage." He told her.

She sighed. Just great. She kept walking. After a ways she found a nice area that was covered with vines. "Perfect." She grabbed a hold and pulled herself up.

"You know that as soon as you get over this wall, Spiro will see you, right?" Artemis asked.

"Yeah of course, but I got to get over the wall first." She replied. She began to pant a little bit as she pulled herself up another foot.

"When you get down, there's a growth of trees that you can hide in. You can travel back to where we started and hopefully Butler will be looking for you there." Artemis told her, trying to give whatever help he could give.

"Or I can just run for the house." She said. She reached the top.

"That's a full mile to the mansion." Artemis told her.

"Honey, I was on track team for 3 years. We went to state. I don't think I'll have a problem." Morri grinned. Then carefully, she leaped off and landed gracefully like a cat. She paused a moment to take a breath then ran for it. It's not like she felt any immediate danger, but with all the secrecy and overall weirdness that's been going on Morri felt like she shouldn't push her luck.

When she reached the mansion she paused. "Wow, you live here?" She then knocked on the door, "Hello? Yall there?"

Butler opened the door within the second. "Well that was quick."

"Expect nothing less from a Murphy." She smiled. Butler shut the door. "Artemis wants to know what's going on. Every detail."

Two heads poked out and looked into the hallway. "Morri?" She turned to look at the two little boys who sprinted forward and tackled her in a bear hug. "Morri came back! I told you she wouldn't just leave without saying goodbye!"

Morri looked up to Butler, "Who..?"

These are my little brothers, Miles and Beckett. When you were here you were a bit like their nanny. But they loved you. You were really great with them. Artemis told her.

I don't remember these kids at all. Morrigan replied, feeling really bad about it.

Well, don't let them know that. Artemis told her. Morrigan completely understood, it would break their little hearts if they loved her as much as he said they did.

"Hi boys!" She greeted, awkwardly hugging them back. "How's it been hanging?"

"Arty is sick." Miles told her.

"Oh, I know. He told me to tell you Hi." She smiled at them kindly.

"Really?" He asked.

"Really." She said.

Butler brushed the boys aside and helped Morrigan up. "Go to the study, I'll just put these boys to their room." He said, taking the twins by their hands and leading them away.

Morri slowly walked up the stairs, not knowing where exactly she was heading. She opened the first door on her right. Closet. She tried the door across. A bedroom.

He said the study, not my bedroom. Artemis said irritatedly.

I don't know where that is! She replied to him. You're very neat though, aren't you. Artemis's room looked like a hotel room, clean and neat and not personal at all.

You have no sense of boundaries at all, do you? Artemis mentally rolled his eyes.

Coming from the dude who is basically inhabiting my head. Morrigan replied. She turned to leave and bumped into Butler. "Whoops."

"I said the study."

"I didn't know where that was." She answered.

Butler scrunched his brow, "You don't remember anything that happened while you were here still?"

Morri shook her head, "Nope."

Butler remembered when he had been mindwiped. Artemis had filmed a video explaining everything of their adventures. That had been the only thing strong enough to remind him of the truth. The only way Morrigan was going to remember anything of what happened is if she had a really strong motivator. "This way." He led her to the study. As soon as she sat down Butler explained everything to Artemis, from when he was put into the coma down to right before Morrigan arrived.

"Why can't you just beat up the guy? Didn't you say that he was on the property?" Morrigan asked.

"We don't know what we're dealing with yet. Believe me, I'd like to run out there guns blazing and just shoot him up but, no." Butler sadly answered.

He must be so depressed. Morri thought wryly. "So what do we do now?"

"Well I was hoping that you'd think of something. Er- of Artemis would, since you can ...hear him..?" The words felt wrong on Butler's tongue. That just sounded ridiculous.

I hoped I would too. Artemis replied, But I can't think of a thing.

Morrigan kept that to herself.

"Ahh! We have a visitor!" A loud voice boomed from the intercom.

"What the hell is that?!" Morri asked. Butler jumped up on high alert, his eyes darted everywhere, "Spiro." He breathed.

"How adorable! The fearsome Butler of the Fowl family has called for help from a teenage girl!" He laughed bemusedly, "How pathetic."

Butler took Morrigan's hand, "Come here. Quick." He pulled her down the hall and into the boys' room. "Stay here, if you see anyone, shoot." He handed the girl a pistol.

"What the hell?!" She exclaimed, "Where are you going?!" But he didn't stop. He shut the door and tapped in the code to seal it shut.
