Patricia's P.O.V.

Beep! Beep! Beep!

I jumped out of my slumber and lazily stuck out my arm, trying to turn off the alarm. It continued to beep until I groaned and raised my head and pounded the snooze button with my fist. It crashed to the ground and went silent. I lied back down, relieved and started to drift back to sleep when suddenly I felt someone poking at me agressively.

"Go away," I moaned.

"Get up," Prue hissed. I ignored her and attempted to go back asleep when she picked up a pillow and started to hit me over the head with it. "Get up!"

"But I don't want to," I whined. I just wanted to sleep, was that too much to ask?

"We have school and I don't want to be late," Prue said as she started shaking me again.

"Then go without me," I mumbled.

"Patricia Halliwell, get your ass up right now-" I gave up, knowing she'd never leave me alone.

"Okay! Okay! I'm up!" I let out a yawn as I headed into the bathroom to get ready. A half an hour later I bounced down the stairs and grabbed my backpack.

"How are we getting to school?" I asked Piper. She didn't reply but instead had her nose buried in a book.

"Andy's giving us a ride," Prue replied.

Where is my binder? I thought to myself as I started searching my backpack. Out of the corner of my eye I saw Prue get up and move to the seat beside me. Not knowing what she wanted, I ignored her and continued to look through my backpack although I no longer had reason to. After a good thirty seconds, I snuck a look at her and found her looking at me, as if she wanted to say something.

"Is there a problem?" I asked, growing uncomfortable from her constant staring.

"Can I try something on you?" Prue asked quickly.

"No, Prue it's not necessary-" I started to get up when she stopped me.

"It's only a bit of make-up, it won't kill you."

"I don't do make-up-"

"Shhh." Prue started playing with my hair and squinted in concentration. "Ugh, your hair's a mess!"

"It's not that bad!" I protested as I blushed from embarrassment. Did I really look that bad?

"This isn't working, come on, we're going upstairs." She started pushing me out of the kitchen.

"But...what about..." I looked to Piper for help but she was buried in her book. "Piper!" I hissed. She waved her hand as if to dismiss me and Prue grabbed my arm, dragging me upstairs.

"I don't want a make-over," I complained.

"I told you, I know what I'm doing," Prue replied as she picked up the hair iron.

...

HONK!

"Andy's here!" Piper announced about fifteen minutes later.

"Good," Prue replied. She put everything away and smiled in satisfaction before handing me a mirror. My jaw nearly dropped when I saw my reflection. I looked... decent. My green eyes seemed sharper and more intense while my hair was no longer lifeless.

"What did you do?" I breathed, looking at my sister in confusion. She beamed proudly and I slowly raised my hand and touched my wavy hair. Everything at that moment looked surreal and I took a deep breath before slowly putting down the mirror.

"Now you look like my sister," Prue teased. Someone lightly knocked on the door and Prue opened it. Piper stood behind it, the giant book still covering most of her face.

"Piper, stop it, you look fine," my older sister said with a roll of her eyes.

"No I don't," Piper whined. Prue gently took the book from Piper and gave her the mirror I had previously used.

"Look into this mirror for a minute," she said. Piper shook her head and tried to give it back but Prue pushed it into her hands.

"You look amazing," she complimented. Piper eventually shrugged and Prue looked at me pointedly.

"You look like a model," I said honestly.

"Seriously?" Piper asked, a bit off-guard from my comment.

"Yeah totally," I replied with a wave of my hand.

Looks like I wasn't the only one dragged into this.

Prue walked over to Piper and took off her glasses. "I thought I told you to get rid of these."

"This is my favorite pair," Piper whined.

"No, you don't need them," Prue scolded.

"But-"

"You have contacts, I gave you contacts." She slipped the glasses into her bag."You can have it back at the end of the day."

Piper rolled her eyes and sighed before going downstairs.

"Why are you suddenly giving us make-overs?" I asked Prue.

"We're going back to that God-forsaken school, we might as well look good doing it," she replied with a shrug. "Now go on, Andy's waiting." I went downstairs to grab my backpack and headed outside.

"Hi Patricia," Andy said. I mumbled a greeting and slid to the backseat next to Piper.

"So, are you excited?" I asked, playfully nudging her.

"Why would I be?" Piper asked. "It's not like we have anything to look forward to."

"You look awesome, isn't that something to look forward to?"

"Why does it matter? It's not going to change anything."

"Do you want things to change?" I asked. Piper only shrugged and rested her head on the window.

"My head hurts," she complained.

"Gee Piper, the day just started, can you at least pretend to be happy?" Piper forced a smile and I started to say something when Prue hopped into the car.

"Do you mind stopping at the café on the way to school?" Prue asked Andy.

"Yeah, sure." I pulled my backpack on my lap and took out a book that I was currently reading in my English class. I cracked open the book and started reading when Piper tapped my shoulder.

"Yes?"

"Do you have a mirror?"

"Piper, when do I ever have a mirror?" I replied with a smile. She only shrugged and leaned forward to tap Prue. I looked out the window and saw a flash of gray in the corner of my eye. I turned quickly but whatever I had seen was gone. I started to say something when the car came to a sudden halt, causing me to slam my head on the seat in front of me.

"Oh my God," Prue breathed. I moaned and gingerly touched my nose. A small drop of blood appeared and I swore.

"Are you guys okay?" Andy called. Piper only nodded slightly, too terrified to speak.

"We're fine," I said, wincing as my nose started to throb. "What the hell was that?"

"It was just a wild animal," Andy decided as he slowly started the car forward.

"Yeah, but wild animals aren't really seen around here, are they?" At this point I was growing more confused.

"I don't know, do I look like Wikipedia to you?" Prue said. I rolled my eyes and touched my nose once again.

"Is it bad?" I asked Piper. She shook her head and handed me a tissue. A few minutes later Andy pulled up to the parking lot and I hopped out and made a beeline for the bathroom inside. At this point I was no longer bleeding and there didn't seem to be much swelling at all. The door opened and a girl that looked to be around my age went to the mirror next to me and started putting on make-up. She looked vaguely familiar but I didn't know why. I shrugged it off and started to leave when she suddenly started to hum. The song, like the girl, was familiar but I was unable to tell why. I suddenly stopped in my tracks as a wave of recognition washed over me.

Mom used to sing that song to us.

And just like that I wanted to be two again, to sit on her lap and fall asleep, knowing that she'd be there when I woke up.

The girl saw me staring at her and gave a friendly smile as she continued to put on make-up. Unable to stay in that room any longer, I slowly backed away until I bumped into the door and stumbled outside.

"There you are," Prue said as she pulled up a chair next to her. "I ordered you a muffin, is that okay?"

I only nodded and took the cup of coffee that was in front of her and took a sip.

"This was on the table when we got here," Prue announced. I immediately did a spit-take and grabbed a water bottle from my backpack and chugged it down, trying to get rid of the bitter taste and God knows what else was in it.

Prue smirked before she took it from the table and casually sipped it. "Gotcha," she said with a wink. I stared at her in disbelief before punching her in the arm.

"That's what happens when you touch my coffee," she said with a devious grin.

"That was so cruel," I said.

"Are you two fighting again?" Piper asked as she joined us at the table, passing me my muffin in a paper bag.

"She's evil," I replied, pointing to Prue.

"Oh like you aren't," Prue shot back childishly.

"I don't even want to know," Piper decided. She looked behind her and leaned forward, her voice becoming hushed. We took the hint and leaned forward as well. "I feel like everyone's staring at me," she admitted.

"They probably are," I replied as I leaned back in my chair.

Piper's eyes grew a little wider and she sat up and threw another look around. "I don't like it," she complained.

"You look great," Prue assured her. "You'll be fine."

"Yeah, they'll get over the shock eventually," I added. Prue kicked me underneath the table and I yelped in surprise. Piper looked at me in confusion and I attempted to cover it with a cough. Prue looked at her watch and jumped up suddenly, scaring Piper and me.

"We're gonna be so late," she moaned as she grabbed her bag and walked towards Andy. At that moment, the door to the cafè swung open and the once lively atmosphere turned to a deadly silence. Looking up, I immediately saw why; standing in the doorway was David, looking more menacing than before. Prue froze in her spot as he started for her, a look of determination crossing his face. I stood up and made a beeline for my older sister with Piper not far behind. Unfortunately, I wasn't fast enough and David made it to Prue before I did.

"Prue," David breathed. Prue didn't say a word but only stared at him, emotionless.

"David," she finally said. He took a step forward and attempted to kiss her but she slinked away.

"Prue, you can't still be mad at me," David said, astonished.

"I'm not, I just need some space," she whispered. David gently stroked her arm and Prue flinched slightly before stepping away from him again.

"Please don't do this here," she said softly, her eyes flickering to the people around her. They stared at David in a combination fear and awe and was listening intently.

"Then let's talk outside," David pleaded. Growing diagusted at him, I stepped forward and linked my arm through Prue's, giving David a nasty glare.

"Come on Prue it's getting a little crowded don't you think?" I asked with a pointed look at the teenager in front of her. David started to say something but Prue turned away from him and marched outside. The wind was starting to pick up and I attempted to push loose strands of hair from my eyes. Prue took a deep breath before she turned towards me.

"Why did you do that?" she asked. I stared at her, perplexed.

"What do you mean?"

"I could've handled this myself, I didn't need your help," Prue snapped, her voice growing hysterical. It suddenly dawned on me that Prue was still afraid of him.

"I'm sorry," I said. She bit her bottom lip and looked off into the distance for a few moments before running a hand through her hair.

"It's fine." She smiled at me. "Thanks for sticking up for me."

Piper strolled out of the cafè and practically ran over to us with Andy not that far behind.

"What'd you guys do?" she asked. "He just went off and started yelling at everyone in there."

"Are you okay?" Andy asked softly, going to Prue's side. She nodded and gave a small smile before going to the car. Andy gave me a pointed look but I only shrugged and followed her. The ride to school was mostly quiet and as soon as we pulled into the parking lot, I wanted to turn around and make my way home. Missy Robinson walked towards Andy's car, a smug smile on her face.

"Ugh," Prue said, turning away from her.

"Hi Andy," she purred as she leaned on his car. She immediately saw Prue and stopped short.

"Oh, hello Prue," she said, clearly surprised.

"Missy," she replied shortly. Missy glanced at Piper and her eyes nearly fell out of her head. She bit her bottom lip and gave a a sly smile.

"Where are your glasses four-eyes?" Prue glared at Missy and she smirked in satisfaction as Piper shifted in her seat uncomfortably.

"At least she doesn't look like a whore," I replied with a pointed look at Missy.

"I'd rather look lIke a whore than an ugly freak."

"You are an ugly freak," Piper said softly. Everyone turned to Piper, astonished.

"Oh look, it talks," Missy said mockingly. "Say something else Piper, we all care to hear what you have to say."

Piper didn't reply and I got out the car, swinging my backpack over my shoulder and glaring at Missy.

"Just leave her alone," I snapped.

"Don't tell me what to do Freshman," she growled.

"What is that, some type of insult?" I said mockingly.

"I can make your life a miserable hell-"

"And I can do the same for you," Prue stated as she came to my side. Missy glared daggers at me but eventually stormed off.

"Someone's one their period," Piper mumbled and I giggled while Prue smirked. We made our way to the front of the school and I stopped short as I saw Alex and Lexie standing under a tree. Lexie was giggling and started running her hand through her hair before she started batting her eyelashes. I took a deep breath and started playing with my hands nervously, wanting to go over there but knowing that if I did, it wouldn't end well. Piper came up behind me and saw what I was looking at.

"I can't stand her," I said to nobody in particular. Piper looked at me for a few moments and grabbed my hand.

"Come on, let's go inside," she decided. I started to follow her but suddenly changed my mind.

"No," I said sharply. "I'm not going to just stand here and let her treat me like crap, I refuse." With that I stormed over to Alex and crossed my arms.

"Patricia what are you doing?" Piper asked me as she struggled to keep the same pace.

"Hi Alex," I said as I glared daggers at the both of them. Lexie smiled victoriously while Alex looked... relieved?

"Hi Patricia," he said as he took a step towards me. Lexie held him back and grabbed his hand.

"Where are you going?" she demanded.

"Let go of me," Alex snapped as he roughly pulled away from her.

"What is wrong with you?" Lexie said sharply.

"I was about to ask you the same thing," I replied as I took forward and took Alex's hand.

"Oh please," Lexie said with a smirk. "You guys aren't going to last a month."

"Wow, you must be beyond pathetic to have to put all your energy into splitting us up," I said with a smirk.

"You're nothing," she hissed as she took a step forward. "You're never going to be good enough for anyone, not Alex, not your family, NOBODY. And you know what? I can't blame anyone for ditching you, I would've done the same thing."

"Lexie, just lay off okay? This is getting ridiculous," Alex snapped. "Come on, let's go."

I was frozen in my spot, glaring at her as she stepped forward and looked me dead in the eye. "You're just a charity case, an soon enough, nobody's going to give a shit about you." she finally said. "It must suck to be unwanted."

I stared at her as she started to smile deviously. In a flash of anger, I suddenly struck out and slapped her across the face. She stumbled backward before suddenly lunging at me, knocking me to the ground. Alex grabbed her by the waist and pulled her off of me.

"Don't touch me!" she screeched.

I struggled to catch my breath and it took me a few seconds before realized that Piper was talking to me.

"Are you okay?" she repeated as she helped me up. I didn't reply and only glared daggers at Lexie. She narrowed her eyes at me and started to say something when she suddenly paused. Without warning, she dropped to the ground and let out a blood-curling scream. Alex's eyes grew wide and he took a step forward and reached out to gently touch her shoulder but she started screaming again. A crowd started to gather around us and I looked around, trying to think of what to do.

"I'm going to call an ambulance," Piper announced.

"Wait, don't-" I started but she already disappeared into the crowd. I stared at Lexie who was still crumpled on the ground, moaning in pain. Prue made her way to the front and I ran over to her, not knowing what to say.

"What happened?" she demanded. I shrugged and she pulled me in a hug, sensing my terror. Piper came back a few seconds later with a few teachers and by now Lexie was curled in a ball, screaming every few seconds. Missy was holding her and her eyes narrowed as she saw me.

Lexie suddenly sat up and looked around, clearly confused.

"What happened?" she asked. Missy looked at her, then at me. "I'm serious," Lexie said. "Why are you guys giving me that look?"

...

"Tell me once again what happened," The principal insisted as he sat forward in his seat.

"I told you, we got in an argument and then she went crazy and started screaming bloody murder," I repeated for what must've been the 30th time.

"Why were you arguing?"

"Because she loves to argue," I replied. He took off his black-rimmed glasses and pinched the bridge of his nose, clearly distressed.

"Patricia, you're not in trouble-"

"You could've fooled me," I shot back as I glared at him.

"You know as well as I do that this little argument of yours wasn't a reasonable one, was it?"

"Depends on what you mean by reasonable."

He stared at me for a few moments before taking out a marble that sat in a jar in the middle of his desk. "Did you, or did you not hit her?"

"She wasn't the one tackled to the ground," I snapped, growing annoyed by his constant questioning.

It's the murder investigation all over again.

"That doesn't answer my question," he said calmly. I didn't reply but instead looked around his office. It wasn't too small, but wasn't by any means big. It only had enough room for the desk and few chairs that it held. To my left was a mirror that was currently directing the sunlight from outside directly into my eyes. One hand covered the left side of my face to avoid being completely blinded while the other tapped nervously on my thigh.

"Can you pull down a shade or something?" I pleaded.

"No," he said.

I looked at his Masters Degree that was nailed into the wall. Barthélémy Deasún Kava. How do you even pronounce a name like that? I wondered to myself.

"Look Dr.- I mean Mr. Kava. I can't keep answering questions as long as the sun in frying my brain." Mr. Kava was a middle-aged man who was a mix of every race imaginable He seems like a cold man at first, but after a few minutes, you quickly realize that he is a good man. Except for some times when he can be extremely aggravating. Like now, for example.

"I'm not letting you leave until you answer my question," he said sharply. "Did you, or did you not physically harm Lexie in any way?"

"Yes!" I snapped. "Yes! I did! Is that what you wanted to hear?"

"Do you have any idea how much trouble you're in?"

"Don't give me that bull. I had nothing to do with her freak-out." I got to my feet and started for the door.

"Stop that," he snapped. "Sit down, we're not finished talking."

"No, you know what, she got what she deserved! I didn't do this to her to hurt her but she deserves it. She's a monster but you're too concerned to see that. I haven't done anything bad to her and I refuse to stand here and be accused." I felt myself begin to blush furiously and I started for the door when Mr. Kava stopped me. I crossed my arms before sitting back down.

"I'm very disappointed in you," he scolded. His phone suddenly rang, preventing him from saying anything else. I grabbed my backpack and smirked as he turned away from me. Making as little noise as possible, I slowly inched towards the door.

"Hey, stop right there!" he shouted, placing his hand over the speaker. I didn't reply but only waved at him before slamming the door shut.
