Dead, Gone or Alive? Part 28
Dick woke late the next morning, he was in a really warm and cozy bed. Opening his eyes, Dick stared straight ahead, not recognizing the place for a second, Dick soon knew that it was Bruce's room. Turning over, Bruce was sleeping next to him. Over in the far corner, Alfred was asleep in the chair. Dick giggled seeing the two fast asleep at such a late time in the morning, pulling himself out of the bed. Dick wandered off to his own room. Changing his clothes, Dick returned to Bruce's room. He smiled at his family, sitting on the bed, Dick leant against the headband and just sat and thought about everything. He didn't remember much at all, one of the things he did remember was the fact that he had kissed Joker. He remembered the taste of Joker's mouth on his; it made him feel so sick just thinking about it. Leaning over the edge of the bed, Dick threw up the contents of his stomach. Alfred and Bruce jumped away, seeing Dick Alfred moved to see the vomit at the side of the bed, Bruce hugged Dick to his chest.
"Are you okay?" Bruce questioned, waiting for an answer.
"I kissed Joker, it doesn't sit well with my stomach or my mind," Dick told Bruce, a smile graced Bruce's and Alfred's lips.
"It's okay, it will never happen again," Alfred firmly told Dick.
"No way am I ever kissing him again," Dick replied, he felt so much better resting in his father's arms.
Alfred, Bruce and Dick were in the kitchen, they were cooking breakfast. Dick watched as Alfred and Alfred tried to work in the kitchen together and failed miserably. Very quickly Bruce was told to go sit down next to Dick, Alfred cooked the breakfast while the three of them chatted quietly. Dick laughed, causing Alfred and Bruce to laugh as well. Before Dick started his breakfast, Alfred read the instructions for the medication that Dick needed, then gave the bottle to Bruce to read. Agreeing with what the instructions were saying, Dick was giving a small white tablet, swallowing the tablet, Dick opened his mouth to show that it was gone. Holding Bruce's hand as they ate breakfast, Dick felt so happy and so loved. Bruce and Alfred thought about how truly lucky they were to have Dick in their family. All of them had content faces, smiling at how lucky they all were safe, well and together forever.
"You are never leaving my side again," Bruce told Dick.
"I don't ever plan to," Dick replied, smiling up at his dad.
"Good, because it's never happening," Bruce said, a smile on his face.
