Author's note: I haven't updated for a while because well, I lost the file I had for this chapter so I had to start from scratch and also for the reason that I just really didn't know if people were appreciating my efforts to finish this story. I did get notifications that people had favorited and followed this story but nothing that really motivated me to write this instead of spending time playing games on Steam, watching anime, or reading manga. Then a couple days ago, I got a review that was just a simple request to continue the story because he just wanted to read more which revived my motivation so here I am, updating this story after 7 months. For this chapter, I'm going to try something new. I am dividing this chapter into parts to make things flow better.

Part 1 – A Hero Uncertain of His Future

In the ruins of a fortress nearby Dragon's table, the Shepherds had made camp. They knew that they could not have chased after Grima so they tried to regain their strength after a good night's rest. However, not one of the Shepherds was having a good night's rest.

"That could have been me. That could have been my future." Robin, sitting down on a piece of rubble, stared at the intimidating silhouette of Grima as it flew off into the horizon. "Now, I understand why Lucina wanted to end my life. I wouldn't blame her if I had met that dragon face-to-face as well. I don't think I have ever felt so powerless and hopeless before. Gangrel, Walhart, Validar…They all pale in comparison to a Calamity that even the legendary heroes couldn't defeat." Even after Grima was no longer in view, Robin just stared at the horizon. "All the plans that I made were they all…meaningless?" He flipped through page after page of the book he had written countless strategies in and then threw the book to the ground.

"They weren't."

Startled, Robin quickly stood up and unsheathed the silver sword hanging at his belt. He turned around only to realize that the source of the voice was none other than his wife, Olivia. "I thought I said I wanted to be alone." Robin put his silver sword back into its sheath and sighed heavily.

"You did but what kind of wife would I be if I didn't worry about my husband?" Olivia smiled gently.

"...How long have you been standing there?" Robin did not want to admit that what she was saying was completely logical as he was in a foul mood.

"Since you sat down. Is there perhaps a reason why you are looking so distraught even though we have a way to defeat Grima?" Olivia obviously knew that Robin was troubled but just wanted to get him to talk about it.

"I don't even think that makes for what I did or what I already did in Lucina's future."

"Robin, that Robin is not the same person as you!"

"How can you say that? We have the same face, same strategies, and the same memories."

"That's not true. The moment that Lucina came into our time, she changed the course of history. The life that you lived is different from the life that the other Robin lived."

"How would you know that?"

"I've spent a lot of time talking with Crystal during her dancing lessons. That Robin did not have the knowledge that you do now. You are living in a situation that the other Robin did not live through. Your job as a tactician is to make a plan to make the best result of an uncertain situation."

"….Every time I doubt myself, you're the one who pulls me back up. You're right. You're absolutely right."

"The one phrase every wife loves hearing from her husband." Olivia smiled teasingly.

Robin picked up the strategy book he threw on the ground earlier. "You know what I'm going to say, don't you?"

"Of course I do."

"It's time…to tip the scales!"

Part 2 – Mount Prism, The land blessed by Naga

The next day the Shepherds arrived at Mount Prism. There were meadows and flowers in bloom everywhere. An amazing sight that brought the phrase 'paradise' to mind.

"This is amazing. To think such a place exists in such a time of chaos." Robin took in a deep breath of the fresh air.

"The Divine Dragon's power flows through every blade of grass here. It's breathtaking." Lucina smiled.

"Indeed. It makes one forgot about their troubles, even the fact that they existed in the first place." Frederick looked around awestruck. "…And there is no pebbles for Milord to slip on."

"…He's definitely more excited about the second thing that he mentioned." Lissa sighed.

"Something doesn't feel right." Chrom looked around.

"Nngh!" Robin yelled in pain as he knelt down.

"What's wrong?" Olivia placed her hand on his shoulder.

"Grima has sent servants here. I can sense it. Prepare for battle." Robin stood up as he held his head in pain.

A few moments later, Risen began flooding the beautiful scenery of Mount Prism.

"How could Risen infiltrate this sacred place?" Lucina gritted her teeth in frustration.

"Their power must be linked to Grima's. We must destroy them." Chrom unsheathed Falchion and spun it around with one hand and went into a ready stance.

Part 3 – The Guardian of Mount Prism

The Shepherds were being overwhelmed by the Risen not just by their sheer numbers but also the fact that they were Risen strengthened by Grima's power, the same power that let them enter into Mount Prism. Chrom and Lucina were fighting with their backs facing one another to cover any blind spots. A good strategy but useless against overwhelming numbers.

"I can't fall here! Not after everything I've gone through!" Lucina continued to attack her enemies even though she was clearly at her limit. A Risen Berserker caught her off guard while she was attacking another Risen and Chrom was already occupied with a Risen Hero. Lucina couldn't risk dodge the blow otherwise her father would be injured in her stead and her sword was already defending a blow from another Risen so she could not move her Falchion to block the attack. She prepared herself to receive a fatal wound from the Risen but then the Risen suddenly stopped because of an explosion of Dark magic that hit the Risen in his back. Lucina was baffled about who casted the spell but first she parried the attack from the other Risen and slashed him across the chest. She then stabbed her sword through the Risen Berserker's chest. The Risen Berserker fell on the ground and evaporated into dark mist.

"This spell…Grima's Truth, it couldn't be Validar!?" Lucina looked around for Validar but saw no signs of him. Another thing caught her eye, a figure wearing a cloak with the hood covering their face. The cloak had the same grimleal markings as Robin's did but instead the marking were gold and the cloak was dark blue instead of black. "Who is that? Another enemy?"

"Don't let your guard down, Lucina."

The figure put away one tome and pulled out another. She then fired five Arcthunder spells. The lightning bolts flew through the air at an incredible speed. Lucina barely had any time to defend herself. She made the quick decision to push her father to the ground in order to protect him. She saw the attacks fly past her as she looked up from the ground. She only counted three magic shots but she surmised that the two other magic shots were also long gone based off of how fast she saw them moving. She stood up to find that the Risen that her and her father were just engaged in combat with had the black lightning bolts through their chest. The Risen all fell to the ground simultaneously and then evaporated.

"Do you intend to cause harm upon this place?" The figure said as it approached them.

Lucina and Chrom were in awe of the accuracy of the magic blasts. The Risen that they were fighting with were stronger than regular Risen and even a regular Risen needs at least two strong attacks to defeat even with some of the strongest attacks and special skills.

"If you don't answer me, I'll have no choice but to assume that you are intruders that intend to harm this sacred ground." The figure said as it continued to approach them. The voice sounded like it belonged to a woman but it did not sound like it belonged to anyone they had crossed paths with before.

"We have no intentions to cause any harm to this place. We came here to ask Naga for her help in defeating Grima."

The figure removed their hood revealing their face. The figure was female as her voice suggested earlier. She had black hair tied up in a ponytail and bangs that went down to her shoulders. She didn't look much older than Chrom or Lucina.

"Hmmm…..the Brand of the Exalt and the Fire Emblem. I don't see how you can fake either one of those objects in your possession. I will believe your story."

"Who are you?" Chrom still wary of the person who took out the Risen who nearly claimed their lives in a matter of mere seconds.

"I am…a guardian of Mount Prism, you could say… That's not important now. Are the other intruders of this place your allies?"

"Ah…Yes they are. The ones without the murderous eyes and are still sane." Chrom laughed nervously.

"I see. We should help them immediately."

"You're right. Let's go."

Part 4 – A Close Call

Robin was fighting alongside his wife, Olivia, and their children, Inigo, Crystal, and Morgan. Each of them were fighting separate from one another, struggling to deal with the overwhelming numbers.

Two Risen were approaching Robin, a sage from the left and a swordsmaster from the right. Robin made the choice to take care of the sage first since it was a long-ranged attacker as well as a close-ranged attacker. First, Robin hit the swordsmaster with an Arcthunder to slow the swordsmaster down so that he could have enough time to handle the Sage. A sage was low in physical defense so he decided to attack it with his blade and began charging towards it with his steel sword unsheathed. When the Sage realized Robin's plan, it stopped running towards Robin and started casting back-to-back Arcfire spells directed at Robin. Robin dodged the Arcfire attacks with ease due to the harsh swordsmanship training with Lon'qu. Lon'qu was not much of a teacher but he did manage to sharpen Robin's reaction time. Robin finally made it within striking range of the Sage and sliced the Sage, leaving a cut from the Sage's lower left stomach to his right shoulderblade. The Risen Sage let out a bloodcurdling screech as it faded into dark mist. Robin quickly turned around to see just how far away the Risen swordsmaster was from him. Robin couldn't believe his eyes when he saw that the Risen swordsmaster was no more than ten feet away from him.

"How'd he get here so quickly? Did I misjudge his running speed? No, that couldn't be it. That swordsmaster must have the vantage ability. That explains the sudden increase in speed!" Robin knew that he did not have enough time to raise his blade to defend against the swordsmaster's attack. He sidestepped to the left to try and avoid the attack but he still received a cut on his right forearm. As a result of the pain from the attack, he fell to the ground. The Risen swordsmaster raised his blade above his head in preparation to deliver the finishing blow. He raised his right arm in an attempt to cast an arcthunder spell to stop the attack but his right arm was in too much pain for him to aim the spell properly. He prepared himself for the worst when suddenly black lightning struck the swordsmaster in the face which finished off the swordsmaster. Still lying on his back from the swordsmaster attack, Robin looked in the direction of the black lightning and saw a woman with black hair standing with Chrom and Lucina.

Chrom and Lucina ran to help Robin because in his current state, he could not hold a blade or aim magic. Lucina began engaging the Risen who were heading towards Robin while Chrom put Robin's uninjured arm around his neck and lifted him to his feet

"You can trust her, Robin. She's the guardian of Mount Prism."

"A Grimleal as the guardian of Naga's territory?"

"I'm as confused as you are but right now, we need to focus on the enemy in front of us."

Part 5 – Moving forward

After the Risen were all defeated, Robin and Chrom decided to talk with the 'Guardian of Mount Prism' because they were baffled by the existence of the 'guardian' of Mount Prism.

"Could you explain the situation here? Who are you? What are you doing here?" Chrom was suspicious of any Plegian that he did not know personally. It was completely understandable why he was. Who could blame him? He had lost his older sister with the first war with Plegia and almost lost his own life in the second. He and the rest of the Shepherds were also currently in a war with Grima which meant that the Grimleal, the followers of Grima, were also their enemies.

"…I could ask you the same thing. You're intruding on Naga's territory after all." She sighed in response to the hostility that Chrom wasn't even trying to hide.

Chrom could only grit his teeth in response to her extremely accurate statement.

"Well, how do we know you really are who you say you are? I find the fact that you're a Guardian of Mount Prism to be very hard to believe. You dress more like a grimleal." Robin stepped in to try and turn this debate around in their favour.

"I don't deny that. These clothes are a memento of my past since I was once one of the Grimleal. I decided to cut all ties with them and escape them. I managed to evade them for a year when they found me, they tried to end my life. I managed to end up here at Mount Prism and Naga made me an offer. She offered to save my life and in exchange, I guard her territory while she is asleep."

"That's a bit hard to believe"

"I don't blame you for not believing me. I wouldn't have believed me."

"Do you have any means to proving your identity to us?"

"I do have a little trick up my sleeve for doing that, actually. Hold out your right hand."

"Okay?" Robin hesitantly did what she asked. He lifted up his arm that had been wounded in the battle with the Risen. His blood was stained all over his right hand, making his hand look completely red. She held her hand above his and closed her eyes. Immediately after, Robin's hand was surrounded by a bright white light. Robin closed his eyes in response to the bright light. He opened his eyes to see that the wound was completely gone and even the bloodstain on his hand was gone like it had never happened.

"What was that!? Magic without the use of a tome or a stave?"

"That was a unique spell granted to me by Naga, Chronorevir. It can reverse time on an object, returning it to a state once past."

"Amazing! I can't even see any sign of it. Usually with staves, you will still have a scar even after the healing." Robin turned around his right hand and looked at it in amazement.

"That mark on your hand! What's your name!?" The Guardian took two steps away from Robin when she saw the symbol on his hand.

Robin realized what she was so rattled about-the mark on his hand. The mark was a symbol that he was worthy to inherit Grima's power. Since she was most likely from Plegia, it would make sense that she would be startled by the symbol on his right hand.

"Oh right, I suppose we haven't gone through proper introductions yet. I'm Robin, the tactician of the Shepherds."

"Robin? As in Validar's son, Robin?" Her face was pale as if she had seen a ghost.

"Well, that's what people tell me but personally, I have a hard time believing it because I don't even remember him at all."

"Wait, you don't remember him?"

"Yeah, I can't remember anything that happened past 2 years ago." Robin scratched the back of his head nervously.

"…So you don't remember the horrible things that you went through as a child?"

"No."

"I can't imagine what that's like."

"It's difficult…but I have learned to accept it. It took some time to but I accepted it and I moved forward." Robin said as he stared at the ring on his left hand and smiled.

"I see…That's good. Does she make you happy?"

"Yes, she does. Thanks to her, I have a future and I don't have to worry about my past."

"Well, since you told me about yourself. It's only fair that I do the same. My name is Lyra, the Guardian of Mount Prism."

"It's nice to meet you. We're here to-"

"I know why you here. You're here to meet Naga and perform the awakening ritual."

"How did you-"

"I saw the Fire Emblem on the Exalt's arm. It's hard to not miss that giant shield.

"I guess it is." Robin chuckled in response.

"Well, Grima is not going to defeat himself. Go on, she's waiting at the peak." Lyra pointed to the top of the mountain.

"Thank you, Lyra. I hope we come back down with good news."

"As do I."

Part 6 – Leaving for Origin Peak

Chrom underwent the awakening ritual and as a result, Falchion was awakened into the exalted Falchion. Naga explained the history between her and Naga. She also explained why she has not and can never fully defeat Grima herself. The Shepherds returned down the mountain to find Lyra leaning against a tree, waiting for them to return at the base of the mountain.

"Seeing as you're all alive and well, I take it that it went well with Naga."

"Yes, she awakened the Falchion….By the way, would you like to join us to vanquish Grima? We need all the help we can get."

"Grima's alive!? Why doesn't Naga ever tell me things like this?...Sorry, I got a little distracted there. Um wow, that's quite an offer. Not that long ago, you were so hostile towards me to the point where your gaze felt sharper than your sword. Look at you now. ….But I'm afraid I have to decline."

"Why? You can certainly handle yourself on the battlefield and your spell Chronorevir would be of great assistance on the battlefield." Robin chimed in.

"I'd like nothing more than to join you in your endeavor but I cannot leave Mount Prism. I mentioned earlier that when I was being chased by the Grimleal, I nearly died. The reason I'm alive is because of the power of Mount Prism… You have noticed that all the nature is in bloom and in optimal form?"

"I did find it odd how not one of the plants was withered."

"Naga's power flows all throughout Mount Prism which has an interesting effect, time stops affecting you the second that you enter its borders meaning that wounds inflicted within the borders of Mount Prism will still affect you. I am well over 50 years of age despite how I may appear."

"Are you saying that people do not age within Mount Prism!?" Robin staggered backwards in shock.

"Precisely. For example if I left the borders of Mount Prism, the wounds that I suffered would take effect. The reason for my existence as the Guardian of Mount Prism as well as the existence of the spell, Chronorevir is to keep the secret of Mount Prism. If people knew that there was a way to prolong their life indefinitely, they would surely abuse it."

"What does Chronorevir as a healing spell have to do with that?"

"Chronorevir can also reverse memories. If someone does find out about Mount Prism's secret, my job is to reverse the memories of the secret."

"Amazing!...Wait, but if this is quite the important secret then why would you tell the two of us?" Robin pointed at himself and then Chrom.

"The exalt who survived the awakening ceremony is worthy of keeping Naga's secret and well, I feel like I can trust you."

"Me, why me?" Robin was obviously confused by the sudden compliment or at least what he thought was a compliment.

"I can tell just after talking with you for only a short while that you wouldn't leak information just to make a profit."

"Thank you, I guess." Robin chuckled nervously in response.

Chrom cleared his throat loudly to get their attention because they had cut him out of the conversation at some point.

"I hate to end this conversation but I think we need to focus on ending Grima before he ends us."

"You're completely right, Chrom. It was a pleasure to meet you Lady Lyra but we must head to Origin Peak to end this long overdue battle."

"You better win otherwise I'm going to be without work."

Robin and Chrom began walking away and right before they reached the border of Mount Prism. Lyra called out to them.

"Sir Robin! I need to tell you something before you leave."

"Sure, what is it?"

"…Come back here for a visit, this old lady get lonely sometimes." Lyra smiled at Robin. Robin could not help but feel like her smile was faked. Was she hiding something? He decided that if she was hiding something, it was best not to pry.

"After I defeat Grima, this is the first place I'm coming back to." Robin turned around to see Chrom and the rest of the Shepherds waiting for him. Reassured and with his confidence restored, Robin took a step forward.

Author's notes: Man, this chapter took a lot more time than I expected. It took a while for me to write in this whole time thing. I don't know how other people write stories with time travel. You think it's confusing as a reader? TRY WRITING IT! Well, even though that this chapter took quite a while for me to write, I am satisfied with the results. What do you guys think about me breaking up the chapter into parts? Did it flow better? Also, can you guess who Lyra really is? I tried to make it obvious but hard to figure out at the same time. BTW, next chapter will be shorter than a regular chapter because I want to go over Lyra's backstory. I wouldn't even count it as a chapter to be honest more like an omake.

I will upload the next chapter in ONE day because I already wrote it and I wanted to give you time to guess who Lyra really is.

Well, hope that I'll see you next chapter.
