Love Struck Delusion
Chapter 29 – None Will Be Left Standing.
Raptor's POV, Rebellion HQ, later that night.
Wreak was out doing some training with the recruits outside the border. I believe he said something about a desert marathon or something.
Sitting alone in the HQ with my body resting on the couch watching the news, I continued to think about what General Monore could be planning. The guy is stupid, but that's a lethal quality if your in his position right now.
As I was nearly ready to shut my eyes, I was woken up by Archer who came through the front door with Hunter behind a few feet. She looked like she was fucking put through hell. Her quills spread out in tangled bunches and her skin looked a hint of black. Along with that, I saw she was bruised up pretty good. Parts of her face were blue and I could see a limp in her walk.
Archer on the other hand looked perfectly fine. Not a scratch on him as he approach the couch to sit down and state.
"I've made my decision."
Hunter now stood in front of us as I urged.
"Well get on with it. I have something important I wish to discuss with her."
Archer slowly nodded as he looked to Hunter with a smile to say.
"She's in. With some more training I'll have her put to good use soon enough for the rebellion. She's a future soldier in the making."
"I told you a million times Archer I'm already a soldier." Stated Hunter as he shook his head to reply.
"And what did I say? Your a soldier in you're mind, not ours. But at least now I believe in you. And after all that...I may trust you. You did good." Stated Archer as I stood up to say to him.
"We'll talk later. As for you." Pointing to Hunter I ordered.
"Follow me. We need to talk about something."
With what energy she had left, she replied as I walked by her and to the back room.
"Yes sir."
Leaving Archer to his down time. I pulled Hunter to the back room we had set up for storage to say.
"I know you're tired. You went through a lot I get that. But I need you to get back out there."
In confusion she questioned.
"What? Why?"
Her body was even perfect in this condition. My eyes looked her over slowly as I calmly replied.
"General Monroe is taking too long to announce his ruling to us. That means he's more then likely up to something. We need to know what. Thanks to Wreak and some work on his end, we got a way to find out what we need to know. But it involves you sneaking into G.U.N HQ here in Iraq and breaking into General Monroe's office and hacking his computer with a program Marx was able to find from our time under Shadow."
In utter loss for words, Hunter asked.
"So you want me to just walk in and steal top secret information?"
Shaking my head, I replied.
"As I said already, we have a way of getting this done. We just need two things from you."
"What are they?" She wondered as I calmly replied.
"The first is; when you're there don't cause any trouble. You're an unknown face to G.U.N. They won't expect you. We need that right now, understand?"
"Got it." She replied as I then reached for a bag to my left that Wreak had dropped off before he left.
Handing it to her, I said.
"The second thing is you'll need to put this on. You're going in as a secretary."
Taking out a blue dress with a button top, Hunter looked to me to ask.
"Are you serious?"
Nodding I replied.
"Completely. I know it may not be your style, but I also need one more thing from you. And...keep this between the two of us, ok?"
Sensing my emotion, Hunter pulled out the clothes to reply.
"What is it?"
"I don't know if there is anything yet, but if there is I need it taken away from Monroe." I stated as I turned around to collect my thoughts.
After a small breath I continued to say.
"Maybe look through his personal files or emails, I just need to know if Monroe has any intentions on hurting my family. If you do come across something, even if it's just a clue, I want it. Take it all if you have too. But I...I need to be sure their safe, okay?"
Looking back to Hunter, I was caught off guard as she was undoing her black cargo pants.
Immediately I widened my eyes and looked away as she caught me turning red.
With a smile she replied.
"I'll look. If there's anything I'll find it and bring it back here."
"Okay." I replied in a rumbling tone as she chuckled to ask.
"Haven't you ever seen a girl before?"
Nodding with my eyes still looking away, I replied.
"I have a wife. So of course I have. It's just...ahhh can you just put it on already?" I asked of her as she continued to laugh.
Taking her time to set up the outfit, Hunter soon stated.
"All done. How do I look?"
Regaining my posture, I turned my eyes back to see her standing there like a woman. The dress fit her so well but at the same time she looked like she could hurt someone if she had too. The only problem was the bruises on her face. She looked like she was dating an abuser or something. But I won't lie, she looked great. No one would call her out.
"You look good."
"Good?" She questioned as I nodded to reply easily.
"Yeah, good. Like it was made for you."
"Don't get any funny ideas. I still want to fight after this." She stated.
Nodding, I replied.
"If it makes any difference to you, my wife was a secretary during the war. So don't feel too bad if I have you pushing papers after this."
With a smile held on her lips, Hunter replied.
"Aren't you funny? Is there anything else?"
Shaking my head I replied.
"Just be careful. And don't hurt anyone like I said. G.U.N can't know about this. Get in and get out. I'll be waiting for you outside the building."
Caught with a surprise it seemed, she asked.
"Your my getaway?"
Nodding I urged.
"Don't worry about it. I may be old but I still can do a thing or two around here."
As I went to get the door for her, I was caught off guard as she came walking by with her hand smacking my butt to say.
"You're not that old Raptor. I can feel it."
With my body stopped in it's tracks as she made her way out the door, I kept silent as she shouted from the front door.
"I'll be back! Don't keep me waiting!"
With the door closing in a matter of seconds after she was gone, I retook my chance to refocus on what was around me. Archer who remained on the couch where I left him chimed in to state.
"Good looking girl. If you don't mind me saying."
Carefully making my way back to him, I replied.
"She's nothing special. Ether way Alicia would kill me if she caught me around a girl like her."
"Why's that? She scared of something happening?" Wondered Archer as I shook my head to reply.
"No nothing like that. The girl is like ten years younger then me anyway. It wouldn't work. Plus I love Alicia too much to do something like that."
Slowly nodding to my response, Archer looked to me as I finished.
"She just doesn't like any girls around me to begin with that look like trouble."
"That's Alicia for you. Which reminds me, where did you run off to the other day? Marx said something in a message he left me while I was with Hunter about you being gone for a good bit."
Taking my seat back on the couch, I replied.
"I went to go talk to Alicia about all this. We decided it was best to move out of Iraq for the time being."
"Where are you going to go?"
Keeping my eyes on him, I replied.
"Mason did me a favor. He's going to watch over Alicia and the kids at the capital in Afghanistan while I'm here handling this with you guys."
In a surprised tone, Archer asked.
"You're okay with that? You know it could be a while till you see them again?"
Nodding, I replied.
"I know. But it's a price I'm willing to pay for their safety. And now that I know their safe, I can run this rebellion right without a second thought entering my mind."
"Well I'm happy for you man, I am. You made a good call."
"Now how about you tell me? What exactly did you have Hunter do to prove herself?"
Archer gave me a smile as I knew this was going to be a story.
Hunter's POV, G.U.N HQ, Thirty minutes later.
"I can't believe I'm doing this." I said to myself as I entered the HQ to be asked by a nearby guard who manned the door.
"Id?"
Caught off guard, I went to the bag Raptor had given me and reached to the bottom to pull out the id tag held below. To my own surprise, it was a picture of me with all my basic information. How did he get this? I wondered as I handed it to the guard to be ask.
"First day?"
Nodding I replied.
"Yes sir. Got to make a living somehow."
After checking me over, he replied.
"We all do. Your desk is upstairs. Make a right when you get up there and enter the first room on your left."
"Thank you sir." I replied as he nodded and watched me walk off towards the nearby stairs.
Calmly making my way up, I took notice to all the soldiers around. Raptor wasn't lying when he said this place would be guarded. I best keep my head down while I do this.
As I went to where I was told, I took my time to relay the area. Not much was around besides some offices. General Monroe's could be anywhere.
"I told you for the last time Lester, I don't give a fuck what you have to do! Just get me some proof that it's Raptor Voltz who's behind these attacks! I know that washed up soldier is screwing with me and he's planning something else! So unless you want to see me get real fucking mad you'll do what your told and get back out there NOW!"
With my eyes now looking towards the voice, I widened my eyes and tensed up as General Monroe came from around a corner with a fat man. Not far behind them was a group of fully armored monsters. I've never seen soldiers like them before. Full black body armor, shielded helmet, custom weapons. These guys had to be spec ops or something impressive. Just looking at them told me they were bad news.
"But sir...Raptor is no where to be found. I had some of your men check his place earlier and even his family was gone. He might not even be in the city anymore sir."
Stopping to run his fingers along his nose, General Monroe replied.
"Piece this together my good friend please. Raptor goes to Hannon. Screams in front of Hannon and Commander Linnen that he's not going to let us end this fucking rebellion. Runs off. A few hours later our dignitary is killed! Along with three good men. I start putting pressure on Raptor and all the sudden he and his family are gone. Now I'm not the world's smartest man Lester, but I think he ran off and hid them so we couldn't play dirty. And don't expect me to believe he's left town. I could see it in that asshole's eyes, he's still here in Iraq. And he's planning another attack on us. But this time I'll get him first. I just need you to get me some proof he's behind the attacks. Now get the fuck out of my sight and get it done!"
With the older man quickly leaving Monroe after the order. Monroe turned to my direction. My eyes widened as I saw his face looked to have been blown off. The upper half part of his right eye was missing. Looked like a massive scab replaced where his skin used to be. And judging by his walk his leg must have been injured as well.
Slowly making his way towards me with his goons, he stopped to ask in a direct tone.
"What do you want?"
With my tone at a struggle, I replied.
"I'm sorry General Monroe, I didn't mean to eavesdrop like that. I was just told to wait here for you by one of the guards when I came in. He said that you needed help with something in your office?"
Looking me over, he asked.
"Who are you? I haven't seen you around here before."
"It's my first day sir. And my name is Hunter. It's nice to meet such a dignified man such as yourself."
"Dignified? My dear girl look at me. Do I look dignified?" Wondered Monroe as I looked him over slowly.
"For your condition sir yes. I'm sorry. I heard you were hurt."
Smiling Monroe replied.
"I was yes. The rebellion as you know is trying to start a war I'm sure of it. Their thinking hurting me will get me to declare, but they are wrong dear girl."
"Why's that sir?" I wondered as he now looked me in the eyes to reply.
"A war is what they want. I won't give it to them. And no matter what, G.U.N is here in country to protect these people. No matter how they all see it that is our job. A war would only cause us to look like hypocrites and kill innocents. It won't be my call that makes me go back on my clear goal here."
Smiling I then asked.
"Dignified?"
Giving me a chuckle he replied.
"Maybe. Anyway I actually do need help with something. I don't recall when I told any of the guards but no matter. Come with me and my men...ahhh Hunter?"
"Yes sir."
"Let's get going. If we're lucky we can get this done shortly. As you can imagine I'm very busy."
"Of course." I replied as I began to follow behind him. The large soldiers kept a guard around me as we proceeded to his office. This was too easy. I can't believe I just got away with that.
With my eyes to the front as I followed, I wondered in the back of my head what Raptor would think of me if I accomplished this so fast. Maybe after this he'll trust me.
Raptor's POV, Rebellion HQ.
Wreak could be heard outside with the recruits. He was working them and Archer was spending the day observing what he had too. When their both ready to move on; those men out there will feel what it's like to be in hell.
Sitting alone in my shitty burned up room with my shirt off, I held in my hand my combat knife. This blade had a history to me almost like Shadow's M1911. I had it since before I even met Shadow, this blade also almost took my life. Like I told Clamer.
Looking to the fur around my chest, I moved some aside with my spare hand to see the scar of when I had this in me. Gently placing the tip of the blade on where the scar was, I pushed slightly to let out a sigh.
After the warm air hit my blade, I pulled back to rest it on my leg right leg.
"Everything up to this point? Was it worth it?" I wondered as I could feel the abnormal scars resting in my mouth. My tongue never fully recovered from that time when it was cut out of my mouth. But through it all, Marx said I was lucky I could still talk fine.
Luck. The one thing I don't but want to believe in. But back when I was a kid my father told me something I never forgot. It's something he burned into me at a young age. A thing I believe in even if I didn't want too. It was when my mother died he said it.
"Everything happens for a reason. A reason we never are suppose to know."
Running my hand to my neck, I felt the scars from my past. Some old, some recent. Like Shadow I do cut myself. It helps me relieve stress and pain. Kind of a contradiction, but I don't fucking care. I have nothing else in this point in my life. What's the harm? I asked myself as I flipped my blade over to face me.
Bringing it up to the left side of my neck, I ran the steel down gently to breath softly with my eyes shut in silence. I didn't cut deep. I knew my limits at my age. Plus I wasn't more then a few inches from my jugular.
After the cut was made, I looked to my chest to watch as a small trail of blood began to roll down my fur.
With a small bit of haste, I stopped the trail with my finger and began to ride it up to the cut. As soon as I reached the top, I pulled it away to place it in my mouth.
Dragging my tongue around the full degree of my finger, I took away the blood back into my body and pulled out to reach for a rag to my left I had set for just this.
Placing it on the cut, I held down a small amount of pressure and relaxed myself to the sound of Marx opening my door to see my condition.
"What are you doing?" He asked as he didn't have a clear idea of what I just did.
"Don't you ever knock?" I asked as I checked the cut to hear from him.
"Still? Raptor you can't be doing this to yourself. Your too...?"
"Shut up Marx. I don't want to hear you shit right now. I'm trying to relax."
Giving me a sigh he replied.
"Then let me give you some pills or a shot of whiskey. Cutting isn't normal."
"So? I'm not normal. No one is. I've been doing this since I was twelve Marx. I know my limits. Just let me do it."
"Does Alicia know?" He wondered as I looked into his eyes to reply.
"Of course she does."
"And she's okay with it?" He questioned as I chuckled to reply.
"It's not like I did it at home when I was with her Marx. She had other means of relaxing me when we were together."
"Okay I get it. No more information Raptor please." Begged Marx as I nodded and asked.
"Did you want something?"
Nodding back he replied.
"I have someone I want you to meet."
"Who?" I asked as I stood up to face him.
"Come." He urged as I put the rag down on my bed to walk with him.
Grabbing my shirt on the way out, I looked towards the center of the room.
Misty's POV.
Marx came back with the guy and holy crap he's intimidating. I full grown gray hedgehog with parts of his quills mixed with a dark green. He even had green eyes. But god Marx said he was older then me, but I could barely tell with the shape he was in. Full six pack and a body that looked to be sculpted from the gods. At the least I could say for his age he looked pretty damn good. With my body tense and my mind at a loss for words, Marx came up to me to say.
"Raptor this is a friend of mine. Her name is Misty and she's a fellow medical enthusiast such as myself."
The hedgehog took his time to look me over.
Raptor's POV.
Light blue fur and short silver quills running to her back. She looked no more then Hunter's age. The only difference is she looked scared of me. Staring deeply into her silver eyes, I asked Marx.
"How do you know her?"
Taking his time to smile, Marx replied.
"Well I told you I spent some time elsewhere on some medical trips and on one of those I ran into Misty here. She helped me on more then a few occasions and I can vouch for her ability and loyalty."
"Where are you from?" I asked as she gulped.
Standing before me in a nice pair of black skinny jeans and a brown tee shirt with a black vest, she replied.
"Originally I'm from Pakistan sir. But I went on some medical trips like Marx did to help fellow doctors and soldiers such as yourself. I came back a few nights ago to run into him. He said you needed help."
Looking to Marx, I questioned.
"Can she even be trusted in this line of work?"
Nodding he replied.
"She's seen death Raptor. Plenty of it. She's even done some bad things."
"Like what?" I asked her as she looked to Marx to be urged.
"Tell him Misty. He may look scary but he won't hurt you." Stated Marx as I kept my eyes to hers.
Misty's POV.
With my body still tense and my mind on edge, I looked to the hedgehog before me to reply.
"I was a medic for the G.U.N military for four years. I was there when Pakistan fell to them two years ago. I...I did kill a few rebels sir."
With my eyes now down to the ground slightly, I was prepared for an angry response, when out of no where he asked.
"Why did you leave G.U.N? Why come here before me? And further more, why should I trust you?"
"She was only following orders Raptor. You should understand that much." Stated Marx as the hedgehog pointed to him to order.
"Be quiet. I'm asking her." He stated as he still stared at me.
With my eyes still down, I tried to say.
"I left because...?" Cutting me off he ordered.
"Look at me and say it."
Nodding, I dragged up my eyes to be locked back with his. His face was serious. I knew why he wanted me to look at him. He was going to read me. He didn't have to worry though. All I was about to say was the truth.
Taking one last gulp I replied.
"I joined when I was eighteen because I wanted to enter the medical field. Hospitals here don't have much good training. G.U.N had the best options so I used them for that. But as for everything I wanted I was a medic and I was sent on missions against the rebellion. I was, as Marx said, following orders. I have nothing against my own people sir. And that's why I had to leave. Two years ago, after my contract was up, I quit. I came back here to be offered a job to go to the neighboring countries and offer aid. I ran into Marx in...?" I couldn't remember but Marx did and said to the hedgehog.
"We met in Syria. Then moved to Iran for a time and worked out of a clinic there for a few months."
Nodding, the hedgehog asked again.
"So why should I trust you?"
"They put me against my own sir. I was on the wrong side and I only knew after it was all over and I drew blood against my own people. I never want to do that again. I just want them to pay and let us have our home back. My mother and father died during Commander Robotnik's era. I want to make sure they didn't die for nothing more then a drying dream."
Raptor's POV.
This girl had a problem with G.U.N it was clear. I saw it in her eyes. She didn't lie to me. Maybe she really could help us.
Standing tall to her, I asked.
"Are willing to die for me? For this rebellion? For this cause, this dream?"
Nodding immediately, she replied.
"Yes sir. I am."
Nodding once to her response, I then asked.
"Are you willing to kill?"
"Yes, I am."
Slowly looking to Marx, I replied.
"Then you're from this point on under my command. Marx will be your mentor. But now that I know your ex-G.U.N, I will be using you for direct contact missions. I need a medic. Are you prepared for that?"
"Yes sir." She replied with confidence as I nodded then ordered.
"Then get to work. Both of you."
Marx smiled as I turned back for my room.
As I entered to grab the door, I heard from behind me.
"You won't regret it!"
Letting out a chuckle, I shut the door.
Soon hearing the silence back around me, I approached my bed to be asked.
"Are you happy?"
Calmly breathing, I turned to look towards the window across the room to see Shadow standing there looking outside with a smile.
"What do you want?" I asked him in a still confused tone from my last experience.
Caught off guard, he replied.
"Nothing. Do you want me to leave? You sound angry Raptor."
"You're not real." I stated as he then urged.
"Come here."
His body looked solid. On it, he wore his old rebellion combat uniform. Black combat cargos and a brown shirt with a black bulletproof vest. Under his chin was his bandana.
Before I moved to him, I reached in my pocket. I knew I had his real bandana inside. I left it there from when I last had it.
As I went to reach inside however, I widened my eyes as it wasn't there anymore.
Quickly looking back up to him, he now had his eyes locked on me with a small smile to ask.
"Missing something brother?"
In utter confusion, I asked again.
"What do you want? You're not real Shadow. Your just my imagination. I know this game better then anyone. I beat this once before! I'm not insane!"
Still smiling Shadow asked.
"Like I was?"
Stopping my voice as he nodded, he asked.
"How was it Raptor? How was it to know you were only a few feet away to saving my life? I bet it hurts right? Knowing you could have saved everything. Now look at you. Look at what you did."
"I did nothing. I tried to save you. But you...?" Cutting me off he stated.
"But you were too slow. Now your like you are now. Your not even Raptor anymore. Not the one I used to know. Hell because of you, your kids hate you, Alicia hates you, the dead hate you Raptor." Stated Shadow as I grew furious before him.
"Because of you, what so many died for is drifting away. The freedom I died for, what so many died for, what you almost died for...is going away. Do you honestly think you can change that?"
"I can try." I stated back as he nodded slowly.
"You can try. And more then likely you'll die like Abbey and your wife did. For a lost cause."
"Shut the fuck up!" I ordered him as he shook his head to state.
"Because of you I already did a long time ago Raptor. You killed me and so many dead souls. I wonder what will happen when your time comes."
"I won't die."
"Not to an enemy yes. But that's only if you're still the soldier I knew you as."
"You're not real!" I stated as he laughed to reply.
"I'm as real as you are Raptor. And this game? What you think this is? Oh it's real too. Let's see how long you'll last."
"Go away!" I ordered him as he ordered back with a scream.
"MAKE ME!"
Feeling nothing but rage take me over, I swung at Shadow to see a flicker of light flash before my eyes.
"BASH!"
With my eyes reopening, I looked around to see Shadow was gone and my hand was sent into the wall that was behind him. With my knuckles bleeding, I pulled out to look down to my pocket.
Quickly reaching inside, I pulled out Shadow's bandana to fall back onto the floor in fear.
That's it for this chapter. Thanks for waiting everyone. Please review and let me know what you think. As a heads up Misty is not my OC. She belongs to MistyVoid48.
mT Shadow.
