I don't own anything
Ezra's POV
Aria and I were sitting in the now familiar waiting room and waited for Dr. Brown to call us in. We had the first ultrasound today, and like always, we both looked forward to seeing our baby moving on the screen of the monitor. Today is even more exciting than normally; we'll be told whether it's a boy or a girl. I can't wait to hold our little miracle in my arms, who can be a replica of me or Aria or a perfect combination of the both of us. We don't care about the gender; all we care about is that our baby is healthy.
I looked at Aria who was stroking her baby bump absentmindedly. After a moment Dr. Brown called us in and we walked into the room.
"It's been a while we saw last time" She started as she sat down. "How have you been, Aria?"
"Fine. The worst kind of fatigue is gone but I still feel sick every now and then" Aria replied sitting down on one of the chairs with me following quickly.
"The nausea is perfectly normal, and you might have to bear with it for the whole pregnancy" Dr. Brown smiled sympathetically. She then measured Aria's blood pressure and keyboarded the numbers on her computer. "Your blood pressure is good" She said. "And then the best part, let's have a look on your new comer" She continued vividly.
Aria went lying on the bed and lifted her shirt so Dr. Brown could spread gel of some kind on her stomach. "Have you decided whether you want to know the gender or not?" She asked before she started the examination. We told her that's what we wanted, and soon we heard the baby's heart beats.
"It would seem you are going to have a very lively baby boy" She finally said smiling. Our emotions overwhelmed the both of us when we heard we would be having a little boy. We smiled and were extremely happy about the news. It felt amazing our boy will be born in December.
"Ezra, we'll have a little, sweet boy" Aria said happily.
"He's gonna be perfect" I said softly and pressed a kiss on her forehead.
Our appointment was ending and we once again got the ultrasound photos with us. Dr. Brown congratulated on us for our baby boy before we left. We returned to the campus and went to my room, after which we were supposed to have a dinner in our favourite restaurant.
I was changing my shirt into another one when there was a knock on the door and Aria went to answer it.
"Is Ezra here?" I heard a familiar voice ask.
"He is, but who are you?" Aria asked confused and I walked towards the door.
"Wesley" I said calmly and looked at him perplexed. What was he doing here? I told him to come in and shut the door behind him.
"Aria, this is my brother Wesley. Wesley, my girlfriend Aria" I introduced them both. "What are doing here?" I asked more seriously.
"Nice welcome" Wesley answered dryly.
"What else can you expect?" I asked raising my eyebrows. "You haven't been in touch for four years and now you just appear here without telling me."
"And you've tried to be in touch?" He countered back. He was right; I hadn't been in any kind of contact with him since the last time I visited home. My mom had managed to raise him to be what I never was. Wesley is jut like her, only money matters in his life.
"Look, I didn't come here to fight. I came to make up" He said more patiently.
"I think it's best if I went" Aria cut in quickly.
"No, you can stay" I said and grabbed her hand.
"It's okay if you want to stay" Wesley said quickly. "Actually, I owe an apology for the both of you."
"What do you mean?" I asked.
"It's my fault mom found out about your baby and came here to accuse you."
"What?" I asked more loudly now.
"I bumped into Jackie once and she told me you'll be having a baby. We hadn't been in touch for four years and I thought that if I told mom about it, she'd manage to make you come back into our life in one way or another. But like always, it wasn't much help and I had no idea she was trying to get you break up. Or maybe I did, I don't know. I know it sounds stupid, but Ezra I missed you in our life. First I had a brother for my whole life and then you suddenly disappear. I'm sorry for what happened" He finished quietly.
I'm not sure if I've ever seen him be this sincere before. He looked like he meant every word of it.
"Mom would have found out without you. It's not your fault" I told him just as sincerely.
"You're not angry or anything?" He asked confused.
Aria and I looked at each other and answered in unison, "No."
The plan was we'd have the dinner just the two of us, but we decided to ask Wesley come with us. We managed make up with Wesley without any arguing. I was tired of fighting with people, and besides life is too short for that. We were sat in our favourite restaurant waiting for our pasta dishes to come.
"So, are you in college?" Aria asked Wesley.
"Yep, in Harvard" He asked and took a sip of his drink. "Though, I don't know for how long if mom finds out I'm in touch with you and quits paying my fee, too."
"She doesn't have to know" I said matter of factly.
"When does she not know about things?" Wesley said sceptically.
"You're right" I admitted reluctantly.
"Honestly, I couldn't care less if she did quit it. I've realised only recently what kind of a person she is. I understand why you never took contact again. I also understand why dad left as far as possible" He replied. "Speaking of which, what does it feel like to become a dad?" He changed the subject.
"Great" I answered straight away.
"Do you know if it's a boy or a girl?" He continued asking.
"It's a boy" Aria smiled.
"Wow. Congratulations" He grinned back. "I can't wait to see my nephew. If you let me that is" He quickly added.
"Of course we'll let you see him" We both said just as quickly. Soon our dishes arrived and we spent a nice Friday evening together. Wesley said he'd book a room in a cheap motel nearby, but I told him to spend the night at mine and Hardy's.
Aria's POV
I was trying to decide what to wear today when we'd go to Philadelphia with Spencer later. We had to buy new dresses for graduation; thus I want to wear something simple since I was gonna try on a lot of different dresses today. Eventually I ended up choosing my favourite jeans and a long sleeved t-shirt that highlighted my baby bump beautifully. It's not particularly big yet, but I love it and out little boy that's growing inside it. I was bursting out of happiness when I heard we would have a boy. Wesley coming over made me miss Mike, and I decided to call him and dad. I also told we'd have a boy. My dad almost shouted out of joy, and Mike was nearly as excited. After this I also had to phone my mom and tell her the same news. In addition to my family Wesley knew the gender, and we'd soon tell our friends as well.
Soon Spencer got back from gym and took a quick shower, after which we drove away in her car. Tris was supposed to come with us, but she had some urgent incident she couldn't put off.
I tried on myriad of dresses and eventually chose a white lace dress. I love lace in every form, whether it was a dress or lingerie. It's something I'll never get tired of. Spencer opted for a dark blue, elegant one that was like made for her.
"So, is Ezra's brother still here or has he left already?" Spencer asked me as we walked towards her car.
"He left just before noon" I replied.
"They get along well?" She asked while fiddling with her car key.
"Things are going fine for them. I'm glad at least one of his family members hasn't abandoned him" I said truthfully. I was really happy Ezra had given his brother a second chance. When I talked to him in the morning on phone it seemed like they had taken back all the four years they had missed.
"I'm glad for Ezra and his brother" Spencer answered climbing into the car. Even though Ezra's family is what it is, he has one thing and it won't change; he has the best gang of friends that supports him and shares the joy with.
When we were back in our room I put my bag down on the floor, walked to the fridge and made sandwiches for Spencer and me. In an hour Tris, Ezra and Hardy would come here and we'd have a dinner in a restaurant.
"Pregnancy suits you well" Spencer smirked. "You've seemed so happy lately."
"I am happy" I said matter of factly. "I feel like nothing could go better."
"I remember our first year here. The day we carried the boxes into this room. The time with you, Ezra and Jackie" Spencer said absentmindedly.
"It sucked" I said laughing a bit. Although back then, it was nothing to laugh at.
"It did, but look at you two now" She smiled. "After all of that you're still happily together and about to have a baby."
"And it all began with one silly collision in the library" I chuckled softly. I smiled at the vivid memory. It was the beginning for the story that wouldn't see its end. "I'll miss all of this" I admitted. "Sitting with you here or being together with everyone. Can you believe it Spence, soon it's all over" I said wistfully.
"I know. I'll miss living with you" Spencer said softly. "These four years here have been unforgettable. But luckily nothing will ever part us" She continued gently. "Oh I almost forgot!" She exclaimed suddenly and jumped up. Soon she came towards me with a gift bag and handed it to me.
"What is it?" I asked and stoop up.
"It's a gift for your baby. I wanted to give it before the others would come" She explained. I opened the bag and found one of the smallest pieces of clothing I'd ever seen; a white onesies, a beige play suit and a white knitwear with a star in front of it.
"Aw Spence, I love them. Thank you" I said and hugged her tightly.
"I wanted to give you something and I couldn't help myself when I saw them" Spencer replied smiling. "I tried to choose neutral colors that would suit both."
"It's a boy" I told her.
"A boy?" She repeated happily and hugged me again. I noticed tears run down her cheeks as she congratulated me. "Oh my God, why am I crying? This little Mr. Fitz has totally stolen my heart already!"
"Then he's gonna be like his dad" I said and we both laughed. Soon there was a knock on the door and Ezra, Tris and Hardy stepped into the room. Before I could say anything Spencer ran towards Ezra, hugged him and said, "I heard it's a boy, congratulations!"
"What? It's a boy?!" Tris exclaimed happily and hugged me.
"Wow, congratulations both of you" Hardy said remarkably more calmly and wrapped us both in hug, too. We then showed them the newest ultrasound photos.
"Alright, I don't really understand these photos" Hardy said. "It looks like a crayfish. Are you sure you've made a human being, Ezra?" He asked while turning the photo in his hands, causing all of us to laugh.
"I hope so" Ezra grinned.
"Anyway, are we going?" I asked and grabbed my bag. Spencer, Hardy and Tris were standing in a neat row smiling all big.
"No" They said in unison.
"What are you up to?" Ezra asked suspiciously.
"You'll see soon enough" Tris answered and opened the door. We walked after them and ended up in front of Ezra and Hardy's door. Tris opened it and all of us stepped in. The whole room was decorated beautifully. In the middle of the room there was a table full of different food dishes.
"The three of you planned all of this?" I asked in awe. "This is why Tris couldn't come shopping, right?" I continued as the realisation hit me.
"And this is why you wanted to go to that electronic store where you didn't buy anything?" Ezra continued.
"College will be over soon and since we don't know where everyone will be next autumn, we wanted to throw a little baby shower to celebrate just the five of us" Tris explained excitedly.
This was amazing. How had they managed to make all of this happen? Ezra and I thanked them for their effort. I'll miss our moments together. We ate the food they had gotten from the nearby Thai place and enjoyed every moment of it. Hardy told stories that everyone laughed at just because they made no sense. He stood up from the table and came back with present. Spencer and Tris went to stand next to him whilst they handed the package to us. We opened the present together and found a multiple frame with a photo of me and Ezra in the middle of it.
"Thank you" Ezra smiled.
"It was our favourite" Hardy said and pointed at the photo. "And like you can see, the frame in the middle has been filled while the surrounding ones are empty. We thought you could fill it with memories from college or the future moments you're gonna have with all your babies" He finished.
"Thank you, all of you" I said touched and hugged all of them. "I'm sorry, it's the hormones" I laughed and wiped the tears away.
"We still have something little for you" Spencer said and clapped her hands together. "We know little Mr. Fitz wasn't planned, but he'll still be loved. However, we wanted to prevent an accident like that from happening again so we bought you these" Spencer said and all of them gave us a packet of condoms. The room filled with laughter instantly. Their the best friends Ezra and I could have. "And like we said, our time in college will be over soon so we wanted to give you a chance to spend at least one night in the room you ended up four years ago."
A couple of hours later Hardy, Spencer and Tris went over to a bar for a few drinks and after that would go to mine and Spencer's room. Ezra and I took a warm shower. It was jut what I needed after today's shopping. We emerged from the bathroom and Ezra was about to put on his black boxers when I tiptoed behind his back and wrapped my arms around him.
"Don't hurry up putting these on" I said seductively. Ezra turned around and kissed me passionately, our towels dropping to the floor in the process. Ezra lay down on his back on the mattress when I straddled him.
"If we want this night to resemble our first night together, I think we have to shift positions" He said and rolled us over.
"As if you remembered any of it" I scoffed playfully.
"I remember the important parts" He said cheekily.
"You know, four years is a long time. So you better show me how it went exactly" I replied seductively and we made sweet love all night.
You'll probably hate me after the next chapter, but I hope you can forgive me one day. :)
