Scrabble Challenge [Gangling]

Like Clockwork

I could feel his eyes on me, but he wasn't saying anything. It was as if he didn't know what exactly to say, and Seamus always had something to say. It was one of those things that I really liked about him.

"I look terrible, don't I?"

"Don't be ridiculous, you'd look beautiful in a garbage bag."

I raised my eyebrow. "This looks like a garbage bag then?"

He hastily retracted his words, "No, not that. You'd make anything look magnificent."

I rolled my eyes, still wondering at the miracle that had led to me dating Seamus.

I had always known Ron liked Hermione, and I had ignored the fact that he had only been dating me to make her jealous. It had hurt, but I had ignored it.

Ron was as fickle as the wind that swept in whichever direction it chose, except the gangling boy's direction had always been Hermione no matter how hard he tried to convince himself otherwise.

I liked to think that my direction had always been Seamus from the very start, and I had only taken detours on my route to him.

I'd like to think that we were like a clock that would always end up together no matter how far we ventured away from each other.

I still very much liked that idea.

"You still haven't told me how I look!"

Seamus groaned, and I hid a smile.
