Chapter Twenty Nine
"Pyro!" The voices from the gang shouted out. "Pyro!" They were searching for Pyro after he and Scarface fell from the sky. "Pyro!" They could not pinpoint where they had fallen, only that it was somewhere in the distance from where they were resting earlier today.
"Pyro where are you!" Tink shouted as loudly as she could. Iradessa added an "Are you okay" after her.
"I'm sure he's fine 'Desa!" Rosetta reassured her.
"He should be!" Ash added. Although he did not make eye contact with the girls, he kept his eyes forward, clearly very concerned for his best friend. "I've seen him fall from higher and come out better looking than the ground."
"Really?" Clank asked. "I don't understand how that's possible."
"Me either!" Ash added.
They continued searching for Pyro, moving their way through the forest, looking in all directions, searching for even just a sign. Vidia suggested she split from the pack to search faster but everyone denied her of that. Although that didn't stop her from flying up above the tree line.
'Vidia! What are you doing?" Tinker Bell asked with concerned as the gang followed to the top of the trees.
"I'm trying to get a better look! See if I can spot Pyro or that hawk!" She answered.
"Hawks are why you shouldn't be up there!" Tink added.
"You should get down before one spots you!" Silvermist suggested.
"Hang on I see something!" Vidia said, pointing ahead of them.
"What do you see?" Clank asked as Vidia finally got down out of the open.
"Could you tell if it was Pyro?" Bobble added.
"No!" She replied. "But I can see that bird on the ground!"
They all looked worried and scared. "What happened?" Iradessa questioned no one in particular as Vidia re-joined them. "I don't know but we have to go!" Vidia ushered them.
Without any questions or hesitations, the gang followed Vidia to the spot where she had seen Scarface on the ground. Fawn worried if the bird was hurt or worse, but was equally concerned for her friend. The others told her not to worry, and that everything will be fine.
When they finally reached the hawk after what seemed like an eternity, even though it was only a few minutes, Fawns fear was reduced as they found Scarface alive and well. Sure enough, Pyro was there also, lying on the ground, eyes closed and breath steady.
"Pyro!" Silvermist near shouted as she dashed over to his side. Everyone else was shocked, not only at the fact that Pyro looked to be unconscious, but also at the fact that the hawk did nothing. "Pyro are you okay?" She continued.
"Sil are you crazy!" Rosetta said and gestured to Scarface. The hawk let out a small squeak and Fawn instantly began to relax.
"It's okay everyone!" She reassured her friends. "He's not going to hurt anyone."
"How can you tell?" Iradessa asked with fear.
"Because he said so!"
Fawn approached Scarface and asked if he was okay. Her question was answered when he stood up. Since Fawn is able to understand every animal, she began to talk to Scarface, and ask him what happened.
"He says that Pyro took him out of the sky without hurting him!" Fawn said to the gang. As she said this, Pyro began to stir.
Pyro sat up, looking dazed and confused. He looked at Silvermist, who's face instantly filled with relief, and then over to Fawn and Scarface. Not entirely sure what was going on he asked Fawn what she was doing with that hawk.
"He says you skilfully took him down without hurting him," she told him as the hawk made a few more noises. "And that he has now developed great respect for you!"
"How does that work?" Pyro asked Scarface.
Fawn listened to the bird and answered, "Because no never fairy has ever defeated him before!"
"Dude that's crazy!" Ash said as he slid down by Pyro's side. "What you did was even crazier!"
"I know," Pyro calmly answered as he stood up.
"Woah be careful!" Sil said, concerned for his wellbeing. "Are you able to stand by yourself?"
"I'm fine!" he reassured. "Now if he's not gonna' hurt us, can we go home?"
Everyone looked at Scarface, who chirped to Fawn. "Scarface says he noticed your wing was broken," She started. "And that he'd be happy to help fly you home!"
"No way!" Vidia said with astonishment.
The bird bowed down, allowing Pyro to climb aboard. He gave him a hesitant pat on the back and said, "To Pixie Hollow, friend!"
