Okay, so this chapter is extremely short, but I wanted to get something in today. I promise to make the next chapter that much longer. I just missed writing a little bit of Severus and his cute little self. I think the next chapter is going to be from the perspective of the kids, go exploring their first week at Hogwarts a little. Anyway, I love all of your guys's support, you are truly amazing readers. I'm hoping I'm slowly redeeming myself as a writer. Anyway, you know the drill. I own nothing but the kids, everything else belongs to JK Rowling. :D And enjoy the short 29th chapter of Papa, Who's Mama?

Papa, Who's Mama? Chapter 29:

'What do I want?' Severus asked as he made his way briskly back to the dungeons.

There wasn't many questions Severus was asked that he couldn't answer or at the very least fabricate an answer, but for this, he was clueless. But there was something. He did want something. Avidly, at that.

Watching the boy deal with his child started a...fascination of sorts. Perhaps even before, when discussing Potter with Minerva. No matter how the fascination started, Severus knew it was beyond the normal fascination and curiosities as to where Potter had been all these years.

No, this was something different entirely. There was a pulling, a tugging on the brain of sorts. Something was calling him to look deeper and as a spy, you are taught very early on to trust your instincts.

'Merlin knows they've saved me.'

Severus was well aware his presence would gage that reaction in the temperamental Potter, especially after their go-at in the hallway when he first arrived. But there was something about the way Potter acted- not feral, not temperamental but...anguished.

'Why?'

Severus and Potter were never on good terms- certainly that much was evident to any unblind person. They'd been bickering since the day he arrived as a first year. So why would Potter appear even the slightest offended by his comments? Surely they were crude, but he was a crude man.

Which brought Severus to another point of observation. His children. Harry Potter's children. If anyone were to detest Snape more than he did, it was his children. Every first year born into a wizard family knows the tales of Severus Snape- the dungeon bat. And every single one of them were deathly, pale white afraid of him. Except the Potter children.

Certainly Potter had told the tales of him and the greasy potions professor that continuously "wronged" the spoiled brat by giving him unrelenting detentions. He must have. It wouldn't make sense if he hadn't. But if he had, that made the Potter children's reactions all that stranger. They treated him with respect.

They were excited for potions.

And furthermore, they were good at them.

'Which, is probably one of the most shocking aspect of this.'

Snape couldn't wrap his head around it. But Severus was never one to deny a mystery.

Watching the Potter boy attempt to become Ron Weasley, the accomplished Auror, was slightly hilarious. Surely he got some parts down, like the temper and the silly comments. But Ron's DA techniques had grown over the years, and with it the maturity of his presence. Perhaps Harry failed to realize this before committing to the identity. No matter, it was disheartening to watch the charade, especially as a previous spy for one of the most notorious villains the Wizarding World had ever seen. So, why not help the poor bastard out?

Severus smirked as he made his way to his personal quarters.

There was also a sense a familiarity, closeness to the boy that Severus couldn't shake off. Which boggled Severus's mind qutie profusely. He was maleficent towards the boy at best. And it was reciprocated.

'Was being the operative word.' Severus furrowed his eyebrows as he started to boil water for the tea.

Severus was on a mission to figure out what changed. And if Potter agreed to be taught how to be Ron Weasley, maybe he could get a few answers out as well. It's a harmless plan. He gets "support", Snape gets answers to his blasted curiosity.

'Flawless deception.' Severus chuckled to himself as he put in three cubes of honey and sugar.
