Hey guys, sorry for the long wait. It's been a busy couple months. But I hope you enjoy this chapter, and I apologise in advance for the shortness and if Gibbs seems overly OOC. Enjoy, and review please :)

Chapter 29

Gibbs sat in the room provided to him oh so graciously by the headmaster. It was in the next corridor across from the infirmary, and despite how much he wished he could stay with his son, he knew that this was the better option, and was suitably happy with how close it kept him to his son. Sighing, he sat back in his chair. He was sat at a small table in one of two chairs. The furniture set was situated next to a large window that overlooked a great lake and a darkness that could only be forest.

He turned his head to look out of the window and ran his hand through his hair as he thought about his son.

-Flashback-

Jasper had been back for the summer for two weeks now, and Gibbs was still fuming about his son's activities at the end of his first year. He could not believe that he was not informed straight after the act by the Headmaster - instead, he was told by his son recounting his time at school.

He looked over to where his son was playing with his two friends, Artemis and Jackson, and let out a reluctant smile as his son was tackled to the ground by the tiny girl. She always was shocking him. His face turned contemplative as Jackson tugged first Artemis up and then Jackson.

Thinking about the escapades his son had been involved in, in the last year he had started to look at other magical school available for him. The top school - from what he could find in newspapers and other magical parents he had talked to - was Ouran High school, a school where the especially rich children of the world, both Magical and Mundane, went for their education from elementary to university. He couldn't necessarily afford it, but they offered numerous scholarships and with the numerous connections he had made over the years, he new his son could enter. However, there were also a number of different academies - Salem and Winchester in America, Victoria School for the Magically Gifted in Australia and Alexandria Magical Academia in Egypt. All of the schools came highly recommended.

-Flashback ends-

Gibbs sighed as his eyes scanned the grounds visible to him through the window, taking in the admittedly breathtaking grounds. He could vividly remember the argument he had with his son about moving schools.

-Flashback-

"No" Green eyes stared up at the man, the first stirrings of anger beginning to present themselves in the brightly coloured portals to the soul.

"We are not having this discussion, Jasper." He informed the boy, mouth set grimly before turning and stalking away. He should have known that would not be the end of it.

"Dad!" He heard his son shout, and then the rapid pounding of footsteps on wood. "Why are you making me move schools?"

"Because Hogwarts" He sneered the name "Is too dangerous for you, and I, in no way, trust the old fool hat runs the place."

"But Dad, I really like Hogwarts" Jasper was starting to pant a little bit now, having to jog to keep up with Gibbs quick strides. "I've got loads of friends there and the castle is brilliant. And its only Dumbledore that's the problem. And it was my fault that I got hurt at the end of the year - I was the one that followed Potter and his stupid friends. If I hadn't, then I wouldn't have gotten hurt." Jasper stopped to take a breath and also halted walking. "Dad!" It was almost a scream.

Gibbs turned around and gazed at his son Jasper soon started to squirm.

"Dad, please. I don't want to leave Hogwarts." Jasper pleaded, eyes large and begging.

"You've got one more year." He said abruptly, turning and stalking away soon after.

"What?" He heard as he rounded a corner.

He smirked.

-Flashback end-

Gibbs shook his head, wondering what he was thinking allowing his son back here. He should have known it would end in disaster.

It was the next morning that Jasper woke up again. When his eyes opened, he could see his dad propped up on a chair near his head, a boat magazine laying on his lap.

"Dad?" He croaked, struggling to lever himself up.

"Good to see you awake, young man." A kindly, female voice interrupted before Gibbs could even open his mouth. Madam Pomfrey bustled up to his bed and helped him sit up with one hand whilst waving her wand in the other, muttering short strings of Latin under her breath.

"Well, you are doing a lot better, boy. Got to thank Severus for that, brilliant with potions." She muttered under her breath. "Well," She huffed, standing up straight and tucking her wand under her sleeve. "I want to keep you in for a few more hours, but if all's right, you'll be out of her by lunchtime." She shot him a gently smile before bustling back over to her office.

Jasper bit his lip and looked over to his dad, where he could feel the man's stare boring into his head.

"One year." It was almost a growl. "I give you one year to stay at Hogwarts and convince it was safe. And you have already been injured - by a member of the staff, no less - and its only been two months."

Jasper lowered his eyes to his hands, which had unconsciously clenched around the sheets.

"You said a year." He whispered. "You said I could stay here for one more year. It's only been two months, you can't take me away." He was grasping at straws, and they both knew it.

Gibbs sighed, settling back in his chair. He could take his son away right now, fly back to America and enroll him in any one of the magical schools around the world. But, from the way that Jasper has reacted the numerous times he'd brought taking him from Hogwarts, that it would take Jasper a long time to forgive him. Looking back towards his son, he could see the boy looking defiantly at him.

"Alright." Gibbs sighed. "You have until the rest of the year to prove to me that this castle is not dangerous. Tony is working on the Headmaster as we speak, and if he has any say in things, Dumbledore will be 'under observation' by the end of the day." Gibbs studied him intently. "And you are to write me weekly reports. I expect them every weekend. And you are coming home for Christmas, no questions asked."

Looking at the large smile dominating his son's face, Gibbs really wondered if it was worth it.
