He knew that night still haunted her but, he was growing tired of waiting. As they sat, feet dangling over the window ledge, his blue eyes focused on the setting sun, he took her hand in his. "Fleur, do you think that you will ever love me?

His question was met with silence from the blonde by his side. He knew it was hard for her, losing Bill, being far from home, living alone at the tiny cottage by the sea, but, he had to know. He turned his gaze toward her and the way she looked away, turning to stare out into the evening sky, gave him the answer he needed.

He released her hand from his grip and crawled back into the small bedroom. He collected his jacket and shoes and left the room. He paused, hoping to hear her call him back, to hear a sob or the sound of her feet as she tried to catch up with him… but, the only sound he heard was the sound of his own heart breaking.
