Chapter 29: Legion
Hey guys, sorry about the long wait. It wasn't supposed to be like this. I had planned to post last week but my computer turned off and I lost all my work, so I had to start from scratch. But I remembered most of what I wrote and rewrote it, adding in new things.
Anyway, this chapter will tell you what happened between The White hats supposed death and their return. This chapter is a bit long so bear with it. It gets really good towards the end. Read and enjoy.
…
Two Weeks Ago
Kathy cut her hand with the a silver blade athame. "Exorcizamus te, omnis immundus spiritus..." Kathy chanted and approached Liam. "Hanc animam redintegra..." Liam thrashed and tried hard to break free of his restraints. "Lustratus!" Kathy slapped her bloody hand on over Liam's mouth. "Lustratus!" Liam screamed. Kathy's hand muffled the sound. Liam's eyes opened and they glowed a bright white light. Kathy's hand was removed by an invisible force and she was propelled back. Liam screamed and his mouth glowed the same bright white light. A high pitched ringing sound was heard, making everyone else in the room cover their ears. The ringing grew louder and finally stopped, along with the glow from Liam. Liam slumped and his head dropped to the floor once again.
Everyone recovered from the light show and the ringing. They all looked to Liam, seeing him slumped as he had been for most of the night.
"Liam?" Delia asked. Suddenly, Liam's head lifted up and black smoke escaped from his eyes and mouth. The smoke hit the ceiling and disappeared. Liam slumped once again.
"Undo his restraints." Kathy ordered. Bill and Connor went on either side of Liam and undid his chains. Liam fell to the floor. Delia knelt before him and lifted him up. She held him in her arms. Everyone gathered around Liam and starred, waiting of him to do anything, show any sign that he was alive. "Liam?" Liam's eyes slowly opened. He blinked a few times to regain his sight. He slowly turned his head slightly to look at everyone.
"What happened?" Liam asked.
"We performed and exorcism to get that demon thing out of you." Kathy told him.
"No. I meant…what happened to your face?" Liam smiled and chuckled. Everyone else began to smile and chuckle too. Not from his joke, but the fact that he was, for the time, back to normal. Delia was so thrilled she started kissing Liam all over. Liam couldn't get himself to kiss her back, mainly because she was letting him.
"Oh my God. You are never going to do anything this stupid again." Delia told him.
"No promises." Liam said.
"Glad your back, little brother." Connor said.
"Yeah thanks."
The team was thrilled and happy that the exorcism didn't kill Liam, and also because it seemed like it worked. Liam was being helped up by his abnormally strong older brother, Connor. Connor was just barely Liam's size, but his strength seemed to surpass his own. Connor lifted Liam up a little much and managed to fling him onto his back with just one arm. Liam feet were left dangling off the ground.
"Wow, you are strong." Liam told his brother.
"I work out." Connor replied, receiving some chuckles from the team. He helped Lower Liam so he was at least standing on his feet, but needed to be supported.
"So, feel anything?" Collin asked.
"My whole body feels numb. Like I had been hit by that Spinosaurus we faced once."
"Ouch. That's numb." Danni replied.
"But do you feel anything at all left from that demon thing?" Kathy asked.
"I'm not sure. Did something happen?"
"Black smoke escaped out of you. We believe it was the demon but we don't know." Delia said.
"Well, figure it out. But once I'm better."
"Agreed." Kathy said.
"Uh…guys?" Bill said. He was looking away from everyone and facing towards the stairs leading upstairs, looking up. Everyone turned and looked where he was looking. The black smoke that escaped from Liam started appearing and swirled around in a particular spot on the ceiling. "I thought that thing was gone?"
"It is. At least, it's gone from Liam." Danni said.
"Then why the hell is it back?" Connor asked. The black smoke swirled and started spiraling down to the floor. The smoke hit the floor and started morph, in the shape of a man. The smoke man started changing. It morphed into a smoky version of Bill, then Collin, Delia, Kathy, Danni, and finally Liam. The smoke man expanded and floated in the air for several seconds. Then it started come down and the smoke formed into a man. A solid man. He had dark black hair and a beard. He wore the same leather attire to that of The Master. The man breathed in his first form of air in his life. He raised his new arms and felt his head and body. He opened his eyes to reveal them to be completely black. They disappeared after a second to be replaced by black pupil eyes.
The team looked at this new arrival with caution and contempt. This guy just appeared out of nowhere, using the smoke that had been inside Liam for months. Immediately, they could tell that this guy, whoever he is, was one false step away from a bullet to the head.
The man looked all around the office, observing his surroundings. He looked to a table with some books on it and picked one up. He smiled and chuckled a little.
"Put that down." The man turned to the voice and saw Kathy aiming a pistol at him. "Who are you?"
"I go by many names." The man said. He put down the book he picked up and began to walk a little around the room. He inhaled some air and let it out in a delightful sigh. "It feels good to be corporeal. The feelings, the smells, the aroma of humanity is overwhelming."
"I won't ask again. Who are you?" Kathy demanded. The man turned to face her and smiled.
"I am not a demon. I am something that you can't even conceive. The First Evil." The whole room froze in fear at his revelation. The First Evil was corporeal and standing in their midst. Kathy's hand began to shake with the gun in it. "Beyond sin, beyond death. I am the thing the darkness fears. You'll never see me, but I am everywhere. Every being, every thought, every drop of hate. And now…now I am solid. I am form. I am powerful. I may not be as powerful as I could be, but I'm more powerful than all of you combined. How do I know? Because I have all of your powers."
"Impossible." Danni said.
"Oh, very possible. I'm right here." Kathy grabbed her hand to steady it and fired her gun at The First. The bullets hit its target, one by one. One bullet went into his neck and one went into his head. Kathy kept firing until she ran out of ammo. The First still stood. He inhaled and the bullets came out of his torso, dropping to the floor. The bullet in his neck came out a dropped, as did the one in his head. His wounds healed instantly. "Nice dry, Kathy. But in this world, my world, I'm forever."
"How could this have happened?" Liam asked.
"Well, since you won't be around long enough anyway, I guess I'll tell you. It was me." Everyone starred and listened to The First. "See, two years ago, when you first came here, I realized that you were trying to save the future from something that I really want. So I waited until an opportunity arose. And it did. I invaded your dreams, your memories. I noticed things that you forgot. Details, stories. Including one about the slayer dying and coming back. I knew that you would try and stop her, so I devised a plan. When you died, I intervened and brought you to a special Hell. That's where you made the deal to come back safely. It could have ended there but I also knew, you would do anything to save your brother. So I made Alastair give you the power of the inner demon in you. Sorta like a test run of what could be in you." Liam listened to The First's speech, appalled by what he was hearing. "Once you got rid of it, I made Alastair hunt you down again and give you something even more special. A little bit of me to grow inside you. Kinda like an egg inside a womb. Waiting for birth. It needed to be powerful enough first. That would have taken time, but then your friends had the brilliant idea of using blood to perform an exorcism. And that did it. Your powers, your essence, my essence, my new body. Thank you for this wondrous gift that you gave me. Life." The whole team starred in fear. They had created The Firsts body to use to roam the world. And worst, it had all of their powers. This was not good.
"You used me." Liam accused it.
"That's what I do. You could have found out, had you not been so busy trying to save your family and look for that flimsy Orb. The Orb of Danzalthar. Wonder where it's at? I'll give you a hint. You slept on the entrance before. It's even named after it. The Seal of Danzalthar."
"The entrance to the hellmouth." Delia said stunned.
"How could seven intelligent people with knowledge of the future, not make that connection. The Orb has been under your feet, all this time, and you never knew. Too bad. Cause I would never have thought to have used it, until you came along. And if you couldn't have stopped it, what hope do your parents have?"
Kathy gritted her teeth and lunged. She took out her tomahawk and knife and tried strike at The First. The First dodged the attack. Kathy assembled her scythe and twirled it around, trying to deliver a strike again. But The First just dodged everything single blow she forced. Finally it grabbed the shaft of the scythe. Kathy looked worried. The First swung it and her around and flung her into the opposite wall. Kathy bounced off, breaking some brick, and landed in a heap. Danni assembled a big ball of yellow magical energy in her hands and threw it at The First. The First caught it with one hand and absorbed it.
It sighed in satisfaction. "Oh, that's good. Now I know why your mother was such a junkie before being evil." Danni screamed and sent a swirl of fire at The First. The First absorbed the flames and flew them back at her. Danni was flown off her feet and hit the wall. In all of the commotion, Collin grabbed his bow and arrows and started firing them. The First simply flicked his wrist with each arrow, suspending them in midair. He rotated his hand, rotating the arrows as well, flicked his hand, and the arrows zoomed after Collin. Collin back flipped, dodging some of the arrows. One embedded itself in his right shoulder and another in his left thigh. He crumpled to the ground. Delia grabbed sword and ran to The First. She swiped and struck, missing each time as The First dodged all of her blows. She swung and he ducked, grabbing her arms, forcing the sword out of her. The First hit her several times on her body and swung her around, grabbing her and having her face the half failed team. "This is a poetic gesture here." The First hissed into Delia's ear. "The death of the Slayer from the Future, marks the death of all future slayers." With that, The First grabbed Delia's head and twisted it, snapping her neck. Delia fell to the ground and lay still. Liam looked at the scene, horrified. He starred into his wife's dead eyes and her emotionless face.
With all of the strength he had, Liam got up and ran to The First. The first simply kicked Liam back into the wall that his sister hit before. Bill grabbed his swords and ran, screaming at The First. The First dodged his first attack and grabbed both of his arms, twisting him around until he let go of his swords. The First twirled them around and stabbed Bill in the stomach with both of his swords. The blades stuck out of Bill's back. The Frist lifted him up so that the blades would go in more. Then he threw the kebab-ed Bill to the side.
Collin managed to get to his feet and aimed an explosive arrow at The First. He fired and The First use his new found powers to stop the arrow in mid-flight, turn it around, and refired it back at Collin. It embedded itself into Collin and he flew back. The arrow blew a second later.
Connor growled angrily and ran at The First. He managed to hit The First square in the jaw. He punched him in the gut, grabbed him by the arm, and flung him into the bookcase entrance, breaking it and making a hole leading to the weapons room. The Frist got up and dusted himself off. Connor ran at him, but The First flicked his wrist and Connor flew back.
The Frist stepped back into the office and was blown back by a magical blast. He looked up to see Danni. Her hair was on fire, her eyes were completely yellow, and she looked angry. The First got up and smiled. Danni roared a demonic roar and blew fire out of her moth. The fire was sucked up by The First and he approached Danni. Danni gasped as The First embedded its fist into Danni's chest. A red glow surrounded the wound as Danni's power and life force was being drained form her. Her hair turned back to normal red, her eyes turned back to blue, and her skin began to shrivel and wrinkle. The first continued to suck until Danni's corpse disappeared in a cloud of dust, similar to a vampire.
All who remained were the Summers children. Battered, beaten, and afraid. "Now there's something." The First said. "With all of this power, I have knowledge on how to use it. And I know the perfect send off for you all. You all going out in a blaze of glory." The First's eyes turned black. He began to gather up energy from around him. He started to glow red. Kathy and Liam's eyes widened. They knew what was coming.
"Code M!" Kathy said. Code M was the term they used for when all else failed, Danni would send off a magic explosion of energy. Liam once used something similar in his fight against Van-tals the previous year. But his was a tenth compared to Danni's abilities. Now The First was using it.
Once The First gathered up enough energy, he let it out. The energy exploded all around, blasting everyone and everything away and incinerating it. But everyone's bodies didn't incinerate. All the bodies in the room vanished in a red light. The explosion was so massive, it blew through the floor of the bar, the floor of the loft and the bedrooms above it, the weapons room, and the warehouse where the vehicles were. The explosion blew up the entire block that the White Hats live on, taking out their home and any surrounding building.
Soon cops and firefighters were on the scene, dealing with the explosion. People were gathered behind a police barricade watching the fire and the firefighters putting it out. Several blocks away from the sight, nothing seemed to be happening in a dark alley. A manhole cover rattled in the alley like someone was underneath it. The manhole cover was lifted up and a female figure came up and out of the whole. The woman looked around the alley and quietly went to the entrance to check the street. The light from a street lamp lit her face. It was Kathy, who was wearing her armor. She looked down the street and noticed that nobody was in sight. She went back to the manhole.
"Coast is clear." She said and held her hand out. Someone took it and she lifted that person up. That person was her twin brother Liam, also in his armor. They both bent down and helped up the next set of people. Their brother, Connor, Bill, Collin, Danni, and Delia, all of whom were wearing their armor. "Close call."
"Nice job getting us out of there, Dan." Collin commented.
"Simple cloning spell." Danni shrugged. "No big. The hard part was getting some of my magic into it so that The First would believe that it took my power."
"I'm still amazed how you predicted all of that." Bill said.
"Collin has the intuition, I have the magic. We work well together." Danni responded.
"In any case, you deserve this." Kathy said and stepped forward, grabbing Danni's face and panting a full kiss on the lips. She parted and smiled.
"If she's doing it, so am I." Liam said and kissed Danni, same as his sister did.
"Hey, you deserve it." Connor said and kissed Danni too.
"I'm in." Bill said and kissed Danni.
"Oh, what the hell." Delia said and kissed Danni.
"Hey, hey, hey. She's my girlfriend." Collin said stepping between everyone and Danni. He turned to her and kissed passionately, while bending her over. He brought her back up and let Danni come back to reality.
"Whoa. Ok, love the love fest. Gotta save you guys more often." Danni said, liking the affection.
"You already do. And speaking of which, we're alive. What's our next move?" Delia asked.
"Easy. We find The First Evil and send him back to hell." Liam said and started to walk out of the alley. "No one uses me as a birthing mother and gets away with it."
"Liam." Kathy called, stopping her brother. Liam stopped and turned to face them all. Kathy was going to speak more until she got a good look at Liam. She walked closer to him and examined his face more. "You look…different." She said, eyeing Liam. Liam looked perplexed at his sister. He didn't know what she was talking about. "Yeah, you look…really different." Everyone came closer to look at Liam and they saw what Kathy was seeing. Liam had changed completely. He was younger looking, only by a couple of years. Before he had some wrinkles forming his face was usually fixed in a serious look most of the time. Now he looked much like how he did before they all came to the past. Now he looked younger and more relaxed. It was a better sight to see him.
"Could you all stop staring at me? It's getting creepy." Liam said.
"Sorry. You just look…better." Delia said and ran a hand across Liam's cheek. "You look a lot better."
"Well, I'll feel a helluva lot better once we get The First Asshole and make him pay for making me Mr. Mom."
"You go off halfcocked and you'll die for real this time. No Danni." Kathy told him.
"Then what?" Liam asked.
"Well, let's go over everything. We are alive but everyone I assume believes were dead."
"What makes you say that?" Connor asked.
"The First knows just about everything. If it sensed we were alive, it'd be here to finish the job."
"Makes sense." Bill commented.
"And if it's anything to the contrary, that gives us an edge."
"Before I beamed us all out of there, I got a good look at The First's body." Danni said.
"So did I." Collin said.
"I think we all got a good look at his body." Bill said, not seeing the point they were trying to make.
"The point is that I was able to practically scan his meat suit. I noticed something." Danni told them.
"Well don't keep us in suspense." Connor said.
"The Firsts body is just like any human's body. It feels, it smells, it sees, it hears, and it tastes. It seems to have everything that makes a human a human."
"So it's human now?" Delia asked.
"Pretty much. But I saw something." Collin said. "When I see you guys, I see your auras. Like clear as day. Each one of us has different colors and they sometimes change over time, but they stay. The First was giving off all of our colors."
"But that's because it had our powers." Liam said.
"Right. But I only saw our colors. Our current auras. I didn't see anything that would indicated an eighth party."
"What the hell does that mean?" Connor asked.
"It means The First is only using our powers. It can only use us." Kathy said, getting what her cousins were saying.
"The First can't use its own powers. It's not as strong as it could be." Danni said.
"The First won't know or see us coming." Collin said. "Its thinks we're dead. And if we don't do anything to raise suspicion…"
"It'll never know when we'll arrive because it doesn't know we're still kickin'. We can plan and prepare and catch him completely off guard." Liam said.
Kathy clapped her hands and punched the air in triumph. She laughed through smiling gritted teeth. "We are back baby!" She said excitedly and she and Liam high fived. Danni and Collin high fived too, and then the whole group started high fiving everyone in the group.
"Wow, this is all great and everything, but how are we going to do all this?" Delia asked. Her question just brought down the entire team. No one knew what the next move was. They were alone, homeless, most of their resource burned, their weapons, aside from their personal ones on them, and had no means of communicating with anyone for help. Not to mention that there was no one to help them.
"We're dead in the water here." Bill said sighing.
"Not…necessarily." Liam said.
The White assembled at a storage facility later that night. The same storage facility the Liam used for his car when he and Delia were in England. The team hopped the fence and Liam snuck their way through the facility to his storage unit. He kept it use in case of emergencies such as the one they were going through now. The White Hats arrived at the storage locker and Liam broke the lock with a good kick and opened it.
"You kept this storage unit? Why?" Delia asked him.
Liam turned the lights and the rest of the team was surprised by what was inside. Boxes lined the walls, filled with everything they needed to start a war. Medieval weapons of different classes, firearms of various kinds, spare body armor, different types of technology they had been working on over the past few months that Liam duplicated and hid here just in case, and a laptop on a table, hooked up to a couple of hard drive towers.
"Like Kathy always says, always keep a spare." Liam said entering the unit. He went to the laptop and unplugged it. "Any book we had, scanned right in here."
"Ooo. I think I'll take that." Danni said coming in and grabbing the laptop.
"It's yours." Liam smiled.
"You have learned well, Padawan." Kathy said sounding impressed.
Collin walked over to the side of the unit and saw three of his own custom made large quivers, hanging from the wall with arrows already in them and a case on a table below them. He opened the case and withdrew a collapsible bow. He flicked it and the bow opened to be a long double-recurve bow. Collin admired the bow and took a quiver from the wall. He put the bow close to the bottom of the quiver and pressed a button on the bow. A light on his bow blinked green as a light on his quiver blinked green. Collin pressed a few more buttons in sequence on his bow and the bottom of his quiver rotated on a wheel with different arrow heads. It stopped and screwed in a head onto one of the arrows.
"God do I love my job." Collin said happily.
"I think we can even the odds a bit, guys." Bill said licking up a rifle from a crate. Connor came over and stated looking through it. "Especially since they don't know we're still alive."
"This one here is mine." Connor said picking up a mini-gun. He rotated the rotating barrel.
"Ha. Big gun doesn't make a big man." Kathy commented.
"Ok, so we got guns, we got equipment, we got our research, we got what we need to fight. What's next?" Delia asked.
"Now we need our friends." Liam said searching through a box.
"What friends?" Bill asked. Liam found what he was looking for and held up a cellphone.
"The past kind." Liam dialed on the cellphone and held it to his ear, listening to the rings. "Hey Riley."
…
Ten Days Later
In New York, JFK airport was busy as usually. People scrambling to get on and off planes and make their meetings or go out of town. With everyone rushing, nobody could get through without trouble. That was also the case for one fifteen year old girl who entered the airport with a ticket in hand and a backpack on. She was short like any fifteen year old girl, shoulder length brown hair with a headband, brown eyes, wearing jeans and a button shirt. She walked through the busy airport, looking nervous and looking at everyone she passed. She got into a line to go through the terminals. She stood in line patiently, but feeling paranoid. She jumped when a hand was placed on her shoulder and she turned to see a security guard. She calmed down a little when she saw him.
"Are you alone here, miss?" The Security guard asked. The girl nodded her head. "Where are your parents?"
"I-I-I'm alone." The girl stuttered.
"Please come with me." The security held the girls arm and led her away. The girl felt a little safe being with a security guard, that was until the guard grunted, held his stomach and fell to the floor. Blood seeped from a wound in his chest. The girl screeched, attracting attention of nearby passers. Then everyone was screaming and running after seeing the dead body. Another nearby security guard went to help the girl, only to be struck down by another silent shot. The scared girl looked around and started to run. She ran to an escalator and tried running up it, but Crow soldier showed up at the top and aimed a gun at her. The girl ran down the escalator to get away from the soldier. Unfortunately, she was met by a whole squad of Crow Soldiers aiming guns at her. The girl was completely terrified at this point.
Suddenly an arrow was shot and landed before the squad. They all looked to it and the arrow blew out smoke from a device on it. The smoke consumed the squad, making them all cough and obscure their vision.
"Sorry I'm late." The girl heard a voice echo through the terminal. She looked up to see a man swing on a rope and punch the Crow Soldier coming down the escalator. He swung down and landed by the girl, carrying a bow. The smoke cleared from the Crow Squad and the man, who was Collin wearing his armor, aimed another arrow at them. "But you guys try getting a bow and arrow through security." He fired the arrow and it landed in one soldiers head. A device on the arrow beeped and sent tiny thorn like flechettes out, hitting the soldiers. Collin stood up and turned to the girl who starred at him, scared. "It's alright." Collin assured her and bent down to her level. "My names, Collin. I'm with the US military. I'm here to help." The girl smiled, believing Collin's word. Then she saw behind him and the smile faded. Collin sensed it and turned to see that not all of the Crow Soldiers were down. Some got up and aimed their guns. Collin quickly grabbed the girl and ran with her up the escalator as the soldiers fired. The two made it to the upstairs, only to be met with two more soldiers with guns. "Oh crap." Collin ducked behind a column with the girl as the soldiers fired. Collin ducked down and crawled along the chairs in the waiting terminal, dragging the girl as she held her ears. He made it to the end and pressed the buttons on his bow. His quiver attached an arrow head to the shaft and Collin pulled the arrow. He fired it at the window and then pulled out another arrow with two head, firing one at the ceiling. The arrow head was attached by rope to the arrow that Collin placed in his arrow rest. He shielded the girl with his body as the arrow in the window blinked and blew up, blasting the window open and making the soldiers cover themselves from the blast. "Ok, princess. Arms around my neck and don't let go." Collin told the girl. The girl did as she was told held on to Collin tight. Collin ran to the window and fired his arrow with the rope. It embedded in the wing of a plane and the two zip lined down to the tarmac. "Time to run." Collin said and the two ran on the tarmac.
"Where are we going?" The girl asked as they ran.
"Somewhere safe." Collin replied.
"Who are those men?"
"People in league with others that want to kill you."
"Why me? What's so special about me?" The two took cove behind a tarmac vehicle with suitcases on it.
"That's just it." Collin looked to her consolingly. "You're special. You have something inside you that few people in the word have. And there are those who want to take that away."
"Why?"
"Because it stops evil. And they don't want that." A loud gunshot was heard and a bullet narrowly missed Collin's head. Collin grabbed the girl and hauled themselves over the vehicle on the other side. Another gunshot was heard and the bullet hit a bag, knocking it off the vehicle. "Dammit. Sniper."
"Can we run?"
"No. The sniper's got us pinned. We're stuck here."
"How do we get out?" Collin held her by the shoulder and lowered down more behind the vehicle. He maneuvered himself so that he was lying on his back and looked at the vehicle. But he wasn't looking at it, more like through it. His eyes turned electric blue and he saw through the vehicle, looking at the top of the airport roof.
"Hey, what's your name?" Collin asked.
"Abby." Abby said.
"Ok, Abby, I need you to be brave for me right now. I need you to stick your head up and into the open."
"What?! But won't he see me?"
"That's the idea. Don't worry." Collin held her shirt by the seam and gripped it tight. "I won't let you get hurt. Just do as I say, and lift yourself up. I'll bring you back down if he fires." The girl was extremely scared and shaking because of it. Collin could feel her shaking as he gripped her shirt. "Abby, this is important. If I can't see where he's firing from, I won't get him."
"How will you…"
"Abby! Just do it. Trust me. I got us this far, I can get us further. Just be brave, and show yourself." Abby swallowed hard and nodded. She slowly got on her feet in a crouching position and began to lift up. "That's it. Nice and slow." Collin said while looking through the vehicle. Abby's head moved above the suitcases. Collin saw the flash from the muzzle of the rifle and yanked Abby back down. The bullet grazed the suitcase where Abby's head was and they heard the gunshot. "Nice job, Abby. I know where he is now."
"How will you get him? He's got a gun. All you got is a bow and arrow."
"Guns are weapons of emotion and unpredictability. They're not always the best thing to use."
"But how will you get him?"
"Like this." Collin sat up and back wheeled out from behind the vehicle. He quickly aimed his bow and fired, just as the sniper fired his rifle. The bullet hit Collin in the chest and he flew back. The arrow hit the sniper in the head and he slumped dead. Abby screamed and looked to Collin's motionless body. Collin stirred and groaned, holding his chest. Abby slowly came out form cover and went to him. Collin turned over on his side and held the dented bullet in his hand. His armor protected him from the bullet. "Got him."
"I thought you were dead." Abby said. "Collin looked to her and then behind her, seeing trucks moving into the taxiway in the distance.
"If we don't move we will be." Collin stood up and grabbed Abby by the arm. They both ran fast down the taxiway toward the runway. The trucks saw them and drove faster. Both trucks had machine Guns on them and men revving them up to fire. "Destroyer, need help!" Collin said.
"What?!" Abby asked.
"Wait for it." Collin stopped short and looked to the trucks. Abby cowered behind him.
"What are we doing?"
"Just wait." The trucks moved on Collin and the guns were about to fire. Suddenly, one truck was blown right off its wheels by a force to its side. The truck flipped and made the other struck swerve. Collin looked and saw Connor, wearing his own armor, to be the one that made the truck flip. "Nice timing."
"Thanks." Connor went to the downed truck and kicked it from an angle. The truck skidded on the taxiway and hit the other truck, causing it to lip over as well. "That's two."
"Extraction team here?"
"They're waiting past the terminal."
"Then let's go."
"Where are we going?" Abby asked.
"Like I said. Someplace safe."
…
In Chicago, a girl with blonde hair, was running through the darkened streets, with several Crow Soldiers, all dressed in more civilian clothes, chasing her. The girl ran down an alley and hid behind a dumpster. The Crow Soldiers ran into the alley and passed by the girl. The girl waited until they all left and slowly crawled out to run again. But she was cut off by one lone Crow who held a gun to her head. The girl whimpered as she saw the Crow. Before the Crow could pull the trigger, he was grabbed by someone and whirled around.
"Didn't anyone ever tell you not to point guns at people?" The man said in a British accent as he wrestled with the Crow. They wrestled together until the gun was now pointed at the Crow. "They could go off." The man made the gun go off and the Crow fell, dead. The turned around to face the girl. The man was Bill, who was wearing his armor and had his two swords at his side. "Are you alright?" Bill asked. The girl nodded. Voices were heard on the other end of the alley as the Crows came to the sound of the gunshot. "Get behind me." Bill said and pulled out his swords. The girl did as she was told and went behind Bill, believe him to be friendly. The Crows entered their part of the alley and pointed guns at them. "Come on then." Bill egged them.
"Save it." Everyone heard a female voice. The Crows looked around for it. Bill smiled. A body dropped down behind the Crow squad and stood. The Crows turned and aimed their guns at the new arrival. It was Delia.
"Draw your pistol." One of the Crows told her.
"I walk a different path." Delia said and withdrew her sword at her side. She swung and knocked the gun out of the nearest Crows hands. She punched him and kicked him into another Crow. Delia turned towards a third Crow coming at her. She tossed her sword to him, who caught it and kicked a fourth Crow from behind. She swiped the ground and knocked the third Crow on his butt, as he tried to kill her with her own sword. Delia retrieved her sword and stood up to be met with two Crows aiming their guns at her.
"Hang on. That's not very nice." Bill said from behind them. The Crows turned but Bill was too fast. Bill kicked one in the ribs and sliced the other one across the torso. Bill whirled around, knocking the Crows gun away and slicing his neck. "Nigh night." Bill said as the Crow fell to the ground.
"Well…that was fun." Delia said
"Not my usual sort of fun but it'll do." Bill said. Delia smiled and moved to the girl.
"Come on, honey. Let's get you safe." Delia told her.
"Who are you guys?" the girl asked.
"We're the White Hats, luv." Bill said.
…
Kathy and Liam were on mission, same as the rest. They were currently driving a HUMVEE down a dark road in southern California, right near Sunnydale. The other groups were off getting potential slayers in other parts of the country, while they found one close to home.
"How far to the target?" Kathy asked. She was driving and driving pretty fast.
"Hang on. How can anyone decipher how to read this?" Liam was fiddling a map of the roads where they were. "Aha, I think I got it. About another mile. She's in a motel." Liam told her.
"You mean the one right up ahead?" Liam looked up from his map to see the motel they were after.
"That be it." Kathy swerved and stopped in the parking lot of the motel. The twins got out and looked around for any signs of enemies or anything. "No visible contacts."
"Let's get to searching. We got a lot more important work to do than this." Kathy said.
"Look, we're searching for potential slayers for the army. Have some pride. We're building up the greatest force of good the world has ever seen."
"Yeah, but we need to stop the greats evil the world has ever seen and we aren't any closer than we were a week ago."
"Let's just find the girl and then we can get back to finding ways to kill that thing." Liam and Kathy looked around again for any more signs of enemies before walking to the motel room where the girl was staying.
"I don't like this." Kathy said as they approached the door.
"Why?" Liam asked as he knocked on the door.
"It's too quite." The twins looked to each other with worried looks. Liam knocked on the door again to the motel room. The light was on so someone was home in there. Kathy peered through the window.
Lam knocked again. "Hello? We're not here to hurt you. We want to help you." Liam said through the door.
"She's scared." Kathy said bending down and taking out here knife. She placed the knife in between the door and the door frame and jiggled it.
"Glad you're not kicking doors down now." Liam complimented in a sarcastic tone.
"That manager was way too pissy about his door." Kathy said.
"You broke it in half and scared the last girl half to death. Not mention you were the one that had to pay for it."
"Well, they shouldn't."
"Just get the damn door opened." Kathy worked her magic with the door lock and they heard the click. "Thank you." Liam opened the door and walked in. "Hello?" He was immediately hit over the head with a lamp and fell to the ground. Kathy charged in, saw the girl with the broken lamp and held her against the wall. The girl was small, blonde, and looked southern to them.
"Please, please don't kill me." The girl said in a southern accent.
"Kill you? I want to kiss you." Kathy said smiling and let the girl go. The girl looked to Kathy confused. Liam groaned on the ground and held his head. Liam opened his eyes and saw stars circling his head. "That was so good, even I couldn't do that."
"Who are you people?" The girl asked.
"Bottom line, US military. We're here to take you to safety." Kathy said. She then looked to her brother who was half unconscious. "You alright, bro?"
"Yeah, perfectly fine, you fucking idiot." Liam said, staggering to his feet. He wobbled a little and held the wall for support. "Fuck that hurt." Kathy giggled a little at her brother's pain and turned back to the girl.
"So, what's your name?" Kathy asked.
"Eve." Eve said.
"Where is she?" Liam said turning around fast and nearly falling over again.
"She's right here. And she's not the Eve we know." Kathy said.
"Oh." Liam said and held his head again.
"I'm sorry. I thought you were those robed guys trying to kill me." Eve said.
"No. We kill those guys." Kathy said. "You'll be ok. We got your sisters nearby."
"Sisters?"
"Sister Potential Slayers." Liam said finally getting his balance. "And you hit hard." Liam pointed out as he rubbed his head.
"Sorry."
"Apology accepted." Liam started heading out the door, followed by Kathy and Eve. "Let's just get out of here bef…" Liam was cut off as a loud gunshot was heard.
"GET DOWN!" Kathy yelled and dove Eve to the ground. Liam took cover behind the wall frame to the room.
"I saw the shooter on the opposite roof." Liam said. "Anybody hit?" he didn't receive a response. "Kathy?" Liam looked and saw Kathy knelt by Eve's body. A blood pool was forming on the carpet floor. Kathy moved out of Liam's line of site and Liam saw Eve's body with a gunshot to the stomach. Kathy looked to Liam. She had some blood spatter on her face. In a fit of grief and anger, Liam pulled out his sickle and dove out form cover, running to the HUMVEE.
"LIAM!" Kathy called for her brother. She tried to grab him but she dove to the wall frame as another gunshot was heard. Liam went to the HUMVEE and took cover. He circled around and dove out. He saw the sniper on the roof aiming his rifle at him. Liam flipped his sickle to an ice pick grip and threw it. The sickle whistle through the air as it spun and sliced right through the snipers rifle and his head. The sickle turned around like a boomerang and Liam caught it. Kathy came out from the room and went to Liam.
"Fucking Sniper. Using a little girl for target practice! Once we find that Orb, we're going after them next." Liam told his sister.
"Fully agree. But if you ever pull something that stupid again, I'll shoot you myself." Kathy threatened.
"Fair enough. Let's just get back before anyone else decides to make a surprise visit." The twins walked back to the HUMVEE. Liam got into the driver's seat while Kathy got into the passenger's seat. Liam looked to the room where Eve's body still was and starred. "What about her?"
"We'll send a team to come and take care of her." Kathy said.
"Fine." Liam wasn't fine with it. A little girl was killed on his watch. Nothing could make up for it. Liam started up the HUMVEE and just sat there, thinking about the events a moment ago. He hit the steering wheel in anger. "DAMMIT!" He was really angry with what just happened. He put the HUMVEE in reverse and pulled out of the motel parking lot.
…
Later, Liam pulled the HUMVEE into the Sunnydale army base. A week ago, Liam contacted Riley for help. At first, Riley was a little reluctant, but he gave in after a good explanation of the situation and offered to assist The White Hats in their endeavor. Riley gave a statement to his superiors of signs pointing to an evil force rising in Sunnydale. He wasn't too far off. Liam and his team managed to forge up some signs, both false and true, indicating something was happening. So the military offered Riley the army base and men to help with the demons. Then Liam and his team set up shop and started tracking down potential slayers for the slayer army that was going to rise and repel the evil army of Turrok-Han's. In between finding potentials, Liam and Kathy had been discussion on a way of defeating The First or at least destroying its human body that had all of their powers in it.
Liam parked the HUMVEE and he and Kathy walked to a building. They entered it, both looking unhappy. They had a right. They failed in protecting and saving a potential. They had lost one. But now they needed to focus on others that they could save. They walked through the halls of the base and saw Connor, Bill, Collin, and Delia coming out of a room together.
"What's the catch?" Liam asked them all.
"We got our girl in Chicago." Bill said.
"Picked up ours at JFK." Connor said.
"What about you guys?" Delia asked.
"Sniper took her out before we even got out the room." Kathy told them.
"Sniper? How old?" Collin asked.
"Couldn't have been more than fifteen. I understand demons, but human actually wanting to do this is inhuman." Liam said rather furiously.
"Well hopefully we can imprison or kill them all after we done with this." Collin said.
"I vote kill. It'll make me happier."
"Let's check with Danni and the rest of all of this. I'm sure we'll get more chances with more girls." Delia suggested. The six of them walked through the halls and entered into a computer room. Computers and monitors and hardeners filled the room, but only one human body was in it. Danni was siting cross legged on a table. She looked like she was mediating. She was actually monitoring and operating all of the computers in the room with her mind. She stared straight ahead, oblivious to the six new people in the room. Computers and monitors kept on writing data and performing scans and analyzing information. All this was done by Danni.
"Yo, Danni. Can we talk?" Collin asked. Danni remained perfectly still. A printer near them started printing a piece of paper. Connor picked it up and looked at it.
"'What do need? I'm busy.' "Connor read the paper. "You know you could save paper just by talking to us." He told her.
"I am busy working on monitoring Wolfram and Hart." A computer screen read and spoke in a robotic accent. This was Danni talking. "What do you need?"
"Uh...you actually talking to us. We need your input." Kathy told her. Danni closed her eyes and all of the equipment seemed to pause midway through whatever they were doing.
"All IT personal, please report o room 176. All IT personal, please report to room 176." A voice over the loudspeaker said. Room 176 was the room they were all in. Seconds later, people started entering the room and sitting at computer desks and monitors and started working on them, taking up where Danni left off. Danni sighed and hoped off the table.
"You do realize I was midway through gathering up all information on potential slayers around the globe." Danni told them as she walked passed them and picked up several pieces of paper that was just printed. "Also I was gathering any information or our Orb if there was any, and picking chatter on every single network and phone line in the world on Wolfram and Hart operations."
"Got anything?" Delia asked.
"Yeah. Thousands." Danni said as they exited the room. "All of them tied to radical groups threatening world domination and overthrowing countries to bring back better times and shit like that. I was able to re-write some data to make it seem like Wolfram and Hart's trying to screw over their business partners. And I also made it easy for them to find so once that's out in the open, they'll drop Wolfram and Hart."
"Way to go, Dan." Collin praised her as they all entered into a conference room. Riley and his wife, Sam, were already in the room. Sam was typing on a laptop.
"Hey, any progress?" Riley asked them.
"Two more girls. That makes a dozen now." Kathy told him. "Danni's foiling Wolfram and Hart plans across oceans while also monitoring chatter on our Orb and searching for potential slayers."
"Got the info right here." Danni handed the pieces of paper over to Riley who looked them over.
"There coordinates just about every country on earth." Riley said.
"Places where potential slayers are located. Every single one in the world, there they are."
"How many are there?"
"Two thousand."
"Two thousand? Geez that's a lot."
"Well, it ain't gonna mean shit if we can't take out The First Evil." Kathy said sitting in a chair and popping her feet onto the table.
"Well, I'm open to ideas. If the First has all of our powers, which it does, it's not going to be easy." Danni said.
"Why can't we just crush his skull in?" Connor asked punching his fist into his hand.
"A loveable as that plan is, The First is practically protected by his new found power. If anything, we need to weaken him to the brink before we do any skull crushing." Liam said.
"Liam's right. You don't attack a force head on unless they're weaken to appoint where they can't fight back." Sam said.
"Alright. What's your angle?" Bill asked sitting by Kathy.
"The First Evil is pretty much, evil incarnated." Kathy began to speak. "We need to hit him with everything that repels evil."
"So what? Like Cross's, holy water, salt, iron?" Collin asked.
"Something like that." Kathy took her feet off the table and sat up. "I'm thinking of something a little more weaponized."
"What? Like a nuclear response?" Riley asked.
"If we strike with a nuclear attack, The First would surely absorb the raw power. He wouldn't need an army, he'll just wipe us all out with that much power." Delia said.
"Delia's right. Nuclear response should be plan 'never'." Liam said. "We actually something small in mind. Just as deadly, and in no way would The First be able to absorb."
"Whatcha have in mind?" Bill asked. Kathy took out his pistol and took out the magazine. She popped out a bullet and casing and placed it on the table.
"A bullet." Kathy said.
"A bullet will kill The First?" Delia asked.
"Yes. But we need a special bullet. One made up of an alloy of Iron and Silver. Repellents of evil."
"Think it'll work?" Riley asked.
"Not really. Which is why we'll need it to be blessed by a priest and finally coated in what little dragons blood we have left."
"Dragons' blood? You mean…?" Colin asked.
"The same our armor is coated in." Liam told him. "We get this bullet with all of this….we might have our magic bullet. No pun intended."
"I think it was." Kathy said.
"Ok, loving this plan…but what about plan B?" Delia asked. Everyone's head turned to her. "I mean…there's guarantee that this'll work. Even if the bullet does somehow weaken him, it may not kill him. So what's our backup plan?"
"She's right. There's no way we can know if it'll work." Danni said.
"Well, if there's a better idea, I'm all ears." Kathy said, sitting back down and putting her feet up. Everyone remained silent as they all thought of any new plans. None were coming to mind. Every idea that they had been coming up with in the past week had been shot down. This 'magic bullet' idea was the best they got for the moment.
"I have an idea." Riley spoke up. Everyone turned their heads to look at him. "It's a little risk."
"Riley, this is The First Evil. Risky isn't really a factor in this." Kathy said.
"Your parents once did it and they came out on top."
"Just spit it out."
"Well…a few years ago, when the Initiative was still operating, our director built this cyborg demon human as a potential weapon."
"Wait, wait. I think I know of this." Collin said. "Trying to combine supernatural with natural. Scores of secret government operations have tried this before."
"And they've usual failed thanks to us or their creations backfired onto them." Bill said.
"And that was the case with this. The thing was named Adam. It terrorized us for a while." Riley explained more.
"Wait, I remember this story." Delia said. "Buffy faced it and she had to combine herself with her friends in order to be powerful enough to kill it."
"Right. They used an enjoining spell." Danni said. "But there were side effects."
"What side effects?" Connor asked.
"Everyone experienced dreams of The First Slayer, killing them, feeling angry that the slayer had to rely on friends for help."
"Well fuck The First Slayer and The First Evil." Kathy said getting up again. "In fact, fuck any firsts at all. We're here, we make the decisions. Anybody objects, suck my dick."
"I love it when she starts talking like that." Bill commented. Everyone smiled and listened to Kathy berate.
"We're going through with the bullet, and the spell is last resort. Danni you get the materials needed for the spell?"
"I'll need to see where it is first. They might have it with them." Danni said.
"Who's they?" Sam asked.
"Our parents." Liam said. "Which actually may work in our favor. Danni, we lost our girl tonight, but if you can take her place, you can infiltrate the Scoobies and search for that book, and you can protect them if need be. But just be careful around your mom and everyone. Any signs of awkwardness, and they'll be suspicious. We can't let that happen…yet."
"Don't worry. I can play my role. Who was your girl?"
"Her name was Eve." Kathy sliding over her phone with a picture of the dead girl. Danni picked up the phone and looked at it.
"Aw. Couldn't get me a picture of her alive?"
"Everything happened fast. Can you do it?" Danni snapped her fingers and in a swirl a lights, transformed herself into Eve.
"I think I can manage it." Danni said as Eve in a southern accent.
"Nice. While you're there, get a look at what their defense is like. Training routines, weaponry, protection, everything you can find." Liam told her.
Danni gave a salute. "On it boss."
"Go girl. In the meantime, we'll work on or bullet." Kathy said.
"I'll send out units to these locations to grab the girls." Riley said holding the pieces of paper.
"I'll monitor mission control form here." Sam said. "Anything new we need to know?"
"Wolfram and Hart's not picking up us. Our security is top notch. All they'll see is unimportant talks over possible partisan cooperation's within congress." Danni said.
"Awesome guys. Let's go to work." Kathy said. The meeting adjourned and everyone went their separate ways. Kathy and Liam led the rest of the team to Father William Donlan to work on the bullet, Danni as Eve went to the Summers house, and Riley and Sam were operating their forces to pick up potential slayers and bring them to Sunnydale.
…
Three Days Later
The past three days had been no walk in the park to anyone. Riley and Sam dispatched forces to pick up potentials across the country and a few around the world. Their success rate was half of the girls found were brought back alive. The other half were either missing and or dead. Danni, going undercover as Eve, hadn't reported back to them since she left. She had been studying the Scoobies strength and the potentials training to see where they were on defense. They needed a lot of work, according to Kathy's standards. And Danni had been searching for the enjoining spell as plan B for when they would all face The First. She found it the first day upon looking and studied it. There were a number of problems. One: it had to be conducted within spitting distance of the slayer they were performing it on. Two: they couldn't be interrupted. Not to mention the after effects of The First Slayer, but no one was really worried about that. No one even had the thought of the spell on their minds besides Danni.
Liam, Kathy, and their team were in the basement of Father Donlan's Church. Fir the past three days, they had been trying to create their 'magic bullet' for The First Evil. Problem was, every try they took, it ended in failure. At first they were being stupid in trying to combine silver and iron into a single solid bullet. That process took the entire first day. It was only at the end that they found out that the two metals couldn't mix properly. On the second day, they threw out iron and went with silver. They fashioned thirteen silver bullets and tried pouring little contents of the dragon's blood Liam stored in the storage unit onto one bullet. Father Donlan would then bless the bullet to finish the process. The bullet melted right through the table. The second attempt, they tried fashioning the bullet while Father Donlan blessed it. After pouring dragons blood on it, it crumbled to dust. Three, four, five, six, ten times they tried, each attempt ended in failure. And the biggest problem they had was that they only a small beaker of dragons blood to start. Now they were down to barley a taste. They were nearly close to giving up.
Every one of the White Hats, minus Danni, and Father Donlan was sitting around the basement of the Church, looking defeated and tired. They had been up all night trying to make their bullet, and they were no closer than when they came up with the idea. Three bullets remained for testing and they were sitting on their working table that had many burns and scorch marks from previous attempts. Nothing was working.
"It's hopeless." Bill said.
"I am actually agreeing with him on this subject." Collin said and sighed. "We've been at this for two days straight. We could've been using that time to come up with a more effective plan."
"Well in case you haven't been paying attention, we've also been talking about that while doing this. There isn't a better plan." Kathy said frustratingly. She'd been telling everyone that for the past day.
"I keep reminding you guys about the spell." Delia told them.
"That spell has after effects, not to mention we don't know if it'll do the trick." Liam told her.
"I'm actually with Delia on this. The Spell sounds like a sure safe-fire way of doing this." Connor said.
"Really? You keep on saying how magic sucks. Now that we are facing the ultimate evil, you're on board?" Kathy asked.
"I'm up for anything that doesn't get me or my family killed."
"And we back you up. But this plan is quickly going downhill." Collin said.
"We haven't tried everything." Father Donlan spoke up. "We haven't failed yet. We still have three bullets, and enough blood for all of them. We can still make this work."
"Forgive me, Father, for not being optimistic as you, but we've tried ten ways now. It's all failed." Bill said.
"When Christian missionaries went to different locations around the world, preaching The Lord's word, did they give up because people were ignorant? When Noah was given the talk to build a large boat, even though he was nowhere near water, did he give up? And when you people, you and your parents, face evil and death in the eye, did you all give up?" Father Donlan asked them all. Kathy was the only one who raised her hand at that. "Well I know fully well why you did, but the rest of you persevered. And you came back. Just because something is hard, or impossible, doesn't mean we give up. What is possible today, many believed to be impossible a long time ago. This is possible. And I will stay her and help in every way I can." Everyone was silent after hearing Father Donlan preach to them. Even though none of them were truly religious, there was something about a priest's sermon that touched them all. Kathy got up off her chair she was sitting in and picked up one of the bullets.
"What if we tried holy water with it?" She asked the group.
"Might give a little holiness to it." Liam theorized.
"Holy Water does harm demons." Delia reminded them.
"Let's try it." So they tried again. The first bullet was doused with Holy Water before being covered in dragon's blood and blessed. The bullet burned up and exploded in a small explosion. They at least tried one more time. This time covering the bullet in dragon's blood, dousing it with Holy Water, and then blessing it. The bullet melted, as it did other times in the past couple of days.
Liam sighed angrily. "This is getting us nowhere."
"We have to try." Delia said.
"Try? We just tried two more times. We got one bullet left and just enough blood for that one try." Kathy reminded her.
"Well then maybe it's our lucky number."
"13? Yeah, cause everyone's had luck with 13 in the past." Collin said sarcastically.
"I've got an idea." Connor said. "What if we do everything we've been doing…"
"And fail once more?" Bill interrupted.
"At the same time." Connor finished. Everyone grew silent again and thought about it. They never tried doing everything they've been doing all at once. It seemed a little risky, but then again, what other choice did they have?
"Let's try it." Liam said. He held the blood over the bullet and Kathy held the Holy Water. Father Donlan, with a rosary, started chanting in Latin. Kathy and Liam poured the water and blood over the bullet. They finished, as did Father Donlan. Everyone stood around the bullet and watched. The blood started soaking up into the bullet with the water. It hardened and the bullet glowed a red glow before vanishing. The bullet didn't turn to dust or melt or do anything that it had done before. Kathy carefully extend her hand and picked up the bullet with her thumb and index finger. Delicately trying not to do anything that might ruin their new creation. Everyone leaned in close to examine the bullet.
"I think we got a winner." Kathy said smiling.
"But will it destroy The First?" Bill asked.
"Only one way to find out." Liam said. "Let's get back to Command. See where Danni is."
…
They all arrived back at the Sunnydale Army Base where they were being briefed on their current status. Of the twelve potential they had, six more joined the team and the bodies of those they didn't get to in time were laid to rest properly. Wolfram and Hart was being fed false intelligence to keep them from finding out about them, and sources say that The First had been in the LA branch but left, possibly for Sunnydale.
The White Hats were having a meeting with Riley and Sam on future plans for US military involvement with Wolfram and Hart, their involvement with hostile countries, as well as Crow soldiers being shipped to various parts of the world. They were planning on sending in Special Operation Forces to those places to redirect or stop Crow shipments. Then Sam brought up something important.
"On another topic, we have confirmed reports of people searching for Liam in LA." Sam said.
"Do we know who these guys are?" Liam asked.
"Wesley Wyndum-Price, Charles Gunn, Winifred Burkle, and an unidentified demon helping them." Riley listed of the names form a piece of paper.
"Lorne." Liam filled in the name and leaned back in his chair and sighed. "If they get word to Wolfram and Hart that there's a possibility that I'm still alive, they'll go after our families as soon as we blink."
"We can have a tram go and pick them up." Riley suggested.
"Make it so. And get them here fast. I don't really care how, just get them here." Kathy ordered. Before they stated anything else, the door to the conference room burst open and Danni was standing there, looking flushed.
"Danni? What's wrong?" Kathy asked standing up.
"They got onto me. I had to leave." Danni said. She was referring to the Scoobies.
"Do they know who you are?" Liam asked.
"No. They think I'm The First."
"They're gonna be in for a surprise." Bill commented.
"How'd they find out?" Collin asked.
"They found Eve's body."
"Dammit. I thought we sent a team there." Liam said.
"We must've forgot. Get over it." Kathy told him.
"Guys, there's more." Danni said. "I've been meditating in secret for the past couple of days. I sense a disturbance in the force."
"The Dark Side?" Connor asked.
"As dark as it gets." Danni answered.
"The First?" Delia asked.
"Sending his favorite assassin vamp to take care of the girls and our parents."
"They'll can hold it off for a time. Mom was able to take the Turrok-Han out." Kathy said.
"Yeah. But I sensed a whole mess of them. And I think that some Crow soldiers are in on it too."
"We have the reports of most Crow locations and troop strengths." Sam said. "There was one of about 20 that we couldn't account for that just seemed to vanish."
"They didn't vanish. They're here. To finish off our parents if the one Turrok-Han failed." Collin said.
"Whatever ever's happening, it's happening tonight." Danni said.
"What's the play, Kat?" Bill asked. Everyone's eyes turned to Kathy for instructions. Things were heating fast to a boiling point.
"Riley, assemble the Marines. Three Blackhawks, three Cobra's. Have them outfitted for a night assault." Riley nodded and left the room to get the Marines. "Sam, work Mission Control from here. Get surveillance on wherever we're going. Do we know where we're going?" Kathy asked Danni.
"We will. Slipped a bug into Angel's coat pocket." Danni said.
"Nice job. Track that bug and get a fixed location." Sam nodded and left for the IT room. "Ok, if we're doing this, there's no turning back. We need get these guys fast and hard. Chances are that The First is going to be there. It wouldn't miss a chance at defeating The Slayer."
"What's the extraction going to be like?" Collin asked.
"Danni fly's in first, shields everyone as the Cobra's mow down the place. Blackhawks circle until opportunity arises and they land, getting everyone board. We jump out and take on and stragglers, handling The First for last."
"Plan of attack?" Bill asked.
"Hit his fast, hit him hard. Don't let up, don't back down. Once the shot open's, I'll take it."
"Ever notice how our plans always sound so simple until we actually do them?" Danni asked sarcastically.
"If it was so simple, we would've done it two weeks ago. Eagle Eye, get your best quiver and assortment of arrows. You'll be hitting The First with everything you got." Kathy said. Collin nodded. "Destroyer, first, how do you like the name?"
"It works." Connor said smiling. It was his name when he was in Quor'ototh as a child. Now it suits him today.
"Good. Destroyer, you're the strongest on our team. You crush this guy in every way you see possible. If it seems hard, hit him with it." Connor nodded and smiled, liking his role in the plan. "Blackbird, you're our big gun. You gotta make him keep most of his attention on you. You're our God. Show him that." Danni nodded, understanding her part. "Midnight and Pirate will deal with some of the distracting and providing cover for me." Kathy continued. "Hopefully our plan will open up a shot for me."
"What about me?" Delia asked.
"De, I need you to be on the sidelines."
"No way! Not gonna happen." Delia answered angrily. "I've been in the past longer than you and faced a lot of impossible odds. I've done everything you've asked of me. Hell, you and Liam would have been dead ten times over if it wasn't for me."
"And that's why I need you in reserve. Blackbird, what's the trick with the spell?" Kathy asked Danni.
"I already got the gourd, candles, and some cards." Danni answered.
"How long will you need?"
"A few minutes. But Kathy, once I start, I can't stop. And I can't do it if I'm distracting The First. It has to be done by someone else. And in close proximity."
"I'm not risking any lives that aren't necessary for something like this. We may have to put all of our money on the bullet."
"That's risky. Even for us." Liam said.
"It's really our only option."
…
Later that day, the White hats had discussed and mostly everyone was in agreement for using the bullet plan. Delia wasn't so much in agreement, believing it would do some damage but nothing permanent. But she couldn't really argue with everyone if she was arguing by herself. Even Liam was keen to using the bullet.
The team was assembled in the conference room, wearing their armor and had their personal weapons sheathed on them. Connor had found a metal bat lying around and liked the thought of using it to bash in demon's heads. Nobody minded. They were all waiting and talking when Sam opened up the door to the room. "Guys, suns going down. Activity's happening at the house."
Riley entered a second later. "The team's assembled. Ready on your go."
"Get them in the choppers. We leave once we're on." Kathy told them. The Finn's nodded and left. "Where's the spell stuff?"
"In the room across from the IT room." Danni answered.
"Don't bother getting it. We need to go now. We got our bullet. Now all we need to do is pray that it works."
"Father Donlan's already doing that for us." Connor said.
"Yeah well, I think we need him and everyone else as well. Gear up. We leave in five." The team started assembling out. Liam was held back by Delia. They waited until they were alone in the room. Now they faced each other and felt like how they were before their team came back with them. Just the two of them together.
"Liam, this plan is…I don't like this plan." Delia said honestly.
"Yeah? I don't like it either. But it's all we got." Liam said.
"We have the spell. It could work."
"The spell needs to be in proximity. The First has all of our powers. It'll know what we're doing before we even start. This is the only chance we have."
"But the spell, we could do it here and send me off…"
"Delia, no! The spell has after effects. Last time it warned my mother. What if this time it actually tries to kill us for real?"
"It's better than dealing with an all-powerful Evil. Liam, I believe this can work."
"Believe all you want. We don't have time. We gotta go and save my family, again." Liam turned to walk out of the door.
"I have a really bad feeling about this." Delia called to him.
"Then maybe were doing something right." Liam told her as he left. Delia shook her head, thinking that what they were currently going to do wasn't going to end well for anyone, but she put her doubtful thoughts away and left to suit up.
Minutes later, three Blackhawk helicopters and three Cobra attack helicopters were revving up and their rotator blades began to spin. A group of Marines, as well of as the White Hats, ran out from a building, in full combat gear with weapons, and ran straight for the helicopters. They all piled in, the summers siblings on chopper, the rest of the team on another, and Danni standing waiting to take off by herself. Kathy gave the signal by using her thumb to point up. Danni nodded and started float up as the helicopters started hovering above the ground and rising. Danni looked to her data pad on her wrist and tracked the tracking bug to the high school. She gave the location to the choppers and everyone was off.
Minute later, Danni appeared in the crowd of potential slayers and their families, shielding them as the Cobra choppers flew overhead, unleashing hot lead hell upon the Turrok-Hans and the Crow Soldiers. Everything was so chaotic, no one knew what exactly was going on. Soon the area was clear enough for the Blackhawks to land and the Marines got out, along with the White Hats. The white Hats moved to the shield and fired just outside of it at the remaining Soldiers and Vampires. The Marines escorted the Scoobies and the potentials to the choppers, getting in and taking off, without the White Hats. Danni took down the shield and everyone dropped their guns, taking out their personal weapons and finishing off the stragglers. The First was all that was left of his force to take on The Slayer, and now he was facing The Slayers children and their group of fighters.
…
The three Blackhawks with the Scoobies landed at the military base shortly after rescuing them. Riley waited for them on the landed strip with several commandos, waiting to escort them to rooms for care and briefing. Riley had a feeling that Buffy was gonna ask questions and most likely try to do whatever it took to see her children or know about whatever was going on. So it was best to let her know about everything he knew.
The Blackhawks landed and the first thing Buffy saw when getting off was Riley. Bewildered that he might somehow involve in this, she started to storm on over to him, the Scoobies not too far behind. Some of the commandos were gathering up the potentials and leading them to the building where the other potentials were.
"Riley? What the hell's going on?!" Buffy immediately asked.
"Hello to you too." Riley said with a bit of a smirk. "It's been a while."
"Yeah. About a year again. What's going on?" Buffy asked again.
"Riley? Way to save our asses at the last minute." Xander said. coming over with the gang.
"Oi, soldier boy." Spike said. "Who invited you?"
"Believe it or not, your son. Which is what this is all about." Riley answered.
"Do you plan on filling us in or are you just going to make us stand out here in the cold?" Faith asked.
"Follow me." Riley turned and started to lead the Scoobies inside the command center building. He led the all through the hallways to the command room with Buffy right behind him, wondering how Riley was involved if they would have another Initiative crisis on their hands. They entered the command room where people on computers were busy typing and looking through data. Big screen TV monitors had satellite pictures and data on them. Sam was in the room, standing with her arms crossed, looking over everyone progress. She turned when the new arrivals came in.
"Hey, good to see you guys again." She greeted them.
"Sam, what's going on?" Buffy asked the question again and getting straight to the point. Before Sam could answer, the door to the command center opened and the whole AI team entered with commandos escorting them. The commandos left them to talk.
"Buffy?" Wesley asked.
"Man, what is going on? The man taking us like were criminals." Gunn said looking upset.
"Are we under arrest?" Fred asked.
"No one's under arrest. We're still figuring out what's going on." Angel told them.
"Not under arrest? Then why were those guys giving me funny looks?" Lorne asked.
"Sam, Riley, what's going on?" Buffy asked the Finn's. Riley opened his mouth but before he said anything, the doors opened again and Giles and Anya came into the room, they too escorted by commandos who left them with the group.
"Buffy, are you alright?" Giles immediately asked.
"Riley? Is this Imitative here again?" Anya asked.
"No, we're actually here for something different." Riley explained.
"OK! I'm gonna ask one more time what the hell's going on and someone had better give me a straight fucking answer!" Buffy yelled. Her outburst got the attention of everyone in the room, including the IT people working on the computers.
"Perhaps we should take this into the other room." Sam said and led the now massive group in the conference room they had been using for the past two weeks. Xander, Anya, Dawn, Gunn, Lorne, and Fred all took seats at the table while the rest of the group stood. Sam and Riley stood at the front of the table.
"Ok, Buffy. What would you like to know first?" Riley asked.
"How about 'what the fuck's going on?'" Buffy answered rather angrily. No one was giving her an answer.
"You ever faced her this pissed before?" Spike asked Angel in a whisper.
"Sometimes. Usually it's because I did something stupid. Glad it's not me." Angel whispered back.
"Alright." Riley said and sighed, composing his thoughts. "Two weeks ago, I got a call from Liam. He said his home was destroyed, documents burned, resources gone, basically he wanted my help."
"So you enlisted him into the military?" Xander asked.
"No exactly." Sam said. "He told us about what happened. The First Evil. The thing all evil comes form and shit. It's corporeal."
"Yeah. Caught the show about a half hour ago." Faith said.
"Yeah, well…Liam told us that he was responsible." Riley said.
"What?!" Buffy asked in disbelief.
"Unintentionally." Sam clarified. Didn't really help Buffy. "Apparently, something was growing inside. He and his team got it out but it got all of their powers and formed into The First's human body. Now's recruiting and gathering his forces to take on the world and you guys. We've been monitoring everything from here over the past two weeks."
"Two weeks? And Liam's been the whole time?" Buffy asked.
"Mostly." Riley said. "He and the rest have been volunteering to go out and save potential slayers all over the country. We got fifteen in the past two weeks."
"Fifteen?" Willow asked in awe.
"Yeah. We saw who we believed to be potentials you've got and sent them to others to mingle and settle in for a time. Take a breather."
"And what about Liam?" Buffy asked. "I saw him…along with Connor…and who I believed was my daughter, come in with commandos, saving our asses, but left them there with The First."
"That was there plan. Danni had been undercover and found that you all were going to be attacked." Sam said.
"Danni? My daughter?" Willow asked.
"Yeah, she was in disguise as a dead potential we found a few days ago."
"Eve." Faith told Buffy. Buffy nodded back and looked to the Finn's.
"They all geared up and got a rescue team to get you guys out. They were going to stay behind and take on The First." Riley said.
"Stay behind? They're fighting an unstoppable force!" Buffy yelled. "That thing is corporeal. It can destroy this entire world and they think they can fight it!?"
"Buffy! They have a plan. They've been working nonstop for the past two weeks trying to find a solution and they may have one."
"What is it?"
"They made a bullet." Sam said.
"A bullet?" Wesley and Giles said together.
"Yeah. They say it's coated in some blood that makes it an all killable bullet."
"Dragon's blood." Giles whispered. Everyone's head turned towards him. "When Liam was in England, he had trouble with a demon that he made a deal with. The demon wanted dragons blood form the Watchers Council. Liam broke in and got it and then we killed the demon. I had no idea that he kept some."
"Well if this works, you'll be glad he did." Riley said.
"So, Liam and I'm assuming all of our kids is right now facing the Source of All Evil?" Gunn asked. The Finn's nodded.
"Were dead." Anya said.
"No, wait." Dawn spoke up. "Liam's proven himself to face impossible odds before. Now with a little bit of help, he could make it."
"He's gonna need more help than what he's got. We need to go back and help." Angel said.
"Agreed. All who want to come, come." Buffy ordered.
"I'm in for a decent brawl." Spike said.
"Me too. If my son's there, he's not doing this alone." Faith said.
"You can't." Riley told them.
"Riley, there's not much that can stop me from doing this." Buffy told him as she and Angel, Faith, and Spike started for the door.
"Kathy doesn't want you to." Riley said. That statement stopped Buffy in her tracks. Kathy. Her daughter's name. All she ever heard for the past year was Liam or Connor. Very rarely has there been mention of Kathy. Word was she was dead. Now she's here and doesn't want Buffy to fight. Buffy turned back around to face the Finn's. "She doesn't want you to." Riley repeated. "None of them want any of you near this. You've already done your part in defeating that super vampire. Now it's their turn. Kathy's words: it's their mess, they'll clean it up."
"Riley, I can't just sit here and do nothing. I have to at least see what they're doing." Buffy told them.
"Way ahead of you." Sam said. She pulled out a remote and aimed it at the big screen behind them. The lights dimmed in the room and the screen turned on. It was a live video feed of the construction site they were just at. The White Hats were all formed in fighting stances, starring down at The First Evil. "They had a feeling you'd want to at least watch. The potentials have their own screen and are watching now. Delia really wanted that."
"Great. Movie night and me without popcorn." Lorne said sarcastically and became quite once the sound was on. Everyone stayed silent as they watched.
…
The White Hats were all standing, in full armor and wielding weapons, starring at The First Evil rise from the cinderblock rubble he landed into and walk towards them. The whole ride over, it was a silent trip. They all knew what was about to happen, what they were about to do. Did they have any doubts, any private deserting thoughts? Perhaps, but no one said a word. Not on the ride to the site, not when they landed, and not when they stared down at The First Evil. Not a word. Until…
"Lucy, I'm home!" Collin called to The First.
"You all? You're supposed to be dead." The First told them.
"Are we not?" Kathy asked sarcastically.
"I have your memories. I know of that power I unleashed. No one could survive it."
"Ta-Da." Bill said, posing with his swords to show that he and everyone were alive.
"See, here's the thing douchebag. We Summers, killing us, that's the easy part. The hard part is making sure we stay dead." Kathy said.
"Well, I'll make sure that this time you will stay dead." The First shot back.
"There won't be a next time, pal." Collin said. He pressed the buttons on the control grip o his bow and his quiver screwed in a particular arrow. Collin withdrew it and fired at The First. The First caught it with one hand, the arrow tip inches from his body. The Arrow exploded a second later, masking The First in smoke. The smoke cleared and The First stood where he was, completely unharmed.
"Really? Is that the best you can do?" The First taunted.
"Opening act." Danni said. She raised a hand and shot a beam of light energy at The First. The First flicked its wrist and the energy beam deflected away. Danni shot another beam and The First deflected that one too. Danni got a little clever and shot one beam, than shot another a few seconds after. The First deflected The First beam, but the second one hit him. He stumbled back but got his footing.
The First chuckled a little. "And here I thought I was meeting…The Avengers. Earth's Mightiest Heroes. And you all can't hurt me." The First saw the group before him and counted six heads. One person among them was missing. And he knew who.
A gun was placed to the side of his head. "Yeah? Well guess what?" Kathy asked, holding the gun to his head. The first turned to look at her. "We can now. So suck it." Kathy fired, shooting the blood bullet into The Firsts head. The Firsts head flicks back and collapsed to the ground, a big bullet wound in the middle of his forehead. Everyone starred at the corpse in front of them, some feeling amazed that they accomplished their goal, some thinking how it all seemed simple in the first place.
Kathy looked to her friends, her family, and saw their faces of joy and relief, and she too felt those feelings. Their biggest worry seemed to have left them all. All except one, who looked upon the corpse and thought to herself that it was too easy. Delia wasn't buying that all they had to do was just shoot this guy.
The First's corpse on the ground inhaled sharply and shifted positons on the ground. "Owww…." It moaned. The First got out onto its feet. The team looked upon the newly resurrected body in horror. They just took their best shot, and The First came up standing. The First looked to Kathy, who was looking particularly horrified, and realized that the bullet shot was coated in dragon's blood. "Nice shot." The First commented, then punched Kathy hard, sending her flying into wall. She slammed hard on it and crumpled to the ground. The group saw Kathy land and turned back to The First. The First's wound healed up instantly. "Now, where were we?" It asked.
"But, but…no. That's' impossible." Liam said in disbelief.
"Don't feel bad Liam. Like I told Alistair. Nine times out of ten, anything coated in the blood of a dragon will kill anything with form. I just so happen to be that tenth."
"Dude that is messed up." Collin said. Kathy stirred on the ground and shifted to look at the scene before her.
"Try as you might, you can defeat me. I am forever. Even if you were defeat this form, it will already be too late. The Four Horsemen have been unleashed. Wolfram and Hart extend to all corners of the globe. The Crows will kill every last slayer and potential. And then, the end of the world."
"Less talking. More hitting." Kathy ordered and charged with her scythe. Everyone else raised their weapons and charged too. Kathy got really close but stopped in midair, hovering as The First held out its hand. The rest of the team moved in, but was stopped as they were suspended on midair, same as Kathy. Their limbs extended out in a manner like crucifix.
"Sorry, but let's even the playing field, shall we?" The First started to close its hands in a slow manner. The White Hats began to groan and gritted their teeth in pain. Their armor was closing in on their entire bodies, crushing them.
"D-D-Da-Danni." Liam said through the pain. Danni opened her eyes, revealing them to be complete yellow. The White disappeared from their armors in a white mist, floated down, and formed the White Hats again. They weren't wearing their armor, only their under armor skin suits, belts, and boots. Their armors above them crushed together, forming metal balls. The metal balls floated through the air, around The First, who looked too happy. He flicked his wrist and the balls sped towards the White Hats. Saving them again, Danni got in front and maneuvered her arms in a marital like form, creating a big portal, large enough for the balls of metal to enter into. The portal closed, just as fast as it opened.
"Care to take a trip to the core of the sun? Cause that's where you'll get that metal. I doubt even that can survive the sun's power." Danni said. The First clapped his hands.
"Bravo. Very impressive. But now, we still have a dilemma. See, there are seven of you, and only one of me. Hardly seems fair." The First said.
"Since when have you ever done things fair?" Connor asked angrily.
"Point. But let's try it." The First raised his hand and seven smoky figures appeared from the ground. "You constantly fight others. But what about…each other?" The smoky figures took a form, and the White Hats stood in amazement and shock when they saw who they were fighting now. The figures took on their forms. The White Hats starred into the faces of themselves, staring back, evilly. But these White Hat were different. They were all more evil looking. Their skins were gray, their weapons more evil looking with some razors on the edges and demonic engravings. Even Connor's evil counterpart had himself a spiked mace, compared to Connor's metal bat. Their eyes glowed red with evil.
"Shit." Delia said stunned.
"I always figured I was taller." Collin commented. Kathy waked forward, same as her evil counterpart.
"We lost before. What makes you think we can win this time?" Evil Kathy said. She punched Kathy hard and sent her flying.
Liam saw the fight and turned to see his own evil counterpart approaching him. "This is all our fault. We held the darkness, and now the world will end." Evil Liam said before engaging the real Liam. Liam ducked the attack and blocked his Evil's sickle with his own.
Bill met up with his evil twin. His evil twin put his two swords together at the pommel and twirled them. "Youngest, weakest, and most useless part of this team." Evil Bill said and attacked. Bill went on the defensive and fought, really himself.
Danni starred down at her evil self, who started to glow red. "Power corrupts. Absolute power, corrupts absolutely. And on this team, we have the most power. We are Gods. Our mother nearly destroyed the world. Maybe this time, we'll complete what she started." Evil Danni said and sent a beam of red energy at Danni. Danni dodged the attack, and her eyes glowed yellow and her hair turned to fire. She hovered in the air above the ground before shooting up into the air, her other self following her.
Delia held her sword up as her doppelgänger approached. "We love the demon. We can't help but love him. But what hope to do we have to make him notice us. He loves his family more than us. He has killed our kind before. He cares nothing for us." Evil Delia said and attacked. Delia parried the blow and fought with herself.
Collin saw the fighting his team was doing with themselves, not entirely believing any of it, then quickly dodged an incoming arrow. He looked and saw his evil twin on a cargo container, aiming another arrow at him. Collin quickly grabbed one of his arrows and fired, just as his evil self fired. The arrows collided and blew up. Evil Collin appeared out of the smoke and tried to hit Collin with a machete form his quiver.
"Slacker." Swing and miss. "Child." Sing and miss. "We joke. We come from a joker. He was weak. And so are we." Evil Collin said.
"Says you. I got a seat at the big table. I'm gonna paint my name on it." Collin replied.
"We will never stand with those with power. We have none."
"You forget. My father was the heart of his team. And he stopped apocalypses with his head and mouth." Collin charged at his evil self. Evil Collin swung with his machete. Collin sucked and rolled, getting to his feet, smiling. "Tick, tick, boom." Collin told his evil self before running away. Evil Collin heard a beeping and looked behind him to see an explosive device. The device blew up, taking him with it. "Amateur."
Connor held his bat tight and tapped the bottom of his boot with it. Evil Connor approached with his mace. "We are an abomination." Evil Connor said. He raised his mace and brought it down in an arc. Connor tried to block it with his bat, but the bat broke upon impact. Connor fell to the ground. "Our father never truly loved us. Our true mother killed herself to not deal with us. We were betrayed by he who called himself our father. We are unloved, unimportant, not worth a damn to anyone." Evil Connor raised his mace and brought it down. Connor raised his feet and blocked the mace with his feet at the shaft.
"If that's true, then why did my brother sacrifice his life twice for me?" Connor pushed up and flipped to his feet. "Why did my father and new mother spend so much time caring for me?" Evil Connor raised his mace. Connor punched him and he lost his mace. "I am loved. I'm sociopathic, but loved." Connor picked up the mace, approached his evil self, and proceeded to bash in his skull. "And you whine too much."
Kathy was fighting a losing fight with herself of all people. "We gave up on our family." Evil Kathy said and swung her scythe. Kathy moved out of the way. "We betrayed those we love." Evil Kathy swung, making the real Kathy block with her scythe. The scythes made contact, locking them in place. "We were the one to look to for inspiration. We are now a bitter disappointment."
"Would you stop with this 'we' talk. It's only me. And 'me' says to kick your ass." Kathy said and broke he lock. She attacked but even her evil self was just as powerful and clever as she was. Evil Kathy dodged the attack and swung, catching Kathy at the side. Kathy screamed in pain as the scythe hitting her side, made a very deep cut. She shrugged off the pain and reengaged.
Liam was having just a hard time with himself as his sister. Every blow he tried to deliver, his evil self knew it and blocked before striking. Liam barely had time to defend. "We are just like our father. Just like Angelus." Evil Liam taunted. He swung with his sickle and tripped Liam unto his back. "He tried to destroy the world. And we will be the cause for it this time. He are finally his true son."
"Fuck you." Liam shot back and rolled as his evil self swung down, penetrating the ground. Liam got up and back away, trying to think of a plan.
Delia was having trouble as her evil self was more aggressive than she was. She was doing more attacking than Delia. Delia was only trying not to die. Evil Delia was backing Delia up further and further to where Liam and Kathy had regrouped. Bill was just the same, fighting himself who was more skilled than him for some reason. Evil Bill twirled his dual sword and was making Bill use more energy in blocking and dodging than he was attacking. He with a high blow which Bill blocked, but quickly attacked from below, slicing at Bill's thigh. Bill grunted in pain as the slice was clean and very deep. Bill shook it off and back away, limping, reaching his fellow team mates who were all facing similar dilemmas.
"Bullocks. I didn't know I was this good." Bill said.
"You're not. I can kick you're a…" Kathy stopped mid-sentence as an idea formed her head. The thought jumped into all of their heads.
"I hope everyone's thinking what I hope were thinking." Liam said.
"Switch dance partners." Delia said.
"On three. Ready? Three!" Kathy gave the order. Immediately, everyone started fighting someone else. Liam took on Evil Kathy. Kathy took on Evil Bill. Bill fought Evil Delia. And Delia fought her Evil husband.
Liam fought better against his evil sister. "You know what I hate most about you? When things got really bad for us, you left me alone. Right when I needed you the most." Liam said, saying his inner most feeling toward his sister. He swung his sickle and they both got caught in a lock. Liam used it to his advantage and maneuvered Evil Kathy passed him, making her stumble a little. Liam used his sickle to catch her foot and trip her, then proceed to stab her repeatedly in the abdomen. "No offense."
Kathy battle well against Evil Bill. Evil Bill's double sword was good on offense but not on defense. Kathy attacked While Evil Bill blocked, forcing him back. Evil Bill tried attacking, but Kathy went underneath the attack of the blade and kicked Evil Bill in the back. Kathy reengaged and swung in an under arc strike. Evil Bill blocked it and they caught themselves in a blade lock. Kathy pushed hard and broke the lock, knocking Evil Bill off balance. She spun and struck, separated Evil Bill's swords at the pommel. Kathy dropped her scythe to the ground and grabbed Evil bill's sword by the handles. She flung Evil Bill, making him let go of his swords, and throwing him into a wall. Evil Bill never made it to the ground, cause Kathy jumped and stabbed Evil Bill in the chest with his own swords, pinning him to the wall. Kathy jumped down and saw Evil Bill slump.
Delia fought just as well with Evil Liam. Evil Liam swung with his sickle, but Delia stepped out of the way and brought her sword up into Evil Liam's arm, breaking it. Evil Liam howled in pain. Delia slashed across the back, making him drop to his knees. Delia then proceed to hack and slash at Evil Liam's head an then his entire body. The really Liam looked upon the scene with a bit of fear in him. Delia finished and looked to him.
"You enjoyed that a little too much." Liam said.
"Just letting off some steam. My husbands a dick, you know." Delia said.
"I've met you husband. Good guy. Just forgets to listen to his wife a lot."
"Hopefully he's learned his lesson."
"Hate to break up marital counseling, but where's Danni?" Collin asked coming over with the rest of the team. An explosion was hear above them and everyone looked u to see Danni fighting her evil self.
Danni flew through the air, dodging various magic blasts and beams sent for her. Her Evil self was good, but Danni is always better. Danni flew faster and then doubled back, heading straight for evil self. She sent a light ball at her, which exploded like a flashbang, blinding her. Evil Danni regained her eyesight and looked around for Danni. She gasped as Danni appeared behind her and stuck her entire fist into her back. Similar to what The First attempted to do to her, a yellow glow surrounded where Danni's hand was in Evil Danni's back. But unlike absorbing the energy within Evil Danni, Danni was causing the molecules in Evil Danni to accelerate at a fast pace. Evil Danni began to crack and glow red before exploding. Danni floated to the ground and rejoined the others. Their evil bodies that were left, disappeared. They all looked to The First, who hadn't moved from his spot during the entire battle.
"Take him down." Kathy ordered. Connor was the first of them to go. He ran towards The First, grunting and growling and raising his new mace to strike. The First put up a hand and blasted Connor back, onto his back. Liam through his sickle, Collin fired an arrow, and Danni sent a beam of energy. The First deflected them all away with a wave of his hand. Delia rushed forward with her sword. The First extended his hand and brought Liam's sickle to his hand, then blocked Delia's attack.
"I actually admire this weapon. A sickle that can kill anything. Much like death, don't you think?" The First said, then punched Delia. She flew back and landed on Collin. Kathy charged forward and jumped, raising her scythe for a strike. The First put up his hand and stopped her in midair. Bill passed Liam one of his swords and they both went after the First from behind. Liam jumped into the air, like his sister did, to attack. The First caught Liam with his own sickle and flung him into Kathy. Bill took the distraction to attack. The First turned around in an instant and blocked Bill's attack. Bill kept up his attacks with his sword, but the First overpowered Bill by trapping him in a blade lock, then twisting Bill's sword out of his hand. The First caught the sword and stabbed Bill in the abdomen. Bill grunted in pain.
"NO!" The twins screamed at the same time. The First snapped the sword's handled from its blade and kicked Bill away. Bill landed on the ground and didn't move.
…
From the command center at the army base, the Scoobies watched in horror and shock. Many were on the edges of their seats watching. Buffy turned to Faith who had her hand to her mouth and tears running down her face as she just witnessed her son, her child whom she had never seen until just now, get stabbed and tossed away like broken toy. Spike had tears forming in his eyes too and wrapped his arms around Faith. Faith leaned in to Spike for a little comfort, but it wasn't going to be enough. They both believed that their son was dead. Buffy looked back, wanting to see if Bill's downfall was not in vain.
…
The White Hats starred at where Bill was thrown to. Bill was the youngest but one of the bravest of them all. They never conceived that he would be the first to fall in anything. They all looked back at The First Evil. Anger, hate, revenge burned in their eyes.
"You really have no idea with whom you're dealing with, do you?" The First asked.
"One sorry motherfucker." Collin answer and fired an arrow. The First flicked his fingers and the arrow curved. It flew out away and they returned back to Collin. Collin turned his back and the arrow embedded in his quiver. "Oh shit." Collin tried to get his quiver off, but it was too late. The arrow and his quiver exploded. Collin flew several feet and landed on his on the ground, his back and arms on fire. He laid still. The fires flew up and circled around Danni who was floating in the air. Her hair was on fire and her eyes complete yellow. She roared a demonic roar, fire breathing from her mouth.
"Come and get me, honey." The First taunted. Danni sent a beam of reddish orange energy at The First. The First merely blocked it with a raise of his hand. The First floated up into the air to challenge Danni on her turf. He fired his own red energy from his hands. The approached Danni and separated into four separate beams, hitting her. Danni yelled but didn't fall. Then The First came at her and punched her hard. Danni flew back but recovered, then shooting herself at The First. The First didn't move as Danni flew to him. He reached out and grabbed Danni by her head. Black veins appeared in Danni's head from where The First grabbed her. Danni screamed at the pain coursing through her head like knives stabbing her repeatedly. The First let go of Danni fell to the ground. Landing in a truck full of sand.
The First dodged Kathy's scythe as it was thrown at him. He turned back to the last four remaining opponents. Kathy, Liam, Delia, and Connor. They were all that was left.
"Hmm. Let's see whose next." The First said. He pointed to Kathy. "Eeny." He pointed to Liam. "Meeny." He pointed to Delia. "Miny." He pointed to Connor. "Moe." He thrust his hands out and blasted the twins and Delia away, leaving Connor. "It's time to put this bad dog to sleep." The First taunted. Connor raised his mace to attack. "For good." The First flew down to attack. Connor pulled back with his mace and swung once The First was close enough. The First tied to dodge but Connor got his arm at the shoulder, ripping it off. The First screamed in pain. "Not my arm!" The First severed limb wiggled and withered on the ground. Connor came up to him and ripped his other arm off with a swing from his mace. The Frist screamed and fell on the ground. Connor stood over The First, menacingly. The First got to his feet and grunted, then his arms grew back from his body, like they were never cut off. He laughed and egged Connor on. Connor scrunched up his face in anger and tried to crush The Firsts head this time. The First grabbed the mace by the shaft and ripped it from Connor's hand, throwing it away. The First punched Connor several times across the face and once in the stomach. Connor bent over, spitting blood out form his mouth. Connor rose back up and The First kicked him back into a wall. "The Destroyer? Yeah right."
Kathy, Liam, and Delia got to their feet's and ran at The First. The Frist flew up his hand and the three flew back through the air and landed several yards away. The First wasn't to them yet. Connor got to his feet. The First waved his hand and Connor flew back to into the wall again. The first kept flicking his hand over and over again, making Connor slam into the wall, over and over again, making a serious dent. The First raised his hand and a rebar rose of the ground from a pile of them. The rebar flew through the air and went straight into Connor's stomach. Connor held the rebar and gritted his bloody teeth. The first walked right up to Connor, face inches from his.
"Penny for your thoughts, chief?" The First asked. Connor, with all of his strength, took the rebar out of him and held The First on the wall with one hand. His pointed the bloody rebar at the firsts head. "Oh, scary." Connor tried to stab The First, but The First disappeared and the rebar just went into the wall. Connor looked around and saw The First again. The First waved his arm and Connor went lying into a wall. The First waved his arm gain and Connor flew into a column, then a wall, then two more columns. The First was miming playing a game of pinball with his fingers, making Connor fly into many different obstacles like a pinball game. Connor flew faster and faster into constructs before flying into a scaffolding and falling. "Oh, tilt." Connor landed on the ground and didn't move. The First raised his arm to one of the weakened columns and started to break it. Connor came too and looked to the see the column breaking above him. The column broke and fell. Connor put up his arms over his face and the column landed on him.
"You bastard!" Liam yelled. He and Kathy ran at the First, faster than Delia, who suddenly stopped and started in shock. Most of them had been defeated already. It was starting to dawn on her that maybe they would lose.
Kathy ran at The First and swung with her scythe. The first ducked and blocked an attack by Liam with one of Bill's swords with his own sickle. Kathy swung her scythe in an overhead arc down onto The First, but The First pushed Liam away and swung up, slicing Kathy's scythe at the head. Kathy fell forward from the momentum of the swing and The First grabbed her, shoving her into Liam and they both fell down. The first got up and head straight for them. The twins looked up and saw him coming. He raise the sickle for a strike, but was interrupted by the timely arrival of Danni who was covered in sand, jumping onto his back. She locked her hands around his torso and her legs around his waist, keeping her on.
"I ain't dead yet." Danni growled into his ear. "Guys," Danni addressed the twins. "Mike." The twins got the message in an instant and their eyes grew wide. 'Mike' in the phonetic alphabet stands for M. In this case, M meant magic. Danni was going to unleash a powerful explosion of magic, just like how The First tried to take them all out two weeks ago. The twins scrambled to their feet and ran. Danni's eyes turned yellow and her body glowed. The first tried to get Danni off but she wouldn't let go. She screamed as the magic built up and let it out in a fiery explosion. The blast was so great that it blasted the twins and Delia off their feet's. The shockwave removed some of the rubble off of Connor and rolled him on the ground. Connor stopped and coughed up blood. He was still alive. The same happened to Collin. He rolled on the ground from the blast and stopped. He scrunched his face in pain from landing on his back, making his burns hurt. Bill flew through the air, slightly off the ground, and landed. He grunted in pain from the blade still in his stomach. He too was still alive.
…
The camera in the conference room everyone was in, went to static snow.
"What happened?" Giles asked.
"The blast must have affected the video feed." Riley said. He and Sam were already on the job of getting the feedback.
Everyone in the room was still very worried and anxious. Buffy already had tears running down her face after seeing what happened to Connor. Angel was holding her and trying hard not to cry but failing. Xander was looking very worried, along with everyone else who didn't know their children. Except for Willow who had dried tears on her face after seeing her daughter. Then cone seeing her again, she stopped and watched as she blew herself up. She didn't know if she lived or not.
"We got it." Sam said. The video came back and everyone watched.
In a room down the hall from the conference room where everyone was watching, a bright light shined from the crack at the bottom of the door.
…
Smoke rose from the site where Danni blew up. Everyone was still on the ground, knocked unconscious from the blast. Delia stirred first and looked up. Her blurry vision cleared up and the ringing in her ears stopped. She saw the smoke and saw the twins lying on the ground. She slowly got up on all fours and crawled to Liam. She shook him, hoping back for a response. Liam stirred and groaned. He rolled on to his side and lifted himself onto his elbow. He looked at Delia and then looked at the smoke that was starting to clear up. They both saw Danni's body just a few feet away from where she and The First originally were. Her body was grey skinned and looking wrinkled. Her face was shrunken like a mummies and she laid still, unconscious. She used up all her magic in her and let it out in an attempt to defeat The First. Kathy rolled over and saw Danni too. All three of them hoped that it was all done with. That The First was gone.
This was proven wrong as the last of the smoke disappeared and The First still stood. His clothes were ripped and burned. His face and exposed skin looked burnt and scarred but slowly healed. In a matter of seconds, he was looking like how the was before the blast.
"Well, that was interesting." The First said. Thinking nothing else, Kathy and Liam got up and rushed at The First. Delia tried to stop Liam, but he went anyway. Kathy tried to stab The First with her knife, since her scythe had broken. The Frist grabbed the knife and slammed Kathy's head into his elbow. She fell to the ground, disoriented, and looked up to see The First take her knife and stab her in the chest with it. Kathy gasped and held the knife, then weakened and her hands fell to her side.
"NO!" Liam yelled and came at The First. He raised his sword for a strike. The First swung Liam's sickle and cut Bill's sword in half. As Liam stood straight, The First spun around and slashed Liam across the torso in a downward swing. Liam gasped and fell to his knees. He looked up at The First and starred into its cold black eyes, then fell forward onto the ground.
Delia starred in horror as the last of the White Hats, minus herself, had fallen. Her whole family was defeated and only she stood left. But hope did she have? She was only a slayer. Not as powerful or strong as her team mates. Not as legendary or feared as Buffy, The slayer. She was alone and helpless.
…
Everyone back at the army base, watched on the screen in tears. Buffy was silently crying with Angel holding her, crying himself. Faith was crying with Spike holding her. Xander sat in disbelief, seeing their children fight so hard and fall just as much. The same look he had was shared by everyone else. Fred was crying and being comforted by Wesley. Giles wiped some tears from his eyes. The Finn's bowed their heads.
Across the hell, in the room that had the wired glow, candles were lit on a table surround a mystical gourd. Around the table, stood three shining figures, wearing white gowns. The final candle was being lit be one of the figures.
"The power of the Slayer and all who wield it. Last to ancient first, we invoke thee. Grant our visons and ourselves thy domain and primal strength. Accept us all and the power we possess." One figure chanted.
"Make our minds and hearts and spirits enjoined. Let the hand encompass us. Do thy will." Another of the figures chanted.
"By the generous will of the Ancients, the almighty power of the Divine Spirits…Your supplicants humbly beseech thee to behold us, and that which we possess… the moieties of the One, the Avatar…" the third figure chanted.
Willow looked up from the table and looked spooked. She could sense the magic building in the room across the hall.
"Spiritus... spirit."
The magic itself was causing different things in the base to malfunction. Lights were going on and off, machines were acting weird and making noises, the screen they were all looking at was flickering.
"Animus... heart."
Willow got up and moved out of the room. "Willow?" Buffy asked and followed her, along with Xander, both looking worried.
"Sophus... mind."
Willow stopped at the door with the beings in it and put a hand to the door.
"And Manus... the hand. We enjoin that we may inhabit the vessel, the hand..."
"Daughter of Sineya..."
"First of the ones..."
"We implore thee: Admit us bring us to the vessel!"
"Take us now!"
"We are heart..."
"We are mind..."
"We are spirit..."
Willow opened the door wide open and walked in, stopping dead when she saw the beings. Buffy and Xander came in behind her and saw them too. They all starred in shock. Standing around the gourd and candles, hands joined and chanting, stood Buffy's mother, Joyce, Willow's former lover, Tara, and Xander's ex-girlfriend, Cordy.
"Tara?" Willow asked.
"Cordy?" Xander asked.
"Mom?" Buffy asked.
"From the raging storm...We bring the power of the Primeval One." The beings chanted. They all looked up to see the new arrivals and smiled at them. The beings lit up and turned into big light balls that formed together. The gourd shot the light up through the ceiling and out into the cloudy night sky. The three moved the where the being stood. Xander and Buffy looked up at the ceiling. Willow looked at everything on the table.
"The Enjoining Spell." Willow whispered. Buffy and Xander looked to her.
"What?" Buffy asked.
"Will, what just happened?" Xander asked.
Willow looked up at them. "It's not over." She ran out of the room and back to the conference room. Buffy and Xander followed. Everything in the facility seemed to be back to normal.
"Buffy, are you alright? What's wrong?" Angel asked.
"I think…I'm not sure. Will?" Buffy said. Willow didn't answer. She starred at the screen which showed The First closing in on Delia.
"Just watch." Willow said.
"Will, do you know why we just saw three dead people we all knew standing, all shiny, in the other room?" Xander asked.
"Shut up and watch!" Willow said and looked back. Everyone looked back and watched.
…
Delia held her sword up as The First walked closer to her at a slow pace, trying to scare her. It was working. Delia was hyperventilating at this point. She was so nervous her hands holding her sword were shaking. Delia backed away as The First approached. He gripped Liam's sickle in his hand and smiled evilly. The clouds formed together and stood still.
Suddenly a beam of bright light shot out from the sky and hit Delia. Delia looked up and stood straight, her arms out at her sides. The First covered his eyes as the light was too bright and seemed to weaken him. Delia's skin suit faded away and in its place, new armor appeared and attached itself to her skin. The beam grew brighter as it hit Delia. Two wings made of light extended out from the beam and straightened themselves. Breathtakingly beautiful, they extended five meters out on each side.
…
The conference room occupants starred in awe at the scene. No one was crying anymore. They were overwhelmed by the beam of light and the wings.
"Oh…my…God." Buffy said starring.
…
The First collected a lot of red energy into a ball in front of his chest and sent a red beam from it, towards the beam of light cascading onto Delia. The red beam deflected of the light beam and destroyed a column. From the light beam, a light whip like beam came out from it and hit The First across the face, scarring it with a burn mark, as well as destroying Liam's sickle in the process. The Light beam ended Delia stood where she was, cladded in a new angelic armor, the light wings protruding from her back, and her eyes glowed complete white.
…
Buffy and the rest of the gang in the room all smiled and cheered, clapping their hands at what they believed to be the beginning of the end of The First.
…
"I am Legion. For we are…many." Delia spoke, the voices of her friends and loved ones speaking with her in her voice. The First got to his feet and starred at the new Delia. Delia extended her wings and took flight. The First tried to catch her with another beam of energy but missed. Delia flew up into the sky, into the star shining onto her. Delia stopped and floated in midair, wings extended out. Her whole body shined bright with light. The wind picked up, blowing everything in the construction site, everywhere. The White Hat's all remained on the ground, their hairs only blowing in the wind. Delia withdrew her sword from her side, now shining with light. Delia lifted The First up from the ground with her hand, making him float in the air. The First circled around Delia. He gathered up red energy and shot it at Delia. Delia deflected it with her light sword. The First shot again and Delia deflected it.
"You have upset the balance to this world. Your actions have cause misery and fear. Now, we shall restore what once was." Delia aimed her sword and shot herself at The First. The First sent a third blast at her, but Delia's sword pierced the energy, clearing path for her. Delia drew closer and closer to The First. Finally, the tip of her sword, piece The First's body's chest and exited out the other side. The First screamed in pain. White cracks formed from the wound around The First's body and his eyes glowed white. The First's body blew into an oblivion.
Delia soared to the ground and landed. She looked to the White Hats on the ground and lifted the all up with a hand. The White Hats all floated, limp in midair. Delia pointed her hand at them and they all glowed with white light. Bill's sword in his stomach disappeared and his wound healed, as did Liam's and Kathy's wounds. Danni's skin got whiter and was brought back to its natural color, and her skin started to look more like how it did before. Collins burns healed up nicely. Connor glowed and the blood on him and in his mouth faded. Delia lowered her hand and softly put the White Hats on the ground. Delia looked up at the star shining on her and raised her sword to it in triumph.
The light from the star faded and Delia's wings faded as well. Her new angelic armor disappeared, her skin suit taking its place. Delia lowered her sword and her eyes turned back to their natural dark color. Delia's eyes rolled back in her head and she fell to the ground, unconscious.
Hoped you liked it. Nice twists I put in, hunh? I'll write and hopefully post sooner than I did this one. Just as long as my computer doesn't turn off on me.
