Chapter 29

Disclaimer: I do not own the Vampire Academy world and its character. This is what I would think happen if Rose somehow found her self in amongst Pirates.

After I finish I change into a sleep shirt and slid under the covers and let the tiredness take me over.

I awoke the next morning even before the sun itself. Feeling slightly rested, I dress for the day in light brown knee pants and a cream smock shirt placing my sword belt around my waist and pulling on my boots. I made my way to the galley. Not spotting Jack I pour myself a cup of coffee and grab a slice of bread and made way up on deck.

I step out on to the deck, seeing the first sign of dawn was making its appearance known as pale orange streaks began to dance along the horizon swirling across the sea as the water layed smooth as glass before us.

Squinting my eyes watching the morning sunrise we must be near land as a fog haze started to form ahead of us just skirting the top of the water. I knew that once the fog started to lift, it would resemble smoke from a fire, revealing the shore line that it now was cloaking.

I headed to the ships helm as I took another swig of coffee searching my surrounding for anything out of the ordinary. Bailey was standing there tall and rugged as he search as well, for any tattle tales signs of land.

"We're getting closer." Bailey allowed.

"Aye, and then the hard part starts, hide and wait." I said sipping the coffee. Bailey nodding in agreement.

"Land HO." Jasper announce as we look up at the crow's nest seeing the direction he pointed. Gazing in the direction he pointed barely seeing the outline of trees came into view as we neared the area.

"Bring to." I shouted and watch the men scramble to their stations. (To bring the ship to a stop or to slow down abruptly with sails still set.)

As the ship slow we ease her towards the land and look for the cove we had chosen. As one of the crew measure the water deep under the ship calling out 15 fathoms, 10 fathoms. Letting us know the water was getting shallow.

Jasper was the first one to spot the cove.

"Captain cove ahead." he yelled as we turn to see the opening nearing us. If you weren't looking for it, you would sail right on by. A small smile cross my face. Just maybe...just maybe I could fool my talented husband this one time. Steering the ship into the shallow cove wasn't as difficult as I had previously expected. I search the cove looking for a good place to anchor that the ship would be out of view from the coves mouth, yet still be in deep water with no fear of being grounded.

I spotted a area if it was deep enough, would be perfect giving us a clear view of the strait . Yet hidden from the other ships.

"There Bailey...there we anchor there." I said as I pointed out where I wanted him to take the ship.

"Aye good choice." he said smiling and concentrating maneuvering the ship to the spot. As soon as the anchors had been drop, I physically relax, now the waiting game starts.

Jack came up on deck.

"Jack you might want to take a small crew and go ashore and replenish our water and maybe a few extra barrels and fresh food and staples." I said as I finish my coffee.

"Aye, Peanut I get right on that." he said smiling as he turn to make way to gather a few of the crew members.

Jasper stay vigilant in the crows nest watching and waiting like the rest of the crew.

I busy myself with planning what I was going to do when I caught the Tamerlane and her crew. Thinking of every possible course of action and different scenarios that may or may not happen.

"Looks like your in deep thought Peanut." Bailey commented as he look across the cove watching some children playing in the shallow water.

"Yes I am thinking about anything and everything that can or could happen when we attach the Tamerlane." I said as I to watch the children. What I would give to be one of those children no worries, no problems except to enjoy the day of laughing and having fun.

"Ever thought bout having kids?" Bailey asked taking a side glance at me.

"No not really...well not until Dimitri I mean...I never wanted any I guess I should say. Not until lately. But that may never happen now." I said letting out a sigh as I still kept my gaze on the children.

"And why is that? You know he loves you and when this is all settle and he knows the truth, he will be more than happy to have you back." Bailey continue to stress that the captains love for me would fix everything.

"First I have to accomplish that. And anything can happen and you know that." I said as a movement caught my eye only to see Jack and the crew coming back to the ship with the supplies.

"Well Jack is on his way back, lets go see what he has brought shall we." I said as I gave Bailey a small smile, glad that I had change the direction of the conversation for the time being, and walk over to where they would tie up at.

After Jack had came back and unloaded his goods, he came over to me and give me a fatherly hug.

"How you holding up Peanut?" he ask as he survey my face.

"Good as to be expected...you know accused of killing your husband. Being run off a cliff. Faking my death, attending my own funeral. Chasing a crazy bitch and her band of pirates. And then running away from my husband. You know all in the daily life of Rosemarie." I said letting out a stiff chuckle.

Minutes turn into hours, before Jasper bellow sails ho. I scramble up to the crows nest and took the glass from him as I watch the ship sails coming into view growing larger with every passing minute. We had been anchor in this cove about 4 and a half hours. As the ship came closer I held my breath. Now that the ship was close enough to make out the men on deck I scan the ship. The first person I recognize was Ambrose in the crows nest searching and looking. I prayed that he would not be able to see us.

I then turn my attention to the ships helm and there he was standing as proud as a pose God turning and looking watching for any clues, that may give him the location to his quest. I could tell that he was determined to find me by his expression that was etch on his face. Ivan stood to his side not looking please at all. Making me wonder what had cause this reaction from him. He had always been loyal to his Captain. My heart was thumping rapidly as they drew nearer with apprehension of being discover and my well laid out plan destroyed.

Eyes wide scared to death still holding my breath I watch as she sailed right on by with out a hint of slowing down. I had caught Ambrose as he scanned the cove and then watch as he leaned over and shook his head no. Quickly looking back at Dimitri I saw him slam his hand down onto the wheel and the anger took over his expression as he turn the wheel over to Ivan and he walk to the railing and look in our direction. His eyes searching the shore looking for any sign.

Just as he raise his eyes up to where I was position. I felt a chill run down my spine. Could he feel my presence? Did he see me by chance? My heart hammer in my chest. As I felt the blood drain from my face. Just as I thought we had been found he turn his attention back to the deck and walk to cabin door and was gone from my sight. I let out a ragged breath and continue to watch as the Flying Dragon grew smaller and smaller in the distance. Feeling relief flood over me, that we had gone undiscovered I turn the glass back over to Jasper and made my way down to the deck still shaking from the fear of being found.

"One down and one to go." I said as Jack and Bailey approach me.

"Aye." they both chimed together.

DPOV

I could feel the desperation mounting inside of me, staring out at the sea I was taking on a challenge of trying to find one ship in a vast sea she could literally be anywhere. My heart was telling me she was near, but my eyes couldn't see her, as we continue to search the sea and the coves for the Blood Moon.

This had been the worst week in my entire life. The authorities telling me that Rose my wife had shot me. This I couldn't believe Rose was the type of woman, she would face you as she shot you just to see the look in your eyes as she pulled the trigger. I don't care if it was her gun or not, I still wouldn't believe she would do that to me.

Then when the authorities said they found the carriage and I and Ivan went to the location. As I approach the carriage that had went off the cliff, my heart began to ache and tighten in my chest.

When a man pulled the torn and shredded dress out and held it up. My body froze I couldn't breath it was Rose's dress she had worn to the dinner. Blood soaked, the shreds of material showed signs of animals chewing on it, I felt the tears run down my face as I turn around to stare in a different direction for a moment. God please...I could only hope she hadn't, suffer that she was already dead before the animals showed up. God my heart was breaking into.

Returning to my family's home and planning Rose funeral was terrible, her parents couldn't make it due to Janine being sick and Abe wouldn't leave her, Lissa and Christian were on a trip and couldn't be reach. Also the fact there was no body, deep down inside I hope beyond hope, she had made it out some how, but there were no signs around that, this had been the case.

The day of the funeral all I wanted to do was die and join my love, to lay beside her. Saying goodbye to her was not an option I wanted to do. Then Calico and Bailey only added to my misery, by them being there without Rose only made it more surreal.

Tasha...Tasha I had not even realized it was her that I had let my grief over flow from me, until Ivan pulled me away from her. His words brought me out of my mourning as he said, Rose wouldn't like seeing me in her arms.

Then when Ivan confided in me that Rose was alive...the sheer happiness I felt and then anger for no one thought they should tell me...for God sakes I love this woman...didn't they have any mercy for me.

And now searching for her. Where is she going? What does she have planned in that pretty head of her's? What will she do? Will she come back to me? Does she even care about me? Ugh all these questions and only one person can answer them and she is no where to be found.

I went to my cabin to rest for a while only to be reminded of Rose...Roza had shared this cabin with me for sometime I could still see her laying in my bed smell her scent. God Rose I need you so bad.

After tossing and turning for what seem like eternity I fell asleep.
