"Do you want me on your mind?
Or do you want me to go on?
I might be yours, as sure as I can say,
'Be gone, be faraway' ."
- Fuel To The Fire, Agnes Obel
"Tamsin?" Bo's voice broke the same silence that had filled the room since she laid her eyes upon the ominous tarot card that had unintentionally slipped from her inamorata's pocket. The valkyrie was freezing up beneath her for reasons that she couldn't understand; though she planned on discovering. If she was to hazard a guess then she would say that the young blonde looked frightened by the card, as if it was some type of bomb waiting to explode, which was even more concerning to the succubus. One of the only emotions she never associated Tamsin with was fear, the woman was unflappable, or she certainly used to be before the crisis of her rebirth took place. Even now it puzzled to think that the female in front of her was her girlfriend and wasn't at the same time. Although she shouldn't be surprised, the fae world and all it's eccentricities had stunned her for years, so why should her romantic life be any different? First she fell for a stubborn wolf who gave his love for her, then for the human doctor who was in servitude to the light, and now a valkyrie who went through an entire rebirth cycle in the earliest stage of their relationship. Well, at least her luck was consistent. If she had a normal run of things then she would think that something was wrong.
But still, there was no answer from Tamsin, in Bo's opinion it just looked like she was going into full shutdown mode - which was far from good. "Tamsin," she tried a softer voice on for size as she caressed the tense female's cheek, "talk to me, it worries me seeing you so spooked like this." She attempted to put some sense of humor into her tone in hopes that it may take away some of the strain in the atmosphere, but it didn't work. It didn't even make the slightest impact. The valkyrie barely flinched, blinked, or even breathed. Though maybe her silence was due to her being pinned down to the table with the older woman atop her as if she was her prey. Therefore, the succubus eased herself back, but she didn't pull away entirely. 'What is going on with her? Why won't she even answer me?'
It took more seconds of the brunette brushing her thumb across the valkyrie's cheekbone until anymore progress was made.
"Bo..." Tamsin returned the female's name, but it wasn't as soft or as compassionate. She sounded uncertain and anxious. The paranoia was shimmering in her wide green eyes as she propped herself up unto her elbows, staring into the confused brown hues across from her. This was a conversation she hadn't prepared for, and also one that she had hoped she would never have to face. But now that chance was long gone. Sure, she could lie, but it would be all too obvious. And yes, she could even try to distract Bo by trying to spring more intimacy and affection on her, but she didn't have the heart to. "I have to tell you something."
The seriousness in the valkyrie's voice caused the gentle smile to fade from Bo's lips, already she wasn't confident about the change in the atmosphere between them, it was going from hot to cold which as a succubus she wasn't used to. However, she leaned back further until she was no longer clambered onto the table, but rather standing in front of it, allowing the younger female the chance to sit up. On an unknown level her arms moved to loop around the blonde's waist. She was waiting, listening.
Feeling impossibly more ill, Tamsin's legs dangled over the edge of the table, her feet nearly touching the ground. The heart in her chest was thundering horribly. "I..." Her first attempt to speak was shot down quickly when she had to clear her throat to stop her voice from cracking up. "I...I was...I mean...I'm..." How the hell was she supposed to tell the same woman who loved her that she was also her target? That there was an ageless reward for finding her? That a deal had been struck to find her before she was even born? And why did Tamsin have to be the one who had taken the job? Things were getting bad, and it hadn't even begun.
"Tamsin what is-"
"I was hired to find you."
And then the silence came.
As for giving a long explanation, the valkyrie just got to the point as bluntly as she could, there was never going to be an easy way for her to break the news to the succubus. A three second speech or a three minute one was sure to get her the same shocked expression that she could now see overtaking Bo's features. Her heart thrashed harder and a nervous lump formed in her throat as she saw the hesitation across the brunette's face, gone was the former calmness she previously had.
"What?" The single word escaped the succubus in a voice above a whisper, but she sounded sharply puzzled, as if she had heard a joke that she wasn't quite sure whether she approved of.
The stern tone made Tamsin feel faultlessly worse and she swallowed back that damnable lump unable to look away. "In the mall earlier a woman...visited me and gave me the card...she told me that it was my job to find you... and that I have to deliver you to some man. The Wanderer, I think." She felt a pang of pain inside when she realized that Bo's arms were starting to fall loosely away from being wrapped around her waist. She felt like she was losing her comfort, literally. But in her persistence the valkyrie grappled at the brunette's arms and in futility she tried to bring them back around her, wanting to keep the contact even though she could see that she had just broken something inside of the succubus. "Bo, please, I swear I didn't know about-"
"I don't understand." Defeatedly the brunette was giving her arms a gentle wrench back to herself, because even when things were dropping to a low point she couldn't use force against the young rambling valkyrie. In short, everything she was hearing was hurting her head, she couldn't make sense of it. Learning that Tamsin was seemingly hired to track her down on the order's of some unknown man was a sure way to blow her brain. Minutes ago she professed her undying love for the blonde and now she was discovering that she was numero uno on her hit list? She missed the days of her bad luck, because whatever this was, it was much worse.
Tamsin scurried down from the table when Bo took a step back from her, their eyes were locked, but it wasn't in the adoring way that it should have been. "I must have made a deal in one of my former lives, I...I can't remember anything about it, you have to believe me, this was never...I...I never wanted to..."
Noticing that the blonde was unable to finish her words, the succubus threw in some more of her own again, "is that why you were made to be Dyson's partner? Were you sent to spy on me this entire time?"
"No...I don't...I don't know..."
"Get into my heart? Make me an easier target?"
"No!" Tamsin whined and made a step closer to Bo. "Please don't say it like that, I can't explain everything to you but I didn't want any of this, I wish I never even knew about it!" She tried to get within arm's reach of the succubus, but the brunette was simply having none of it as she took another stride away, ensuring that a suitable distance was kept between them. The valkyrie didn't know what she could do or say to shine any light on the situation, she could feel herself getting upset, with everything.
"You wish you never knew about it now because you can't remember anything!" Tempers were running higher as the succubus snapped, she hadn't meant to sound so sharp with her words but she was pained with what she was hearing, she couldn't comprehend it and she couldn't process it. The fact that she wasn't getting detailed answers was making her doubly as sketchy.
Now the two of them were matching stress levels seeing as how Tamsin's jaw became tense, "that doesn't even make sense!"
"Sure it does!" Bo countered, pointing her hand out towards the equally frustrated valkyrie. "As soon as you get all of your memories back I'm screwed! I'm done for!"
"How can you even say that? Weren't you the one who said that I loved you?" The blonde's breathing was laboring as she stood off against the succubus, things had changed so drastically because of that damn card, she wanted rid of it. "So how can you believe that I would want to hand you over to someone that I can't even remember?"
"Maybe it was a part of your plan all along, maybe you've always intended to finish your job, you told me that you were a bounty hunter once upon a time...but I guess I just assumed that you had put that life behind you." Bo was freaking out, in her own little way, as far as she knew everything that she had built up with Tamsin could have been a lie. How could the valkyrie have kept this from her up until now? Why didn't she tell her about this 'deal' in her last life? All of these questions were making the succubus feel as though the room was spinning out of control. She moved her hand to rest at the side of her head as if it would somehow help to slow everything down.
Tamsin was in an increasing state of disbelief at how things were panning out, 'if this is how honesty works then I really don't like it,' she told herself and glowered at the irrational succubus. But she could see way beyond Bo's anger, she knew that she was in pain and being a valkyrie she practically felt the waves of down whirling around her. "How can you be so single minded about this?"
"How could you lie to me?" The succubus questioned back.
They were batting back and forth with their vexed words and it was doing neither of them any good. If anything Bo looked like she was waiting to be attacked, and Tamsin was just as confused as hell. "I'd love to answer that question but - oh wait - I can't remember ANYTHING as you so frequently enjoy pointing out! Do you think I'm having a blast? It feels like there's a hole in my head and it hurts every time I look at you!"
For maybe the first time since coming to The Dal today Bo felt her guard falter, the fire in her eyes dimming slightly when she heard the blonde's words, her brows knitted almost apologetically. Almost.
When she stopped to actually pay attention to the valkyrie she could see that she was shaking from anger, and worry, and guilt. A triple combination of bad vibes. Maybe in that second it struck her that she was arguing with a girl instead of a bounty hunter, but it didn't take away the ache in her heart, knowing that Tamsin could have held an ulterior motive against her all along. The thought of their love being a ploy this entire time was crippling her in a way that she hadn't felt for a very long time - if ever she had felt it at all. Her breath hitched in the back of her throat as she saw the distinct darker tone that the valkyrie's eyes were changing to, she was losing control of her temper, and at this age that was not a good sign.
"Tamsin," Bo's hand hovered in midair as she took a cautious step forward, "easy."
The tables had seemingly turned, as soon as the brunette tried to grasp the valkyrie's arm she missed her target. In a second the blonde jerked away, her chest was rising and falling heavily as she kept her void eyes on the succubus. She didn't know what she was doing, in fact all she did know that she was upset and that Bo's accusations, doubts and anger wasn't helping one iota. It was adding fuel to a very unwanted fire. This was the first time that Tamsin's powers were rearing their head, and there happened to be only one person for her to channel that explosive energy at.
Even now Bo could feel the effects, the closer she tried to get to the valkyrie the more her already pounding head was pushed into a state of agony. Defensively her eyes were glowing blue, but even at that she was still grimacing as she tried once more to reach for Tamsin's arm, knowing that one touch could go a long way to calming her. "Tamsin...you need to stop..." She said through gritted teeth, using her other hand to grasp at her head while the migraine intensified tenfold.
"You...you think I'm no good..." The blonde's voice was seething in pain and distress, she barely had to move back from the brunette this time, she watched in shock as Bo buckled down to her knees, clutching to the desk for support. "You think that I'm going to hurt you!"
"Newsflash Tammy, you are hurting me!" Bo was referring physically, of course, she probably should have chosen more endearing words but things had escalated so quickly that she couldn't distinguish left from right, nor up from down. A small gasp escaped her lips as she clung to the table, she had never been on the wrong side of a valkyrie before and she could honestly say that it made a hangover feel like a walk in the park. All of her senses were jammed, thus it was out of sheer stubbornness alone that she was even able to hold the conversation up until this point. "Tamsin..."
The words might as well have fallen on deaf ears, the young blonde was shuddering, tears glazed her eyes, her hands were balled tightly into fists at either side, the wave of power she was casting was unrelenting and out of her control. She didn't want to put the succubus in a position of discomfort but she just wanted everything to stop - the confusion, the pain, the hollow feeling in the pit of her stomach, all of it. It took only another short handful of seconds before her dark eyes and imperceptible skeletal features shone some shock. She was forced to witness as Bo collapsed straight to the floor, and if she hadn't seen it then she certainly heard the violent thud of her body free falling. With the other woman no longer on a conscious plane anymore the valkyrie finally managed to let go of her defensiveness, marred by her panic over the immobile succubus. As her face contorted back normally she was left wide eyed as she crumpled down on her knees to the female's side.
"Bo?" Tamsin's voice shook with worry as she placed her hands onto the succubus' shoulders, her gaze roamed every inch of her from head to toe and it done nothing to decrease the fear she felt. She had never meant to bring Bo down like that, she hadn't even really been aware that she was doing it, she was just too consumed by her other emotions. "Bo, god, say something...please...don't be dead, please don't be dead." She panicked furiously as she moved two swift fingers to press into the woman's neck. A harsh relief washed over her when she felt a pulse. The beats were undeniably quick, giving her the slightest insight as to how their debate had affected the now unconscious woman. She was at a loss, she convinced herself that she had somehow ruined everything that she and the succubus had worked towards, all because Acacia had to give her the damn card. Acacia. The name rang in her head and she felt her anger begin to rise once more. She couldn't afford to stay by the succubus and risk being seen as the enemy, therefore she stood up and stumbled backwards, wiping across her eyes with the back of her hand. They were getting all watered up and she wasn't sure why that was, she hadn't felt it before, or not that she could remember. Was this what crying felt like? Her throat was numb and she had an urge to be sick. Not that she was going to be, she just felt dizzy. Both from using her powers and from using her emotions.
In a last act of hopelessness Tamsin turned on her heels and made a dash for the stairs, refusing to look back even for a single second. She couldn't.
She didn't want to wait around to hear Bo tell her that she hated her.
Because she was sure that she did.
Why wouldn't she?
Seven days, two hours and eighteen minutes later...
Since the disaster in The Dal, everything in the world of Bo Dennis had turned into one tormented nightmare. The rate at which her life had changed from one extreme to the next was too awful that it should have been a joke. Should have been. Things took a swandive in the wrong direction. No feeding, no answers, no Tamsin. She hadn't seen the valkyrie since she had been on the bad end of her powers. The pain from waking up hurt - but the pain of waking up without the blonde there hurt much worse. Of course she tried searching for answers, she tried looking for her, but there was nothing. The only things she had been left with was an agonizing migraine and the infuriating 'Wanderer' card, which the valkyrie had forgotten to pick up from the table.
The crack shack was all out of sorts, the succubus was on the couch, cleaning off some of the coagulated blood from the blade of her dagger. Her focused eyes were on the cold steel. And each time she let her thoughts get the better of her she rubbed the cloth along the weapon a little harder. She was on an obsessed hunt for the missing valkyrie, every waking hour she spent gathering facts or beating down on dark fae to get information from them. But it amounted to nothing. This was the seventh day and she was chasing herself around in circles. Why did she want to find Tamsin? Well, that was obvious, because she was worried for her. But with the way they had left things she now no longer knew whether or not to call the blonde friend or foe. It was worse not having the valkyrie around to explain what had happened when she was visited at the mall. Hell, the succubus was kicking herself for not actually questioning the identity of the woman who gave Tamsin the card in the first place. Now that she was left to her own assumptions and thoughts she was making her mind a very hostile and despairing place. The love of her life had coincidentally just walked out of her life, or more like ran out of it. And she couldn't help but think that she was the one who had pushed her away.
"Wow, that looks as good as new."
Bo didn't even realize she was thinking so hard until Kenzi's voice broke her straight back into reality. She paused for a moment, tilting her head, and then she nodded before returning to finishing of cleaning the rest of the dagger. "It's a start."
At the mumbled response given the human girl exhaled a gentle sigh and then perched herself onto the cushion next to her distraught friend, "Bo Bo, don't succu-kick my butt for saying this," she started in a weak whimsical voice, "but you are looking worse by the day, you need to feed."
"I appreciate the sentiment Kenz, but I'm fine," the brunette uttered back dimly, "I just need to keep focused, there's a lot that I've got to do, I need to find out who this Wanderer guy is and why he wants me."
There was no mistaking the malice in her once-kind voice at the word 'Wanderer'. If the Russian girl didn't know her friend so well then she would have shuddered because Bo didn't sound the least bit thrilled. Actually she was so serious that Kenzi hadn't even brought the 'T' word up around her recently, but she didn't want to dance around it anymore. She held a small amount of blame for not buying Tamsin's lame excuse about visiting the restroom when she rushed by her in The Dal. She hadn't thought her lessons at teaching the valkyrie how to lie had rubbed off so well. So, she was a little proud, but for her own selfish reasons. On a whole she was utterly baffled with what had happened between her two friends.
"I tried calling Little T," Kenzi treaded carefully, and she almost froze when she saw Bo stop what she was doing, then she continued, "but there was no answer."
"Pfft, figures," the succubus frowned and held onto the hilt of the blade tightly, swiping the cloth roughly along the edge.
"Come on wonder crotch, don't be so shrewd, we like Tam Tam, remember? In fact you like her a lot."
"Are we talking about the Tamsin who valkyrie'd my ass to the floor? Or the Tamsin who has been some sort of double agent waiting to hand me over to some crazy wackjob on a card?" Bo's responses were exceptionally sharp now that she was speaking about the blonde, it was an open wound, and it stung every second of the day. She couldn't breathe without the valkyrie around, all of her moments were spent worrying for her and being mad as hell at her for everything that involved the 'Wanderer'. At times the pressure of her thoughts made her head feel as if it was going to explode. And yet, she couldn't even deny liking the valkyrie a lot. Even in the midst of her betrayal and anger it was a line she could never cross.
Kenzi reached forward to place her hand upon Bo's, stopping her from her persistent cleaning of the dagger, "maybe she just made a few bad calls."
"Then why couldn't she tell me about it? Why all of the secrecy?"
"Well, look at how you reacted when she did tell you about it, she took off running-"
"-she only told me because I-"
"-and she's just a kid-"
"-hardly, she full on doubted my head into-"
"-poor little T."
"KENZI!" Bo put an end to their blended conversation with the simple raise of her voice.
The human girl jolted from the startle it gave her but she recovered quickly and proceeded with prying the blade and cloth from her friend's hand so that she could settle them both down onto the table in front of her. "It's alright to miss her, you know." She twisted herself on the sofa so that she could face the succubus at a better angle. Her words had made an impact and they both knew it, the brunette was now staring at her lap with a look on her face that would suggest she was having chest pains. And in a sense...she was.
Bo's jaw became tense, she moved her hands to rest across her lap as the human's words sunk into her some more, "yeah," she gave a belated response, "I know." She didn't want to confirm or deny anything, it was taking everything from her to survive the day without Tamsin. Finding an empty space next to her in bed every morning was unbearable enough as it was, so she was trying to go on with as little sleep as possible. And as for her feeding requirements? She hadn't used anyone else. Maybe before it had been a different story, but she had become so enthralled by the valkyrie that she couldn't stand the thought of touching anyone who wasn't her.
"So what do we do now, Bo Bo? How do we find her?" Now that they were touching on the valkyrie as a subject Kenzi tried to get herself more involved, although she could see that the succubus still wasn't as energetically on board with it all as she was.
"I don't know Kenz, it's like she doesn't want to be found, for all we know she might not even be on our side anymore."
"Oh c'mon, you know that isn't true, she is crazy in love with you."
"That is what I thought too...until I found out that I've just been another paycheck for her. It's bad. It's really bad."
"How do you know that?"
"Well, for one, when I asked Trick who the Wanderer was he didn't give me an answer, he always keeps secrets when shit hits the fan. Lauren and Dyson don't know about this guy either."
Kenzi's nose wrinkled when she saw how physically frustrated the succubus was becoming during her response, she could almost hear the brunette's brain frying. "Okay, so we just need to find Tammy and then...like...ground her for a week for being a bad lil' valkyrie and then she can help us take this Wanderer guy down. Right?" The plan was simple and golden in her head. Bo was her best friend and she was fond of Tamsin, so she wanted to thrust the two of them back into one anothers arms. But the succubus still looked distant. "Right?"
There was another awkward pause.
But then Bo summoned the strength and nodded, "we'll see."
The human girl was about to lecture her best friend for being so disheartened, she was aware that things had become a mess due to the revelation of Tamsin's objective in her previous life, but she fully believed that the valkyrie must have kept it a secret because she wanted to protect the succubus from it. Although trying to get Bo to see it that way was going to be harder than slamming a revolving door. Oh yes, Kenzi knew from experience how the brunette got whenever a lover of hers done something to betray her. Like when Dyson lied about Aife being her mother, or Lauren spybanging her for The Ash. It was enough to make anyone build up walls.
Before further words could be discussed, the mobile phone on the center of the coffee table lit up and started to jingle. It caught Bo's attention immediately, and as always - for one fraction of a second - she fooled herself into thinking that it could be the valkyrie. But then she noticed that the caller I.D was flashing up and that it was Dyson. Reaching forward with little enthusiasm she grasped up the ringing device and answered the call, holding it up against her ear. "Dyson, what've you got?" She asked, her brows once more knitting in a focused fashion.
Wishing to partake in the conversation, Kenzi scooted herself in closer and gently pulled the phone from her friend's ear so that she could tap the button to put it on loud speaker.
"-well," the male shifter's voice came through clearly, "I've been tapping into my connections all week long for you and I got word about ten minutes ago that a valkyrie has been spotted by one of the dark fae bars at the edge of town."
"A valkyrie?" Kenzi sounded hopeful at first, however that same hope was transformed into confusion when she saw the succubus shaking her head.
Thus, Bo then decided to clear up what was going on, "it's not who you think it is," she dismissed the idea of finding her m.i.a girlfriend abruptly, "before Tamsin done a runner she told me that a woman came to her and gave her the Wanderer card, so I figured it must've been another valkyrie, I've had Dyson and Hale checking it out for me." She kept a long story short, and she skipped out the part about how she had to plead with both male detectives relentlessly to put their jobs at risk by spying on activity from the opposite affiliation of the fae world.
"And we've found a lead," Dyson insisted again, "from the word around her name is Acacia, but I have to warn you Bo that she has been around for a long time, even longer than Tamsin."
"So she's an old valkyrie, big deal, she's messed with Tamsin's head with this whole 'Wanderer' business, so it's time that she and I meet face to face."
Kenzi was already in the process of nodding as she slid her hand in her pocket in search for her favored brass knuckles, "I second that Bo Bo."
"About that," the succubus turned her head to her friend, "I need you to stay here."
Instantly the girl's excitement dropped, making her look as though she had just heard the words 'you're grounded' which in a way she kind of was. "What? Why? You can't be serious, I'm your Robin...and you need your Robin."
"I need my Robin alive, and safe," Bo countered masterfully in a no-arguments voice, "Tamsin might show up and I'm counting on you to keep her around if she does, Dyson can even come over to watch some movies with you if it'll make you feel better."
"Did you just volunteer me?" The wolf shifter's voice interrupted the conversation, as a reminder that he was still waiting on the other end of the call.
"Yes I did," the succubus confirmed, handing her phone across for her best friend to hold while she stood up and made way to get herself ready, "I don't have any time to lose, so if this 'Acacia' is at the bar right now then I want to catch her before she has a chance to hide again. Maybe she'll...maybe she'll even know where Tamsin is." The latter part of her statement was spoken in a lower mumble as she grabbed up her jacket from the kitchen island and then she slipped it along her arms and over her shoulders. Obviously she wished she didn't have to go through this trouble, she was fatigued from the lack of chi, and the stress, but most of all it was the confusion that was taking a toll on her.
There were so many things in her life that people knew about her that she, herself, wasn't even aware of. And more than anything she hated being lied to.
So for once and all she was going to straighten everything out.
And this time she wasn't going to be very forgiving about it.
"Hey, I could use a refill over here," the older valkyrie's voice came out as brashly as ever as she raised her tattooed hand to signal over the bartender, "my life cycles won't last forever you know," she added dryly at the end of her sentence. Patience clearly wasn't her forte, however a slight smirk drew across her lips when she saw that the agitated male made a point of stopping what he was doing so that he could bring the half filled bottle of scotch across to the counter. Acacia's eyes lowered in preparation to watch the glass become topped up to the brim, but then her gaze narrowed in confusion when someone's hand hovered on top of it, blocking the bartender from pouring anything into it at all.
"It must suck to get old," Bo's words put the other woman's blunt voice to shame as she leaned herself against the counter, her sights never shifting from the older female in front of her, "but you'd know more about that than I would."
By this stage the simple dark fae bartender had regressed backwards from the scene, not wishing to get involved, especially since the place had turned quiet the moment that other patrons became aware that the infamous succubus was within the establishment.
Acacia tilted her head around to see exactly who it was that had interrupted her from her next drink and from appearance alone she could guess what this little meeting was all about, "do you always talk to your elders this way, succubus?"
"Not really," the brunette replied in a blank voice, "but I do have a certain dislike for people who make me an enemy for no reason at all," she made sure that her point was made as she slid the glass further along the counter and out from the valkyrie's reach before she leaned just an inch closer, "and I especially have a problem with bitter old ladies who jerk around the people I care for."
A gruff chuckle left from Acacia's lips as her unseen hand subtly trailed down to the sheathed machete that she always carried down by her belt, "so we're here to talk about my Tamsin?"
"No," Bo gritted her teeth competitively, "we're here to talk about my Tamsin," she was almost hoping for a challenge in regards to who regarded the blonde higher, but she let it pass, "what the hell did you say to her?"
"I just gave her a little reminder that she still has a job to take care of," the older woman spoke through a smirk as she kept her gaze on the visibly irritated succubus, "personally I don't know why it has taken her so long to deliver you to our client by now, Tammy has always been the best at what she does, she's never choked before."
"Well, if you haven't noticed she is just a girl and you terrified her by roping her back into all of this shit, what the hell is wrong with you?" Bo's hand was tightening upon the counter, her knuckles turning a ghostly white which was proof of just how upset she was becoming and it didn't help that the valkyrie she was talking to was barely taking the encounter seriously. "She has been missing for the last week, she ran out and I can't find her anywhere."
"And you are telling me this...why?"
Bo done a double take, a look of disbelief washing over her face, "are you even real?" Her eyebrow twitched angrily, "I thought you were supposed to be her friend? A fellow valkyrie?"
At the assumption Acacia released yet another one of her unneeded chuckles, "we didn't braid each other's hair succubitch, I was her mentor and a damn fine one too if I might add."
"If by 'fine' you mean pathetic enough to sit in a bar and get wasted, then sure, you are are the best."
"I assume you came here for some reason? Or did you just plan on hurling your adorable gradeschool insults at me?"
"You are going to tell me everything you know about this deal, about the Wanderer, about Tamsin's involvement with him. And if you're lucky I might let you leave without a single scratch."
"I don't have to tell you jack-"
Before Acacia's sentence came to an end Bo launched both hands out, grasping her tightly by her jacket. In one swift movement she wrenched her around, pulling her up so furiously from the stool that the other female almost lost her footing. "I am not here to play games, tell me what you know or I swear to god you will be back in Valhalla sooner than you think!" Her eyes were flashing a dangerous blue, her gaze was steady and icy, yet her temper was as scorching as an inferno.
The scene had disturbed all of the other dark fae from their business, some were watching in entertainment, hoping for a good show, and others were busy cracking their knuckles and scowling at the idea of the succubus bringing her drama into their after hours 'hang out'.
"You'll pay for that..." Acacia seethed furiously and within the next moment she was swinging up the hand that had been waiting against the hilt of her machete. The weapon was drawn out in a swipe and she used even less time to swing it forward at the succubus, though her short fused temper easily got the better of her as her aim was heading directly for the other female's jugular.
Even in her stressed state Bo hadn't come to this bar half prepared, as soon as she saw the glint of the sharp blade that was coming for her, she release her hold on Acacia and leaned herself away, tipping her head back, left watching as the weapon aggressively cut through the air in front of her. She may have avoided the slash, but the way that a single strand of her hair had been sliced alerted her that it was a very close call, if she had been half an inch closer then she would have been in very serious trouble. The succubus collected herself and recovered quickly, she pulled forward again and launched her elbow into the valkyrie's chest. As the hit connected she followed through, using the rest of her arm and shoulder to also knock into Acacia so that she could shove her backwards. And it worked to a success when the woman winced and then staggered, seemingly having some of the wind knocked from her.
"That was close, you almost had me," Bo wasn't one for taunting but she was in no mood to play hero to a person who was trying to give her a killing blow, "but I guess those old bones must really be slowing you down, what are you...about five hundred years old? Or is that too young?"
Her words were creating a more belligerent atmosphere, she could see the other woman's face turning a different shade from anger alone. And then she braced herself, the valkyrie was rushing at her again, making more slashes and swipes in her direction. All of which were being aimed at her arms, torso and head. Bo was forced to dodge one, while anticipating where the next was coming from, she could feel the air of each strike, but the contact was never made. She watched for the next attack and when it came she slammed her hand into Acacia's wrist, pushing her arm and the machete back, thus allowing her an opening to toss her other closing fist into the woman's jaw. But again the hit was intended to do nothing more than knock her back.
"Will you just-"
Bo's eyes widened halfway through her words when she suddenly felt her arms being grabbed forcefully from behind. Having not expected someone else to get involved she attempted to turn her head left, and then right to see who exactly was jumping in. But to no surprise it was just some other dark fae in the bar, a redcap from what the succubus could catch a glimpse of. "What the hell..." Her words came through a growl as she started to struggle.
However, by that point Acacia had recovered and was currently using her thumb to wipe the blood from her bottom lip, "haven't you learned anything sweetcheeks? There are no rules in a dark fae bar, you should always bring a little back up along with you if you come into a place like this...but wait...that's right, your little sunshine gang are all light aren't they? And you don't even have a weapon, bad news for you, kid."
As the valkyrie made a lunge forward, Bo forgot how to breathe as she saw the blade coming at her once again, this time in a downwards attack. Each second seemed like a lifetime, her arms were useless to her now, so she kicked her feet up and off of the ground. With a fortunate precision she caught the blade in between her boots before it came any closer to her body. "Actually..." The succubus breathed through clenched teeth, giving her ankles a quick rotate to one side, making the machete twist - which also caused strain to Acacia's wrist, forcing her to grunt and relinquish her hold on the weapon. "I am the weapon." Bo let no more time pass before she gave her head a sharp jerk back into the male who still had a hold of her. Judging by the crack she guessed that she had severely injured his nose, if not broken it, but no less his hold on her loosened. It was enough for her to spin herself around, and then she made little work in throwing her fist into his face. But this time when another crack sounded she knew that it was because she had knocked him out cold. Hell, if the punch didn't do it then when the redcap collapsed and whacked his head onto the counter midfall sure would have.
By the time that she spun herself back around she could see that the valkyrie was in the middle of recovering, again, and rubbing along her injured forearm, but Bo wasted no seconds, she lunged at her, using one hand to grasp her by the throat while her other proceeded to tighten into a closed fist. "Now I really didn't want to do this, but you've left me no choice." Truly if she could have avoided violence then she would have, but her patience was beyond the point of wearing thin. She held firmer onto the now struggling woman and reeled her fist back in preparation to deliver what would only be a devastating strike.
Only, like before she felt another intervention. Her wrist was grabbed to stop her from initiating her attack. 'These dark fae assholes never quit,' she thought bitterly to herself, assuming it was another gang member from the redcaps who was getting on her last nerve this time.
Although when she shot a shady glare to her left to see who it was that held her forearm her eyes immediately widened and her heart froze.
"Tamsin?"
Bo couldn't believe what she was seeing, or who she was seeing as the case was. In front of her, her gaze was stuck on the image of the taller blonde, she was no longer a teenager but in full adult form again. The succubus recognized the blue leather jacket that she wore instantly, it was the same one she recalled seeing her in when the saved Kenzi from Inari a while ago.
"You look like you've seen a ghost, succulette," the fair haired valkyrie replied through a smirk.
Her trademark smirk.
It sent the succubus whirling into further confusion, she hadn't even realized that she had let Acacia go by now, and even when the older woman was staggering back and rubbing her throat she still didn't notice. Her eyes were only fixed upon the light green orbs that were staring straight back at her. It was intense. She didn't know what to feel. Relief? Anger? More relief? Shock? She couldn't remember what words were, or how to use them. They were all stuck in her chest, refusing to even venture up to her throat. Her wrist was loose in the valkyrie's grip, as if all strength had faded from it upon first contact.
"Nice timing Tam," Acacia grumbled as she got over the ache in her neck, having underestimated how strong the brunette's choke hold could be, "you cut that pretty close."
Tamsin's brow arched with little amusement, "whatever," her focus was more on watching Bo than replying to her mentor, but then she resorted to a more fitting statement, "everyone out, the bar is closed," she gave a few seconds for the other fae around to hear her order, "unless you would all prefer to be doubted into oblivion."
The threat seemed to do the trick, within seconds the other patrons were rising from their seats and making their way to the exit, the bartender following behind and being left to carry out the redcap that had been knocked out no more than five minutes ago.
"You too Acacia," Tamsin added slyly, "I think your blood pressure has been up enough for one day."
The older valkyrie feigned a look of hurt on her face, "and here I thought I taught you to have decent manners," she pushed her luck, but when she saw the blonde giving her a dry look she released a deep sigh, "alright alright I'm going, you can handle the cranky brunette by yourself."
'What the HELL is going on?' Bo must've ran the question through her head over thirty times by now. She was barely aware of anything at the moment since she was so lost in staring at the valkyrie. Astonished was an understatement for how she was currently feeling. A part of her wanted to kick Acacia's smug ass but she couldn't even focus on that anymore.
Once the bar was cleared things became painfully quiet.
Reality swarmed back into the succubus and in defense she hauled her arm to herself and straight out of Tamsin's grip, easing back two steps to create a saner distance. Why in the world did the valkyrie look so confident? Where was all of the trembling and worrying that she had been reduced to last week? That uncertainty didn't even seen to exist anymore. Was she good? Bad? It was a blur, although given that she had just arrived in time to save her mentor had Bo on edge.
"So, for the past week you've been slumming in a bar buddying up with your old pal?" She couldn't stop the anger from leaking into her voice, she felt like she was about to explode at any minute. It was a frustration that only the blonde had ever been able to bring out from her.
Tamsin scoffed and rested her hand upon her hip, "I'm not that dull, I used the time to find myself, and running into Acacia just happened to help with kickstarting some of my old memories."
"Old memories huh?" The blue in Bo's eyes had faded seconds ago, but it nearly sparked back up as she delved her hand into her pocket, rummaging around for seconds before she pulled out the Wanderer tarot card, and then she shoved it directly towards the valkyrie. "Like this, you mean? I guess you were too busy running out of The Dal that you forgot to pick it up."
A low growl came from the valkyrie, she made no move to take the card, therefore it just ended up drifting towards the ground, "well at least I know what has got you so worked up, although that being said you're kind of sexy when you are trying to be a one woman army in a dark fae bar."
The succubus was taken aback when she saw the grin that was reemerging on Tamsin's lips, she tried desperately to ignore how charming it was, so she shook her head, "cut the bullshit Tamsin, you've been playing me all along so I'd say that gives me the right to get worked up, and if you think that you are going to deliver me to this boss of yours then you are painfully mistaken."
"God, you can be so dramatic, how exactly have I been playing you all along? By saving your life countless times? By helping Kenzi?" Tamsin gave a short and effortless list, clicking her tongue. In her own way she was also revealing that she had retained her memories. Seven days was an incredibly short time, but she had cared so much about remembering who she was that she pulled out every stop.
Bo looked like she was hearing words in a foreign language, "are you serious? Tamsin you have been lying to me the entire time that we have known each other. You're a bounty hunter and I'm the hunted, do I have to spell out to you how bad that is?" Her own blood pressure was starting to rise and she hadn't even been speaking to the blonde for more than one minute. Hundreds of questions suffocated her brain, but she was speaking impulsively.
"I haven't been lying to you succulette, there were just certain things that I hadn't told you," Tamsin shrugged her shoulders, "and for the record I made that deal a very long time ago, way before you even existed, I had no other choice."
"No other choice? Uh...how about doing the right thing? Y'know? The good thing by not targeting someone that you don't even know."
"Do you even know what a bounty hunter is? Or do I have to spell it out for you?" The valkyrie was using Bo's words back against her in a mocking way. Behind her stubborn façade she was ecstatic to see the succubus, and to remember everything about her; everything that they had. But she wasn't one for wearing her heart on her sleeve and she could see that the brunette was majorly pissed off at her. She suspected that one wrong move was going to lead to a disaster. Yet that didn't stop her from allowing her gaze to drift up and down the female's body. "You look tired."
"Yeah, well...I haven't been feeding," the succubus answered uncaringly.
"That's a dimwitted move, you're a succubus Bo, you can't starve yourself."
"A dimwitted move!? I was choosing to be loyal to YOU!" That done it, Bo's temper had snapped as she now began to march the remaining steps forward, erasing the distance between them. "I was being monogamous to YOU." She emphasized again, angrier than the first time. "Even though YOU are the one who has been waiting for the right moment to betray ME. Let me tell you how relationships work Tamsin, since you seem to have trouble with the general concept of anything that involves a heart; you don't sleep around with more than one person when you are involved with someone."
"Really? That hasn't stopped you before, I thought for sure that Lauren would've been right in there-"
There was a sharp 'whack' before Tamsin could even get to the end of her valkyrie's jaw suddenly ached after being on the unwanted end of Bo's fist. Normally she could get away with taking her digs, but the brunette was even more fired up than she predicted. "Ouch, that wasn't the welcome home kiss that I was hoping for."
"Screw you..." The succubus felt guilty for having lashed out but she couldn't stop herself, she was in a very irrational set of mind. "I've been stressed to death all week worrying about you! I didn't even get a call from you! But out of all of the places I find you, it's here! With Acacia! Dripping with attitude!"
"Just the way you like me best, right?" The valkyrie saw the second hit coming from a mile away, as soon as Bo took another swing for her she leaned to the side and dodged. "C'mon babe, you're too exhausted to fight me."
"Shut it, valkyrie lips, you and Acacia are going to have a lot in common by the end of the night, the next time you see her you'll be able to compare notes on how it feels to have your ass kicked by yours truly!"
"Look, clearly you're stressed and the lack of feeding is making you act irrational. I've spent time with Acacia to try and remember more about my deal with-"
In the middle of the valkyrie's words her eyes widened as the succubus lunged at her, aiming for some type of sucker punch. Being as sharp as ever Tamsin dodged by taking a single stride back. 'I don't think she's ever been so pissed off at me before...' She knew that a lot of it was because of what had transpired lately, if she was in Bo's position then she would have been painting the town red by now. Another swipe came for her and she evaded it again, but it was getting closer. So either she was slowing down or the brunette was speeding up - and she definitely wasn't slow. "I'm not your enemy Bo-" Tamsin rushed the words out before being forced to duck as the female's arm swung at her, "-god dammit will you stop trying to hit me!?"
Bo refused to listen to reason, she was too agitated, she may have spent endless hours pining for the valkyrie but she was so hyped up about everything, she didn't know what to believe and her conflict with Acacia had set her off on the war path even more. "You should have told me about your deal from the start!" Catching the blonde by surprise, she grasped at her by the collar of her jacket and shoved her up against the wall, eliciting a grunt, the plaster became dented due to the force of the slam alone. Her blue eyes bore into Tamsin's green ones and she could see that slow fire that was rising in them.
"Maybe that's true," the valkyrie frowned and gave her arms a rough whack at the brunette's wrists to knock her grip off of her jacket, "but I'm not going to be your punching bag because of it." As more words came she found herself lashing out in a similar agitation, one hand grabbing Bo's shoulder while the other clenched at her hipbone and then she spun with her, reversing their roles and mirroring the sharp push until she was forcing the succubus up into the same wall. From impact alone, a new dent was made.
"You ran," Bo keened and tried to struggle against the blonde's vice-like hold, but she was stopped abruptly when Tamsin's body crushed into hers to keep her pinned, nearly squashing the oxygen from her lungs, "you just...you didn't even say a word! I woke up and you weren't there, what the hell am I supposed to make out of that?"
Each word felt like a battering ram hitting into Tamsin, she had no physical way of denying what was being said, no tricks of getting around it, "yes," she breathed her answer about running, "yes," she confirmed to not saying a word, "and yes," she confessed to not being around when the succubus awoke in The Dal that day, "I was naive, you were angry, I didn't want you to hate me. And I could feel everything breaking up, so I took off to spare myself from seeing it all fall apart."
"You didn't stick around long enough to try and keep it from falling apart," the succubus tried to sound factual and forceful, she had been hurt so many times in her life that she didn't want to resort to letting that pain express itself fully, "I thought you knew me better."
"That was the thing - I didn't," Tamsin growled when Bo jerked forward to fight against her hold, thus she pressed harder into her, "I was reborn, I didn't even know myself, let alone you. But I do now. I remember everything about you."
"And everything about your deal..." The succubus gave an offhand comment, holding the valkyrie by the sides so tightly that she wouldn't dismiss the fact that she could claw through the leather if need be.
The firmness of the grip caused Tamsin to wrinkle her nose, though she made no remark about it, however the consistent mention of the deal was beginning to play on her nerves, "okay I'm going to make one thing clear to you, if I wanted to hand you over to my boss then I could have done it a long time ago."
"You made me a victim before you even knew me-"
"-before you were even born, actually." Tamsin corrected the statement.
It done nothing to help their situation however, apart from flare Bo's temper more.
Deciding to amend her bluntness, she frowned, "I was greedy back then, I cared only about being the best and the man I met was overwhelming, I didn't have the strength to refuse him, you have no idea how daunting he was," she explained, managing to calm down the succubus' squirming slowly, "he described who he was looking for and I...I was honestly relieved because I was so sure that the person couldn't exist. Would never exist. Eyes both brown and blue, neither dark nor light. Lustful. Virtuous. There wasn't even a single soul accounted for on Earth, Valhalla or Hél who came close to matching that. But then...I met you..."
"And then, what? All of the bells just rang off?"
"It wasn't like that at all," the valkyrie came close to snapping in defense, "at first I thought you were just some ditzy succubus that Dyson couldn't get over, he spoke so highly of you and it annoyed me because I was pretty sure that no one could be that amazing." Even while she was in the midst of speaking she couldn't help but start to sound annoyed, as if she was reliving the emotions that she was so consumed by back then. "But then we spent more time together and I finally understood what all of the fuss was about. God, Bo, I was so engrossed with you that I couldn't even remember the deal I made. You were right in front of me, showing off every sign and I was too captivated to even notice it. Or maybe I just didn't want to believe it...I don't know..."
Bo didn't want to let the taller woman's words sink into her, she was all over the place with her emotions, "that's not fair, you aren't allowed to try and lay down all of this romantic bullcrap on me when I want to kick your ass," she grumbled and tried arching her back from the wall to resist the valkyrie's grapple.
"Honey, I'm the farthest thing from romantic, and you've never been able to kick my ass."
"Oh yeah? Well times change."
And in the next fleeting second Bo launched her lips into Tamsin's, taking them both by surprise initially from the familiar feel and taste. Her heart started to pummel hard into her ribcage. Kiss, or feed? Feed or kiss? Both options whirled in her mind like an untamable storm, but in the end the accumulative hunger won her over. The color in her eyes glowed brighter as she proceeded to draw out the valkyrie's exquisite chi; the blue mist of energy passed between their mouths with an unsteady flow. Little groans came from the blonde and the succubus answered with craving moans as they braced themselves against the damaged wall. To the brunette it felt like she was sucking in all of the oxygen from the bar.
However, to Tamsin if felt like she was getting all of the oxygen sucked from her - even though there was no real way to describe the experience of being a pick-me-up to a succubus. Bo's hands were fisting into her hair before she knew it and she felt her nails scraping into her scalp, followed by urgent tugs against her locks, bringing their faces closer together. Seconds felt like minutes as the feeding session continued, part of the valkyrie consented to it because she knew that the brunette needed to curb her starvation. Still, her resolve was outstanding and when enough was enough she tore herself away from the succubus, half staggering, half panting. Not many people had the power to save themselves from succubi feeds but it was a nifty trick she had taught herself. All of those centuries of resistance hadn't been for nothing.
Bo was coming to against the wall, letting the borrowed energy sink into her, she too was left panting, though for entirely different reasons. Even after all this time the valkyrie's chi tasted out of this world. It overwhelmed all of her senses, fulfilling her and leaving her with the feeling of wanting more; needing more.
"Is that your way of kicking my ass? Succu-kissing me to death?" Tamsin swiped her tongue across her bottom lip, recovering well from the exertion, she saw how Bo was looking at her and how she was watching the movement of her mouth unfailingly. This encounter may have started out from anger and despair but now she was getting the vibe that it was anger and something else. "Alright baby, I'll play along, but when I win you owe me an apology."
'Wait, does this mean she is actually going to fight me?' Bo's head cocked in confusion as she saw the valkyrie's blue jacket sliding along her arms, revealing the simple yet appropriate white tank top beneath, the type that clung to her torso in so many ways that were already distracting the succubus. "Nice to see that you're as cocky as ever."
"Really? Because from the look of things I'd say that you are more focused on 'seeing' something else," the valkyrie remarked, making it known that she was all too aware of the blue eyes ogling her bust, she was being mentally undressed and she couldn't help but taunt, "do you want to take a picture or something?"
"Just get your head in the game, detective smart ass."
"Funny, I could say the same to you, it's going to be easy to beat you if you're too busy forgetting that I have a face up here," the blonde smirked and waved her hand in front of her general head level to snap the brunette's attention to her. And it worked like a charm. Now that she had her memories and her attitude back it was effortlessly easy for her to push the other woman's buttons. She knew that her taunt would push Bo into making the first move - and it did. As soon as the succubus rushed at her she presumed that she was about to throw another punch at her face, or torso. However, she hadn't expected to feel the brunette's foot swinging out, sweeping her two legs directly from under her. Tamsin would have been taken to the ground were it not for the conveniently untucked chair behind her, which she fell back into instead. She loved that she couldn't predict the succubus half as well as she thought she could.
And Bo seemed to love it just as much judging by the proud gleam that was trying to reach her eyes.
But the valkyrie cut the victory short as she reached out with her hand, grabbing tightly against the leather belt that was holding Bo's jeans up before she hauled her in sharply, leaving the female with no other choice than to trip onto her, unintentionally straddling her. A cunning grin curled into the corner of Tamsin's mouth as she wound her arms strongly around the flustered succubus, keeping her strictly on her lap. "That was a nice move," she breathed down the front of Bo's throat, enjoying hearing how her next inhale was taken in sharply and thenhow it was held," you caught me off guard, not an easy task by any means."
Between listening to Tamsin's words and feeling her strong arms circling possessively, Bo was at a loss as to how to respond. She was physically stunned, and emotionally flabbergasted. Wasn't she supposed to be going into a fit of rage? Kicking the valkyrie's ass? Screaming and shouting? God, minutes ago she had been sticking so well to that plan, but the more time she spent with the blonde the more she was beginning to realize how good it was to see her, to feel her, and how much she had truly missed her. She didn't know what to do with her hands, so she just rested them on the female's tense shoulders and squeezed firmly every time she felt her breath tickle her skin.
"Let me ask you something succulette," Tamsin's limbs were locked so masterfully around the brunette that she was damn sure there was no chance of escape, "just one little question," she teased and chafed her teeth along Bo's larynx, gently. It amused her to feel how the slight contact made the succubus wriggle on her lap, like she was having some sort of unforeseen malfunction. The situation was completely out of her control now, they both knew it, it had been that way the moment that Tamsin had first locked eyes with her.
It seemed all to obvious to the brunette about what she was going to be asked, her palms were sweating as she tried to fight the urge to breathe whenever the valkyrie's teeth moved across her throat. Because if she breathed, then she would moan, and it would be a giveaway that she was succumbing.
"Am I still your girlfriend?"
A simple question, but in this circumstance it was make or break. It was another thing that they were both very aware of. Though Tamsin held an uncanny confidence in her voice, from the moment she had seen the succubus she spied the fact that she still continued to wear the necklace that she had given her for her birthday. There wasn't a time where she could recall seeing her without it, she seemed to keep it on religiously. They hadn't broken up, they had just gone through an unfortunate series of events, mishaps and rough patches. But which couple didn't?
With her resolve withering away Bo's lower lip trembled when the valkyrie's mouth ventured up the length of her neck, reaching her ear. Her insides seemed to turn to mush when she could practically feel her grin. All of her bodily instincts told her to arch her back when the blonde's hands started to crawl along her spine slowly, toyingly. She couldn't believe how quickly her rage backfired against her. No one had done this to her before, not Lauren, not Dyson.
"Come on lover, you said that we were great together, you said that you couldn't let me go," Tamsin was requoting the words the succubus had spoken to her the last time they had seen each other in The Dal, "you told me all of those things, now I need you to let me know...am I still your girl?"
"...of...of course..." Bo surrendered and let the words out through a shuddering breath, the valkyrie was winning her over like she always done. "Of course you're still my girl."
That was all the valkyrie needed to hear, she didn't wait around for any more words, she craned her head away from the brunette's ear and crushed her lips into hers with a merciless force, drawing out a low groan from the succubus. Her tongue was readily accepted as she plundered it into her lover's mouth - and it had nothing to do with chi this time around. In seconds they were waging a very different kind of war. Bo's fingers clamped around the straps of Tamsin's vest top, scrunching the material and yanking her in closer, or as closer as she could get. Meanwhile the valkyrie's hands explored the succubus' sides, fondling her every curve, reacquainting herself with the highly desired contours of her body. The passion igniting between them was exploding rapidly.
Bo gave a guttural moan when Tamsin's tongue curled around hers, goading her into a challenge which she knew she couldn't deny. Therefore her own muscle was beginning to chase, flicker and thrash wantonly against the valkyrie's. Suddenly their hands were everywhere on each other, groping over exposed flesh and tugging at unwanted clothes. They were both trying to 'one up' each other by being the more dominant toucher, but the blonde tried to assert her control by gripping the succubus by the hips and jerking her down hard into her that the legs of the wooden chair wobbled.
If this is how it felt whenever the two hadn't throw themselves at each other for a long time then the succubus really needed to consider playing hard to get more often, she was having difficulty keeping up with her girlfriend due to the fact that she was having trouble believing that this was all really happening. Tamsin was back, her memories were back and they were making up for all of that painful absence. But all of the lying and worry still had her fired up, hence why she broke the kiss and gave herself no time to breathe before she attached her lips to the valkyrie's neck, sinking her teeth into her pristine skin, hard.
"Shit, Bo..." Tamsin replied in a lustful groan, though the noise soon transformed into a breathless coo as the succubus followed up her actions by suckling greedily against the flesh she had just claimed. Then she swabbed her tongue over the now-marked flesh to soothe it, her touch turning from tough to tender. But all the same it had the valkyrie clinging to her for dear life. "And here I thought you were going to teach me a lesson by kicking my ass?"
"I still might." The succubus murmured and abruptly stood up, once more she grabbed at the straps of the valkyrie's top and hauled her up with her, turning on her ankles and giving her sarcastic lover a powered tug before she threw her down against the table, which promptly broke one of it's wooden legs from the crash alone. A low growl was the only reaction Tamsin gave as she attempted to prop herself up on her elbows, wanting to retaliate, although that thought was cut short when she had the alluring brunette crawling onto her lap, grabbing her by the shoulders and shoving her back down to ensure she stayed in place.
Bo lowered herself and attacked Tamsin's neck with her teeth and tongue, aiming to leave as many bruise-like marks behind on her that she could to remind the entire world that she belonged to her, and only her. Her body was burning with arousal and she ached severely for the valkyrie, just as she could sense that she was being ached for as hopelessly. "If I didn't know any better I'd say that you have missed me more than you've been letting on succulette." The blonde writhed when she felt those teeth clamping down over her throbbing pulse, she was getting no say in what was happening, even as she tried to touch Bo her hands were quickly grabbed and pinned to the hard surface of the table, which was rocking ever so slightly now that it was only being supported by three of it's legs.
"I love you." Amidst her onslaught of heated kisses the succubus cooed her words into the flesh next to her lips. The confession came out breathlessly and restlessly. She may have come in here looking to create chaos but now she was just the same lovestruck fae who had sorely missed her valkyrie. With the rebirth and last week's runaway it felt like years since she had been with Tamsin.
The three words seemed to set off a timebomb inside of the blonde, she applied more strength to fight against and overpower Bo's hands and then she gave her one sharp push backwards, watching as the female ended up being shunted off the table, stumbling with zero balance, but to her credit she didn't fall. A look of confusion crossed her features as she tried to regain her stance, but the valkyrie instantly hopped down from the table and threw herself at Bo. She pulled her in for another fierce kiss. Her heart was on the verge of exploding but she didn't care, she ignored it all and focused on retaking control, she needed to remind the succubus that she wasn't some dewy eyed teenager anymore. She had found herself again and she refused to become some timid puppy-esque lover.
Without full awareness the two had moved across the room and they only stopped when Bo's lower back bumped into the counter of the bar, but she was so busy stroking her hands along Tamsin's cheeks and kissing her that she paid no real mind to it.
A mistake on her part.
Tamsin grabbed the succubus by the hips, broke the kiss, and then she twirled her around before she pushed her facedown first against the counter. "Stay there," she ordered in a husky voice and looped her arms around Bo's waist, reaching around for the buckle of her belt so that she could undo it, but of course the brunette instinctively tried to twist around so she moved one hand up to press into her shoulderblade to push her forward again, "I mean it, stay right there or I'll stop and I don't think you could handle that."
"Tamsin..." The succubus uttered in a protesting way, she was frustrated that the valkyrie was the one with all of the cards, and she was doubly as stressed that she was showing it off by not even letting her face her so that she could touch her in return. She bit her bottom lip when she felt the blonde's hand returning to join the other at loosening her belt. There were harsh tugs and pulls, causing her hips to jerk a little but she tried to hold in her moans.
"Don't be like that," the valkyrie smirked in triumph as she ripped out the single button of the brunette's jeans and yanked the zipper down, slackening the waistband enough for her to get her hand down, "consider this payback for hitting me."
Bo arched up, trying in futility to grab at the flat surface of the counter when Tamsin's touch invaded beneath the thin fabric of her underwear, her sex was cupped firmly and she was amazed that she hadn't come undone right there and then from how much need she had built up for the woman. A slight groan fell from her lips when the valkyrie's face buried into the side of her neck, once more she felt her smirking against her and she could guess why. She was a mess of arousal and that much was discovered when her girlfriend's fingers stalked tormentingly through her wet folds. She was being played around with and it frustrated her.
"It's nice to know that I can still work my magic on you," Tamsin couldn't let it go, she teased the tip of her tongue in a slow upwards stroke until she was touching the back of Bo's ear, "I bet you've been ready for me ever since you saw me, right?" She felt the succubus trembling in front of her as she swiped her middle finger along the length of her slit, she probed lightly to toy with her, but as the brunette tried to rock her hips down she simply retracted her touch, refusing to take her on her terms. No, this was her victory and she was going to decide what to do with it.
"I thought you said that you've got all of your memories back, do I have to spell out for you what to do next?" The sexual frustration laced Bo's voice as her nails scraped harshly across the top of the counter, the valkyrie was making a habit out of stroking her and pinching at her sensitive flesh, but nothing else.
"Well if you could-"
"ME. That's what. I'm what you've got to do next. Me. Or is that the only thing that you can't remember?"
"I can't tell you how much I'm enjoying having you like this," Tamsin purred while she nibbled lightly against the back of Bo's ear, "you're really hot when you aren't the one in control. Luckily for you I'm very forgiving, I'll end your suffering, but I want you to tell me how much you want me first."
"Isn't it obvious? Can't you feel for yourself?"
"Or I could just...stop..." While speaking the valkyrie started to lift her hand, as though she was going to withdraw it from being stuck in the confines of the other female's pants.
Bo sucked in a sharp breath, panicking, "no wait," she blurted out and moved her hand to curl around Tamsin's wrist, trying desperately to keep her from stopping her current ministrations, "c'mon Tammy, you know that I need you, I've never stopped wanting you, please..."
Throughout her lover's whimpering words Tamsin felt a pang of pleasure tingle inside of her, bringing life to her in a way that she only ever experienced around the succubus. Sure, she could have prolonged this torture but she would be lying if she said that she hadn't yearned for Bo just as badly. Without further delay she inserted two of her fingers inside of her; easing herself in slowly and strongly. She had the brunette moaning and trying to grind down so her other hand came to grab at her hips to hold her steady for her while she worked both digits in as far as she could. She was met with a warmth and tightness, and it only put proof to the matter that Bo hadn't been sexually active at all lately, but she was about to make up for all of those missed hours for her.
The succubus used her two hands to clutch onto the counter as much as she was able to, her heart pumped quickly and under her clothes she was flushed, Tamsin was mumbling sweet nothings into the back of her ear about how good she felt and it was enough to draw out further croons of bliss from her. She was given seconds to adjust before action was finally taken, the valkyrie's fingers began to move whilst they were tucked deeply inside of her, she assumed that there was going to be a gradual build into it - but how wrong she was. Surely the female had a point to prove because from the offset her thrusts were hard. Harder than she could ever recall them being...or maybe it really had been that long since she had felt this degree of intimacy with her. "Oh my god, oh god Tamsin...Tamsin!"
Of course it was a matter of moments before Bo was crying her lungs out, and it encouraged the valkyrie to crush her body in tighter to hers to keep her possessive hold over her while her digits worked into all of her sweet spots over and over again, the sheer intensity brought her up on her toes, but Tamsin just gave her fingers a sharp jolt to catch her off guard.
"I love you too," Tamsin finally returned the affectionate words that she had heard prior to trapping her girlfriend against the counter, her voice was grated with lust as she set herself into a rhythm with her skilled fingers, she knew exactly where to touch within the succubus that made her turn to putty for her and she was targeting all of those areas ruthlessly, "please tell me that your place is empty tonight..."
Even in the middle of the intense pleasure Bo held an urge to correct Tamsin by reminding her that the crack shack was her place too, but alas she could barely tell up from down, nevermind construct an entire sentence, "K-Kenzi...and Dyson are...there..." That was all she could manage before she resumed groaning, arching and generally writhing. Her nails were clawing at the counter and she was bucking her hips so frantically that the valkyrie was having a hard time holding her still.
"Good thing my truck is parked outside," the blonde bit her shoulder, "because there are a lot of memories I want to relive with you." The ball of her palm was grinding in harsher across her lover's swollen clitoris and she knew that it drove her wild when she saw her hands slam into the hard surface of the bar. It was becoming like the wall earlier - dented.
All that Bo could really focus on was each thrust coming from the valkyrie, every one pushed her mind up to cloud nine and higher, she was breathless and her throat was beginning to burn with how many vocalities were escaping from her, as well as several obscene words which she just knew made Tamsin's grin double in size. She was never going to be able to last at this rate, the blonde knew her too well and she was showing that with every curl of her fingers, and with every inward stroke. Areas of her neck began to bruise with the hungered biting that she could feel and her eyes became heavy lidded.
The feeling below her waist was swiftly leaving her and the only sounds to fill the bar was her cries and the way her body kept bumping into the counter.
Each movement from Tamsin was precise, authoritative and overall worthy of numbing the mind, so was it any wonder that the succubus was verging on her climax at an astonishing pace? She wanted to make everything last, the valkyrie's touch was consuming every inch of her and in surrender she tipped her head into her shoulder, giving more of herself over to her. It was an action that was well rewarded when her neck was rapidly assaulted by her girlfriend's lips. "Right there, Tamsin...god, don't stop, I'm so close...god Tamsin!" All it took was a few more forceful thrusts until the pleasure that had coiled inside of her finally reached it's limit and exploded. Tamsin's name burst from her lips like a broken record as her orgasm overpowered her, she was clutching for dear life against the counter, contracting around the valkyrie's fingers - which only seemed to pick up quicker movements to tide her through the brutal waves of her release.
"Louder Bo, say my name louder," Tamsin demanded, voicing her words into the shell of the convulsing succubus' ear as her fingers drove into her with the same thoroughness, aiming to wrack out every little orgasm she could find within her lover until she was spent,"I want the world to hear you, I want them to know that you are all mine."
It was unsurprising that the succubus hit her peak a second time with the sheer unsparing efforts from the valkyrie.
"TAMSIN!" She cried - no - she screamed out the name over and over again, sometimes quickly and other times roughly. Either way her throat was going to possibly be sore come tomorrow.
She honestly didn't give a damn about how much time had passed, irregardless of it being seconds or minutes she came to the same end result and slumped down heavily against the counter when her climax finally began to subside. But she could feel Tamsin leaning down with her, scattering kisses across her shoulder, even over the material of her top, and then leading up to her neck. She never thought the woman could be so hungry for her before, it made her question who the succubus was right now. Bo's eyes closed tightly and she could feel her heart thudding against the counter as she fought to catch her breath.
With a reluctance, Tamsin slowed down the harsh pace of her fingers and then she carefully retracted them from within her lover, taking time to grin when she heard the exhausted mewl coming from her. "I said let the whole world hear you, not the universe." She made a smarmy comment as she casually raised her glistening fingers to her lips so that she could gather herself a better taste of the panting succubus.
Bo's eyes opened when she heard the quiet sucking and she couldn't stop herself from trying to glance over her shoulder, watching intently as the valkyrie consecutively took each digit into her mouth, one after the other, to lap up the evidence.
Tamsin met her gaze and then gave a content smirk before shrugging her shoulders in a mock innocence, "what? You taste really good." Her lips were close enough to her girlfriend's that she was able to lean down an extra inch to steal a kiss from her.
Though it wasn't just a simple peck.
The succubus wanted a little more seeing as how her arousal was shooting up even when she was in the middle of trying to remember what legs were, she could taste herself against Tamsin's tongue and it caused her to moan softly. She reached back with her hand to comb her fingers through the female's soft blonde locks, also trying to pull her in closer.
To which Tamsin obliged immediately, her arms hugged firmly around Bo's waist as she helped her to lean up from the counter slightly better so that she could kiss her at a deeper angle. And for moments that was all they did. Kissed each other.
And when it stopped it was only because the succubus wriggled herself around in the valkyrie's arms so that she could face her, she needn't worry about falling seeing as she was held in a sturdy grip. "Well, I think you've learned your lesson about why you shouldn't lie to me..." She said, trying to put on a strict voice.
"Rightttt," Tamsin smirked and eyed the light sheen of sweat that was coating the brunette, "you taught me really well," she moved in to brush the front of her nose against Bo's, preparing to pose a question that was in dire need of being asked by this point, "so d'you forgive me? Or do you still want to kick my ass?"
"I forgive you," the succubus admitted and took in a deep breath, moving her hands up to stroke along her girlfriend's arms, "but I won't say that I'm not mad."
Tamsin responded by letting her bottom lip stick out in a feigned pout, making sure that the brunette saw it.
"Alright...I'm not mad."
"Better," the valkyrie graced her hands along Bo's hips, giving her a gentle tug up against her, "much better."
"But this business with The Wanderer..."
"We'll deal with that asshole tomorrow, okay? It was a mistake. I'm on your side, I promise. I've always been on your side. But right now I...I've just missed you succulette, so can't we just spend the rest of the night together?"
"Of course we can," Bo exhaled through a small smile as she caressed Tamsin's cheek with her left hand, "I'm sorry that I didn't give you time to explain, I was just...shocked..."
The valkyrie rolled her eyes and gave a light smirk as she tipped her head, planting a slow kiss to the brunette's palm, "how about we make it up to each other in my truck until there are no hard feelings?"
"You're on, valkyrie."
Well, that chapter certainly was a lot, I guess even when Bo is on a warpath she just can't stop herself from loving Tamsin! I'm so glad to finally be able to write our favorite snarky valkyrie back into the fold! She has been sorely missed...and I'm praying that badass Tamsin is going to be around in season 5! Not that season 4 Tamsin isn't amazing, she's adorable, but Valkubus started with two alpha females in season 3 and I sorely miss it! I loved the constant rivalry/respect/unspoken affection between Tamsin and Bo! xD
Anyway I'm sure next chapter I'll delve more into The Wanderer business, and of course there'll be even more Valkubus action since the girls have found each other again, thank goodness. I hate making them fight, but I also love it because I have no sides, one of the themes in this entire fanfiction that I've always stuck to is making the characters do what they believe is right, and that is definitely advice that I would give to anyone. Regardless of peer pressure or family/social expectations you've just gotta do what feels best for you in life, and what makes you happiest!
(Reviews! x] )
FlipChick23 - Well, that is the beauty about love, in the end it always finds a way! XD
WithLove - I loved throwing the 'succulette' part in there! I was bringing back some of the old Tamsin, though it's fair to say that she is making her comeback in this chapter, which I hope you enjoy! Aw and thank you so much! If I got a medal for writing a Valkubus fanfic that was over 320k words then I'd be my proudest achievement ever! But it's all thanks to people such as yourself, you've always been so supportive and lovely and it makes it really easy for me to continue. I'm one hell of a lucky writer! XD
GvMeOneResn - And I was so glad to update it for you! I've re-read over it and realized how much I missed writing about Bo/Tamsin, and with season 5 coming up I'm hoping that more light will be shined on Valkubus for us. It's going to be awesome to have the girls starting to track The Wanderer down in the upcoming chapters, I'm sure I'll be able to add in loads of drama here and there for you to enjoy! But thank you very much for the awesome review, I'm so happy to know that you are continuing to like what I've written! [x
bruubertolo - Oh I missed you more! Like 27361372 times more! xD But I guess Bo probably did see herself as a villain, thinking "Good grief...Tamsin's just a teenager...but still, she's gotta learn sometime!" Oh I'm just kidding...like she'd ever think that! ;D
And thank you for the tumblr, I'm pretty sure that I'm following you now and I don't mind the naught stuff at all, it makes my dashboard look so much brighter! ;)
Guest(s) - Well one way or another the issue with the card is finally out in the open, and the girls are getting on track to dealing with it! x'D
Oh, and to the other guest, don't worry my friend I'm not behind on Lost Girl at all, actually I'm already speculating and hypothesizing what I think is gonna happen in S5! This story is very AU from the series, but it has a way of still paving along on the same path! c:
Jaddy86 - Thank you so much! I wanted to write a little of all of the characters in just to add more realism, so I'm very happy to hear that you liked that! It's amazing to remember that there is still a world going on outside of Valkubus, 'cause sometimes I forget! ;D
l0st4y0u - Ah and I'm glad to be back too! It's awesome to be able to write for you all, especially when the new season of Lost Girl is slowly getting closer, and thanks, I'm sure that by now I'm following you back on tumblr but if not then I'll fix that pronto! xD
BSwifty1997 - That is so awesome! *high five* Congratulations on passing your level 2 course, I hope that level 3 goes smoothly for you this year!
Don't you worry, The Wanderer stuff tried to push them apart...but since I work differently from the show I found a way to bring them back together. ;D
Unsureself - And I keep loving you more and more too! Seriously you are awesome and I'm always ecstatic to know that you are still enjoying the story, and it's even better that you are able to understand where the characters are coming from and why their emotions are scattered. Awkward situations are always a pain to deal with, at the start of this chapter Bo was very confused and angry, but as soon as she saw Tamsin again I think she was really just happy to have her back, if that makes sense? XD
ValkuVauseQueen - I'm going to join in with this happy dance of yours because it sounds awesome! Exactumundo, Bo was probably unaware of the severity of what she was asking Trick, but she's a stubborn soul, if anyone can save Tammy then I'll be her! This chapter started off a little painful to write, mainly because I didn't want Bo getting angry with a young and vulnerable Tamsin...it's like shouting at a cute puppy, but somehow I had to get through it, so I hope you enjoy! And I believe that I'm following you on tumblr now, but if not then feel free to whack me...metaphorically! xD
TheJojo99 - Indeed I am darlin', indeed I am! And it is so good to hear from you again, I hope you are doing well! That's exactly how I feel too, I have no idea about who The Wanderer is because the show never cleary stated that it was Rainer, it's so confusing! It'll be a one year anniversary soon, so I'll have to do a merry little dance when I reach the day, and thank you for your tumblr username, I'm glad to be able to follow you on it! XD
AshleyDonovan - Thank you, thank you, thank you *takes a bow* I'm glad that my comeback has impressed you! And not to worry my absence won't be as long, I'm super psyched for Valkubus in season 5, I don't care what happens, seeing all of these goofy pictures of Anna and Rachel are making my feels rise! x]
P.S, I'M GONNA FOLLOW YOU RIGHT BACK! ;D
Isabel Q - That was the reaction I was hoping for! I've missed hearing Tamsin call Bo 'succulette' in the show, so I've wanted to keep it in the fanfic for as long as I can, it must never end! And I know...I'm horrible when it comes to throwing torture in at the last moment, but this chapter seems to end on a slightly happier note! There is going to be plenty of Valkubus loving, they've got so much time to make up for already! x]
But I'm glad that both sides of the story have affected you, I love being able to make Bo and Tamsin's positions understandable, they've both been through so many different ordeals, but the main thing is that in the end they find a way to tackle through it together. Rest assured, Lost Girl season 4 may have been a let down with the Valkubus content but I'm making it my purpose in life to account for it all in this fanfic, there'll be loads of Bo/Tamsin moments to come! XD
And don't worry I think in this chapter Tamsin definitely agrees with you about wanting to ignore The Wanderer stuff for a bit, so that she can focus on better things... ;)
P.S. I feel like I'm just as frustrating as the writers, if it isn't a book flying open that interrupts a Valkubus moment *cough* 4x11 *cough* then it's the damn Wanderer card!
Damn, I don't have a twitter and you don't have a tumblr, *wraps arms around you protectively* at least we're here though! But I'll make sure to check out your awesome stuff! XD
zigfiction - Awh thank you so much, I'm always happy to give you the best effect possible with the new chapters, of course it takes a little longer because I write a lot of content in it, but it's totally worth it at the end of the day! X]
angelsgir - Well first of all, thank you so much for joining the story, it's such an honor! And I'm so happy that you are enjoying it so far, I hope the future chapters entertain you just as much! xD
