Half an hour later, dinner was way on the way. Naru had decided on Thai green curry.

"Ooh smells good" Madoka stumbled into the kitchen, a little flushed from drinking, and in bright pink pjs.

"My son is such a good cook" Luella cooed, flushed aswell. She danced into the room with a flourish, patting her son on the head. He rolled his eyes. "Smile my darling Noll"

Mai and Madoka giggled in the corner, watching as Noll tried to avoid his dotting mother. "Mother, please stop, I'm cooking"

"Naru don't deprive your mum from loving you" Mai teased, going to check the food herself. "Wow this does smell good"

"My little boy is husband material" Luella squealed. Stepping away just in time to see the look he shared with Mai. His eyes softened when Mai smiled at him. "You guys are adorable".

"Luella!" Mai blushed. "Will you guys stop teasing me?"

"We will stop once you guys stop messing around" Madoka piled on, giving Mai a hug.

"Madoka let them be" Lin rolled his eyes. He spoke normally but to Madoka, he sounded more stoic and sexy then normal.

"Jealous?" Madoka then switched targets. "Don't worry babe, I'm not leaving you for Mai"

Lin sighed. "Thanks"

"Anything for you my love" Madoka blushed, holding her hot cheeks dramatically.

Luella muttered something about wishing Martin was being that openly affectionate with her.

She poured more drinks for everyone and with Madokas help, they set the table. Mai helped Naru cook, before making him his favourite cup of tea. He opted for the tea over a glass of wine.

"Thank you for cooking Naru, I will next time" Mai promised, taking hold of his hand.

"Sounds good" Naru agreed softly, kissing Mai on the cheek when no one was looking.

"Hey Mai, when do you need us out by?" Madoka asked, for the first time all day, being serious.

"What? I don't want you guys out" Mai assurred, blushing slightly at how openly concerned she sounded.

"You don't?" Madoka was beaming.

"I already promised Luella and Martin a two week stay here, wouldn't it be strange to have Narus parents here and not Naru himself?" Mai pointed out. "And if everyone else is staying, wouldn't it make sense for you both to stay too?"

"But aren't we imposing?" Lin asked this time, actually very conscious of the fact that Mai has offended them so much more then free accommodation in a beautiful house with all the amenities.

"This place has never been as comfortable and lively" Mai admittedly softly, smiling at Lin. "I want it to stay that way"

"Then you are Naru should have loads of babies" Madoka suggested, and Luella squealed in agreement.

"Yes, give me grandbabies!" Luella also demanded.

"Luella dear, that's quite enough excitement for one day" Martin scolded softly. His wife pouted before taking a seat at the table. Both Mai and Naru mouthed a "thank you" when they were sure Luella wasn't watching.

"Sorry, perhaps that is enough teasing for one day" Madoka smiled. "We just want you guys to know we support any decision you make"

"Hey Madoka, we won't really support any decision that does not give me grandchildren right?" Luella whispered loudly.

"No of course not, but babies is on the mind I'm hoping they will just do that" Madoka whispered back. Mai rolled her eyes.

"Dinners ready" Mai tried changing the subject, helping Naru place a rice and Thai green curry in front of everyone.

"Yuko not joining us?" Naru asked, having prepared enough for her too.

"No she said she would take a nap, but we will save her some" Mai explained, taking a seat next to Naru and Madoka. "I'm sure she will be happy to have someone cook for her for once"

Madoka snorted. "Can't cook hey Mai?"

"I can cook very well thank you" Mai pouted. "I don't have time to most days, I have two jobs remember?"

"You know, you don't have to work two jobs" Madoka rolled her eyes. "Doesn't seem like you need the money"

"You could give up modelling" Naru muttered. Mai heard.

"Don't like me modelling Naru?" She teased. Madoka and Luella had to stop themselves giggling.

"I just meant that I know you love being an investigator" Naru sounds calm, but Mai knew he felt embarrassed at how that sounded. "And you will probably get less creepy messages"

"People send you creepy messages?" Lin asked, very aware that he said that before anyone else could.

"Yeah my email got online because I used to have business cards" Mai sighed. "Not my best idea"

"What kind of things do they send?" Madoka asked, worried for the girl.

"Let's just say it's all crass and tasteless" Naru scowled.

"That bad huh?" Madoka frowned. "Why don't you let Lin optimise your email so unknown addresses get filter out?"

"Because it could be a job" Mai pouted.

"Well you could start to separate known emails into spam and job offers" Madoka suggested. "That would at least stop you seeing most of it"

"You could even set up an auto delete" Martin suggested, and everyone looked at him as if just remembering he was there.

"Not a bad idea" Mai agreed cheerfully. "Thank you"

"Why don't you go back to SPR?" Madoka mused, covering her mouth as she finished eating the food she was chewing.

"I can't just go back to SPR" Mai smiled sadly.

"Why couldn't you?" Martin raised a brow. "My son has informed me a little of your spiritual prowess, SPR would definitely welcome you"

"Might not pay as well as modelling, but you could even work in England if you wanted" Luella added, clearly shipping Mai and Naru.

"I will consider it" Mai smiled warmly, her eyes twinkling. "Thank you"

An hour and a half later, almost everyone had clambered off to bed. Mai had stayed to clean and Naru had stayed to finish his tea. Supposedly, that's all they were doing. Naru wasn't surprised however when Mai ignored the dishes in favour of making two more fresh cups.

"Care to join me a little while longer?" Mai asked shyly, taking a seat opposite.

"Is this the infamous 'what are we talk'?" Naru asked calmly, sipping his tea.

"I was hoping to build up to that, but yes" Mai blushed, looking at her tea. "So impatient" Naru smirked at her slight dig.

"It's understandable that giving the opportunity to be exclusive with me, you would want to take it" Naru smirked when Mai eyes flashed with embarrassment.

"Says you, I could have any man I wanted" Mai pouted.

"But you don't want just anyone" Naru smiled as Mai looked away, knowing she couldn't disagree. "Saying I couldn't have any woman I wanted?"

"You would probably scare most of them away" Mai rolled her eyes. "You may be handsome, but you are still a narsasist"

"So you still think I'm handsome?" Naru smirked up at her, his eyes gleeful.

"So narsasistic that you wont settle for anything other then perfection" Mai's smile dropped off her face. "Would we have been like this before you had left?"

"If I wasn't so impatient with you?" Naru thought for a moment. "It took me a long time to comprehend everything. I didn't even realise I loved you as much as I did till I left"

"Really?" Mai smiled. "It was the same for me, except I can recall the moment I was sure I was in love with you"

"Oh" Naru tried to sound casual. "When was that?"

"When you smiled at me" Mai was blushing, which just made her smile all the more endearing. "You had just saved my life, and said you were sorry for making me worry"

"And you told me it wasn't fair that I took 'all the best moments for myself'" Naru smiled at the memory.

"Well you do" Mai grinned, that same childish grin she wore when they worked together.

"Although I do miss saving you" Naru admitteded.

"I don't need saving quite so much nowadays" Mai's smile turned soft. "Although if anyone could save me, it would be you I'm sure"

"Mai will you go out with me?" Naru asked, keeping his voice steady. Mai looked up at the sudden question.

"I thought we were already" Mai laughed.

"I thought it best to ask" Naru shrugged. "It's not fair on me to assume as much without asking you"

"Well then yes" Mai blushed. "Although I'm thinking that we should keep this on a need to know basis"

"Best not draw more attention to me then strictly needed" Naru agreed with a sigh.

"I love you Naru" Mai smiled shyly.

"I love you too Mai" Naru whispered back.
