"Mum?...Mummy?...Mum?" a voice whispers into my ear slowly bringing me back into the present moment.

I can't hold in the groan that escapes my throat due to my head aching.

"Mum?" a familiar voice asks from beside me. Forcing my eyes open I'm blinded by a florescent white light which makes my eyes close once again.

"Ow" I mutter to myself. I try to open my eyes once again but I lift my heavy arm up to block the light.

"Mum?" the voice asks again, I now recognise as Joey, his figure peaks out of the corner of my hand.

"Yes" I manage to croak out of my dry throat

He looks at me in question "You ok?"

"Not particularly" I answer him "W-what happened and where are we?" I ask, trying to keep my voice even and not show the panic I was felling, as I smell the familiar smell of the hospital.

"Oh well, you see, when you fainted Bex called the guys and Grant carried you here" I look into his eyes. Joey always tried to hide any emotions that would upset me, but I saw through the mask he tried putting up. His eyes were full of worry.

"Here?"

He looked down at his hands "the hospital...you fanited w-w-when y-you..." I saw the tears welling up in his eyes and I wrap him in my arms. His body shook and I felt a wetness on my top. As I tried to calm Joey I look around were we where. It looked like the average hospital waiting room only emptier as there were only a few other people.

That's when it hit me. Everything that happened before passing out.

Graduation.

Zach.

Crash

Zach

I had to hold in my own tears that threaten to spill as my own emotions took control. I gently rocked Joey back and forth as his crys softened. Lifting his head, I used the pads of my thumbs to wipe the tears away.

"shhh sweetie, Zach is even more stubborn than me, he going to be fine" I whisper into his hair as he tucks himself into the crook of my neck.

"Where are the others?" I ask quietly to him.

He shrugs slightly before sniffing "I only know that Bex and Grant went to get hot chocolate and coffee"

I kiss his head and continue to rock him until a clearing of a throat breaks our peaceful bubble.

My head snaps up to the man in a white lab coat and a stethoscope hanging on his neck "Ms Morgan? My name's Dr Steve Sanders...We spoke on the phone?" the man spoke with a slightly red face. My eyes widened slightly.

"How is he? When can we see him? Is he ok?" I ask in a flurry

"I'm sorry I cant give any information to anyone but his legal guardian the only reason we informed you of his current state was due to when we first got him into the ambulance he kept muttering your name and we got your details off of your records"

"But he's 18! He is legally a adult!" I exclaim

"Ms Morgan I know but-" by this time I have Joey sitting in the seat next to the one we're currently in. I stand up straight and death stare into his eyes. His eyes widen slightly with what I hope is fright.

"Listen Doc if you don't tell me how he is, that stethoscope -you have around your neck- will be shoved somewhere very...unpleasant. And lets just say you'll need another doctor to remove it" I whisper harshly into his face. I am in no mood to play games

"Is that a threat Ms Morgan?" he gapes at me.

"No...Its a promise" I poke his chest.

He continues to blink and stare at me before clearing his throat "He has two fractured ribs, a broken risk along with broken a femur. He hit his head pretty badly but there seems to be no signs of head injury, luckily he was wearing a helmet. The real case for concern is the amount of blood he lost, we're having problem controlling it" he finishes still looking slightly scared.

"Ms Morgan, you need to understand that, if we were to give him blood, there's a small chance that his body will reject the blood transfusion...It doesn't help that Mr Goode has a rare blood type..."

At that moment his pager went off like crazy. On the side of his belt his walkie talkie started to crackle

"Dr Sanders code blue! Patient is going into hypovolemic shock"

Dr Sanders admittedly straightens and runs off to the direction he came from. I spot Macey and Kyle walking towards us. I start to run after Dr Sanders after screaming at Macey to look after Joey.

I have a bad feeling in my stomach.

Dr Sanders run into a room with me following.

I stare in horror at the scene.

Zach was so pale sitting in the hospital bed with nurses and doctors rushing around him.

"Put him on a IV!" Dr Sanders demanded. Zach's heart monitor was beating below what it should have been.

"He's losing consciousness!" one of the nurses shouted.

I know I shouldn't of got in the way of everything but I couldn't just stand idol. I ran up to beside his bed and grabbed his hand. Tears burned the corners of my eyes.

"Zachary Goode don't you dare leave me and Joey! Please Zach we need you...I need you" by the end I was sobbing.

"He's stable" one of the nurses breaths.

Like I said Zach was too stubborn

Joey was curled to Zach legs, and I was still holding his hand while resting on his chest just happy to watch it rise and fall. The gang had come and gone as Zach sleep in a drug induced sleep.

"G-Gallagher girl?" a voice croaks from above me. My head snaps up to Zach. He still looks exhausted.

Alive but exhausted.

Before I gave him time to speak I smashed my lips against his. After breaking the kiss I peppered his face with tiny kisses avoiding the scratches.

"Don't you dare do that again" I whisper "You scared us. I-I-I hate the idea of you leaving me" I sounded pathetic even to my ears.

"I'm sorry" he whispers

I look at him in shock "For what"

"Scaring you...ruining your graduation-"

I cut in "fuck graduation"

He chuckles slightly but winces "- I'm sorry I was stupid I should have been more careful"

"what happened?" I ask

"...I didn't see the car coming..." he sighs stoking my cheek. I looks down at his legs to the sleeping Joey.

"How is he?" he questions looking worried

"Scared...But happy, relieved, in joy that your alive" he closes his eyes before resting his head against mine.

"I love you Gallagher girl...so much" he whispers

"And I you Zachary Goode"
