Kurt was suspicious for the next few days. Blaine knew that to be a fact because Kurt would stare at him when he was on the phone. He would tell the countertenor he was on the phone with his parents, which he was sometimes. Sometimes he was talking to Finn and sometimes it was Sylvester.
Everything was planned it was just a matter of the plan actually working. Blaine's parents had already put a down payment down on an apartment in Lima, just in case it did work. The fact that his parents were backing him made Blaine so much better about this than he had when he and Finn had talked about it.
So on Monday when they were leaving their last class of the day, Blaine kept a tight reign on his phone. Kurt and he usually played on the others phone but not today. Too much rode on today.
He received the text in the middle of Warbler practice. Wes all but glared at him when he left the room.
From: Finn, 3:30 p.m.
Karofsky took the bait. He's in the office with Sylvester right now. She's acting as Principal cos Figgins got sick with mono.
Blaine was about ninety percent sure Sylvester had something to do with Figgins getting mono. The soloist had wondered how they were going to get Figgins to agree to expel Karofsky.
To: Finn, 3:32 p.m.
Text me if he gets expelled. If you don't text by four then I'll know the plan backfired.Blaine went back into practice and ignored the pointed glares from the Council. Before he sat down his phone went off again.
From: Finn, 3:35 p.m.
Karofsky's expelled for good since we have witnesses. Sylvester looks scary! I think that means the plan worked.
"Yes!" Blaine exclaimed loudly, blushing when everyone stared at him.
The soloist smiled sheepishly and grabbed Kurt's hand.
"We need to leave early, I hope you understand Council. Bye!"
It was the rudest Blaine had been to them. He knew Kurt was shocked as they left the room. He wouldn't say anything until he reached their dorm. Once they arrived Kurt pulled away and stared at him.
"What is going on with you? You've been weird all weekend."
Blaine made him sit down before he paced in front of him.
"Finn and I devised a plan to get Karofsky expelled. We got Sam to bait him, what with does not matter. We planned throughout the weekend with Coach Sue Sylvester. We went through with the plan today at three-fifteen p.m. Karofsky was taken into the office where Sylvester is acting as principal. He was expelled at three thirty-five p.m." Blaine told him, "Please don't get mad at us. We did it for your benefit. We figured you would feel better being around your friends as you dealt with what happened to you...us."
Kurt said nothing and stared at him. Blaine gaped and cleared his throat.
"What I mean to say is that being around Mercedes and your family will be beneficial for your mental health as they can help you. Plus I know that you miss your Dad. And you need to bond with your family as you didn't get much time to before you had to transfer. We did it for you so please don't destroy us!"
He didn't expect for Kurt to start crying. Blaine's eyes widened as he ran to the bathroom to grab Kurt's anti-depressants.
"No! I'm fine! I'm just really touched." Kurt told him from the other room.
Blaine stared at him, almost asking him to continue.
"I just haven't had people do things like that for me. Well except for my Dad, but it's my Dad, you know? I just..." Kurt trailed off, standing up and hugging Blaine tightly, "Thank you so much Blaine."
"It was nothing Kurt. You have to know by now I'd do anything for you."
Kurt pulled away, "But what about you? I mean, it's a two hour drive on a good day to Lima. I-I don't want to be selfish but I want you with me too Blaine."
The soloist smiled, "I know which is why my parents put a down payment in an apartment in Lima. And why they also are going to transfer me with you."
The countertenor blinked at him and gaped.
"You're...you're going to go with me? Why? What about the Warblers? You're their soloist Blaine!"
"And the Council knows about it. Sure, they aren't jumping for joy but they understand." Blaine said, "Alexis is going to reign them all in. Wes and David are behind me on this Kurt, they're mad as hell that we're leaving, but they understand it's better for you."
"Blaine-"
"Plus you've done a lot for me and your family. It's time for us to do something for you Kurt."
That sent the countertenor back into tears. Kurt hugged him tightly as sobs racked his body. A loud alarm started going off, as Kurt smiled at him sadly.
"I get to take my medicine." Kurt said, moving to the bathroom.
Blaine walked over to the bed and sat down. When Kurt came back out with both bottles, Blaine smiled sadly. He knew his boyfriend hated taking those pills. They made him feel detached and the only way Kurt could deal with that was by lashing out at everyone.
"So did I hallucinate when you said something about an apartment?" Kurt asked.
Blaine snorted, "No, you weren't. I know your Dad's rule about not having a boy sleep over and I'm not going to press the matter. The apartment is going to be two blocks from the school."
Kurt looked at him as he grabbed his water bottle, taking the two pills before licking his lips.
"You do realize you're uprooting your entire life for me, don't you? Won't you regret it?"
Blaine had actually thought about that after his mother had asked the same thing.
"Kurt, I rarely regret anything I do. The only thing I have regretted was running from my bullies but even then I got you so I guess I can't regret that. The only other thing was leaving you alone that night with Isaac, Eli, and Frankie." Blaine told him, "I'm never leaving you alone again if I have it my way."
Kurt hugged him tightly, "Thank you."
"Nothing to thank yet. Sure Karofsky isn't there anymore but the other jocks are. Good news is that we'll face them together."
"And the bad news?"
"They'll probably get their faces punched by Puck and Finn if they screw with us." Blaine said, shrugging, "Not bad news for us, but for their faces you see, it is."
Kurt snickered into his shoulder but didn't move.
"I love you Kurt and I hope you know I'm willing to do anything for you."
"I-I do and it scares me a little bit sometimes." Kurt told him, "I've never had someone do anything for me or for my benefit besides my Dad."
"Carole and Finn care about-"
"I know but they don't go out of their way-"
"Finn helped me plan Karofsky's expulsion. It wasn't all me baby boy."
Kurt didn't make a sound but Blaine could feel him trembling.
"Don't hold it in. Tell me what you're thinking."
Kurt said nothing and kept trembling which worried Blaine more than anything.
"Baby boy, remember what Burroughs said. You can't internalize all of this or you'll get worse."
His boyfriend just kept shaking in his arms before Blaine pulled back and made Kurt look at him.
"Kurt, look at me." Blaine said, "What's wrong?"
"I'm just a little bit overwhelmed at the moment." Kurt told him, "I just-I didn't think I'd ever get the chance to go back to McKinley because of Karofsky but you guys...you..."
"What baby?"
"You guys went above and beyond the call of duty for me and I don't know how I'm ever going to thank you."
Blaine kept a tight grip on Kurt's waist, "Nothing to thank Kurt. Just focus on you and we'll do whatever is needed to help. Everyone just wants you to get better."
Better, like he had some sort of sickness when he didn't. Kurt sniffled as Blaine pulled him into another hug.
"Why have you stuck around for so long? Anyone else would have run." Kurt said against his shoulder.
Blaine hugged his boyfriend tighter. He knew that question was coming, it had been a long time coming in fact.
"Kurt, what happened wasn't your fault. I know you know that. I love you, I'm in this for the long haul. I can deal with crazy mood swings and your diva attitude because right now, they're apart of you. Am I going to miss what we had before? Yeah I will. But that doesn't mean I don't love you any less. We're both going to grow from this and our relationship is going to be stronger." Blaine said, "Plus how many opportunities am I going to have to be with someone more badass than Noah Puckerman?"
Kurt laughed again and it almost sounded normal except for the wet sound that followed it.
"I think I'm going to take a nap or something." Kurt said, "Can you tell the guys-"
"Don't worry about it." Blaine said, "Get some rest, I have some calls to make."
Kurt smiled at him as Blaine left the room. He didn't make it far before Wes and David were there in front of him.
"Is he okay?" Wes asked.
"Did he take the news well?"
Blaine blinked at them, "Yes he's fine and he took the news well. I need to call his Dad and my own parents to let them know what's going on. I'm really sorry guys that-"
"Look, we thought about it last night. Dalton isn't the place for Kurt. The past few weeks have been crazy for him especially because of people like Alexander. Plus it's time you got back into the real world." Wes said, shrugging, "Sure it sucks we lost two of our key members but we aren't going to hold it against you. Your first priority is to your boyfriend...well it might be your second priority since your family should come first. But if Kurt needs a better environment then you have to do what you can to give it to him right?"
"Yeah Blaine, it's cool. Just make sure you visit us from time to time."
Blaine smiled at the two before hugging them. They hugged him back just as tightly.
"Thanks for understanding guys. It means a lot that I'm not leaving with you guys mad at me."
"Like anyone could be mad at your hobbit ass for long." David said, snorting.
Blaine shoved him away playfully before holding his phone up.
"I've got some calls I have to make but I'll see you guys in the commons later okay?"
When both nodded Blaine walked off, already dialing Burt's cell.
