Larsa had grown up surrounded by corruption. Some could argue that he still was; but being an official of the government would do that to one. While his younger self was being pampered with being taught the etiquette of Lord, the basics of fair sword play, the languages of different worlds - his family died one by one and the government as growing evil. He had to stand up to his own brother. H had believed Vayne a sensible and great man and was greatly pained to see an end to his Lord Brother; and even sorrier that he was thrust onto the Archadian throne at such a young age. What had he missed in those last six years of childhood? Would he ever get to parole the skies, unaccompanied by a Judge of some kind, in an airship he finally learned to control? Would he ever be able to carelessly "date" as the other youngsters did? Would he even get his first kiss? The young emperor spent his teenage years as a hopeless romantic, dreaming of what life was like on the streets with a young woman at his side. It was the only way he could think of that would keep him from turning to the past men of his family - corrupt and seething with madness that so far, seemed to be hereditary.

Ria had grown up bathed in the dirt of the slums. Her mother had barely made it by as a laundress, trying to raise six children as best she could. Ria, being the eldest once her brother had died as a soldier, was handed over the responsibilities of the head of the dirty household. Her mother was near constantly gone, barely earning her meager pay, and Ria had dropped out of the lowtown school early to care for her siblings. She was a poor woman, and they were a poor family. She had no idea of education or luxury until she had met the emperor.

Xiomara grew up as a real child should. Because she was the daughter of an Imperial family, she obviously learned proper manners, politics, and was more advanced in her studies than most children - but her mother immersed the young lady into the life of commoners to give her more awareness as a future empress. Xio had friends she treasured, dreams of an optimistic future, and she even dabbled in the relationship field. She knew her limits and they were never pushed uncomfortably. Xiomara stood up for herself. She had the strong will of her mother, enforced by memories of her late father. The Archadian state had no doubt in her future reign, nor did they worry for the continuance of the proud House Solidor.
