I don't own Silverwing or Guardians of Ga'Hoole. I only own this story and the characters not in the books.

Shade, Marina, the Starwings, and the Band had left the mountains far behind them. But they were also being tracked by Goth and Throbb. The two giant cannibal bats had taken the bands of the bats who remained with Sirocco and put them on their wings. The dozens of extra bands made enough noise to warn the groups of bats and owls where the tow cannibals were.

It had been a while since anyone had eaten and they needed food. When Goth and Throbb were far away, the Starwings, Shade and Marina decided to go out and look for food. The band wasn't happy when they had been told to stay in hiding while the bats went out and got food.

"What do you mean you want us to stay here while you get the food? We're all just as hungry as you bats, even more so. We can handle Goth and Throbb. We're not helpless chicks who just hatched." stated Twilight.

Eclipse tried to calm his Great Gray owl friend.

"I know you can handle yourself Twilight. You give some of our best Black Aura Clan warriors a real challenge, but we are not back on Ga'Hoole or in the territory of the ten Starwings Clans. We all know you, Soren, Gylfie, and Digger could fight off Goth and Throbb working together, but we're not worried about you facing those cannibals. We're worried what will happen if we run into some of those owls who want to kill Shade's Clan. If any of you get spotted with any of use, they could kill you." exclaimed Eclipse.

Gylfie was worried about her female Starwing friend and the injuries she had suffered not too long ago.

"What about your wing, Aurora? It's still not fully healed. You can't fly with an injured with. You'd be in more danger out there alone than if we were with you." worriedly insisted Gylfie.

Aurora stretched out both her wings and flapped them a few time. Her wings seemed just as they were before they were injured, but scars now covered Aurora's wing where she had been attacked by the giant cannibal bats.

"My wing is healed enough for me to fly on my own Gylfie. Those cannibals just ripped the skin. I'll be fine. Dusk is going out to look for food and his wing is in worse shape than mine. Don't worry Gylfie. I'll have my brother as well as Shade and Marina. I couldn't be safer." replied Aurora.

Dusk was just finishing off telling Soren what to do encase they didn't come back.

"If we not back my sunrise, come look for us. Eclipse doesn't want anything to be to suspicious. All of the owls' allies know to be looking for a group of five bats and four owls traveling together. If only we go out looking for food, then it will be less likely we'll be seen by the enemy." explained Dusk.

Soren nodded in understanding.

"I'll make sure everyone stays hidden. We'll come and find you if Goth and Throbb show up again." told Soren.

The three Starwing siblings, Shade, and Marina flew off into the night air. Digger watched as his bat friends left.

"I hope they make it back okay. Something tells me they're going to get into trouble. Glaux, Juna, Nocturna, or whoever is out there, please look after my friends. And have them safely return to us." silently asked Digger.

The five bats stayed close as they looked for food. When they heard the rattle of Goth and Throbb's extra bands they stopped. There was no sign of either of the cannibalistic bats. That's when they all looked up.

There above them were the bands Goth and Throbb had placed on their wings. Without the extra bands Goth and Throbb were silent flyers. They could have been everywhere. The five bats quickly flew away, nearly being caught by a passing owl.

They realised they had to be a lot more cautious. An owl had nearly spotted them and Goth and Throbb were silent once more. Things just became a lot harder.

After a few more hours of flying, the five bats came upon an area that humans seemed to just dump and leave things scattered about. Shade could see bugs flying around one of the human's artificial suns they used to eliminate the night. He wanted to go get some of the bugs to eat, but Marina and Aurora cautioned against it. Shade told Marina and Aurora they could hide among some of the human things. He also said there could have been rats or something, to try and convince Eclipse and Dusk to go along with what he wanted to do.

"I think we should go. The Band needs food and insects won't satisfy them. They need a mouse or a rat. And I wouldn't mind getting some of that myself." agreed Eclipse.

It was decided. They would all go to the human thing dumping site and look for food. All was going well, that is until the five bats ran into Goth and Throbb.

Goth and Throbb cornered the five young bats. The cannibals had a look in their eyes that told the Starwings, Shade, and Marina what they were going to do. Goth and Throbb planned on eating them and getting rid of them once and for all.

Luckily Shade, Marina, Dusk, and his siblings were much smaller and faster than the giant cannibals. They were able to dodge most of the attacks and slip into a grate. They all thought they were safe, until the rats came.

An army of rats came out of nowhere and captured the five bats. They all felt humiliated, but none more than Eclipse.

"Captured by prey. What's next, the sun disappearing from the sky? I've never been more humiliated in all my life. Prince Eclipse future chief of the Black Aura Clan captured by rats. The other warriors would be laughing at me if they were here." complained Eclipse.

A rat hit Eclipse in the back of the head with his tail.

"Quiet you. King Romulus and King Remus will know how to deal with you." manically chuckled the rat.

Eclipse wanted to lash out but his common sense (something he rarely used) told him it would be a bad idea. It was a good thing Eclipse did remain calm because he and the others were brought before two large, fat, dark furred rats. All of the bats thought that these rats had to be the ones called King Romulus and King Remus.

They began to prepare themselves for what was about to happen next. The five of them had faced cannibal bats, escaped from owls, and befriended a bear, how hard would it be to handle some rats?

Sorry about the extremely late update. I'm done with my other fanfics so I can focus on this one more for the time being. I'll definitely make the next chapters come a lot faster than they have been coming. Comment if you like the story.
