W1n6s-of-F13: You will just have to wait and see what her third form is, but you're close.
Saiai2: I won't usually update this fast, but I've got the time at the moment so I'm trying to get this work done. And yeah, Lucy will destroy the auction houses, she won't stand for the vileness of it, and for Erza. And you will see what the third form is.
Chapter 29: New and Old
Lucy felt at peace as she meditated on her bed in the Galley La space her crew and she had been using as their hotel in a way since they got back from Enies Lobby two days ago. She had already read the paper and shook her head. She expected the government to say it was she who had destroyed the island all by herself. Of course the declaring war part was true, not that she really cared. Her nakama were safe and around her. She couldn't ask for more at the moment.
"Lucy, Franky is here, and so is Iceberg," Nami called teasingly at the end. Usopp and Nami had been teasing her since the boat ride after Merry's funeral. Iceberg had referred to her as his future wife, and it had been said much the same as he had the day they first met. Loke and Sanji had raged for the man's forwardness, Zoro had not cared, Robin and Chopper had just watched, and Wendy looked flustered.
"You've got to lose such a lecherous face Nami before Paulie gets here as well," Lucy said teasingly back to Nami. For some reason the people in town seemed to think that Paulie and Nami were getting married, or that they were destined to be. Most of them had found great amusement in this. Lucy especially for her retaliation, since Nami would, as she was now, get really angry.
Lucy got off the bed and turned and faced their 'guests'. Both men were grinning and Lucy knew something exciting was going to happen. "The wood arrived, Lucy, I'll start tomorrow. But," Franky said and everyone looked at him confusedly, while Lucy was quite excited. She still hadn't told them about the ship Franky was going to make them. His dream ship. Nor did Franky realized that she had decided to make him her shipwright. After all, they were all pathetic at taking care of a ship, if he didn't want anything to happen to the ship he would have to come along.
"But, Galley La, the Franky Family, and all of Water 7 has decided that they wanted to throw a party for all of you, it's being prepared at the pool outback right now, join in whenever you please," Iceberg invited courteously and rubbed the mouse's head that was in his shirt pocket.
"A Pool Party?! This is wonderful!" Nami yelled and ran off after grabbing something from her luggage, most likely her bikini, and went to the bathroom to change. Robin and Wendy also followed after as Sanji began preparing to make food for everyone. The others also began to change and soon left along with Franky and Iceberg. Lucy was the last one to leave, changing into her blue bikini with gold stars. She also wrapped her lower half that exposed one legs. She slipped her feet into the sandals at the door and walked out.
She made her way down to the party. Sodom and Gomorrah, the Giants, Galley La, the Franky Family and so many more were there. Chiminey and Gombei were playing with Wendy in the pool already, Cocoro swimming in her mermaid form and jumping through the air around them. Zoro had already broken into the booze with Lulu and Tylestone, the two shipwrights from Galley La that had come to Enies Lobby as well. Sanji was cooking, Chopper was sliding down the two King Bulls' backs, Usopp was singing his praises, Robin was relaxing with a drink next to Nami, and Loke was surrounded by women, as usual.
Everything was as it should be, and it was perfect. She walked down the step and sat down at a table on a platform, Iceberg motioning her over. Franky was besides the table, dancing with his two 'little sisters', Kiwi and Mozu. She watched on with a smile when a pint of something strong was placed in front of her. Oh great, another night of fighting with herself not to overdrink.
The party continued to grow as the night went on. Most of Water 7 showing up and thanking her as they arrived. Everyone with food as gifts for Sanji to cook, and then going off to enjoy the great atmosphere. Lucy's keys had also begun to glow during the party and she released her spirits who wanted to come out. Cetus had come out to greet Sodom and Gomorrah, the two King Bulls very excited to see Cetus and began to dance around Cetus, making her spirit laugh merrily.
Leo Minor had also come out to be with his brothers, Loke ditching some of the girls to play with his little brother in the pool, finally showing everyone that his mark was on his back.
Aquarius and Scorpio had come out and swiftly vanished to go on a date in the empty City of Water. It was a perfect place for Aquarius, and Lucy had smiled as the two walked off. Thankful Scorpio had been there so Aquarius wouldn't go on a rampage.
Draco was resting on her shoulder as she fed him the meat Sanji had cooked, making the dragon unsure of how to feel about her cook. He was a pervert, but his food was amazing. Lucy had laughed at the conflict and told him to just eat and enjoy himself. Which got her a tail to the face for her comment.
After that she had spent most of the night dancing. She danced with Nami and Robin in a group, and one on one with Wendy. She danced with Loke and Leo Minor, making the little lion laugh as he was passed between the two. Zoro had declined and Usopp was too busy singing. Or trying to compete with Lyra, who had also come out, and was winning over everyone with her amazing abilities to sing. She would sing while others would play. And she had danced with Franky, who was more going solo, and then Mozu and Kiwi would break in.
Finally she had collapsed back into her seat, Draco in the one next to her, and Iceberg was sipping at his wine first. It was a good night so far, everything was going perfect. She took a sip of her drink when she felt someone tap on her shoulder. She opened her eyes and saw Iceberg holding out a hand for her. She smiled and got up, about to put her hand in his, when something went through her.
Her nose took in smell after smell, singling something out. Something familiar and comforting and safe. Or at least, that's how she felt when she smelt it. "Excuse me, Iceberg. I've got to go check something out. When I come back I'll take you up on that dance though," Lucy said and got up, Draco hopping up onto her shoulder as she went. She followed her nose farther away from the party and wound up at the coast.
Two marine ships were there. One smelt like smoke, and the other was the comforting one. And she knew why. The first was Smoker's ship, which she hadn't noticed because she was so focused on the person on the second ship. The second ship belonged to her grandpa, Vice-Admiral Garp. He had come, he had gotten her message. She smiled to herself and jumped from where she was to the ship with more people on it.
"Eh…Eh?!" The marines shouted as she appeared, grabbling with their guns as they worked past their shock and tried to prepare for battle. She paid them no mind though. Where was her grandpa? She turned around and did not meet her grandfather, but someone else she knew. Smoker. He was right in front of her.
"Smoker, what are you doing here?" Lucy asked as she smiled at one of her favorite marines, third only to her grandfather and Coby. Smoker narrowed his eyes and came closer to her, and then lowered his eyes to her shoulder. Oh, Draco. "Ah, tou-chan, this is Smoker. And Smoker, this is my tou-chan." Lucy introduced and she got another tail to the face for that.
"I told you not to call me that in front of others, you brat," Draco yelled and disappeared in a golden light while Lucy was still rubbing her face. She looked up to Smoker, whose only indication of shock was his blown open eyes. But he did nothing else to convey it.
"So…you weren't lying," Smoker said and made an annoyed sound in the back of his throat. He wasn't actually annoyed though. She could tell, he was intrigued and relieved about something. He was about to open his mouth to ask the obvious question that he would have. But someone attacked her first. Or attempted to. They came at her, but Lucy swung around and kicked the person in the stomach, sending them into the mast of the ship. And another attacked from above with sword like…things. She dodged and kicked him as well into the mast.
The two lumps got off of each other and Lucy's eyes widened at who she came face to face with. "Coby," Lucy said at a loss for words. The boy was no longer round and short, but lean and getting taller. But he still wasn't taller than her though.
"Lucy-san!" Coby yelled as he got up and ran to her, stopping before her like an excited puppy. It made her giggle a bit. "I failed this time, but next time I'll definitely capture you!"
"Oh….really? I'm only going to get stronger from here, Coby. How strong are you going to become in order to beat me?" Lucy asked, curious as to how the young marine would respond. After all, she had saved him and had sent him on this path. Had he committed himself?
"To capture you, the future Pirate Queen, Lucy-san, I'll…I'll become an admiral of the marines!" Coby shouted and looked to be smiling, and she nodded her head. So that's how committed he was. But in true style of himself the poor boy fell back and began to blush and stutter. "Ah, I just said that out loud…and I'm sorry! I mean it just…I," Coby couldn't say anything else, so Lucy walked over to the young man and crouched in front of him.
"Good, Coby, now you're getting just how strong you'll need to be one day. Work hard at it, but then again, with Garp teaching you I know you'll get the training necessary to become a strong marine," Lucy said, thinking about all the training he had put her through to forge her into a strong marine. Of course she never used any of it to become a strong marine.
"Heartfilia…what are you doing here?" Smoker asked and she turned back to face the marine who had an annoyed look on his face and was glaring at Coby hatefully. She raised her eyebrow at thing. She smelt him and found jealousy. Smoker was jealous…of what or who? Well it wasn't really her business anyway. She had to get back to business.
"I'm looking for my grandpa, he's came here for me after all, and my nose led me to his scent which is here," Lucy responded, already wondering what their responses to who her grandpa was would be like. It would no doubt prove to be interesting.
"Lucy!" Her grandpa's voice called out and a wall broke down behind Smoker, and she was tackled around the waist. A crying Garp on her waist. All of the marines around her were shocked. "How dare you run away from me and your home when you were seven! And how dare you become a pirate behind my back! And how dare you come back…and not see your grandpa first!"
Lucy placed her hands on her grandpa's shoulders, who immediately got up and began to hug her. Lifting her off the ground and crushing her to him. "Grandpa, if you really don't stop now I really will die," Lucy said and he released her, allowing her to breathe. "I'm glad Aokiji was able to deliver my message to you, Grandpa."
His fist came out of nowhere and hit her over the head. It was ever worse than how she remembered it. "Monkey D. Lucy! I cannot believe you would do this to your own grandpa, I thought you were dead since you were seven, and a little bit over a week ago you send me a letter attached to Aokiji to tell me that you're alive and just using your mother's last name. You should've come see me yourself, idiot."
"God, that still hurts! Don't hit me after not seeing each other for over ten years, grandpa!" Lucy told him and she was hit again.
"Lucy! Don't give me orders, and that's not how you should be talking to me!" Garp yelled and continued to hit her. "This influence is all Red Hair's," Garp muttered in a cursing manner, as he had done since the day Lucy had told him of Shanks and her ambition to become the Pirate Queen. Since that day her grandpa had hated the man who saved her life. Spoken nothing but ill of him. Something's would never change.
"Shanks is my hero, grandpa! He saved my life, so don't speak ill of him," Lucy tried to reason, though she knew he wouldn't listen, he never had.
"He's the reason you became a pirate! When you were little I trained you! I threw you down deep ravines, left you to survive in the jungle at night, and tied you to balloons and sent you flying, all for the sake of you becoming a strong MARINE one day. Not some pirate!" Garp yelled at her and hit her again, and she clutched her head in pain.
"And I always told you I wanted to be a pirate! Not a marine," Lucy yelled back, they were right in each other's faces now, screaming and cursing at each other. This was not how she had pictured their reunion, not at all. But this was her grandpa, she should've known better than to think he wouldn't hit her more than once. She finally turned away from her grandpa and found the entire fleet he had brought with him were all gaping at everything that had gone down.
"Ah…I forgot you were all there. Well no use in denying it, my granddaughter is this one here, Monkey D. Lucy is her other last name. Isn't she impressive? But let me make it very clear, all of you," Garp began to crack his knuckles as he stood in front of her, glaring at all the marines around them. And in response to the look they were given, all took a step back. "Only I'm allowed to decide who Lucy will marry one day. If any of you no good weaklings try anything on my precious granddaughter without my permission or while I'm not looking…I'll kill you."
An audible gulp went around the camp and Lucy sighed. Of course, she had two overprotective older brothers and an overprotective and controlling grandpa. "You can't choose who I marry, grandpa. I'll decide that for myself, as dragon nature dictates."
"No! You have to marry someone I approve of, what if he's weak and a horrible person?" Garp yelled and was once in her face, wagging his finger at her. She pushed it away and glared at him.
"My instincts wouldn't accept that person as a potential mate then," Lucy responded and pulled a hand through her hair, needing to do something with her hands or this would kill her.
"I still say I have to pick the people you can choose from," Garp responded and she threw her hands up in the air and looked skyward. Looking for some way to get him to understand. But the selfishness ran a bit through the family line, she could tell that. She pinched the bridge of her nose and responded that she couldn't marry a marine because she was a pirate. He seemed to deflate at that and went over to a corner of the ship and began muttering to himself about how selfish she was.
"Anyway, there's a party going on at a pool that I'm supposed to be at, so I should return before my crew comes looking for me," Lucy said when a fist stopped her. She looked up and saw her grandpa crying and she too began to as well, but not allowing it to develop past a mist. She finally got what she wanted. She leapt into her grandpa's arms and wrapped her limbs around him, his strong, trunk like arm coming around her as well. "I missed you so much, grandpa. And I'm so sorry for the pain I cost you when I left. I love you so much, just like Ace and Sabo."
"You stupid granddaughter of mine, why couldn't you just do as you're told for once and join the marines like I told you too?" Garp asked as he pulled back and looked at her.
"Because I wouldn't be as happy as I am now as a pirate. And I've set myself down this path, and there is no turning back. Especially after what I've done now…the government will hunt me till I'm dead. And they'd try even more if they learned who else I'm related too," Lucy made the last comment under her breath, just for Garp to hear. He nodded his head in agreement and released her.
"I love you too, stupid granddaughter," Garp replied and pulled back. "I won't be arresting you today. You're my granddaughter after all and we just had a heartfelt reunion. I'll just make up some excuse to tell Sengoku."
"We're having a party at a pool right now, do you guys want to come?" Lucy asked and began walking towards the ship's plank to walk down. Coby and her grandpa walked besides her, and Smoker walked behind them till they reached the party. Still in full swing. Lucy grabbed Smoker's coat right before they walked in and he looked at her confusedly. "To make sure you don't get lost in this crowd." She pulled him through the crowd towards where she used to be sitting. Iceberg was still there and was talking to Cocoro as he drank.
Iceberg's eyes widened as he saw them, but she quickly called out that it was alright and they were with her. He relaxed and got up, getting her chair for her as she sat down before returning to her own. She thanked him as he poured her more wine. "Sanji! We need three orders over here!" Lucy called and Sanji came over twirling with three platters of meat on them. Her grandfather immediately dug in, and stole the food from the other twos' plates before they could try any.
For the next hour Lucy and her Grandpa talked, Coby and Iceberg breaking in at times. Smoker rarely spoke unless asked something directly.
Finally the tempo of the party shifted to something familiar and Lucy gasped as she recognized the song. Loke had gotten up on stage and was singing one of her favorite songs to a group of women in front of him. Iceberg once more asked her to dance and she took his hand as he led her onto the lower part of the pool in the center. People made way as they came. Dances stopping as they took their place at the center of the floor. He bowed to her and held out his hand to her, which she took and he used to spin her into him.
Can't Take My Eyes Off You
Smoker gritted his teeth as Heartfilia danced. She was laughing and smiling with that Mayor of this town. He had bit right through his cigars because of his anger, the two stubs in his mouth hitting his tongue making his need to spit them out. God this woman was insufferable. He still had these feelings for her, after all this time of barely seeing her.
And now he was jealous of this suave and gentlemanly mayor who had been able to do what he pleased and asked her to dance. A dance she was obviously enjoying from the way she seemed to shine with happiness. It was sappy and pathetic, but a part of his craved to be the one dancing with her. The one who was holding her close.
But he couldn't dance, not as the other man was with her. They were both graceful and trained, and he would just step on her feet. So he was the man left of the side, gritting his teeth as he waited for it to be over. For her and Iceberg to stop their dance, the one that had entranced everyone, and return to the table and sit.
Where just like now, he wouldn't be able to take his eyes off her. She was too brilliant to be able to. And with how relaxed she was, completely at ease and happy that she had met her grandfather and her crew was all safe, she looked even more beautiful than usual in his eyes.
And that was the kicker, Garp the Fist or Garp the Hero, was her grandfather. He had also raised her to be a marine, and she had chosen the life of a pirate. She had run away at a young age it seemed, and taken her mother's name and hid her return from the most worshipped marine of them all. The man who had taught him for a while before he became a captain. The man who was fiercely protective of his granddaughter to the point of threatening his men, something most knew he would never do unless they had betrayed him in some way. Garp saw the fraternization with his granddaughter as betrayal.
Smoker shook his head and mistakenly looked back to Lucy and her dance partner. Iceberg had dipped her low to the ground and looked as if he was about to kiss her, and Smoker saw red to the point that he went a bit out of his mind. He stomped up to the edge of their dance, and watched as Iceberg backed off, not kissing her and bringing her back up as they finished the dance.
Everyone went crazy, and the two bowed to each other once more. And then Iceberg took her hand and kissed the knuckles there, making everyone go even crazier. Lucy even bushed to top it off.
So…she did like the gentlemanly type. He really stood no chance.
Lucy backed away and Smoker, she smiled at him and he grunted, about to turn away as a new song started, when she caught his hand and smiled at him. "Dance with me?" She asked and took his arm, and before he could tell her he couldn't dance, she had already brought his back to the packed dance floor. People had gone back to it after Iceberg and she had finished.
Lucy extended her form and waited for him. "I can't dance, Heartfilia," he said and was about to walk away, when she once more stopped him. A small smile on her face.
"I'll teach you then," Lucy said and took his hand. He brought one to the middle of her back, and the other in her hand. And she placed her other hand on his shoulder. "You start with your left, and take one step forward." He did as he was told, and she took a step back to match him. She continued her quiet instruction through the song. He had stepped on her foot at one point and was stupidly looking down at his feet so he didn't do it again. "Look at me," she said and took his chin and forced him to look up.
"You're good at this," Smoker commented, and she smirked a bit sadly.
"Life after running away was good and bad. I was raised in a wealthy family, and I was taught to dance for most of my life," Lucy explained he nodded his head as he took in the information. So she came from wealth on her mother's side. That would most likely explain her taste for gentleman.
"So do you like gentleman because of that background?" Smoker asked before he could stop the question before it could come out. He cursed his traitorous mouth and she laughed a bit. A small giggle. It was…cute.
"I don't mind them, but only if they're true gentleman and not perverts in disguise. Which is rare. But I don't really care for gentleman either. They're…boring. Iceberg is nice and he's a good man, and I do think his chivalrous ideas have merit since it's so rare to find a man willing to hold open the door for me, pull my chair out, and ask for permission to kiss me before he did. But…it lacks passion, not romance, but passion. Something that as an avid reader and author, I crave from someone I have interest in," Lucy explained and he thought back to her.
"You write?"
"Oh yes, if I had never become a pirate…if I had remained without regaining my memories of all the people I knew at a young age, I would've been an author. I still write now. What about you Smoker, if you hadn't been a marine, who would you have become?" Lucy asked and he wondered.
"A cigar roller," he said, not really thinking about it. Everything went silent after that and the song was coming to a close. She hummed to the music as it came to its end, and he forgot to release her. Too lost in his thoughts to notice. What made him notice is when she wrapped her arms around his neck, and his around her waist. She was resting her head on his chest as she yawned. It was approaching dawn and she was tired. He just went with it, not truly wanting to let her go, but not being able to say it because of what he was. And he was already torn between his feelings and his work.
Smoker looked around as he could now and gulped when he looked at Garp, oh god he was going to be murdered. Coby, the little sergeant major, was trying to soothe the man, but kept on getting hit. He knew he had to enjoy this while it lasted, for right now they weren't enemies though.
"Heartfilia," Smoker called to her as her eyed drooped closed. She was falling asleep where she stood. She shook her head and pulled back though, her eyes sleepy and she seemed a bit dead. "Why did you save Nico Robin?"
"Because she's my nakama, and you never abandon nakama. They're precious and you do anything to protect them, from anything. No matter the size of the threat, even if it's the world. And…I would break. I've lost so much already…to lose another person in my life, I wouldn't be able to go on. I would become lonely, and being along is worse than being dead. Which is why I can put my life on the line for them," Lucy explained and placed her head on his chest again, tucking her head under his chin a bit.
Smoker looked down at her, and thought about it. So that was her weakness, loneliness. She had lost a lot and didn't want to lose anymore, and would do anything to make sure she didn't. Her love for her nakama, her desire to be with them, was enough to make her challenge the world without hesitation or regret.
He heard her breathing even out and looked down when she stopped moving. She had fallen asleep in his arms. It made his smiled as he looked down at her face, so peaceful and relaxed. He slowly moved her, picking her up into his arms and walking off the dance floor. He didn't realize how long they had been dancing. Most everyone was already asleep, besides Garp, who glared at him, but didn't stop him.
"Smoker-kun," Nico Robin called out to him as he walked around, wondering where he should put her. The woman came and directed him to where he could put Lucy, in her bunk at the Galley La Company House.
He left after that, not allowing himself anymore time. This night had already done too much damage. His feelings strengthened, and now Garp was going to kill him. What this woman did to his life.
The next morning her grandpa and the others took off. It was a tear filled goodbye, and even Coby cried. But before he left and boarded the ship he told her something. "Lucy-san, the second half of this sea is more vicious and dangerous than this one. It's where you'll find Shanks, a Yonko, and one of the fiercest at that. It's a place where pirates fight for territory and dominance, and where you'll find the actual fight for the title of Pirate King or Queen. It's called the New World, and is the greatest sea of them all, the one the Pirate King ruled. I'll finally arrest you there!"
"Try it, Coby," Lucy answered in return, making Coby smile and nod his head in agreement. They promised to meet again and fight.
Lucy noticed that Smoker also wasn't looking at her, and assumed it had something to do with the fact that her grandpa was glaring at him now. Probably for dancing with her without his permission. She shook her head at his stubbornness.
The marines set sail, Coby waving as they sailed off.
She too returned to her place, back to her crew.
When she got there she was told that the log was close to setting and they were all freaking out because they still didn't have a ship. To which Lucy finally told them. "Franky is making a ship for us from Adam's Wood, the strongest wood in the world. It's what his master, Tom, used to make the Pirate King's ship," Lucy told them and they all began to cheer at getting a new ship. "Also, Franky doesn't know it, but I want him as our shipwright. It makes sense since he's the one making the ship.
"So, can we go see it?" They all asked excitedly, wanting to see the ship already.
"Nope, Franky told me that he didn't want any of the crew to see till he was done. Iceberg is helping him and so are Lulu, Tylestone, and Paulie," Lucy told them and they nodded.
"I'm happy that we're getting a new nakama," Wendy said excitedly. They all began to talk excitedly about Franky joining and wondering what kind of ship they'll get. What it will look like, and potential names.
Two days later, and Mozu and Kiwi burst through the door of the house they were in with Chiminey and Gombei besides them. They were panting, but also seemed really excited. "They finished! They finished the ship! You can come and claim your ship now." The crew went crazy as they began to pack up their things.
When they were done, everyone with a pack on their back, they began to leave the house. The rest of the Franky Family came running towards them though, seemingly panicked. About what she didn't know, but it had to be something important…or incredibly stupid. "Princess!" They all cried out, like they had been calling her since they met her. "You and your crew…it's amazing. You've all got bounties now! Look!"
He spread them all out of the ground and Lucy's eyes widened. Three hundred and thirty million for herself. She had gone up by two hundred million. Now that was a bounty worthy of someone named the Dragon Princess.
Zoro had also gone up, doubling his last one to get him a total of one hundred and twenty million. He had broken past the hundred million mark.
Robin had gone up by one million, to a total of eighty million.
The others now had their first. She was going to need to frame some of these. Sanji's especially.
'The Cat Burglar' Nami: Sixteen Million Belli.
'Sogeking' Usopp: Thirty million.
'Cotton Candy Lover' Chopper (pet): fifty.
'Wild Wind' Wendy: Ten million.
'The Lion' Loke: Fifty Million Belli.
'Black Leg' Sanji (unable to get a photograph): Seventy seven million.
Sanji's was definitely being framed. She was so doing it.
She looked at their faces and winced at a few. Loke, Robin, Zoro, and she were the only ones who seemed happy about this. Sanji was distraught with how his looked, Chopper was upset with how low his bounty was, Wendy and Nami didn't want to be wanted, and Usopp had passed out.
"I know you all probably have a lot to say, but I wanted to ask you something first. Please look at this," Zambai asked and showed them another bounty. It was for 'Cyborg' Franky: Forty four million. "Aniki is a wanted man now, and we won't be able to save him again. So please…take him out to sea with you. Even if it's against his own will!"
They all bowed their head to the ground, begging her to take the man that had saved them, and save him. She smiled at this. "Of course I'll take him. I wanted him as my shipwright anyway. Who knows the ship better than him?"
"Thank you!" They all cried out and got up. "Well, we've got to go do some things." They all left and Lucy and the others went to the ship that was now theirs, thinking they would find Lucy there.
They were led to the island only to discover that Franky wasn't there. But the ship was, and it was covered by a large sheet, just waiting to be unveiled for them to see. Iceberg was the one to take off the sheet since he was the only one there. 'This ship is amazing," Iceberg explained and smiled as he looked over his shoulder at them, grasping the sheet. "My eyes were shocked when I saw the amazing blueprints; it's one that can sail over any sea. With this ship sailing to the end of the world won't be a dream. That was a message from Franky, Lucy. If you're going to become the Pirate Queen someday, you have to ride this King of Beasts!"
He unveiled the ship with those words and Lucy was blown away by what she saw. It was just as amazing as the blueprints made it out to be. Thought the figurehead wasn't as fierce as the one on the prints. It was like a sunny lion now. But that was fine, it was cuter this way. Loke seemed to like it.
This ship was twice the size of Merry, with a circular side piece with a '1' on it. There was mast and their mark had already been made, and their flag flying even now. She couldn't wait to look at it all in real life now. Not just on paper.
"It's wonderful!" Lucy shouted and the rest of the crew began to cheer as well.
"Is this really for us?" Wendy asked as she stared up at the large ship before them, as in awe as the rest of them.
"It has a lion on the front!" Loke shouted, even though it wasn't the best lion. He like the representation. Lucy had enough and jumped up onto the deck, soon followed by everyone else. There was a lawn on the ship, and trees on deck with a swing. It was all so large, more than enough room for her to meditate and work out.
They were all very excited, especially Sanji when he found the kitchen, and Chopper and Wendy when they found the infirmary. There was also a large bath at the back of the ship with a round tub, and a library and drawing room. There was an aquarium room where they could keep live fish for food and to eat every once in a while.
When Lucy was done exploring for the moment she went to the edge of the ship to talk to Iceberg. "Hey, Iceberg, where's Franky? I want to thank you, and if we're to be setting out today, now that he log is set and Cocoro-san has given us the information we need, he needs to get here soon to leave. After all, he is my shipwright now," Lucy stated and looked around, lifting her nose and scenting the air.
"He didn't want to see you. Because he feels chained to this island, and wants to go with you at the same time. If he were here, he wouldn't be able to stay. He loves that ship that he's given to you. And he really likes all of you too. Listen, Lucy, he's stubborn and deny it with all his heart, so you'll most likely have to use force to get him on the ship," Iceberg said the them all and Lucy nodded her head.
Sanji, Loke, Zoro, and Chopper all came forward. "We'll get him, Lucy," they said and took off, following Chopper who would lead them to where he was. Though Lucy could already here The Franky Family leading him their way.
Lucy didn't have to wait long before her they were back, and they placed in her hands something she didn't know how to feel about. His speedo. And then he fell from the sky, ass up in the air, lower half exposed. She was used to it because she just thought about Gray and onsen incidents, but then she covered Wendy's eyes.
"Franky!" Lucy called as he got up and he turned to them. Her hand held the speedo as she got up on the railing and laid back, reclining on the curve of the railing. Her hand twirled the speedo n her hands, and she tried not to look south. "If you want these back, you're going to have to get on my ship and become one of my crew, Franky."
"You think that would be enough to make me join?" Franky asked and began posing, not caring at all that he was without pants.
"No, but I wanted to thank you as well. This is the most…amazing ship I've ever seen. It's mine now too, and I want to look after her. And I know only one person for that job, Franky," Lucy said and smiled at him.
"Of course it's a super ship, it's the answer to all your request! Did you see the Soldier Dock System I invented?" Franky asked, his arms stretched out wide as he smiled, so proud of this ship. So in love with it.
"No, I haven't. But it sounds wonderful. So please, come with us, out to sea, and show us how this ships full potential," Lucy asked and stared deep into his eyes.
"I already told you I can't," Franky said and Robin stepped forward.
"If you don't mind I can give you a hand," she said and Lucy agreed to it, and Robin had two hands grow from his lower region, and she watched as Robin had the two hands grab. And that's when the screaming began. Lucy's face dropped as he screamed in pure agony. She couldn't believe it. Robin had actually done that.
Franky began to talk about how he gave up being a shipwright, and how the ship he gave them was the last one. It was his way of catching up to his master. And that his only wish was to build this ship, and for it to reach the ends of the sea. Iceberg stopped him and began to talk, saying how they all forgave Franky, and he finally had to forgive himself. That his dream as a child was to sail with that ship and take care of it. Franky tried to deny it when a large bag fell from the sky.
A duffel bag for Franky from the Franky Family. Franky was mad at them for doing it. But they did it because they wanted him to be happy, for Franky to go out to sea, just like he wanted. They had never seen him happier than when he was on that ship. So they knew they had to let go of Franky, and let him be free. They had to take care of themselves, but they would hate it if they were burdening him. So they urged him to go and be happy, like they knew he would.
Franky was crying at this point, blaming Robin for it, though Robin had already let go of him. He was happy at how they cared for him, happy that he was loved. Sad to want to leave. And didn't know what to do. The family swore they would always be followers and knew he would come back alive to see them one day.
"LUCY!" Zoro, Sanji, and Loke cried out as they finally returned, panicked and a little scared. "We have to go now! Your crazy grandfather is back, and he's here to arrest us all!"
"What? He said he wouldn't though!" Lucy shouted, not sure of what to do. Franky had to get on right now.
They ran past Franky and looked at him strangely. "Franky, you still aren't wearing your speedo?"
Lucy laughed at this and called out to the bare man, throwing him his speedo which he caught. "Get on, Franky. On to my ship. It's time we all left," Lucy said as the man got his speedo back on, and then grabbed his stuff. He readjusted his sunglasses and smirked up at them.
"I guess I've got no choice then. I guess I'll be you shipwright since you're all such amateurs that if I left it to you, this wonderful ship would suffer," Franky said, and he finally got on her ship. "I will be your shipwright, me the SUPER Franky!"
"Ah, we have a new nakama!" Wendy called out from where Lucy had put her inside, finally letting Wendy out. They were all on the ship now. And Lucy called out Virgo who brought the stamper her. Everyone showing off their locations, and Franky choosing his. His left pectoral, the same color as his hair. She smiled at this and thanked Virgo as she took it back with her to the Spirit World.
"Lucy," Iceberg called out and everyone looked to him. He threw her a box that was wrapped in a gold ribbon. She undid it and found an Eternal Log Pose for Water 7. "In case you ever take me up on my offer." She thanked him and jumped down from the ship, kissing him on his cheek before she went back. Nami and Usopp teasing her when she did. "Franky…take care of yourself."
"Ah, of course I will, Bakaberg," Franky said and crossed his arms over his chest.
"Bakanky," Iceberg replied.
"Set sail!" Lucy called out after this, seeing her grandpa's ship in sight. They all ran around as they did as they knew to, the ship taking off as the first cannonball came towards Sunny, rocking the water and Sunny. "Grandpa!" Lucy called out as he looked back at her grandpa who was standing on the figurehead of his ship, his suit coat thrown off as he prepared to throw more cannonballs at them. "I thought you said you weren't going to capture us!"
"Ah, well I told that to Sengoku, and he got mad. So he ordered me to come back and take you all down. Sorry, Lucy," her Grandpa said with a grin on his face. She gaped at him, he had told Sengoku about that. Oh god! She wondered for a moment if Sengoku knew who her father was. Her biological one. She then wondered about Ace…but that would've been publicized by now.
"We need to name this ship now. That Bakaberg came up with a name that you all may like. For its sun like figurehead and for how many suns it will see and greet. The Thousand Sunny," Franky said and Lucy placed her hand on the railing. She liked it, and so did everyone else.
"Then now this ship will be named The Thousand Sunny," Lucy announced as she punched a cannonball away.
"Alright, then let's get away from here!" Franky called. "Sunny's got a little surprise for scenarios like this. But first we need to furl the sails." They all looked at him strangely, but she trusted him, so she ordered everyone to do as he said while he went below deck. When they were done he said it would take a moment. But they didn't have a moment. Her grandpa had gotten his hands of a cannonball so large it was larger than his own ship.
Franky called that that they were ready to escape, and Lucy smiled and waved her arms above her head. "Sorry grandpa! But we've got to go! I love you! Bye!"
"I love you too, Lucy, but you're not going to be able to get away from this!" Garp yelled and threw the cannonball into the air and it was coming down towards them when Lucy felt something change about the air in the ship. Wendy did too.
Franky finally called it. Just as they were about to be crushed, he yelled out. "Coup de Burst!" And the ship took off into the sky, flying above and away from the cannonball. She tried not to think too hard about it, and just looked down as they sailed over the sea, and then slowly came back down. Franky came back up and explained that that was one of the few things Sunny could do. "Isn't Sunny amazing?" He asked with a smile on his face.
Chopper and Wendy pounced on him, agreeing completely. "I've got a few more things to show some people," Franky said and began showing them their rooms and every other little thing about the ships. He wouldn't explain the dock system though, not until it was time. "And finally, the captain's quarters."
Franky showed her to a room at the back of the ship, attached to the deck that wrapped around the side, giving her a nice view. She hadn't had her own quarters in her last ship so she was surprised when she walked in. There was a large king sized bed, with white sheets and a golden sheets, and trunk at the base of the bed. She had a connection to her own washroom and closet. It was wonderful. She too hugged Franky.
After they all settled in she went to the aquarium room, and set up all the bounties there she stared at them all and smiled. She also set up Ace's, Sabo's, and Shank's bounties next to theirs. The party on deck was about to start so she left after staring at those three for a minute.
"Alright, is everyone ready?" Lucy asked and they all gave their affirmatives. A drink was handed to her as well and she raised it. "To the return of Robin, and to our two newest nakama. Frank and the Pirate Ship Thousand Sunny!"
They all raised their mugs in the air in toast to everything good that had happened. She smiled as they all cheered. They partied till night and then had dinner in the aquarium room, and then Lucy retired to her room. Wendy coming with her to sleep.
God damn that woman! How dare Heartfilia one up him again! He had just made it passed two hundred million and now she was above three hundred million. She was doing whatever the hell she wanted. Destroying Enies Lobby the way she did, she was a rival among rivals. That he knew for sure.
And Killer wasn't taking his competition with Roronoa seriously. His first mate was supposed to be better than hers as well. Why were they not listening! This was important. If he was to become the Pirate King he needed a crew at the top of their game. He was so frustrated he was about to tear his hair out!
He would destroy her. He would make sure of it. He was Eustass 'Captain' Kidd, he could destroy her.
He would win!
Law stared at the bounties and paper, his whole crew and himself had all been shocked when they heard what she had done. Destroying Enies Lobby. It was something no other pirate had ever dared do. And she had done it.
She was insanely powerful to have been able to do that though. Perhaps she would be a good ally in the future for when he went against the man he hated most in this world. She would be very useful in his plan. And it would allow him to get to know her. It was a double win for him.
They were next headed for Merman Island, and on the way, they would have to pass through the Florian Triangle and too Sabaondy for a coating job. If he remembered the other roots correctly she was close as well.
Perhaps he would be able to meet this woman finally. She had haunted him enough with questions plaguing his mind, perhaps for once the world would be merciful and gift him with an answer. Was she worth all the thoughts he had about her?
Mihawk had gone to see Shanks a few days ago, both discussing Lucy and what he thought of her crew. And now this happens. She destroys Enies Lobby to get back Nico Robin, a nakama of hers. No doubt Shanks is celebrating her destruction for the sake of her nakama.
She had gotten some of that from him anyways.
Her swordsman's bounty had doubled as well. He was becoming quite accomplished, and he was glad to know that Lucy had such a youth on her ship. He was rising alright, but the question was now. Would he be able to rise past Mihawk and his sword? That was a question that couldn't be answered at the moment. But it would in the future be answered.
Shanks was celebrating for Lucy. She had done it and he was so proud of her. It brought a tear to his eye, knowing how strong she had become. Knowing that she didn't care about the risks for the sake of her nakama. He had raised glass after glass to her, and now he was just a little drunk.
Yasopp was fully drunk, incredibly excited by one of the bounties. His own son's, Usopp, was a part of Lucy's crew, and was now sailing the Grand Line. They would be united one day soon, once Lucy ushered in the New Era of Pirates of course. That was the day that Lucy and Shanks would be able to spend their days like they used to. He teasing her and she being a brat. Of course now, instead of like the before, he would have to be wary of all men that came near her.
Mihawk had come by a few days prior talking more honestly about what he knew of her crew so far, and of Lucy's abilities. He had talked about her control of water, fire, wind, iron, and poison. How she drew strength from them. He talked about how smart she had become, how beautiful and kind, graceful and gracious. And how cultured she had become. Her deep need to protect her nakama.
A woman any man would kill for.
That had set Shanks and the others on edge.
And then there had been her crew. He had gone more into detail about her first mate, what he saw of their navigator who had, last he's seen, stolen their ship. And then there was the cook he had told them all about. This 'Black Leg' Sanji. He was a pervert who had blatantly hit on Lucy. He was despicable. To talk to their Lucy like a woman. She was still just a girl, despite what Mihawk said!
And then there were the unknowns. The ones that Mihawk hadn't met. All he knew about her crew was that the women on the ship were outnumbered by the men. He knew what men thought, he was one. His poor little Lucy was surrounded by perverts and he couldn't go and save her because she still believed in their promise. Even if he had the hat.
He would respect her wishes, and wait for her as patiently as he could.
"Lucy, hurry to the New World. I want to see you, so badly. And please, don't die for real this time," Shanks whispered to himself as he stared up at the star studded sky. Wishing upon them all for her to be there with him. Them sharing adventures they've gone through since he left her island all those years ago.
He could feel the excitement in him building, waiting for that day.
Dragon couldn't help but feel smug when he looked at what had happened. His daughter had destroyed a government facility. It was wonderful to know that she followed in his footsteps a bit. His father probably wouldn't be happy to hear that though. Lucy didn't even mean to, of course. It was a buster call from the Marines that had caused Enies Lobby to be destroyed, not that the people would know anything of that so long as the government remained.
Most likely Lucy was disgusted with the government as he was, growing up in Fiore, where the government is better and moral. Where lineage does no matter. Where the people have life and choice. Here there was no freedom unless you were a pirate or a revolutionary.
If he could do something for his daughter, it would be to build a better world for her to sail through on her adventures. It made her happy, so he was fine with it.
He could only hope that one day he could talk to her and tell her how proud of her he is, how much he loves her. But that was just a dream. The revolution was his main priority though. People all around the world were suffering, and he would liberate them from this horrible government.
He stared at her bounty with tears of pride in his eyes. She had grown so much since she was just a little child, claiming that she would become the Pirate Queen. Nor was she the same girl who set out on this journey just a few months ago, not likely at least. She was making her mark on the world, everyone now knew her name. How much of a threat she was.
He knew he would have to fight her someday too. She would feel the need to take down all the Yonko, and then he would have to fight his precious little sister. But today wasn't that day. That day was far off.
But after that fight he would be happy to introduce her to all the Whitebeard Pirates. Happy to have his family back together. Ace, Lucy, and he would all share cups of sake again, and would be able to just spend time together like when they were younger.
It would be one of the best days of his life.
"Are you still thinking about Lucy?" Thatch asked him as he sat down next to him, they were on a small island. Taking a break after all the time they had spent trying to find Teach. It had all come up empty handed, but Ace was making progress. He was also answering his Den Den Mushi now.
He remembered getting that call when Lucy's new bounty came out. Ace had been so excited. They had both spent the day talking about their amazing little sister. He knew Ace just wanted to get their work done and meet up with her already.
Sabo did too. But Lucy wasn't safe till they took down Teach. And with this new bounty of hers, she was even more of a likely target for Blackbeard.
Ace looked over the island before him. If his information was correct then Teach was here, and he could end this business and go see Lucy already. She was close to this island already, had just destroyed Enies Lobby. So she would still be close. Which he was excited about being so close to her, but Teach was also close by. Meaning he would try something if he didn't stop the traitor.
So Ace quickly descended on the island, and saw the people trying to evacuate the island. He hurried his steps and made it to the town. He jumped up on rooftops and made his way running to where Teach was. The fat bastard was in the middle of the now ruined town, laughing his head off at what he had done. His crew was with him as well, a sniper, a wrestler, a sick doctor, and a thin man with a cane. None of them had Haki either.
They wouldn't know what hit them. "She's close captain, we can catch up to her and get it over with now," the one with the cane said and Ace narrowed his eyes. Were they talking about Lucy?
"Then let's go and seize this opportunity," Teach yelled and began to walk out of the town.
"Teach, stop right there," Ace finally interjected, and all heads turned to him, alarmed by the fact that he was there. A gun was pointed at him already. Sabo would consider this rude, but he really just wanted to kill the man and get it over with.
"Ah, Commander Ace, how nice to see you! It sure is a surprise though, I thought you'd all still be mourning Thatch," Teach said with a menacing smile on his face. Ace felt his blood begin to boil, his flames licking his back at his words.
"Thatch is alive, but it doesn't excuse what you've done. I'm here to kill you, as is the law of Whitebeard's ship," Ace said and continued to crouch on the rooftop.
"Now, don't be so serious, Ace. I actually have a deal for you. Join my crew, and rule the world with me! It'll be a blast," Teach said excitedly, and a little madly as well. "I already have it all planned out. Right now we're going to go and find Heartfilia Lucy and I'll kill her and hand her over to the government to become a Shichibukai. And then."
Ace cut Teach off. He couldn't stand the words coming out of his mouth, and now he had also threatened his little sister to boot. He had an obvious death wish. One he would be happy to bestow upon the piece of shit before him. "Stop talking right there. First you try to kill Thatch, second you have the balls to ask me to be a part of your crew, and third…you're now trying to kill my little sister."
"Little sister? Heartfilia?" Teach asked, his eyes widening at his words.
"That's right. Heartfilia Lucy is Sabo's and I's little sister. And I won't stand for anyone trying to kill her," Ace said and lit his hand up with fire. The sniper shot him in the forehead, but of course it passed right through his skull. And then the wrestler tried to go for him. But he made a pillar of fire that shot high into the sky. And then he set Blackbeard on fire.
The crew went to their captain, but Blackbeard got up and was panting now from the pain. But the flames were out. He narrowed his eyes at this, and even more so when Teach told his crew to run. He was going to go on a rampage. Immediately they all scattered. Teach got up he began to turn black, and a black tower of something poured from his body.
"Is this your devil fruit power?" Ace asked, thinking about what had been stolen from Thatch when they found his body. No one had known what the devil fruit was at the time.
"Ah, this is what I killed for. Though Thatch is still alive, so I guess I nearly killed for it. I joined Whitebeard's crew because I thought I had a higher chance of finding it then. But the law on Whitebeard's ship is that the one who finds it has to eat it. I knew what I had to do, and I did it. This is the most powerful devil fruit of them all the Yami-Yami no mi, a logia. Shall I give you a demonstration? I think I will," Teach sad and grinned to himself. He then placed one hand down on the ground. The blackness spread far out to the city limits, and then he said two words. "Black Hole."
That which had been touched began to be sucked in. It was crushed and destroyed as it was all pulled in and Ace had to move around to escape it himself. And then all the material was gathered into a black sphere that Teach held above his head. And then the material that had just absorbed was released all at once. Ace burned it all before it could even go through him though. He then attacked Teach with more fire. Except he once again took it in before the flames vanished on his body.
"If you're a logia user, you should've been able to dodge that," Ace commented.
"My logia is different. It's gravity itself, so it sucks everything in. Bullets, flames, sword attacks…everything. And it makes them more powerful. It's a bad part of the fruit, but it can take something else in as well," Teach said with a maniacal look in his eyes. Ace didn't want to hear anymore and tried to punch Teach in the face. He took it, but also grabbed Ace by the shoulder. "Do you get what else I can take in now?" Teach then punched him as well, and Ace went through a brick wall.
Teach could drain someone of their devil fruit power. Ace got up out of the rubble, his hat still on his head. So he couldn't touch him then. Alright. He could still do this. Ace raised his hand above his head and let the fire come out, creating a small sun in the palm of his hand.
Teach began to laugh. "I wanted to know which would win anyway. Light or Darkness." Teach too made a giant ball of darkness above him. Ace had to finish this. For Lucy. To see Lucy again, he had to win.
Their powers collided.
So this was just a catch up chapter with all the other things going on in the world. And we've got the Sunny, and everyone is together and safe. And we had the opinions of everyone all around the world.
Next chapter I'll be starting Thriller Bark...I believe.
