Hello readers. Thank you all for your follows, favorites, and reviews. With this chapter I decided to write about what Ahk does when Nicky isn't at the museum. Hopefully its as entertaining as the other chapters.

Chapter 29 Laser Pointer:

Ahkmenrah was bored. Extremely bored. It was a Tuesday night so of course Nicky wasn't in the museum. The others were off doing their own things. He had just finished reading a book series and really didn't feel like looking for another. So what was there to do? Go exploring of course. Though by now he had pretty much explored every nook and cranny in the museum as well as the immediate surrounding area outside, without Larry's knowledge of course. Well he supposed he hadn't explored the air vents, but there was no guarantee he would even fit. So exploring at the moment was just looking through whatever desk drawer, cabinet, or closet he could find for anything remotely interesting.

So he walked towards Dr. McPhees' office to look through his desk drawers with Anubis following at his heels. He was sure that at this rate someday the jackal stepping on his cloak as he walked was going to have him tripping and falling onto his face or, Ra forbid, falling down the stairs. He came to the office and went inside. He made his way around the desk and sat on the cushioned chair behind it, and accidently rolled it over his cloak. He cursed in Egyptian and couldn't help but wonder why he still wore the darn thing. After moving the cloak so it would no longer get in the way he started looking through drawers, careful not to move things out of place to much. He wouldn't want Larry to get blamed for his exploring, not snooping, as Larry was blamed for the actions of the exhibits quite often. Then much to the pharaoh's embarrassment he realized it mostly for leaving Anubis' collar on or something else to do with the jackal and Sekhmet. He paused his exploration for a second to count the amount of times the night guard had to talk to him about his pets. Ahkmenrah shook his head giving up, it was to many times to count.

He continued to look through the drawers and he sighed. It didn't look like Dr. McPhee had anything interesting in his desk when something silver caught his eye. He picked it up and examined the silver cylinder shaped object. At the top it looked like there were two tiny light bulbs and two black buttons on the side. He pointed it down at the desk and pressed one of the buttons, a small red dot of light appeared. Whatever this object was it was certainly the most entertaining thing he'd found in a while. He absently shone it around the room, but as he did he noticed Anubis' ears perk up and the jackal lifted his head up from where they had been resting on his paws. He jumped up and stared intently at the dot of red light.

Just for fun Ahkmenrah moved the light so that it was right in front of Anubis on the floor. The jackal tried to bite it, but failed to do so. Raising an eyebrow the pharaoh moved the light across the floor, watching as Anubis chased it. Then with growing amusement he moved it so that the red light was on the wall and Anubis jumped at it. Unfortunately the jackal's claws dug into the wall and left long gashes in the paint as he landed after having jumped up. The pharaoh bit his lip and let go of the button, he wondered how he was going to explain this to Larry. Anubis paced around the room whining at the loss of his new toy.

"Come on Anubis lets go." The pharaoh called as he stood up and walked out of the room. The jackal once again followed happily at his heels. He returned to his exhibit and found Sekhmet curled up in front of his sarcophagus. Out of curiosity he switched back on the red light and had it right in front of the tigress' nose. She lifted her head and swiped at the light. Ahkmenrah grinned. He then spent the night sitting cross-legged on top of his sarcophagus and watched as Sekhmet and Anubis raced around the room chasing after the light.

Larry eventually made the usual announcement that the sun would be up soon so everyone needed to get in their place. Ahkmenrah sent the tigress and jackal to the Hall of Mammals, and then went about putting his jewels and crown in their display cases. He walked back to his sarcophagus and picked up the laser pointer and shrugged, it was too late to put it back now. He climbed into his sarcophagus set the laser pointer next to him and paused. He felt like he had forgotten something, he had remembered to take off Anubis' collar so it wasn't that. After a few minutes of thought he couldn't figure out what he had forgotten so he closed the lid of the sarcophagus. He shifted to get in a more comfortable position. Then the sun rose and everything went still in the museum.

oOo

Half an hour later Larry had just finished putting away his stuff in his locker in the Security Office. He was ready to get home and get some sleep. Right as he left the room he heard Dr. McPhee shouting.

"Mr. Daley do you know were my laser pointer went? I need it for a presentation today!" A pause. "And why are there scratches on the wall?!"

Larry sighed and could feel a headache beginning to start. 'Note to self: add laser pointers to the list of stuff exhibits can't have.' He thought. 'Especially from dead teenage pharaohs and their overly destructive pets.' Was an afterthought.

So as always please review. Also there probably won't be updates for the next couple of weeks, you can thank finals for that. Though once summer gets here the updates will become regular again.
