Disclaimer: Never!

Well I think this is nice and all. But staring back and forth is getting kind of awkward. Personally, I'd like someone to talk soon…please? The boy name Arai cleared his throat and smiled. "So um, these are your friends?"

"Oh yeah, um, this is Hikaru and Kaoru." She said as she turned to them. I looked down to them. They crouched down on the floor with Tamaki leaning over them. They had similar attitudes from when I first meet them. Well, Hikaru anyway. Kaoru just seemed curious. Where as his twin didn't seem all to pleased. Why? Not sure yet, but I'm probably going to find out. Haruhi turned to Tamaki. He looked very expectant of her next words. "And this my-" She paused. "An acquaintance of mine." He looked at her in shock at the same moment that there was a loud bang on the piano.

He turned to the culprit "Misuzu, please don't add sound effect to my moment of despair." I shook my head; if I remember clearly, he did tell her not to call him sempai. Guess he kind of brought it on himself.

"And your Kris, right?" I turned back to the boy. "That's what the woman called you." Right 'woman'.

I nodded. "Yeah Kris, Kris Carson." I smiled politely. Which he returned ,but his eyes seemed like he was unsure or looking for something and I could really tell what it was. But I can't really come out and say 'What are you looking at?' It would be rude. He looked away before it got to weird.

I walked out with two drinks on a tray. "Here you go." I say as I put a drink in front of Arai and Haruhi. She seemed pretty happy to see this boy and she couldn't talk to him as easily as she could if she wasn't working. So I told Misuzu-chi that I would take over for her. While she had to catch up. Arai looked like he hadn't seen her in ages when he recognized who she was.

"Thank you." He said

"Your welcome." I said

Haruhi smiled gratefully at me and I smiled back. She then turned to the boy. "I haven't seen you since graduation." So I was right to assume they haven't seen each other in a while.

"Yeah and you cut off all your hair. It's such a shame." He said

"I don't think so. Since I've cut it. It has been easier to manage." She said, playing with the ends of her hair.

"Do you still keep in touch with anyone from middle school anymore?" He asked

"A little, Kazami still calls me; what about you?" She asked. And with that I walked over to the other portion of the host club. Honey, Mori and Kyoya came in shortly after Arai so they quietly went over and sat down. I sat down in front of the counter next to Hikaru who was drinking his juice kind of hostile. Ok….

"So he's a friend of Haruhi's from middle school, huh?" Kyoya asked

I nodded. "Yeah looks like it." I glanced over at the to again.

"They've had zero contact since then, so in my opinion there not friends, just former classmates." Hikaru said. Well maybe your opinions don't need to come out of your mouth. I turned to the snappy twin as he frowned down at the counter. I gave his brother a questioning look, but he shook his head. Well fine then.

"So are all these guys are in a club with you?" He asked

"Host club." She answered tiredly

"Oh, is that so." He said

"Kris." Kaoru said. I turned to him. "He thinks you're a guy." I realized that to, but what can you do? I can't correct every person that can't tell my gender. If it happens back home, it won't change here. I shrugged.

"It's no big deal." I said." Its fine."

"Arai-chan" Honey said. I turned to him. The boy looked at the blond in question. What is he doing? "K-chan is a girl." I looked at him in surprise.

Arai looked over in my direction. "K-chan…?" Then he looked as if he understood. "O-Oh I'm sorry, I didn't realized. I-Its not that you don't look like one I-I just assumed." Oh dear.

I waved my hands at him. "No, no, its fine really." I smiled. "Happens all the time."

He went quiet looking at his drink then back at me with a guilty expression. "I didn't mean to offend you."

"Its didn't offend me. No harm done." I said. Of course I knew deep down that wasn't true, but I didn't want him to feel bad. But right now, I truthfully don't feel bad. I told Honey a while back about my insecurity about not being recognized as a girl. He knew this. I looked at the blond. He saw me and smiled. Yes, I think I'm alright.

"Tsk, maybe your blind if you can't see it." Hikaru said. And small happy moment ruined.

"Hikaru." Haruhi warned. He brushed off her tone.

"Anyway, shouldn't you be working; you shouldn't be slacking off." He said in a obnoxious tone while holding up his empty glass.

She sweat dropped. "Misuzu said I could take a break." I took the glass from his hand.

"I'm taking over for her." I said, trying not to frown. Hikaru, you are annoying me. I turned when I heard what sounded like ripping of paper. Tamaki was sitting in the corner while he was tearing up his manuals. Yeah, he's cleaning that up himself.

"Hey, quit making more garbage that we'll have to take out." Haruhi scolded. No, he's doing it himself.

"It's not garbage; I'm making a hamster home." He mumbled

"Sempai, you don't have a hamster." She said

He looked at her from the corner of his eye. "I'm not your sempai. I'm only an acquaintance."

Arai laughed a bit. "Who new Ouran was so funny. It's such a prestige school. I imagine it's a whole other world."

"It's a different world alright" Haruhi said. I nodded in agreement. Impossible things started happening once I stepped foot into the pink school. Of course, it could all be my imagination, but….

"I was kind of worried about you going to such an élite school. But I'm glad your alright." He said. I smiled along with Haruhi. Arai seems like a nice guy. He blushed and averted his eyes from her. "I mean it's not like I was the only one worried, lots of people were."

"What's with him?" Hikaru asked. I turned to him. "He's trying the refreshing innocent approach. Someone should tell him we already had a refresher contest." Y'know your anything but refreshing right now ginger.

"Your being unusually critical." Kyoya said. I agree with him.

"He's only being nice. They haven't seen each other in a long time." I tried to reasoned. I took the pitcher of juice to fill up his cup. Maybe he'll stop being mean if he gets a drink.

"I'm just saying. It's obvious this guy has a thing for Haruhi." He said. "Its sickening to try and watch him flirt." I frowned. Hikaru, you don't deserve juice.

Haruhi stood up angrily. "Hikaru what's wrong with you? Quit acting like such a jerk!"

"Hey it's no big deal." Arai said. "He's right. I did have a thing for you once." My mouth dropped open and the glass in my hand almost fell to the floor. "But who cares, you already turned me down right?" Everyone gasped. Ok I need to put this down before I break it.

I glanced to Haruhi who looked just as shocked as everyone else. "Why do you look so surprised?" Kyoya asked

"Well I didn't know…" She said

"You didn't know you turned him down?" I asked raising my brow.

She looked at me. "I…." She went silent.

"You have to clue us in on this story Arai. Now when did this happen?" Tamaki asked

"Well it was about a year ago." He said. "I wanted to stop Haruhi before she went to take the test for you school and-" He told the rest of his tale to us and a glanced at Haruhi a few times; she looked more and more shocked as he went on. We stared at her when he finished. Apparently she was really clueless to his affections even when she turned him down. Haruhi's pretty dense

"Haruhi." Kyoya said. "You broke this mans heart just to get a laugh out of some sick joke?" This suddenly felt like a police investigation.

"Um, no, I didn't understand what he meant." She said.

"This is a pretty serious crime, huh?" Honey said

"Hm." Mori nodded.

"I'm so sorry." Haruhi said bowing her head.

"Ah, so your turning me down again a whole year later?" He laughed. "Don't worry about it Fujioka. I'm over it already; you didn't understand what I meant, so that means you weren't interested…but you know I was always drawn to that far away look you had. And when you would look someone in the eye when you spoke to them. I liked that about you. I always thought you were special."

I stared at the boy in silence. To think that such small gestures meant so much to him. I guess I'm just curious to what a boy is thinking when he likes a girl. I know Honey told me he likes everything about me. But what made him like me first? I'm to embarrassed to ask him up front. I shook my head. I blinked when Tamaki took Arai by the hands. "You really think that much of my little girl. Don't worry, I'll never forget your calenture."

"Uh…" I could tell Arai felt awkward. I remember when I felt that way. Well more than him anyway.

*Break*

"Wow, you guys went to Kyoto? How unusual that you stayed in the country." Honey said. We were all gathered at the table. I sat in between him and Mori. Well not all of us. Certain twins didn't seem to want to join.

"No, its quite normal really." Arai said

"I've always been a fan of Kyoto." Tamaki said

"I can't tell you how many times I've had to tour the temples with him." Kyoya said. I rested my hand into my cheek. I've read and heard many things about Kyoto as well as Japan, but seeing it on a piece of paper and actually being there is different.

"Kyoto is a nice place." I said.

"Its alright I suppose." He said looking at me with a smile then blinked. "Um, do you mind me asking you a question?"

"Go ahead." I said.

"Are you a foreigner?" He asked I paused but nodded.

"Yeah, from America." I said

"So are you a honor student too?" He asked

"No, not like Haruhi. I got in on a sports scholarship." I said. Honey took hold of arm.

"K-chan does Kendo." He said with a flowery smile.

"That's cool." Arai said. I felt uncomfortable now. I didn't want this conversation to be about me. I think this is a good chance to learn about one of my friends.

"S-So um, how long have you known Haruhi?" I asked

"Yes I'd like to know that too." Tamaki said. "She never tells daddy anything."

"I'm right here sempai." Haruhi said in a dry tone. He ignored her comment.

"Hikaru, Kaoru, come over here. This might be the only time we get to hear about what Haruhi was like in middle school." Tamaki said. I turned around to look at the twins. They've been over there this whole time. Usually they would be all over Haruhi's business. But Hikaru is being angry and snappy at a person he doesn't even know.

"Sorry, but I'm not interested." Hikaru said. "Man, how stupid can you guys get? Where's the fun in talking about somebody's past? I don't see the appeal. Besides doesn't this guy realize Haruhi wants nothing to do with him?" At that moment Haruhi got out of her seat and she did not look happy. "She's got plenty of friends. So she doesn't need you around get it?" Hikaru turned around to a slap across the face.

"That's not something for you to decide Hikaru! I'm not going to tolerate you insulting my friends anymore, got that?!" She yelled

"But why?" He said. "Why should anyone else matter to you? I thought we were your friends, are we or aren't we?!" He yelled, standing to his feet. I looked at him with wide eyes. Say what? He ran for the stairs as Kaoru followed after him.

"Hikaru, wait for me!" Their feet were heard until there was a slam of a door.

Tamaki sighed. "Their world is still so small. Such a shame." I looked at the blond. The way Hikaru was acting, seemed like it was a lot more to it then that. I sighed into my hand. Fingers wrapped around my other hand. I looked over to Honey.

"Everything will be ok." He said tilting his head with a smile. I nodded.

I hope so.

*Break*

Arai decided to it was time leave shortly after the little incident. It would be awkward to stay and talk about life together with an angry ginger up stairs specifically at him. "I really am sorry Arai." Haruhi apologized.

We stood outside; he was readying himself to leave. "Its ok. I don't know what, but I really set him off huh?" There was a click from the door and the bell rang as someone came outside. I turned around to see Hika….wait.

"Hika-chan." Honey said. No, it's not him, I was sure of it.

"I was out of line. I'm sorry." He said as he stopped in front of the boy. No, that isn't his voice either. This is Kaoru. But why act as Hikaru?

Arai didn't even notice. "Don't worry about it." He looked at me. "And I really am sorry for confusing you."

"Its ok, honest." I said with a smile

He smiled back. "We'll I'll see you guys. Bye Fujioka." We all waved to him as he rode away on his bike

"Bye-bye!" Honey yelled happily.

"So Kaoru tell me why your pretending to be Hikaru." Haruhi said. Everyone turned to him in shock. Excluding myself.

I raised my brow as I examined his face "Where did that scratch on your cheek go?" Haruhi pulled on his face and whiped off his cheek.

"I just covered it with some concealor." He said. I blinked. Why do you own that? "I don't think Hikaru's temper is going to let up anytime soon. He's no fun when he's like this. So I'm here to ask you a favor. How would you like to go out with me on a date?" He said with a smile. Everyone silently stared at him in shock. What the what? When did this happen? If he's asking Haruhi out, doesn't that mean he likes her? I've been missing out on a lot.

Kris's denseness will come to an end soon. I assure you this so please review!
