Mary: Hey author person, how far are you in your story writing so far? You haven't forgotten your promise have you?

Er, yeah... about that... I only have two...

Mary: Are you serious! These stories are short and you've been given plenty of time to write! You better have an excuse for the readers.

I do have a good excuse! Hetalia, reading awesome stories, and art! (I've been enjoying my Christmas presents)

Mary: That's not an excuse! *chases poor author with palette knife*

Garry: *sweat drop* Ani doesn't own Ib. Please enjoy this chapter!

Guardian Angel: Snow Horse

At the age of 6 Ib wanted a horse. She could imagine herself on the back of a white stallion, galloping up and down the street. She would share it with her best friend Mary, who was also in her horse phase. She even wrote a letter to Santa Clause asking for him to bring her a horse.

On the night before the first day of Holiday Break, a blizzard came through the area. By the time it stopped, Ib's backyard was full of sparkling snow. But it was too dark out for the sleepy humans to enjoy yet.

Garry pulled his tattered coat off Ib and slipped it on. "I'll be right back. Be safe until then." he told her. He gave the sleeping girl a wink before flying through the wall. He pulled the coat tighter around him against the cold and started creating something he was sure would make Ib smile.

Hours later, Ib was woken by her mother walking in her bedroom. Mrs. Kouri seemed to be bewildered and excited. "Come Ib. Put your boots and coat on. There's something outside you have to see."

Ib followed her mother, curious about what could be so exciting outside. Once she was beyond the door, her eyes widened in surprise. She understood why her mom was so excited to show her.

In the front yard stood a horse made entirely out of snow. It's body was two balls of snow packed together until it was smooth. The head was shaped and placed on a neck that looked like it might fall off the body no matter how firmly packed it was. It even had a tail shape behind it.

Garry grinned at Ib's stunned expression. "Surprise!" he sang, "Isn't it cool?"

"How..? Who made it?" Ib wondered.

Mrs. Kouri shrugged, "Maybe it was Daddy. Or one of the neighbor kids."

"Ib gave her mother a pleading look. The one that universally said, "May I?"

Mrs. Kouri giggled at her daughter's cuteness. "After you eat and get dressed you may play outside."

Ib beamed at her mother before hurrying inside to do her tasks. The little girl spent the day playing with the snow horse, pretending it was real. The Kouri family and Garry still remembered the happiness the packed snow brought to the imaginative little girl in the years to come.

Fun Fact: Years ago, my dad built a snow horse in the backyard. There's a picture of me with my siblings on its back. Unfortunately, my brother accidentally decapitated it before it melted...
