Hello one and all! So this is my last Author's Note, which I know will be long. This is my acknowledgements page. As you probably can tell by the last chapter, that is the end of The Spirit Vampire. Sad I know, to say, but it isn't sad to me. It's an achievement. I've done…at least over a hundred pages, a novella by rights.
So before I give you some exciting news, let me get this over with. Aparts from every single one of the people who reviewed The Spirit Vampire, or even just favourited the story, I thank you. I have enjoyed reading the reviews so much, and have wasted time just reading them over and over. It means a lot to me as a newbie writer, especially when some people have said that I am better than Stephenie Meyer herself.
I couldn't have done it without an assortment of people, who I am now going to embarrass by publicly naming them. :D And they know I love 'em!!
Firstly to Alanna and Mel, for helping me with the editing of the chapters. You've both been a huge help, and I've really appreciated you taking the time out of your busy lives to edit my boring work!
To Dawn, aka .Angel, for giving me great advice on that dratted paragraphing and other things that seem to have a personal vendetta against me, I also really appreciate your help. And I love reading your reviews! (btw, I'm not a 'dog' fan, so you can take the mutt hostage all you want!)
To Kat, my marvellous electrical socket buddy, for telling me that 'you must absolutely write this story.' Thank you for listening to me on meebo as I bored you with the details.
Also Kasey, my awesome, awesome Maine buddy who also listened to me rabbit on in the wee small hours of the morning about spirits and vampires and relationships. You helped me to understand what I was writing a lot more, as well as my characters. Bless you!!!
Everyone from - Sky, Emma, Sophs, CLG, everyone I haven't mentioned. You rock.
And the rest of you - I wouldn't have gone ahead with it if people didn't review. YOU made this possible, YOU made me continue on. And for that, I thank you ever so much.
So let's get on with the exciting news. After much thinking, I realized that I couldn't quite part with Ally & Robert just yet. I love them too much to leave them. If Bella and Edward can have a story after Twilight, so can Albert (Ally & Robert :D)!
So I give you *exuberant flourish of hands* NEW MOON RISING! The long awaited sequel to the hit novella, The Spirit Vampire, a new take on Stephenie Meyer's bestseller Twilight. We all know the story of New Moon, Twilight's sequel. Edward leaves Bella, she almost goes into depression if it wasn't for Jacob, new bff and resident werewolf, before Eddiepuss decides to go to Italy and kill himself. But let's move back from that, and visit New Moon from Ally's point of view.
The Cullen's absence doesn't just affect Bella. Dealing with a depressed Bella, Ally must shove aside her own feelings so that she can make sure Bella doesn't do anything stupid. Not that she can stop her. Or the motorcycles, or the new found obsession with cliff diving. Ally doesn't like the choice of Bella's new friends, especially Jacob. But new visitors on the La Push reservation means that Ally can forget about the black hole in heart. She's not without the heartache though…the reappearance of someone in her life, the disappearance of another.
I hope that makes sense. You know the New Moon story, but you don't know it from Ally's side. And I think that it will shock you out of your seats….so here's the surprise. A sneak peek at New Moon Rising!
There was a pounding on the front door, loud and consistent. Looking at my watch, I noted that Josh was early. Fifteen minutes early, to be exact.
I groaned. "I'm coming! Just hold on a sec!" My voice carried down the staircase and to the door. I thundered down the stairs, trying to find my jacket and my keys. I needed my keys to lock up the house, the keys that were in the pocket of my jacket. Josh kept pounding on the door.
"You're bloody impatient, you are. And you are way too - "
Josh was facing away from me, but something was wrong. I had felt it as soon as I had opened the door. When he turned around, it was like a nightmare come true.
It wasn't Josh.
It was Robert.
I shook my head, my whole body shaking. "No. No, you're not allowed to be here. You can't be here. You left!"
"Ally - " Robert began to say, moving towards me.
"No!" I yelled, moving away. Every inch of my body shook. A part of me longed to run and wrap my arms around his neck, to feel the cool marble of his skin, the sweet smell and touch of his breath on my cheek, my hair, my forehead, my neck.
'No, you can't do this. You can't leave and expect to comee back at any time you want," I felt the tears running down my face, and wiped them away quickly. I wouldn't let him see me cry.
"Where's Bella?"
Robert's question took me by surprise, causing me to step back. I stared at his never aging face in shock. We hadn't seen each other for so many months and he was asking about Bella? My surprise and simmering anger must have shown on my face, because he started to speak again, and this time I let him.
"Where is Bella, Ally? Tell me!" There was something in his voice - was it fear? Panic? It made me stop short and answer him sensibly, as if he was never gone.
"She's on the Rez, with Jacob. Why? Why is it so important to know where Bella is?" I asked, eyeing Robert warily.
"Why aren't you there with her? Why are you here?"
I laughed bitterly. "What is this, twenty questions? I'm waiting for Josh to come pick me up and take me back to the Rez -" My eyes widened. Josh. I'd forgotten about Josh. And the fact that Robert would have no idea who Josh was. Robert wasn't too keen on finding out about the new guy in my life though.
"What were you planning to do on the Rez?" The questions were getting stranger and stranger.
"We're going cliff diving. Well, Bella is. It's one of her crazy ideas that Jacob finally agreed to." I shook my head. Bella was seriously demented in the head if you asked me.
A word - actually, a series of one word - came out of Robert's mouth that I had never heard before. At the same time, a little red VW Rabbit pulled into Charlie's driveway, and out stepped Josh.
He looked confused at first, to see a black Mercedes in the drive. A second or two later, and the wave must have hit, judging by the twisted look on his face. I knew what he was thinking.
Vampire.
Robert turned also. Almost the same expression on his face, but show disgust more than anything. I gulped, wondering how to explain that my ex was a vampire, but my new best friend was a werewolf…
I hope you enjoyed that! Please look out for New Moon Rising, as I'm sure you'll enjoy it.
Good night and good luck,
Literator!
