Author's Note: This chapter is just over 4,000 words and is filled with tons of Clexa goodness. It took so long to update because I was having issues trying to get the beginning chunk of this chapter right. First I couldn't get Lexa right in terms of her not sounding like she was apologizing for something that didn't happen in this story (basically canon was get stuck in my brain), then Clarke sounded whiny, basically this is probably the fifth draft but finally I found a version that I really liked. Now while I'm not a big fan of re-writing concepts from canon into my stories, I am going to use a major part from the canon world but I will be putting my own spin on it and obviously things that occurred in canon aren't happening in this story so it will be different. This chapter includes some phrases that were used in canon but in a different way.

There is a new mysterious element in this chapter. Originally I was going to keep it a complete secret until the moment happened but I changed my mind, you guys can guess what might occur in about two-three chapters.

Happy Reading. Feel free to leave a review if you choose. Most of this chapter has not been re-read so mistakes are mine.

Chapter 29

Before Clarke could even think about asking any sort of a question, Lexa continued. "When I went up that hill to end the shooting so you could get through the large door, Emerson tried to make a deal with me. A deal that would have left your people in that mountain to die and mine would have been left unharmed. This, on top of what is going on with the messenger made me realize that while I care about you so much, you are not one of my people, Clarke. If there was ever a moment in time where I had to choose, yours or mine…" She paused for a moment looking away for just a second knowing that what she would have to say next would hurt the woman she loved more than anything in this world. She looked back after a couple seconds of thought, "It would kill me, Clarke, but I would make it. I would choose my people. I would try as best I could to help yours but in the end..."

"You would choose your people…" Clarke deadpanned finishing off Lexa's sentence. "It's a leaders curse. Your own people will always come first. I think that if that ever happened I would hate you for it, choosing yours over mine but that doesn't mean I wouldn't eventually understand it. You know I would choose mine before yours too. No matter how close you and I are, my people would always come first."

Lexa nodded feeling an overwhelming sense of pride and love for Clarke, "That's why I love you. You understand what it is like to make the tough call."

"What is your solution, Lexa?" Clarke asked and when she saw that look of almost shock on Lexa's face, she continued. "Do you give me so little credit? I can see the gears in your mind turning. I know you have a plan to correct this little conundrum, otherwise you wouldn't have even brought this up." She looked to the commander with curious eyes.

Lexa couldn't help the smile that formed on her lips, "How do you do that? How do you see right through me?"

Clarke shrugged her shoulders, "Your guess is as good as mine, Lexa. But I know you, I know when you have a plan. This look, on your face right now is the look of someone who has a plan. I do think it is a plan that you maybe aren't entirely sure of because I have sensed the anxiousness in you since we sat on this couch. So tell me, what is it you have in mind?"

Lexa let go of a breath she wasn't aware she was holding at the mention of Clarke knowing there was more to this conversation than she was letting on. "You are right, I do have a plan but I am not sure you will like it."

Clarke reached forward and put the plate on the table in front of them so that she could give Lexa her full attention.

Lexa leaned forward and placed her plate also on the table, but planted her feet on the ground and carefully watched the plate as she collected her thoughts before looking back to Clarke. "I want your people to become my people. No one would dare to make a move against your people, because that would be an attack on me."

"Makes sense, but what's the catch?" Clarke asked trying to get Lexa to just come out with it. She knew it was something, she just didn't know what as Lexa was being very odd with the information.

"My people see you as a threat Clarke. All they see is the mighty wanheda, the commander of death, they expect me to kill you, to take your power. In the past, if anyone became as, or even more, powerful than the commander of blood, they would need to die. That is you. For my people to even consider the idea of you, or your people, joining the coalition, you would have to bow to me." Lexa explained completely not wanting to give Clarke a chance to interrupt because if she did, Lexa didn't know if she'd completely come out with it. She didn't like the idea of Clarke bowing to her because she never once thought of Clarke as less but she also knew there was no other way.

"Bow to you," Clarke repeated not realizing it was loud enough for Lexa to hear, as she was just trying to wrap her brain around the idea.

Lexa nodded, "I realize it is not ideal but just know it would just be a formality, I do not want you to think for even one second, that I view you as less than me." She rushed to try and defend the original point to all of this. "Of all the people I have known in my life, I have never see anyone as tough or as fearless as you and I do not want you to think-"

Clarke scooted forward on the couch, her feet dropping to the ground, the blanket being pushed into the now small area between her and Lexa as she moved her body closer to the commander. She placed her left hand on Lexa's right knee cutting Lexa from her defensive statement, "Hey, I never once thought that you would suggest this unless there was no other option. While it is not exactly ideal, as you said, I would do anything if it meant that down the road there wouldn't be a choice. That you or I would not have to choose between us…" Clarke stared lovingly into Lexa's green eyes, "...or our people." She admitted in almost a whisper as she leaned in and captured Lexa's lips in a short but passion filled kiss. She pulled away, and stared into green eyes again, "If I have to bow to you, I will."

Lexa slowly opened her eyes to stare back into ocean blue eyes, she could see and feel the honesty of Clarke's statement with every fibre of her being.

"When do we need to do this?" Clarke asked curious to know how long she'd have to prepare for something she wasn't entirely sure how to prepare for.

"It will be tomorrow night," Lexa stated.

Clarke looked at Lexa shocked, "Tomorrow. Why so soon?"

"I sent riders today to Camp Jaha to collect your people to look over the treaty that was just signed. Instead we can complete the ceremony for you to join the coalition. Just know that someone from your people will have to be an ambassador and permanently stay in Polis. They will be in charge of any decisions that may affect that of Skaikru," Lexa added as she grabbed her plate of food once again and leaned back into the couch hoping that Clarke would agree to be the ambassador.

Clarke smirked at Lexa, "This ambassador, does it matter if they are close the commander?" She asked as she picked up the plate from Lexa's hand-

"Hey, what are you-" Lexa was cut off in protest as she watched Clarke almost immediately place a knee on each side of her legs and sat down on her lap, the plate being tossed onto the table. "Oh… not hungry anymore?" She let her hands run up Clarke's thighs to her hips.

Clarke smiled, "Hungry for you." She leaned in capturing Lexa's lips in a passionate kiss, her fingers making there way around Lexa' neck and into her long braided hair.

Lexa became lost in the feel of Clarke's lips upon her own, the feeling of Clarke's fingers massaging her scalp, she could get lost in this feeling and never want to let it go. A moment later, they pulled back needing some air, "Hmmm… " She pulled in her lips to wet them as she pulled Clarke closer, her hands reaching up under Clarke's shirt, feeling the skin just above her pants.

This was enough to make Clarke shiver from the touch arching her back before looking back down at Lexa, "You are so irresistible." She reached down and pulled at her top wanting to feel Lexa's hands on her body. The top falling down onto the ground.

Lexa began placing open mouthed kisses from Clarke's lips down her neck, sucking gently just below Clarke's right earlobe.

"Oh.. Lexa.." Clarke breathed out in arousal for the woman underneath her.

Lexa pulled back briefly to pull her shirt off as well, it being tossed to the ground somewhere in the vicinity. Her mouth immediately went back to kissing Clarke's skin, but this time she moved down Clarke's neck, to the nook of her neck. "Oh, I need more of you…" Lexa used this moment of distraction and swung Clarke to her right placing her on top of what was left of the blanket. He kisses trailed down from the nook of Clarke's neck down between her breasts, to her belly button, to just above the band of her pants. Lexa sat up so she could pull at Clarke's pants, wasting no time and pulling her underwear with them. They were tossed on the ground nearby. She then nestled herself down to the area of Clarke she wanted to taste once again.

It didn't take as long as it could have for Clarke to be writhing hard from the orgasm that pulsated through her being. Lexa slowing the pace as Clarke came down from her high. Once complete, Lexa came back up Clarke's naked body and kissed her on the lips.

"That was amazing," Clarke breathed out in awe. "Now it's my turn." She quickly turned the tables on Lexa as she wasted no time reaching down with her right hand into Lexa's pants. She could tell very quickly that this would be an easy job from the wetness her fingers could feel.

"Clarke, what are you.. Oh-" Lexa's brain turned off at the moment of contact to the spot she wanted to be touched so very bad.

Clarke used her right hand to pull Lexa into her to capture her lips wanting to feel the exact moment that Lexa's orgasm split through her body.

It a little bit as it was somewhat difficult for Clarke to keep up pace when she had Lexa's tongue constantly trying to reach into her own mouth. Clarke would get lost in the moment of competing for dominance in the kiss that she'd stop with her pace down below. Until she'd gain an upper hand and would reach her hand back down and continue the pace, trying to get quicker and quicker.

Clarke could feel Lexa stop kissing her just as her orgasm had to be rushing through her own body. The intense feel of euphoria almost too much for the commander as her body fell on top of Clarke's as soon as her body stopped clenching. It was a moment before Clarke asked, "You still with me?"

Lexa lay on Clarke's naked body, "Hmmm… Yes I am."

"So this ambassador thing, do I get a fancy sash like you?" Clarke asked pondering the idea of her wearing a cool looking sash attached to a shoulder guard that looked like a tire. "Maybe mine could be blue instead of red."

"You do not get a sash, that is something only the commander has," Lexa pointed out playing with one of the straps on Clarke's bra.

"Commander of Death… Remember?" Clarke pointed out taking full advantage of this diminished state that Lexa was currently in.

Lexa pulled herself up to rest on her right forearm to look at Clarke, "I know what you are doing, Clarke. You think that because you have exhausted me that you will be able to trick me. It will not work." She stated leaning down to kiss Clarke again.

"So is that a no to the sash then?" Clarke asked holding back a laugh as Lexa gave her a look before resting her head down again.

"No sash." Lexa confirmed.

"Dang it," Clarke answered with sarcastic defeat. "Well even without that maybe I can get myself a nice little crown, not to show you up or anything, wouldn't want that." There was no response. "Lexa, are you still with me?" Clarke tried her best to see if Lexa was sleeping and as she almost fell off the couch she confirmed Lexa's eyes were shut and her breathing was evening out. Clarke smiled in excitement.

After about twenty minutes of Clarke listening to ensure Lexa was fully asleep, Clarke did her best to slip out from under the sleeping commander trying to make sure she didn't accidently wake her up. She slowly put her clothes back on in the darkness, which was tougher than she originally thought it was going be. Once she did, she covered up Lexa properly with the blanket, grabbed her jacket and headed for the door. It was a little squeaky so she was sure Lexa was going to wake up but luckily she did not.

Once out, Clarke sighed in relief. "Phew… now hopefully Sierra is still awake." Clarke headed to the elevator and after much difficulty eventually figured out how to communicate which floor she wanted to go. Luckily, Sierra was only about three floors down.

She arrived outside Sierra's door and knocked and, as she thought, Sierra didn't come to the door so instead of going back up to Lexa, she just opened the door. She opened the door to find Sierra and Raven sitting around the table playing what looked to maybe be chess.

"Oh hey Clarke, took you long enough," Sierra said as she looked up from the game briefly before looking back down and picking up a rock and moving it one space.

Clarke shut the door behind her, "What if I would have just walked away since you didn't answer the door?"

"Seems like that would be your problem then. You are here for my help, not the other way around," Sierra pointed out honestly. She looked to the board and watched Raven make a move.

"Check mate." Raven looked from the board to Sierra.

"Damnit," Sierra looked to Clarke, "Look what you made me do, I lost."

"I don't think it was Clarke, Sierra, you've been losing for hours," Raven pointed out.

Sierra glared at Raven, "Shut it." She turned to look back up at Clarke, "What took you so long? We've been meeting earlier than this for many days now. I was starting to think you weren't going to show this time. Does this mean you figured out exactly what you want to do then?"

"Lexa had something she wanted to talk to me about, I couldn't just distract her with sex-"

"Uh… I walked in on your two, I don't need the visual again, Clarke." Raven stopped Clarke in disgust as she was brought back to that moment.

Clarke and Sierra laughed, "As I was saying, I had to wait for her to fall asleep so I could leave. It took longer than normal."

"Okay but did you figure out how you're going to do it? It's going to be a little harder now with the snow on the ground for set-up with whatever you have decided," Sierra pointed out the obvious.

Clarke nodded, "I think so but as you said with the snow on the ground how can we make it happen."

Sierra shrugged, "I don't know. This is your idea. You could have made it so much easier on yourself if you didn't follow our traditions but nooooooo... You have to do it our way."

"I think it would be so much more meaningful if I followed your tradition, don't you think so," Clarke finally moved to sit down on the chair across from Raven.

Sierra sighed in annoyance, "I think Lexa will love it regardless of how you do it. You just need to get it over with because I like sleep and for what seems like weeks… I have not been able to get a full night's rest because of your incessant questions. You have the luxury of sleeping with the commander, she gives you leeway to sleep until whenever, I on the other hand do not."

"Sierra, I almost died, I deserve that sleep," Clarke defended herself.

"Oh… you almost died.." Sierra said sarcastically. "That was a while ago, give it a rest. So what's the location going to be? Did you make up your mind?"

"Wait… what are you guys talking about?" Raven finally intervened as she was getting confused as to what was being discussed.

Sierra looked to Clarke as she wasn't about to be the one to bring it up if Clarke didn't want anyone else to know.

Clarke looked from Sierra to Raven, "If I tell you, you have to promise to keep it to yourself. I do not want anyone finding out about it."

Raven nodded, "Got it. Besides, I need a distraction from the object from space."

Clarke agreed that Raven could use a distraction so she explained to her what they were talking about. Even went into detail about her plan now that she had one to follow. Raven and Sierra agree to help with set-up while Clarke went back to the room.

Next morning, Lexa awoke sitting up from the couch blinking a couple of times, yawning and reaching out her arms in a stretch that cracked a part of her back getting rid of the kink from sleeping on the couch all night. It was then she realized Clarke was not on the couch. She looked over to the bed and spotted a lump in the bed. She got up from the couch grabbing her tank top along the way and throwing it over her head before climbing onto the bed next to Clarke. She reached over and placed a kiss on Clarke's left cheek which caused the blonde t stir.

Blue eyes connected with green, Clarke spoke in a sleepy voice, "Hey…"

"You crawled out from under me and came to the bed without me?" Lexa asked almost saddened that she was left on the couch alone.

"I had to pee, and when I got back you looked too comfy so I just left you there," Clarke tried to defend herself even though it was partly a lie. She tried to distract Lexa by pulling her back down for another kiss.

"Last night was nice," Lexa recalled as she pulled back from the kiss looking over Clarke, still seeing that glow of release on her features. "I love the person I become when I am with you."

Clarke looked up at Lexa with love, "You're just saying that to get me out of my clothes again."

Lexa smiled leaning back down, "Is it working?" She asked right before their lips connected again.

"What happened to your important commander duties?" Clarke asked loving the warmth coming off of Lexa keeping at least her own body a little warmer.

"As you have said on many occasions, I am the commander, I can do as I please," Lexa pointed out her very important role among her people. In this moment however, all she wanted to do was to not be the commander and just be there with Clarke. "Why can I not enjoy a nice morning with the love of my life?"

Clarke could feel an additional warmth spread over her body from the showcase of love from Lexa, "I have to show you something later. I know it's not exactly the best of timing but I cannot wait a single second more." She wiped a strand of hair that fell into Lexa's eyes and wrapped it around her right ear.

"Why not just show me now?" Lexa asked curious about this mysterious thing that Clarke is referring too. She placed another very passionate kiss on Clarke's lips to try and convince her.

"Mmm.. I want to but I really want it to be perfect," Clarke tried her best to resist the look on Lexa's face. She was making it very hard to resist in this moment. Clarke had spent a lot of time and energy learning the culture and understanding the importance of it, she wanted it to be as she had planned. However she also knew if she stayed here looking up into those beautiful green eyes full of arousal, she wouldn't be able to keep it a secret. So while she wanted so much to spend the morning with Lexa, she advised, "Well, we have to you know start the day.."

Lexa looked at Clarke confused, "What? I am telling you that I would rather be here with you and have a lazy morning and now you do not want to. Is that what is happening now?" She couldn't believe what she was hearing. All she heard since arriving in Polis was to stay in bed longer and now that wanted to, Clarke was saying no… "Must be pretty important if you are saying no to me." She leaned down and gave Clarke one more kiss before leaning back right off of Clarke's body. She herself then rolled over and off the left side of the bed around to meet Clarke as she headed for the hanger.

"Yes…" Clarke was stopped by Lexa.

Lexa grabbed the jacket for Clarke and held it out for her to put on. Clarke gladly accepted the offer. "Whatever you have going on, remember the ceremony is this evening."

"Right, I'll be back in time, I promise.." Clarke quickly stole one more kiss before disappearing out the door.

Lexa watched Clarke leave and suddenly understood what it must have felt like the few times Lexa has left her in this position. She then turned around and fell back on her bed to get a little shut eye before the craziness of this day truly began.

XXXXXX

Clarke arrived in front of Sierra's bedroom door again and this time, she didn't bother knocking she just barged right in. "Sierra!"

"Lexa, I don't care what your position is, let me get some damn sleep!" Sierra groaned from her bed, her head partially under the covers.

Clarked walked over to the bed, grabbed onto the covers and threw them off Sierra with some force that Sierra was not prepared for, "Get up!"

Sierra immediately curled up into a ball from the sudden cold touching her body. It was then she got a look at who had barged into her room, "Clarke, what the hell? You just left a few hours ago, why are you here already?"

"I need you to get this all setup today," Clarke stated with determination like none other.

Sierra sat up grabbed onto her covers and shouted, "NO!" before pulling them back over herself.

"Yes, I need this done today. I cannot hold out any longer," Clarke pushed the topic. "The look in her eyes this morning, I cannot go one more day without it. You need to do this for me, please?"

Sierra pulled down the covers to look up at Clarke, she could see the sincerity and love written all over her face, "I told you, you shouldn't have done it your own way. With distance and such, it probably couldn't be done until late. What you are asking me, is to miss the ceremony tonight, if I do this for you, you will owe me big time."

"Whatever you want, whenever you want it, I'll do it. I just can't go one more day," Clarke begged Sierra.

Sierra huffed in annoyed, "Fine, I'll do it but I'm going to have to rope Raven into it, and I might have to ask your other friends, maybe Lincoln and Octavia, are you okay with that?"

"If asking them means you can get it set up tonight, I don't care, just please, I do not want Lexa finding out about it prior to it. If she finds out, whatever I owe you is out, understand?" Clarke warned Sierra.

"She's going to be too wrapped up in your people coming today to notice some of her people have disappeared. Besides, if you left her this morning in the state I think you you left her in, she's going to be on your case all day. You should be watching out for yourself and not others." Sierra smirked having an idea of what kind of state Lexa would have been in because on a normal day this would have been Lexa barging in, not Clarke.
