Buffy couldn't really understand why she was unwilling to kill Spike. Maybe because he couldn't really hurt anyone, or because he helped her when he didn't have to. She thought his crush on her was beyond creepy, but it wasn't a good enough reason to have him killed.
She ran to Faith and pulled her off of Spike, whose screams were making her ears explode.
"Faith, enough!"-Buffy yelled and helped Spike get back on his feet.
"Bloody hell..."-he whispered, looking down on his still smoking chest.
"B, what the hell?! He's a vampire, and we SLAY vampires, ok?"
"Why don't you SLAY Angel then?"-Buffy asked, knowing how much Angel helped Faith.
"Cause... he's good. He helped me."-Faith said, realizing how hypocritical she sounded. "Ok, ok, I get it... Just go away, Spike."
"More than happy to."-Spike muttered, lit a cigarette and walked away.
"You so owe me one..."-Faith said to Buffy and kissed her passionately.
"Oh no, no... I've hopped off of the crazy train, now it's time to go home and sleep. Tomorrow is a big day for us..."
"Is it? What's tomorrow?"
"Oh my god, Faith! It's New Year's Eve! How could you forget something like that!?"
"Geez, B, just don't make me go shopping, please! I'll do anything! I'll be making you sandwiches for a week, just don't make me go shopping again!"-Faith begged her, and Buffy smiled.
She couldn't understand Faith, how was it possible for a girl to hate shopping? Even worse: How could anyone hate holidays?
It was the happy time of year for Buffy, it was like the child inside her resurfaced and took over the adult who had to deal with all kinds of demons, literally, every day. Every year she just wished for one thing: Not to lose anyone in the battle, and to meet someone who could sweep her off of her feet.
This year she felt so much happier, the second wish had come true; now that Faith was her girlfriend she felt complete... and two Slayers were better than one, which would make it easier for her first wish to come true.
Faith saved her in many ways, and Buffy felt that now it was her turn to do something for her anti-holidays-and-anti-shopping girl, so she said:
"Ok, babe, you don't have to go shopping with me."
"Really? Whoa, that was a bit too easy!"-Faith was a bit surprised, it was well known that her girlfriend could be pretty damn stubborn...
"Hey, are you saying I'm usually difficult?"
"Uh... can I use a Veto?"-Faith grinned and Buffy playfully punched her upper arm, and then caught her hand and whispered:
"Yeah, it's better you do, cause otherwise I might not let you even touch me tonight..."
Faith made a shocked face and said: "My lips are sealed!"
"Thought so..."-Buffy smiled, entangled her fingers with Faith's and squeezed a bit harder.
The Chosen Two or The Crazy About Each Other Two walked the rest of the way in a comfortable silence, thinking about the New Year ahead of them and how it's gonna be even a better one for them, even if the forces of darkness attack them more than ever.
Cause they were in love, and finally complete.
