Epilogue: 2048

It had finally happened. Sixteen years after the first barricades had risen in June 2032 the government had been conquered by the people. In cities throughout the country people flocked to the streets in celebration. But it was nothing to what happened in Washington DC. Thousands and thousands of people ran to the streets of the war torn streets of the capital. All of them heading in the direction of the capitol building. Amidst the mass of people three families in particular celebrated more than others. Marius and Cosette Pontmercy along with their fourteen year old son Jensen, Scott Combeferre with his wife Gina, their fifteen year old daughter Maya, and their eight year old son Kyle. Coufeyrac and Azelma were there too with their two year old twins Clara and Rose. The cause which their friends had given their lives for had finally been achieved.

Meanwhile at the massive barricade that surrounded the capitol building the spirits of those who had died also rejoiced as the cause they had given their own lives for became complete. On spirit looked over her shoulder and smiled at a young blond-haired man standing at the base of the barricade with a video camera. Gavroche Thenardier looked up at the barricade in shock. The girl smiled and winked at him before turning back around, her hand intertwining with the blond man beside her. He felt a tear run down his cheek at the sight of his long dead sister and friends. Wiping it away he went back to filming. When he looked up again the ghosts were gone. Like they had never been there in the first place and maybe they hadn't. Gavroche looked around, turned off his camera and began to climb up the barricade, ready to get a glimpse of a new tomorrow.
