Seattle Library

"Momma, why do we have to get up early today?"

"You have to get up because we are going to Seattle."

"Why?"

"To take Cole back to school and visit Heather."

"I still don't understand why they get to go to real school and my school is with Grandpa Edward. Even Levi gets to go to school on the reservation."

"Sarah, we have been over this a hundred times."

"Been over what a hundred times?"

"Why your daughter can't go to real school."

"I thought she was our daughter."

"Not when she is being all whiny in the morning like you, when you have to get up."

Jacob took over helping Sarah get up. She can do it on her own but she likes the help. I headed to the room next door to wake Embry up. As I reached the door I could hear his shower running. I walked on past the door, down the hall and around the corner. Cole's room was still quite and the door was shut with the lights off. I softly knocked on the door but there was no answer. Slowly opening the door I went inside, opening the drapes on the windows. Letting in the natural light from the sun that is just starting to rise.

"Cole it's time to wake up."

He moved slightly but not much. A human wouldn't have noticed he moved but I did. I gently perched myself on the edge of his bed. Leaning over him I kissed his forehead.

"Cole, wake up."

As he woke up he pulled me into a hug.

"Good morning."

"Good morning mom."

I smiled at him. Even though I have Sarah it always makes me feel special when the pack acts like that.

"It's time to get ready to head back to Seattle."

He let out a sigh.

"What? Don't you want to see Heather?"

"Yes, but you and the rest of my family aren't there."

"You guys always have the option to attend online."

"I know but Heather wants to be in the class room."

"Don't worry; it's only for two more years."

"But I want to change what I am studding."

"It will all be alright."

He pulled me into another hug.

"I'm going to make breakfast while you get ready."

"Will you pancakes and eggs?"

"Sure."

"Awesome."

By the time I finished making breakfast almost everyone in the house had joined us down stairs. That's one thing I learned over the years, if you want to wake the wolves make food. Most other methods of waking them up fail. The ones with imprints are easier to wake up than the ones without. It was nice having breakfast with the pack. Most of the ones here today are from Jake's pack but a few are from Sam's pack. I don't really know the two new wolves in Sam's pack. Jake had Jordan ban from the house, so I don't know him or the other new one.

After breakfast it was time to leave for Seattle. As I went to get in the passenger side of my Mercedes-Benz GL-Class, I was pulled into the back seat. I found myself in the very back set of seats smashed between Jake and Cole.

"Guys, why are we in the back? I thought you were driving Jake."

"Embry is driving and we are cuddling."

Both of them cuddled into me more.

"Jacob, you are squishing me and that means that you are squishing your baby."

He quickly moved and pulled me into his lap.

"Why wasn't I told about a baby?"

I turned to Jake wondering the same thing.

"What?"

"Did you not mail the announcements?"

The look on his face told me that he forgot. Cole reached over and punched his arm playfully.

"Thank you Cole."

"Daddy"

"Yes, Sarah?"

"How are you squishing the new baby? It isn't even here yet."

"The baby is in mommy."

"How?"

Jake paled at the questions coming out of our daughter's mouth. This was one of the very few subjects my dad was avoiding in her schooling.

"Well fist you have to meet the love of your life. He will be your best and closest friend in the world."

"Embry is my best friend."

"Yes he is, but babies come after you marry the love of your life."

"So, you have to be married first?"

I nodded my head at her. She was about to turn back to look out the window again when she stopped.

"But why aren't Aunt Leah and Collin married?"

"That is a question you have to ask Aunt Leah."

"Alright"

When we got to Seattle we went to the Seattle Library to meet Heather. She was doing some off campus studding today. I walked behind our small group stopping to look at books along the way. One book in particular caught my eye. It was old and the cover appeared to be real leather. None of the book was in English and the inside looked as though it had been hand written. I studied the words on the clover a little longer and realized that they were Italian. Of course it would be the one language that I didn't pay much attention to when my dad was teaching it to me. Someone tapped me on the shoulder, I expected it to be one of the guys but it was a little old lady.

"A woman of your great beauty should be warned. Beware of the rising of the Bambini Della Luna. I hope your Lupo can protect you. And that the others can protect the little girl."

I looked up to where Jake and Sarah were ahead of me. They hadn't stopped when I did. I turned back to the old lady but she was gone. I pulled out my phone and called my dad.

"Hey sweetheart, have you made it to Seattle?"

"Yes, about 20 minutes ago, but I have a question for you."

"Alright"

"What does Bambini Della Luna mean?"

"It means children of the moon, Why?"

"Lupo means wolf correct?"

"Yes, but…"

"I can't explain right now but I will."

I hung up the phone, taking the book with me I walked to catch up to the guys. When I was close enough I whispered low enough for just them to hear.

"Jacob, you and Embry need to take Sarah back out to the car."

Surprisingly they didn't ask questions they just did as I asked. I moved to walk next to Cole and continued to whisper.

"Get Heather and take her out to the car. I will meet everyone there."

I walked over to an empty corner of the library. When I was sure no one was watching and that there were no security cameras I took off running at vampire speed through the library. I am searching for the old lady that gave me the warning. As I passed the door I seen Cole and Heather heading out the door. Upon finding no sign of the lady I returned to the corner I started in. I walked over to where you check out books. I was surprised to find a young man at the counter.

"How may I help you miss?"

"See the thing is I really need this book but I won't be able to return it. So I will offer you one thousand dollars to buy the book."

"This is a library not a book store."

I put on my best pouty face that always works for the guys.

"Please, I'm begging you."

"I will have to talk to my manager."

"I'll give you two thousand dollars cash if you can just let me take the book now."

He nodded in agreement. I quickly pulled out my wallet and counted out the cash. Handing it over to him, I waiting just long enough for him to count the bills out himself. Racing to the door at human speed I pulled my phone out of my pocket because it had been ringing since my call to my dad.

"Renesmee, what is going on?"

I answered him in Portuguese that way no one around would hear and think I was crazy. And on the pulse side Sarah wouldn't understand it when I got back in the car. (Everything that is underlined is in Portuguese.)

"Alright, I will tell you right now. We were supposed to meet Heather at the library here in Seattle. As we were walking past the rows of books one caught my eye."

"What was the book about?"

"I'm not positive, cause to be completely honest I didn't pay much attention when you were teaching me Italian. I thought French, Spanish, Portuguese and Latin were enough. But the book appears to be about vampires and things like that."

"What does the book have to do with anything, it is probably made up stories."

"It is leather and hand written in Italian."

I had made it back to the car now. Pushing Embry aside I got in the driver's side and placed my phone in the clip on the dash.

"While I was holding the book an old lady came up behind me. She told me this: A woman of your great beauty should be warned. Beware of the rising of the children of the moon. I hope your wolf can protect you. And that the others can protect the girl. Somehow she knew that the guys are wolves and that Sarah is my daughter."

"Are you still at the library?"

"No we are in the car on our way home. I looked away from the lady for just a moment when she talked about Jake and Sarah. She disappeared then. I looked everywhere for her and couldn't find her."

"What about the book?"

"I gave the guy at the desk two thousand dollars to pay for the book."

"Renesmee Carlie Black tell me what is going on right now."

"Not now, Jacob."

The words came out as a hiss and I didn't mean them to.

"At least slow down, you are going 120 miles an hour and scaring our daughter."

I slowed down but only to 100. Jake placed his hand on my knee. After a moment he gently pulled my leg so my foot came off the gas. I could feel the tears building in my eyes as I looked up at him.

"Pull over Ness."

I did as he said, we were about half way back to La Push at this point. When we were completely stopped Jake got out of the car. He came around to my side and picked me up out of the seat. I grabbed my phone out of the clip on the dash. He took me a little ways away from the car.

"Renesmee, please tell me what is going on."

I placed my hand on his cheek and showed him what happened.

"Edward, what does this mean?"

"We don't know yet."

"How are we supposed to find out?"

"We will start by taking a look at the book once you get it home."

"Jacob, this is Carlisle. From what we can hear it sounds like Renesmee is panicking right now. I need you to calm her down. Too much stress could be harmful. Let either Embry or Cole drive and help her relax."

"Alright we will be home soon."

He picked me up and carried me back to the car after he turned off my phone. Embry and Cole were standing in front of the hood. He tossed the keys to Cole and then we got in the back together. I cuddled into his chest trying to relax. Embry started to question what was going on but Jake shook his head. Jacob held me close and buried as much of myself in his chest as I could. Placing my hand on his cheek I talked to him.

I'm sorry.

Why?

For stopping to look at the book.

It's alright babe.

What if we weren't in danger before I picked up the book?

We don't know that the book has anything to do with it yet.

It scares me that I can't do anything to protect my family right now.

Baby, you just need to relax right now. There are plenty of us. Someone would have to be completely insane to try to take on your family and the pack. Even the Volturi didn't want to fight us and there are more of us now than there were then.

Jacob, they aren't just my family they are yours as well.
