A/N I'm so sorry! Another short chapter! But I am immensely satisfied about where this one is going. So enjoy!
Alright. Stuck in a garbage chute of all places. Well, Martha thought, it could be worse. Oh yeah, that's right. It wasn't just any chute, it was the Master's, who was going to be a bit ticked if they ever got out of there. And there was the fact that she was with two crazy aliens who were currently hunched over eachother, trying to make a device to scale sheer walls. Yes. It couldn't worse.
"You're a genius!" The Doctor exclaimed to Hope, who was tinkering with a pair of gloves with little suction cups on them.
"So are you," she said, trying to sound modest, but betrayed by the smile creeping onto her face.
"So who's gonna go first?" Martha asked, attempting to walk towards them.
Before he could say anything, Hope said,"I made them! I get to go first!"
"Fine with me," her father said.
"Same here," Martha added.
"Just, try not to blow anything up, ok? That'd blow our cover."
Hope nodded, slipping the gloves over hands. "When I get up there I'll throw them down to you guys, ok?" They both nodded. She stuck the gloves onto the wall and began to ascend. When she reached the top, there was a small ledge she could kneel on before exiting the sludge-filled chute.
"Great! Now throw them down so we can come up!" Martha called up to her.
Hope shook her head. She sent a mental I'm sorry to them as she crawled through the sliding door, leaving the climbing gloves on the ledge, and one very confused Doctor, and one very confused actual doctor behind.
Meanwhile, Jack, Rose, and Alpha made their way down to the stasis room. Alpha led the way, and Jack stood in front of Rose, to try and ease the tension between them. Alpha stopped at one of the doors, and keyed something into it to make it open. "Identification code," he explained. "Tells the guards who is entering."
"But won't they know its you based on your code?" Rose asked.
"No it is based off of the generic foot soldier code and then a number, such as 7, or 42 at the end for IDing the person entering. Since I know that- wait here a moment." He ran inside and dragged out an unconscious soldier. "This guy is number 108, as far as the computer is concerned, he just exited and entered. No problem."
"But what about us? Won't it notice us entering?" Jack asked.
"Nah, the occupation of this room is always changing. We always would use only one code enter. It's not like it actually checks whose entering."
"This better work," he grumbled, entering the room. The three entered, and Jack was surprised at what he saw. Rows upon rows of stasis chambers, some with clones in them, others without. Except the chambers didn't look quite... normal. All of them were connected to the high arched ceiling by a thick snake of wires. The occupied ones had interesting headgear on, a helmet-like metal band stretching around their heads, covering their eyes. He walked up and peered inside one. "What're they wearing?" he asked.
"Those aren't exactly normal stasis chambers. They are a more perfected form of the temporal phase technology Hope was in. Time moves faster or slower in there as well as preserving them. The headset is running through mental and physical drills just like when they're awake. Muscle stimulants enhance their strength."
"That's... Amazing. So they're like the perfect army?" Rose asked, surprised at everything they were put through.
"Yup," Alpha said, popping the p.
Jack pointed to a console at the side of the room. "Let's get started."
Hope stepped out of the chute and looked around. She could make out just make out the shapes of an armchair with a strange looking pillow, table, and very extravagant four-poster bed at the far end of the room. Waiting for her eyes the adjust, she saw that the odd looking pillow was actually a person. That person got up. "Well Hope, I suppose you're here to kill me."
A/N If anyone has any ideas about what Jack, Alpha and Rose are going to do, I would love to here them. I've got none. Also if anyone is out there, drop me a review? The offer of free cookies still stands. :)
