"Okay Kayleigh, The paramedics are here.." I hear from behind me, at this point, I am sitting on the floor with my legs spread across the floor. I hear a groaning and an agonisingly noise coming from somewhere then I realize it's me.
"Come on Kay, lets get you up." The same voice says, I realize that Gary has become conscious and had rushed over to help me.
"I can't..." I seethe and grit my teeth. I open my once closed eyes and spot Jason standing a few inches away from me, Howard still holding him back. "Get that boy away from me!" I spit, looking Jason straight into his eyes
"I-" Jason begins, but stops as he realizes that anything he says isn't going to change anything. He takes a few steps back and looks at Howard.
"Just stay close to me, let the doctors do their work." Howard says to Jason
"but I want to be with-"
"Just shut- up Jason!" I snap. The doctors come in, they take one look and shake their head.
"looks like the baby is going to be born here." One female doctor says. "Is her midwife here?" She looks around the bar.
"Yes, I'm here." Sarah, my midwife says and takes a seat next to me.
"How did you..."
"Georgina called." she smiles and I look at Mark and Georgina who are close by
The doctor sticks her hand up my skirt making me jump and then nods her head to one of the other doctors. "We need to bring her to the hospital, NOW."
The atmosphere becomes tense and uneasy "What... what's happening?.. "I ask.
"The baby is breach, we need to get her to hospital." I over hear the doctor say to the midwife.
"What does that mean?" Jason asks after he runs over, They ignore him so he asks once more, in a more louder, angry tone. "WHAT DOES THAT MEAN?!"
"The baby will be coming out legs first instead of head, it's highly dangerous for the baby and the mother." Sarah says as I get onto the ambulance.
"Let me on." Jason says, barging past the crowd of people that are leaving the bar and onto the ambulance.
"NO." I snap. "I want Georgina with me, not you."
"But-"
"Don't act as if you care Jason, we all know you don't. So do us all a favour and fuck off!"
Georgina comes in the ambulance after telling Mark to meet at the hospital and Jason gets off.
"I do care..." Jason whispers after the ambulance doors close and it drives off. "I do CARE!" He cries and sinks his head into Howard's shoulder and Howard wraps and strong arm around him for comfort.
...
Georgina's p.o.v.
"you'll be fine!" I whisper into Kayleigh's ear. "the nurses will look after you and the midwife is here so everything will be fine!" I give Kayleigh's hand a tight squeeze.
"I don't want this baby..." Kayleigh's bottom lip quivers as she looks up at me and her eyes go watery.
"Shhh, just relax, everything will be fine."
The room is quiet as the nurses go into another room to get ready and the midwife sets up everything. The once quiet noise is no more as Jason bursts through the door, doctors running after him.
"Tell them idiots that I should be here since I'm the Dad."
"pfff, he's not the dad.." Kayleigh says and closes her eyes trying to ignore the immense pain.
I look at Jason and feel a great amount of pity for him, he was being a right prick for the last couple of months, but this, this isn't on.
"He is the father." I say, I know that Kayleigh is pissed at me for saying that, but J needs to be here.
The doctors let go of Jason and he walks next to me and kneels next to Kayleigh. "I'm so sorry I acted the way I did Kay, I promise to be by your side for the rest of this baby and our lives."
Kayleigh doesn't say anything.
"Okay Kayleigh, it's time to push love." Sarah says. Kayleigh grabs hold of my hand and holds tight.
"One, two, three, push!"
...
The baby is born, but without a cry.
"What's wrong with my baby!" Kayleigh wails as the doctors rush out the room with the small pink baby in there hands.
"Someone tell us!" Jason shrieks.
There is no reply from any of the nurses, doctors or the midwife as they run out the door, leaving us three alone.
"I feel woosey..." Kayleigh says, placing her left hand on her forehead.
"Oh my god!" I cry and cover my mouth with my hands. "Is... Is that normal?... "Kayleigh looks in-between her legs and shakes her head weakly.
"Get my midwife..."
Jason runs out, and a couple of minutes later, he arrives with Sarah.
Sarah takes one look at Kayleigh and then shakes her head. "Intensive bleeding coming from a new mother!" she shouts at one of the doctors across the hall, who runs over and brings Kayleigh away in the bed.
...
We all wait patiently in the waiting room, hoping, praying, that a doctor will come through the door telling us that the baby and Kayleigh will be fine. Seconds turned into minutes and minutes turned into hours, and still no news. We all look at Jason to see if he were Okay, and you could clearly see he wasn't.
His hands were cupped around his face and he rocked slightly back and forth on the arm chair, shaking his head ever so slightly mumbling: "It's my fault..." Over and over again.
I look to Mark and grab is hand, he then looks at me. "I'm sorry I said I wanted to have the baby, You right in saying not to." He says and rubs his thumb across my knuckles.
A doctor walks through the doors and looks at us all as we all raise from our seats slightly with anticipation.
"Well?..." Jason says and swallows hard.
The doctor shakes his head.
"It's not good news."
