Oh, he loved the look on Umbridge's face.
It was although someone had snuck expired peppermint flavor into her tea(which, to be honest, Fred and Feorge had done that very morning.).
Professor Mcgonagall, Hermione, and James seemed to be enjoying it as much as he was.
"Borrow Harry Potter for the rest of the day? Class just started."
"I apologize, we had no idea when the Hogwarts Express was coming in."
(Harry stifled a snort as he remembered Mcgonagall telling him it would be in sometime during the last class of the day, which just happened to be Umbridge's.)
James carefully folded up his drawing of Umbridge with Voldemort pointing a wand at her, and Hermione closed her book. Harry finished Lily's last letter, and placed it in his book. He really needed to get a muggle binder for pictures of kids, letters they wrote, and pictures they drew.
He decieded to order one that evening.
As Professor Mcgonagall placed down two excuse slips, turned on her heel, and walked out, Harry, Hermione, and James followed her out.
"Thanks Professor."
"Anytime Potter," she replied, staring daggers at Umbridge's door. If looks could kill, and go through doors, he had a feeling Umbridge would have been dead five times over. Maybe even ten.
they dropped their stuff off at griffindor tower, and headed back around to the Entrance Hall.
Draco Malfoy was there, leaning on the wall, staring into space. His eyes were a dim blue, nothing like the beautiful sky blue they had been when Avery was alive. He wondered where Ariel was.
speaking of sky blue the sky was a brilliant light one, with a small, puffy clouds everywhere.
The brilliant scarlet red of the Hogwarts Express pulled in, and a door near the front opened.
Lily's had grown down to her armpits(which he suspected was a charm) and had Hermione's bushy quality. Unusual, but still looked good on her. She smiled and jumped down from the train. "Mom!" She cried. "Dad! James!" She hugged Hermione first, throwing her arms around her mom's neck. Hermione squeezed her, and smiled.
When they broke away, Lily jumped and soared over James head and landed with her arms, this time, around Harry's neck. He held her up and spun. "Oh! I missed my little girl!" She giggled. James tapped on her foot. "Come on Lily! I'll race you to the front doors!"
There were two pops. James, not being able to apparatus as far, landed a quarter of the way away. (A.n. I couldn't think of a better way to word that without using numbers. He apparated 1/4 of the way from Harry and Hermione. He still has roughly 3/4 to go.) Lily appeared directly on the doorstep. James was shocked.
"I can apparate anywhere, I even took a trip to Russia!" She called.
Harry shook his head, grabbed Hermione's hand and they followed their kids inside, presumably to find Ariel.
They walked slowly, enjoying the others company and wondering how far inside James and Lily had gotten.
they had just made it to the front entrance when the six o'clock gong sounded in the distance, signaling dinner was to begin shortly. He pulled Hermione close and wrapped his arm around her.

all of their fellow Griffindors politely celebrated the return of Lily. Ginny, Ariel, Ron, Harriet, Neville, Fred, and George. They took up the middle of the table. James was still sore at Lily for beating him, but still joined in interrogating Lily on what she had learned.
by six-thirty, she had made the jello a multi-colored rainbow, vanished the plates, and levitated the roast above George, who tried fruitlessly to reach it.
She almost hit an owl as it brought Harry a package.
Since packages were usually deliver in the morning, a couple people looked over as Harry took the package and letter from it. Opening the letter, he found the order form he had filled out a while ago.
"What's that, Harry?" Hermione asked. He smiled. "I'll tell you later." She raised an eyebrow and he nodded at James and Lily. She nodded and let it go.

Hermione scowled as her book was unceremoniously yanked from her grip and set on the table.
"Harry. Why?"
He smirked, and grabbed her arm. Let's go for a walk, Hermione. James and Lily are all ready, and Ron and Harriet are waiting."
she sighed. "Alright, just let me get my coat."
He pulled his off and wrapped it around her. She rolled her eyes, but thanked him graciously. They walked out arm in arm. Ron and Harriet were waiting outside the portrait. James and Lily, they said, had gone on ahead. Ron and Harriet linked arms and together the four walked out, meeting James and Lily in the entrance hall.
The moon was bright, and James and Lily ran ahead, firing little, harmless lights at each other. None of the almost adults said a word. The grass was green, the night was young, and Harry felt no need to hurry. As October neared, it was a little chilly, but nothing a warming charm couldn't fix.
They stopped when James and Lily coaxed a baby unicorn from his ma, a golden little thing, with a small horn. While they sat down and talked to it calmingly, the four adults stood around.
"I love you Hermione." Harry said quietly.
"I love you too, Harry."
"I want to spend the rest of my days with you."
she looked up, a loving look in her eyes.
"Me too."
"Hermione…" he reached into his pocket and pulled out a small box, which he had recieved that night over dinner, which he'd ordered a few days before, and went down on one knee. "Will you marry me?"
even the unicorn foal seemed to hold its breath. Even the unicorn's mom, who had wandered into the area for her baby, stopped and stared at the ring.
"Yes."
