Well, HOORAY! I love you all so much! School's out for me, so I have all the time in the summer to write! Whoopee! Here comes another chapter: The Winter Star's Awakening!

~Disclaimer: Yeah, yeah, yeah. I don't own Frozen or ROTG, blah, blah, blah. HAPPY FLUFF AND SUNSHINE!~

"Anna, I think it's time that I return home."

"Home? This is your home!"

"No, Anna. Arendelle is your home. Kristoff's home. Els—Her home."

"Where are you going to go? What home?"

"Burgess. Burgess is my home."

"So you're just gonna leave us? Leave me and Kristoff? Arendelle? This kingdom needs you, Jack. You're their only reminder of Elsa."

"Don't say her name! Don't. It'll just bring more memories, more pain. If I stay in Arendelle, yes, I'll remind everyone of her. I'll bring their memories of her, the pain. Don't you see? I can't stay, Anna. I've brought enough pain to this kingdom, and I don't want to bring anymore. I just need to leave, Anna. I need to leave."

As Jack was turning to fly through the window, Anna grabbed Jack's shoulder and shoved him back to her.

"No, Jack. Don't leave. Think…think about what Elsa—I mean, she, would say. What she would think. I think, personally, I think that she would hope and beg you to stay, because you're the only person that could possibly calm her, bring fun into her life. She hasn't had eyes for anyone except you, Jack."

Jack shrugged Anna's hand away. "You make it sound as if she's still here."

And with that, he flew far away.

Not Burgess.

To the North Mountain.

He didn't even know why he was here. Her ice palace was eroding away each hour, the chandelier in ruins. Nobody had occupied the palace, for they were afraid that her angry spirit roamed throughout the icy corridors. He didn't believe that, though. He didn't believe that she was angry.

She was incredibly sad.

Well, he was sad. He wanted her to still be at his side. As Jack pushed the doors open, he felt a small chill run up his spine. The middle of the icy glass-like floor had melted into a small lake in front of him that seemed to connect with the large fjord across the palace. He kneeled down before the clear turquoise waters and breathed in through his nose. The water calmed him, relaxed all his stiff emotions. He was alone; nobody would see him like this. He let the tears that had been restrained flow. He let the memories begin, from the very beginning to the very end. He could still remember what she looked like, what she smelled like, what she felt like. It was all too clear, it stabbed him repeatedly. His tears splashed through the invisible film of the water, and mingled with the sweet clear liquid. Jack dipped his staff into the lake, and smiled when the water began to frost over on the edges. He let all his energy surge through the wood, but the frost did not cover the whole pond.

"Strange," he murmured to himself.

He tossed his staff aside and dived into the water. The small lake was surprisingly deep, as if somebody had carved deep into the mountain. Jack had never been fond of diving into water; it brought back a memory that was very painful to him. But because he was immortal, he could stay in the water for a longer amount of time, and he didn't have to breathe quite as often. The deeper he swam, the darker it was. Light seemed like a little dot in the distance to him, and he was almost to the very bottom of the lake. Suddenly, his eyes came across a small snowflake on the stony bottom of the lake. It wasn't a snowflake, they would've melted. It wasn't metal, because it didn't have a metallic gleam. The snowflake shimmered ice blue and scintillated brightly. Jack fingered the small thing, and his eyes widened at his realization.

It was one of Elsa—no, Her, enchanted snowflakes.

They would sparkle in her hair, the little particles plaited with her platinum blonde braid. Jack felt his breath disappear, and he struggled to the surface. He coughed up water and sucked in a heavy dose of oxygen. He hated swimming. He hated diving. He shivered convulsively from the chilly temperature of the water and let out the breath that he was holding in. The cold bothered him.

It bothered him.

It didn't help much that his skin was cold, and his body temperature was lower than the temperature of the water. But he dived into the lake once more. He needed to find out how that snowflake had appeared there. He remembered that she died in the clearing behind him, not in the palace. It didn't make sense. He reached the rocky bottom and held the snowflake in between two fingers. It sparked a tingling feeling in his chest, a feeling that he hadn't felt for so long.

It was Love.

The pretty snow particle twinkled in the dim light, and it reminded Jack of Her beautiful dark cerulean eyes. How can he stop loving her? Love was eternal, and its bond held through death and passing. He couldn't stop loving her, it was impossible. He had never met anyone quite like her, and it was strange to say that he liked that quality about her. She was quiet, but very open at the same time. She was broken, but very bonded. She was delicate, but very strong. Jack smiled at his thoughts, and traced the snowflake's exterior. It was unique. All snowflakes were unique, but she…she was different. She wasn't just unique. She was talented, and amazing at everything! He tucked the small particle in his hoodie pocket and clawed his way to the surface. When he reached the top of the lake, he kneeled on top of the ice in front of it. Jack took the small snowflake from his pocket and began to examine it closely. His breath hit the snowflake repeatedly, and it began to sparkle as Jack's frosty exhale danced around it.

He began to daydream again.

Jack remembered Her, she was too easy to remember, and he remembered her often. Jack sighed; there was no point in remembering his lover if he had to hide her name, her identity. He tucked his tears away as he began to say her name. He whispered her name under his breath, one, three, seven times. The snowflake seemed to glow each time he whispered, the name caressing the snowflake's delicate edges. He then began to remember. He remembered his precious Snowflake and all of the precious times they had together. He remembered their warm kisses and the electric touch each had as she held his face in her hands. He remembered how the world seemed to stop as they shared their first kiss, remembering how happy he felt. The memories faded, and Jack realized something.

He wasn't a Nothing anymore.

His eyes didn't have that blank and glassy stare, his mouth seemed to curve the slightest bit. Jack felt his heart grow the tiniest bit as he remembered one last time. Then, Jack placed the snowflake on the water again, and watched as it sunk back into the bottom of the lake. He touched the water with his fingers, enjoying the small ripples that splashed across his skin. He grabbed his staff, and smiled as it hummed with a new bright energy. In fact, it buzzed with so much energy, that it slipped out of Jack's grasp and slid right into the lake! Jack sighed and dove after it, his hands outstretched and ready to grab hold of his wooden staff. The staff plummeted through the water, leaving a trail of bubbles behind. Jack waved the bubbles away and sped towards his special object, oblivious to the wild blue glow that was slowly growing from the small snowflake at the bottom of the lake. As his staff sunk further towards it, the glow expanded. Jack caught his staff and prepared to shoot out of the water. The snowflake's glow brushed his staff, and a blue ribbon of energy began to wound its way around the staff's wood. Jack's eyes widened as the energy began to pulsate in his veins, racing across every cell in his immortal body. He felt his breath wash away, and he reached for air. His fingers pried at the jagged ice as he pulled himself up, only to be dragged back down by some unknown force. He breathed in quickly as he was pulled back into the glowing water.

The intense blue light surrounding him stabbed at his eyes, and the water felt colder by the minute. Suddenly, the water around him parted, and the liquid above him suspended. It was ice. Ice he didn't create. He stared at his hands, then at the snowflake. Could it be? Is that even…possible? His eyes sparkled with curiosity as he trailed his fingers down from the mysterious ice to the tiny snowflake below him. It began to grow and expand, its icy pattern stretching across the entire rocky bottom of the lake. The ice around him began to melt away, and water began to rush in, trying to fill the empty gaps. Jack pushed himself up towards the surface and laid himself down on the ice. He picked himself up and kneeled before the ice, eyes squinting to see what was happening below the deep depths of water. The snowflake was slowly floating towards the surface, ice growing near the edges of the lake.

The snowflake had reached the surface by the time his clothes had dried (which wasn't very long, considering his low body temperature could freeze water). The middle of the snowflake had an intricate pattern engraved in it. Jack felt drawn to it, he felt drawn to touch its center. He dropped his staff and brushed his fingers on the snowflake's patterned center, marveling at how smooth it felt. The engraved lines began to glow a bright blue, its curling veins filling with its icy blood. The wind around him howled in his ears, the blizzard around him intensifying. He couldn't believe it; it had to be her, it HAD to be. A flood of memories came rushing back to him.

Somehow, between the wind's cacophonous notes, Jack could hear soft breathing, weak breathing. He shouted her name, searched for her hidden figure in the blizzard. The wind slowed and so did the snow, and no longer was the blizzard raging in the palace. It began to rage near Arendelle, in the outskirts. The snowflake sunk into the water, and the lake began to glow a bright cerulean. The water receded, and a column of light burst out from the snowflake. A swirling mixture of lavender, ice blue, and a ribbon of other colors swirled in the beam of light. The colors looked so familiar, as if Jack had seen them before.

"The Winter Star," he breathed out.

It was his love. She was here. He flew towards the light, and marveled at the twirling colors.

"Reach for her."

Jack's eyes widened. Who said that?

"In the light."

It was a woman's voice. It echoed through the room, a regal tone to her voice keeping him from questioning her. Jack slowly inched his hand into the light, expecting a white hot burning feeling to erupt in his arm. To his surprise, all he felt was a chilly breeze and a numbing buzz in his veins. He moved his hand around, trying to feel for Elsa.

"Say something. Maybe she will appear. Say it out of the power of your heart."

Jack gulped down his anxiety, and took in a breath or two. "Snowflake? Can…can you hear me? It's Jack. I…I love you. Are…are you there?"

"Do not feel timid, she will understand when you fully apply your heart to your words."

He took another breath and closed his eyes. "Snowflake, if you can hear me, I want you to know that…that I love you. A lot. And I miss you so much, more than you could possibly imagine. Anna misses you, so does Olaf and Kristoff. The people of Arendelle miss you too. You've been gone for three years, and every year…every year I feel like I don't belong. I feel like I don't belong in this world if you're not here with me. You were the only person that I loved, other than my sister, that I cared so deeply for. I miss your eyes, the way the sparkle when you're excited. I miss how your face always flushes bright red when I touch you, or kiss you, or say something that embarrasses you because you know I love you. I miss your silly smiles and your beautiful laughter, I miss your voice in general. I miss the warmth of your touch, even if your body temperature is as low as mine. I miss your lips, the gentle feel of them, the slight curve of your mouth as I close in the remaining space between us. I guess what I'm trying to say is that…I miss you, I really do. I know that you tell me not to beat myself up for everything I mess up, but I have to. I'm your Guardian, I'm supposed to protect you. I just…I can't imagine a life without you, and here I am, without you in my arms, without your company. `

"Last year, I tried to end myself by falling out of the sky. You would've scolded me and probably would've slapped me, but I wanted to see you, I wanted to find you in my arms. This family took care of me, and they tended to my wounds. I met their little girl, her name was Kari. She believed in me, and she reminded me of you. I told her about you, the Winter Star, the brightest and most beautiful star in the sky. She asked me if I knew this star. I told her I did, and I loved her very much.

"Today I told Anna that I was going to leave Arendelle and go back to Burgess. I was going to leave you. I ended up coming here, somewhere that brought back the most painful of memories. The memories were painful because…because they were all about you. You, my precious Queen, my lover that would never enter my arms again. But when I thought about you in this place, I felt…happy. It cleared the gray from my eyes, it brought back the smile. Even though we've only met for a couple weeks, I've never felt closer with anyone in my whole entire life. Elsa…" he gulped as he said her name, the rush of saying her name dancing upon his tongue.

"…I love you."

The column of light trembled and the snowflake below it began to emit a chilly fog that surrounded him and the light. The blizzard outside dissipated, and the sun began to shine. Love will thaw.

"Your heart is truthful, it is sincere. Your feelings for her are very strong, she feels the same amount of passion for you. Your words strike great emotion in the one you speak about. The Moon sends her back to the ground, not mortal, but immortal. She is not a Guardian like you, but she is a very powerful being like yourself. Treat her with care, for she is still very delicate."

"She's strong."

"Yes, she is. She will remember everything that happened when she was still mortal. Both you and your lover's blood is cold, but your hearts are very warm. This love between the both of you is very beautiful." Jack could feel the presence of the voice fade away.

"Thank you for your kind words. Before you leave, may I ask who you are? You can't be the voice of my beloved, I know that much."

The voice chuckled. "No, I am not your lover's, but I am part of her bloodline. Let me just put this simply: Keep my daughter safe." And with that, the voice faded.

Jack's eyes bugged. Daughter? He shook his head and laughed. Yes, I will keep her safe. The column of light began to morph into a feminine figure. She was lying on her back, her stomach-length hair drifting aimlessly in the gentle wind. The train on her dress dropped to the floor, and the light that was surrounding her vanished.

Platinum blonde hair.

He remembered her signature braid.

Ice blue dress that clung to her beautiful figure.

He remembered the way she used her powers to form her gown.

Pale skin that glowed with health.

The mark was still there on her neck, glowing a gentle glacier blue, then fading into her skin.

Dark rose lips.

His heart swelled.

It was his Snowflake.

And she was falling.

Jack flew to her as fast as he could, his arms outstretched and ready to catch her limp body. She landed in his arms, her lavender eyelids covering her dark cerulean eyes. He couldn't believe it. It was his Snowflake, his Elsie.

"Elsa," he whispered, breathless.

Her long eyelashes trembled, and she opened her eyes. She stared at Jack, her eyes never leaving his.

"I thought you understood what I meant when I told you to never say that you didn't want to live a life without me," she croaked.

Jack laughed, tears in his eyes. "It's really you."

Elsa gave him a brilliant smile and wrapped her arms around his neck in a tight embrace. "Yeah, it's good to be back."

You're smiling and celebrating silently, aren't you? Yay, happiness and fluff!
