School Life Chapter 29- A Family Once More?
So I have a couple chapters written out already and I hope to upload a new one every day for the next few days. Also, I have the rest of the chapters all figured out, which means the story is coming to an end in like fifteen chapters give or take. As always, I live for reviews so leave one for me and enjoy.
…
Lisanna and Lucy turned away, blushes on their faces as the dragon scrambled to cover himself with his wife's jacket.
"Dad!" Natsu called as he hugged his father.
"I knew I could trust you find your mom," the red head said as he gave his son a quick hug.
Lydia let out a chuckle at her seeing her husband in such a manner. "I remember your hair being better kept," the woman teased.
Igneel grinned, pushing Natsu playfully to the side as he embraced his wife. "I've missed you so much," he whispered as he held her tight.
"And I you," the woman said kissing him on the lips.
"Ewww!" Natsu whined happily.
"Shut it short stack," Igneel growled lovingly at his son before kissing his wife again.
"Family hug!" Natsu called suddenly before squeezing in between his parents, disrupting their almost make out scene.
Lisanna and the others smiled at seeing the small family together and laughing again like time had not separated them.
"I wonder what they'll being doing tonight, to celebrate the reunion," Caleb joked.
"Oh God," Lucy said. "I'm sleeping in the car."
"Me too," Lisanna said trying to keep the image out of her mind.
"There room for me too?" Caleb asked.
"You might have to snuggle a bit with Lucy, but yeah," Lisanna teased, elbowing Lucy playfully in the ribs.
Lucy's face went red immediately and turned even redder when Caleb answered with "I'm okay with that."
…
"Natsu, Caleb? Where are you two at?" Lydia called the next morning.
"I think the kids slept in the car last night," Igneel said as he walked into the kitchen.
"Why would they do that?" Lydia asked. "And good thing I picked up some clothes for you awhile back," she noted, looking at the baggy sweatpants and plain t shirt her husband wore.
"Well, we weren't exactly quiet last night," Igneel grinned as he kissed his wife good morning. "Why do you need to see the boys anyway?"
"We don't have much food, so I was going to make them come with me to town so they can carry the bags back," Lydia answered, placing her hands on her husband's chest as she kissed him again.
"I'll go wake them then," Igneel said as he slipped into the boots Lydia bought him.
Natsu shot up immediately, whacking his head on the ceiling when he heard the tapping on the glass.
Lisanna, who had been leaning against Natsu, fell forward, but luckily woke before she hit her head on the arm rest between the driver and passenger seat.
"What's going on?" she asked groggily as she rubbed her eyes.
"Dad's here," Natsu said as he opened the door, setting off the car alarm.
Igneel watched, amused, as Natsu scrambled for the keys, Lisanna covered her ears, Caleb shoot up, hitting his head as well as he let out a stream of colorful curses, and as Lucy let out a startled cry.
"Natsu!" Caleb yelled, covering his ears.
"I'm working on it!" Natsu snapped as he found the keys and mashed down the alarm button.
"Finally," Caleb swore as he took his hands off his ears.
"Well, now that you are all woken up, Natsu, Caleb, Lydia wants to see you," Igneel said before turning back to the house, chuckling.
"I wonder what for?" Lucy asked.
"Probably to go grocery shopping," Caleb said as he tried to stretch his long arms. "We were running low on food before we had an extra four mouths to feed, and Happy."
"Oh," Natsu said, somewhat unhappily.
"Why so bummed?" Lucy asked.
"Mom always insisted on going grocery shopping instead of sending a servant to do it, and she always took me with her. She takes forever," Natsu whined, stressing the word forever.
"She still does," Caleb said as he climbed over Lucy to get out.
"You'll survive. Just think of it as a chance to catch up with her," Lisanna said, giving her boyfriend a kiss.
"And to find out if Caleb likes me," Lucy chipped in as she followed Lisanna out of the car and toward the house.
While, Lydia, Caleb, Natsu, and Happy were out shopping, Igneel and the girls sat at home, bored and awkwardly.
"I'm going to call Levy," Lisanna said suddenly, leaving Lucy and Igneel alone, much to the blonde's displeasure.
…
"Hey, Levy," Lisanna said. This time it was Saturday so she was sure Levy wasn't in class.
"Hold up, she's in the bathroom taking a shower," came a gruff reply.
"Gajeel?" Lisanna asked in surprise. "What are you doing with Levy so early?"
"I spent the night here," Gajeel answered nonchalantly.
"Oh," was all Lisanna could say.
"Oi, Shrimp, calm down," Lisanna heard Gajeel yell.
"Lis, is that you?" Levy asked.
"Yeah, it's me. Weren't you showering?"
"I heard my phone go off, so I rushed out hoping it would be you," Levy said.
"Please tell me you at least have a towel on," Lisanna asked.
"Yes, I do. Stop that Gajeel," Lisanna heard followed by a hand smacking a hand. "We didn't do anything serious, I promise," Levy added.
"Whatever, as long as it stays on your side of the room," the silver haired girl teased.
Lisanna heard Gajeel's laugh in the background, and another smack. "So what's going on? Did you find Natsu's mom?"
"Yeah, we found her. She was able to bring Igneel back too."
"Bring him back? What happened?" Levy demanded.
"I will tell everything when I get back. But I don't know when that will be. I have no idea how long we will be staying here, honestly."
"Okay," the bookworm said with some sadness.
Trying to change the subject and cheer he friend up, "So, I take it all problems in your relationship have been ironed out."
"They have, although there is still some training I have to do with him. But now you aren't the only one with a pet dragon," Levy teased, casting a quick glance over at Gajeel who let out a snort of disagreement.
"Lucky us, we're moving up the social ladder," Lisanna said jokingly.
"I know, maybe we will be the ones running the school by senior year," the bluenette said.
"Oh, Lydia and the boys are back from grocery shopping, I gotta go. I should be back by the end of the week, but no promises," Lisanna said as she spotted Natsu emerge through the trees laden down with bags.
…
"So what are we going to do now?" Natsu asked at dinner. "Are you still not coming back home?"
"No, I have to stay here. Believe it or not, this town is where all the gossip and rumors gather. If Raven Tail pops up, I'll hear about it quicker here than in Magnolia," Lydia answered. "I'm sorry sweetheart," the mother added when she saw her son's sad look.
"I understand," Natsu answered, even though he wasn't happy with the answer.
"I'm staying here as well," Igneel said. "The company is doing fine without me so I'd rather spend some time here before heading back in a week or so," the red head said, taking a sip of his beer.
"But," Lydia said before Natsu could look any sadder. "Caleb will be going back with you."
"What?" Caleb croaked out as he tried not to choke on his food. "When was this decided?"
"This morning," Lydia answered. "You are almost eighteen, you should be in a high school, making friends. Besides, you will learn more magic there. Don't even try and refuse me," Lydia added when she saw the look on Caleb's face. "I've already called the principal and told him that he should not only expect his missing students to return, but to expect an extra one as well."
Caleb put on his angry face as he shoveled food into his mouth, but secretly he was a bit happy to get to be with people closer to his own age, especially Lucy.
"It's going to be hard, getting use to school after all this time," Lucy said.
"Don't worry Lucy, we'll help," Lisanna smiled, understanding the worry the blonde must be feeling.
…
"We'll be arriving in Magnolia in fifteen minutes," the intercom announced startling Caleb awake.
"What's going on?" the older teen asked as he rubbed the dried drool of his chin unashamed.
"We're almost to Magnolia," Lucy giggled. "You might want to fix your hair."
The black haired boy ran his fingers through his short, black hair. "It's been awhile since I've been to school," he said to no one in particular.
"Don't worry, my friend is really smart, she can catch you up in no time," Lisanna said running her fingers through Natsu's hair. "I can't wait to see everyone again."
…
"I don't believe this," Natsu said, his teeth clenched as she stared up at the giant symbol painted on the school's main building.
"Raven Tail," Caleb growled.
"What happened here?" Lucy asked looking around for someone.
"Lis!" Levy yelled as she ran to her best friend, hugging her fiercely.
"Levy!" the Take Over mage called back, tightening the hug. "What's going on? When did this happen?"
"Last night. Raven Tail showed up in town two days ago. The rumors say their leader, Ivan, is the principal's disowned son and that he showed up to declare war on his father and us," Levy answered, looking at the large black symbol.
