Ally's P.O.V.
"Ready?"
Ally felt Austin take a deep breath of air, and then let it go slowly. He intertwined his fingers with hers, and stared determinedly at the door of the orphanage. After another slight hesitation, he nodded.
"As long as we do this together," He smiled slightly, which made Ally smile widely. She squeezed his hand, as he reached with the other to open the door.
As Ally stepped through that fateful doorframe, millions of tiny memories flooded her head, illuminating her smile more. How many times had she crossed this threshold over winter break? How many times had that simple decision changed her life? Definitely way too many to count.
Together, Austin and Ally slowly entered the orphanage. Austin was radiating how tense he was, and she squeezed his hand again to remind him that she was there for him. He smiled at her gratefully, his shoulders loosening tremendously.
Laughter echoed off the walls, a sound that made Ally's heart leap. The orphanage had been deprived of that sound for much too long. Slowly, austin and Ally climbed the familiar stairs up to the second level.
The bedroom door was closed, and Ally reached out to open it. austin's hand caught her wrist centimeters away. She looked at him questioningly, only to see the conflict dance across his face. He shut his eyes tight.
"What if they hate me Ally?" He whispered.
Ally felt her heart go out to Austin, and she wrapped him in a tight hug. He hugged her back just as quickly, burying his face in her hair. "No one can hate you Austin. They might be mad at first, and confused, but they'd never hate you."
"How do you know?" His voice sounded so vulnerable, Ally's heart cracked slightly. She pulled away, and he looked at the ground, but Ally raised his face sothat his eyes met hers.
"I know because I don't hate you."
Those words seemed to sp[ark the tiniest light in his eyes. It flashed for a moment, as a small smile found it's way across his face. He nodded slowly, before opening the door.
Time seemed to halt to a stop, as seven pairs of curious eyes met theirs. the toy cars and barbie dolls stopped moving, and turned still in the sshocked kids hands. They stared unwavered, unsure of what to do.
Ally could feel Austin tense again, and for a moment, panick flared in her too, as she searched the kids blank faces for any sign of welcome. She was about to give up hope, when the last person she expected to stand did.
The other children watched her movements, as she walked closer, keeping her eyes trained on Austin. She could feel Austin bracing himself for a hit, a slap, or something that he deservered. But Thalia surprised them both by wrapping him in a hug.
Ally watched Austin's eyes go wide as he processed what was happening, befofe he sunk to his knees, closed his eyes, and hugged the little girl back. Tears prickled Ally's eyes as she watched the scene, and she smiled before joining the hug. That seemed to break the other kids out of their trance as they flooded Austin with hugs. Ally felt her heart burst out of her chest as she watched Austin cry with tears of joy.
"Hey Kiddos," His voice cracked.
"You came," Thalia buried her face into Austin's neck.
"{I never wanted to leave," Austin admitted quietly.
"Are you going to stay?" Keenan and Kainoah askjed, their eyes wide with hope. Austin smiled and ruffled their hair affectionately. He looked up, and caught Ally's eye. The children around him buzzed with anticipation, and even Ally wanted to hear his answer although she already knew it. Austin smiled as though he had won a million bucks.
"Always," He promised.
The End!
Oh My Goodness.
I honestly can't believe this story is done after nine months. I'm happy, but kind of sad as well. It's been such a good experience for me. Thank you guys for being so supportive. Can you believe that this is the first Austin and Ally fanfic I ever wrote? Crazy huh? Kind of nostalgic that I've finished it, but I'm really proud too.
Just for those who were curious, that song I used in the last chapter was Truly Madly Deeply by 1D.
I'd just like to give a shout-out to some people. Lilyfanficlover, Jackie is Grey, and Leona31600, your reviews really made my day. For everyone who feels that I might be able to make it as an author one day, you have no idea how much that means to me. And for those who I've convinced to read Percy Jackson, you have no idea how happy it makes me for people to want to read that series because of me.
Everyone, you honestly are the reason I was able to get through the thick and thin and finish this story. All those moments when I got told by my favourite fanfic authors that they liked this, blew me away. Everytime you guys reviewed, astounded me. And you all literally blew me away by helping me get over 1000 reviews. YOU guys are the reason this story turned out so well, and I hope you guys never forget it.
As I said, I'm quite sad to be done this story. But I hope to make the sequel just as good. I'm going to try and post it ASAP, so keep a look out for it. I'll also just post an update on this story when it's up, telling you guys the title ande all.
Thank you so much for everything.
There's no way I could have made it without you.
