Now we're cooking with fire. I think. I don't have much else to say up here. So I'll just say my usual: Thank you so much for the reviews and for reading. It keeps me inspired. Well, onwards!

Saturday just wasn't Brittany's day. It began with a very rough morning shift at her job. The store was having a huge sale and the place had been packed. Then, Brittany was forced to go out for a bit of shopping with her sisters and Miss Miller. Normally, she would have been excited about shopping, but Miss Miller always brought them to discount stores, although Brittany really couldn't blame her for that. Once she was home, Brittany allowed herself to fume over everything that had happened.

Her main focus was that sexist, controlling jerk, Alvin Seville. Just because Brittany pushed Alvin into taking some preventative measures against Simon didn't mean that everything was her fault. He was worried about Simon, too, and he did admit that something had to be done. It wasn't like she was the only one who thought that Simon shot that cop!

But Alvin just couldn't see reason. He just couldn't let it go and move on. He needed to keep on harping about how it was all Brittany's fault that the boys weren't as close as they used to be. And there was no way that Brittany was just going to let him walk all over her. She had to stand her ground against him, and if he wanted to play that way, then she was all too willing to play as well. Especially since he was so obviously letting his emotions get in the way of his decisions.

They needed to go back out on the streets. Brittany just kept on thinking of that one little girl that she and her sisters saved. How many more of those little girls were out there every night, being put in danger? And Alvin wanted to wait until Simon wasn't grounded. Sure, Alvin said that they were all waiting for the heat to die down, but actually, he wanted Simon to go out there with them. That was the only reason that Alvin wanted to wait.

Simon being out with them as they hunted didn't sit well with Brittany. People don't instantly change, and especially overnight. Just because he didn't pull the trigger doesn't mean he's completely normal. He hasn't given reason for what he did to Bobby in school, and Simon didn't tell anyone what was going on with him during that time at the abandoned gas station. He was still a loose cannon. He was just reloading at the moment.

She threw herself onto her bed and let out a frustrated groan. Alvin was just so blind to his brothers that he still can't see just how much danger Simon was to everyone. Eleanor, she was sure, shared her opinion about Simon. But Jeanette was still too wrapped up in her little crush on the guy to see him for what he truly is. And it seemed as if Jeanette was deliberately disobeying her by going near Simon when Brittany and Eleanor weren't around.

Brittany interrupted her thoughts with another. She wondered what Theodore thought of Simon. Simon and Theodore both didn't say anything in regards to what Alvin had decided. Brittany really didn't care about what Simon thought. But Theodore was another matter entirely. He was beginning to take a stand against his brothers when he felt the need to. Perhaps she could use him.

It seemed dirty to think about using people. But Brittany couldn't just stand there and let Alvin make choices that weren't helping anyone but Simon. She needed to make the choices now that the leader had stopped using his head and was instead using his heart. Yes, she would rather listen to her heart, but a leader needed to make clear, decisive choices and direct those around them. A leader needed to be strong and be ready for consequences. Alvin clearly was shying away from anything that would lead to consequences. Brittany nodded her head. She needed to take control. She just felt a little guilty about possibly doing it.

Her phone buzzed in her hand and she jumped a little, forgetting that she was holding it. She looked at the screen to see that she had a text from Madison. Brittany tossed the phone away from her on her bed and laid there. She couldn't think of any reason as to why Madison would be texting her while she was out on a date with Alvin, unless Madison was going to boast about it. If that was the case, then Brittany could care less to read what her friend had to say.

If Alvin was just going to go on a date with Madison, why did he go to such great lengths to ask her out on a date? Brittany's heart ached. She really did have a pretty fun time with him, and he seemed as if he was enjoying himself too, even though he denied it. Outside of school and hunting, he wasn't as sexist as he seemed and he praised her when they fought that guy. And that kiss…

Brittany wasn't the hopeless romantic that Jeanette was, but she felt a spark in that kiss. It started out as a challenge, but ended so sweet. The heat and passion of it just blew her away. And it was all because of Alvin. But he must have not felt the same. He was out there with Madison right now, showing her a great time and probably giving her those very same kisses. And Madison was too much of an airhead to really understand just how wonderful they were.

She shook her head. Brittany couldn't let Alvin get the best of her, or Madison. No one could bring Brittany to her knees. If anyone was going to bow, it was going to be Alvin. Even though he was probably thinking of only Madison while Brittany was completely caught up in thinking about him.

Her hand shot out and she grabbed her phone. Her thumbs moved quickly as she opened up her text messages to read exactly what Madison wrote her. If it was a boast, she was going to have some very great things to say to her when she saw her on Monday.

'Katie is having a movie night tonight. Want to come with me? :)'

Brittany read and re-read the message. She kept on asking herself if maybe the date was over or if Madison sent the text to the wrong person. Alvin was supposed to be on a date with her. It didn't make sense that she would be asking Brittany to go to a movie night. Brittany blinked a few times and text back her reply.

'I thought you had a date tonight.' It only took a few moments for Madison to respond back.

'No. Do you want to come with me?'

Alvin had lied to her. She could feel the anger surging through her as she kept on remembering how Alvin told her he had a date. He knew he didn't, but he told her anyway. He had just changed the name of the game, and she wasn't okay with his deceit. She replied back with a 'no'.

Any guilt that she was feeling about taking away leadership from Alvin quickly went away. He was playing with everyone. He could blame her as much as he wanted, but the pure fact of the matter was that everything escalated because of him and his little games. Her phone vibrated again and she looked to see that the devil himself had just sent her a text. She opened it up.

'Having a great time with Madison. She's a good kisser.'

As she stared at the phone, she clenched her fist and began to grind her teeth. A plan was forming in her mind about how to get control of everything away from that asshole. If she played her cards right, it wouldn't take very long at all.

"Let me try it again," Jeanette spoke quietly, positioning herself. She did a couple of jabs in the air before looking over at Eleanor and Theodore. The two beamed at her. Brittany had to smile as well. Jeanette was getting a lot better with the fighting, although it seemed like the best place for her was still behind that laptop.

The training session was going over pretty well. Only Theodore had showed up out of the three boys. He said that Alvin couldn't come because Dave was having him help out with some sort of home improvement project. Of course, Simon couldn't show up. And that made Brittany happy. Especially since all the principle people that she needed for her little uprising were present. It was almost time to make her move.

Jeanette smiled happily to herself before jabbing at the air again. It was then that Brittany heard Theodore say that he needed to go home. She cleared her throat and approached Theodore. "I was wondering if you agree with Alvin about laying low."

Theodore looked at Brittany, never losing his smile. "I never thought anything about it."

"Well, what do you think of it now?" Brittany had to get Theodore to go along with her plan first. Eleanor was going to be easy, and Jeanette really didn't argue. Theodore was going to be the one she really needed to feel out.

She watched as he furrowed his eyebrows and thought. After a moment, he looked back at her. "Yea, I'm for it."

"You don't think that Alvin is making a wrong decision?" This might be a little bit of a snag in her plan. Theodore still followed Alvin, it seemed like. She just needed to be persuasive without revealing her plan before she could rely on him.

"I want to go back out there. But Alvin makes good choices and the community really isn't supporting us right now."

"What I don't get," Brittany began slowly and innocently, "is why we can't get the community back on our side with our actions."

Theodore nodded his head. "I know. But we learned the hard way that you need to let things die down before you can safely go out again. In one of our last towns, we made them all mad at us and the cops were being called on us all the time."

"What did you do?" Eleanor was a little curious.

"Well," Theodore began slowly. "We ended up causing a couple thousand dollars of damage to the town park."

The girls weren't sure whether they should ask for more details or just let it be. Brittany sighed and looked off to the side of the abandoned building that they were in. "But this isn't your old town," she began. "I think we need to get back out there. And everyone knows that we didn't do anything to that cop."

"Yea, they know Simon didn't shoot, but they also know that we caused a couple of big fights with some gangs. One that caused the cop to get shot. Yea, I'm with Alvin on this one."

Brittany was unsure of what she needed to do. Theodore wouldn't join her side without her truly convincing him. And it seemed like she would have to reveal every little flaw that Alvin had just to do it. She needed Theodore on her side. It was three against three. No, it was three against two. Simon was house bound for at least a week. Brittany smiled. She didn't need Theodore.

"Thanks, Theodore. I was just curious." Brittany smiled as genuinely as she could. Theodore returned it. Soon, Theodore left and Brittany was left with her sisters. She watched as the two began to get their coats on. She was going to start changing the community, and she was not going to listen to a Seville anymore.

"Girls?" Brittany demanded their attention. Both Eleanor and Jeanette stopped to look at Brittany after hearing her tone of voice. "We're hunting tonight."

Both Jeanette and Eleanor looked at Brittany in surprise. "We told them we wouldn't." Jeanette broke the silence, looking over at Eleanor.

"Alvin is only considering Simon with his recent orders. We need to think of the people in our city. They need help and we are the ones that give it to them."

"They don't want our help right now, Brittany." Eleanor finished putting on her coat, but kept her gaze on Brittany.

"Not all of them. Remember that little girl that we saved? How many more of those little girls are we letting get hurt all because we're a little afraid of the cops? What we do is for their benefit, regardless of the risk. Alvin and them, they forgot about that. We're going hunting."

"We can't save anyone if we're in jail."

"And we gave them our word!" Jeanette was really stuck on the promise and Brittany was getting a little annoyed. It should have been easier than this.

"They lie to us, and you know it. They keep things from us, withhold information, especially about Simon. We don't have as great a say in our group activities as they would like us to think." Brittany began to remember all the times they were commanded to do something. Some of those instances, she wished she had more of a say. "They backed out on the deal first. And then we're all put on the sideline because Alvin decides to do that. They don't know everything about everything, so how do they know how our own neighborhood would react if we went out? They wouldn't. Our city isn't like that one Theodore told us about. There are a lot of good people here, who just want things to be safe."

"Well, when you put it like that," Jeanette muttered softly, her eyes looking at her sneakers. Brittany could see Jeanette joining her. But it was Eleanor who was putting up the fight. She looked at the shortest Miller.

Eleanor was lost in thought. But it wasn't for long. She gave a big sigh. "I'm in." Brittany smiled. They were going hunting.

The girls stood in an alley, facing out on to a deserted street. Jeanette was squinting due to the contacts that she was wearing behind her aviators. Her sisters were wearing jeans and their helmets, but since Jeanette didn't have one, she had to use the old costume. She felt nervous being back out on the streets. She was so used to being behind the computer that she forgot how the adrenaline surged when hunting.

"Let's go," a synthesized voice rang out. Jeanette assumed that it was Bee, as Bee was the first one to start moving to the street. Kicks followed after her and Jeanette moved to bring up the rear. The girls walked the streets, listening for any signals for help. But there was nothing.

After about two hours, the three still hadn't come across any type of crime being committed. It was a little strange, since the city always had some sort of activity going on. Bee was growing frustrated, but not as much as she normally would be. Jeanette knew that her sister just wanted to be patrolling the streets, even if they didn't get into a fight.

It was strange that Brittany was so determined to start hunting. Jeanette figured that it was the addiction that she developed. And in the hours before the girls started to hunt, Jeanette noticed that her two sisters had come to an agreement about something. But they refused to tell Jeanette what it was at the time. Jeanette didn't like that they were keeping secrets from her, but she respected it. Everyone had secrets.

Just then, Jeanette became aware of something against her leg and before she could react, a metal clanging sound rang out through the night. She looked around to see that she had knocked over a metal garbage can. "Are you okay, Angel?" a voice asked. Jeanette looked up to see Kicks in front of the garbage can, picking it up. Bee was further away, her posture being one of annoyance. Jeanette nodded her head.

"Who's out there!" a woman's voice screeched out from above them. The girls looked up to see a woman's head hanging out of a window, peering into the darkness. She gave them one look before pulling her head back inside.

The three girls had tensed up at being spotted, but then relaxed. Bee walked over to her sisters. "I told you that things would be fine."

Jeanette nodded and it seemed like Kicks was about to reply when they heard a familiar sound coming their way. The three looked at each other before running off. They could hear that woman's voice echoing behind them as they ran away from the sirens. "That way! They went that way!"

Well, that's all I got for now. See, I told you it would pick up a bit. I'm super happy about that. And I had to leave a cliffhanger. Until next time!
