She is not getting in

Later that day, all the regular people had come, Eric and Calleigh were playing a card game with Celesta and Julia. Yelina was sitting with Horatio and Kyle. Julia was about to go home to get some rest when Horatio became restless again. As Julia walked past Horatio's room she saw the movements in his legs and arms. Yelina and Kyle had seen them to, they were each holding one of Horatio's hands. Julia could see her son trying to talk to Yelina who kept shaking her head Julia knew what was being sad inside and she saw Kyle get frustrated, so she decided to step in. Celesta, Eric and Calleigh had also noticed the commotion and where watching through the glass windows. Julia saw Celesta's colour drain and her eyes fill, her hands pressed hard against the glass. In that moment Julia knew she would do anything to get Celesta in the room. She turned towards Yelina and heard her say: "No, she can't come in, she is not family and I don't trust her." Yelina turned to the restless Horatio. "Please calm down, Horatio, you have to rest."

"Angel." Horatio whispered and Julia and Kyle looked at each other. Kyle standing on Horatio's other side looked over him at Yelina and calmly said: "He wants her. He want Celesta, she is his angle." Yelina's head shot up, Julia could see the anger, frustration and pain in her eyes and she realised then that this was about more than just letting Celesta in the rom. Yelina spoke up in anger, pointing her finger at Celesta outside the room: "She is his angel all right, she is going to take him away from me." There was a very short silence before Yelina amended: "From us." The slip of the tongue told Julia enough. It seemed like Kyle hadn't noticed it, he was looking at Horatio again, who only seemed to get more agitated, he was starting to thrash around. "Dad, please calm down, we'll get your Angel." Kyle said, feeling his tears starting to run down his cheeks. "Mom, please get Celesta." Julia just watched Yelina, she was only getting angry. "No don't you dare. She is not getting in here. She's not family. If you do that I'll make sure you don't get in. I don't care whether or not your Kyle's guardian. I'll have you thrown out, you're not family anyway. She's not getting in." Yelina almost shouted, still pointing at Celesta. Julia looked sideways and saw Celesta's eyes trained on Horatio, she apparently could barely stand, being held up by Eric and Calleigh. Julia felt for Celesta, she could see the pain she was feeling. As Julia watched her she saw Celesta's eyes widen and at that moment she heard her son say: "Dad!"

Fearing the worst, she turned to Horatio. He still seemed agitated, but he wasn't moving wildly around anymore and, much more important, his eyes were open. Quickly Julia took two steps forward, standing behind Kyle. "Dad! You're awake!" he called, holding Horatio's hand tightly. Horatio moved his head to look at Kyle, then he moved to Yelina and back to Kyle, his eyes rising to see Julia. Julia saw the recognition and confusion in Horatio's eyes. Horatio opened and closed his mouth, watering his lips with his tongue. "Where is Celesta?" he whispered and it broke Julia's heart, because they had kept the one he wanted first away from him. Silently she pointed to the window where Celesta stood, still supported by Eric and Calleigh, her hand still pressed against the glass. Julia, unnoticed by the others, gestured for Celesta to come in. After all, she reasoned, Horatio had asked for her and that should be enough for everybody. As Celesta opened the door, Julia looked over at Yelina, daring her to say something, but she didn't. Julia then heard Horatio say: "Why were they holding her, she didn't shoot me." Luckily Celesta had reached the bed before anyone could answer. Celesta grabbed Horatio's and Kyle's hands, squeezing them, placing her hand on Horatio's cheek, leaning forward kissing him where she could: "Don't ever, ever do this again, Horatio. Everyone was so scared that you weren't going to make it. Don't scare us like this again, you can't leave us. You can't." Julia saw a few tears glistening on Celesta's cheeks, and she found a lot of respect for her. She had been so strong, Julia wondered if she could have been that strong. Horatio pulled his hand away from Yelina's to stroke Celesta's cheek and hair, feeling a need to just feel her. "I'm sorry Angel. I'm sorry for scaring you so much. Believe me: I didn't want to." Celesta simply nodded, looking into his blue eyes, desperate to see them.

"I know Horatio, I know. How are you feeling?"

"Sore, tired." As if to prove his point he sighed and closed his eyes. Celesta kissed him and said: "I know darling, the doctor is going to check you out and then you can get some sleep, okay?" Julia looked up and saw the doctor and one of the day nurses in the doorway. "Come on Yelina, we are not need here anymore." Her point was proven when Horatio didn't comment or object. He only had eyes for Celesta, as if he knew she hadn't been with him the past five days. As Julia and Yelina left and walked past the doctor, the doctor commented: "I take it he asked for her?" he nodded at the pair, heads close together, holding each other.

"Yes, we'll talk later doctor. Just take care of him." Julia said, before she and Yelina left the room.
