Stargate SG-1: O'Neill and Carter
Episode 15: Cor-Ai
Scene: Teal'c reborn moment at the end
Character POV: Carter
A defining moment for Teal'c to accept himself as he is, past and future.
"It is mid-day," Teal'c says resignedly. "I am prepared to accept my punishment."
"Teal'c," I heard the Colonel shout. He is trying so hard to get Teal'c to see reason. He tried so hard to get the General to allow the extra manpower.
"You would save those who wish to kill you?" Hanno spoke wide-eyed with disbelief. What is the Colonel thinking that has him so passionate about this? I don't want to see Teal'c dead any more than any other person, not like this, ever. Wait, did Hanno just begin changing his mind?
"I would save those who deserve to live," Teal'c said passionately. While Teal'c rarely says anything, he knows the right words to say.
"I have made a mistake," Hanno said. "My memory was faulty. You are not the same man as he who murdered my father."
"I am the one," Teal'c said now defiant. Teal'c, please, I want to shout.
"No. That Jaffa is dead. You have killed him," Hanno said before turning to the Colonel. "We have our own wounded to care for. I suggest you take your friend home.
"We can help you defend yourselves," The Colonel said to Hanno. Yes, we can and I will fully support the Colonel again when he discusses this with the General. I tried so hard to help him earlier. I wonder how much hot water we will be in when we return.
"We would appreciate that," Hanno replied with a smile.
Hanno hurried away and the Colonel moved to stand in front of Teal'c. Teal'c, with death paint on his body and a staff blast to his leg is still standing tall, tears and all. Damn, don't follow suit. I want him to know so bad that he is an honorable man. I don't think there are any words that any of us can say right now. Even the Colonel isn't saying anything. He just lays his hand gently on Teal'c shoulder. They nodded to each other, brothers in arms. I'm a lucky girl to be on such a wonderful team.
A/N: thank you dpdp for the catch at the top as I had the POV listed wrong. This chapter is in Carter's point of view. Thanks!
