#3 - Unexpected
They were on a mission together, just the two of them. The weather was unexpectably cold ("What? I checked the forecast three times, Hyuuga-sama. It was supposed to be warm, sunny and dry. It's not my fault that the weather people screwed this up") and none of them had packed proper clothes. Their options were a) freeze to death or b) huddle together under the same blanket as close to the fire as possible.
That's why they were in that unusual situation. Contrary to what she initially thought, she had no trouble in falling asleep circled by his arms and engulfed by his warmth. All was well – it was a matter of survival – until, in the middle of the night, she opened her eyes and noticed that his face was only an inch or two apart from hers. The thought of kissing him, just to see what it would feel like, came out of the blue and didn't seem to go away. Her fixed eyes on his sexy mouth (how come she never noticed it before?) distracted her. She licked her lips, and only realized he was awake when he softly spoke to her.
"As much as I want it, too, it's against the code to have, uh, romantic interactions during a mission."
She mumbled an apology and turned her back to him. He wanted her? She thought it could be a natural reaction to their closeness, more a primal instinct than anything else – for both of them. Right? Right. That was exactly the case. The morning after, weather permitting, they would be running again, in their normal state of mind.
She tried to relax and get back to sleep, but his hot breath on her hear as he spoke made it impossible. "But the code doesn't say anything about when we're not on a mission."
They accomplished the mission and got back to Konoha in record time.
