Alien Watch in a Monster School
The Plan
"What do you mean I can vamperise my aliens?"
"It is as simple as that. Azmuth gave your Vidatrix a feature allowing you to use the excess energy from Moka's blood to charge your forms with monster energy," the Headmaster said. "Just turn the dial to the right and press down."
"And what about my blacking out? I barely remember the fight!"
"Perhaps it was the shock of Mizuki snapping your neck. You are quite lucky, you know. Most would be dead."
"Don't give me that crap!" Christian slammed his hands down on the table. "You know what's going on! You always do! I deserve to know what's going on in my body!"
Christian and the Headmaster glared at one another. Neither blinked as they stared the other down. About ten minutes ago, Christian had barged into the office, demanding to know what was happening to him. Kurumu and Mizore had told him what had happened to Swampfire after he'd blacked out.
"Are you sure you want to know?"
"I crave meat all the time! I'm having nightmares every night! Last time I transformed I even heard a voice!"
"A voice? What kind?"
"What kind of question is that? It was a voice. It's probably just a sign I'm going crazy! Well? What's your excuse for that one?" The Headmaster was silent. Christian's hands tightened, his nails scratching against the desk. "I want that remote."
"No. It will remain with me until told otherwise."
"We had a deal!"
"No. You had a threat. I have insurance." He gestured to the door. "Please leave. If I remember, you have a school festival to organise."
Christian growled but nevertheless turned and left. The Headmaster waited until the door closed before swivelling in his chair and letting out a heavy sigh. "I'm sorry," he said to the wall. "But you are not ready to know the world you are getting into."
Christian stood fuming over the balcony overlooking the main school corridor. There, he saw the students of the academy working together, to make the school ready for the upcoming festival in ten days. The hallway was filled with the chatter, everyone in good will.
"It's just as I imagined it."
The teen glanced to the side to see Hokuto walk up beside him.
"Oh, hey there man," he said, finally cracking a smile.
"You sound down. Penny for your thoughts."
"Nah, it's nothing," Christian said, waving off the conversation. "This though," he said, gesturing to the other students. "This is amazing. The school actually looks festive for once."
"That's right, you're a freshman! This is your first festival, huh?" The two began to move further down the balcony. "It's going to get a lot busier than this. Lots of alumni come back to the academy to visit. Even a lot of the ones who moved to the Human World. It's a student celebration and reunion all in one! And it lasts for three whole days – from October 29th to Halloween."
"Sounds like a great time," Christian remarked.
"Indeed, heh heh. This year, that means three days to showcase peace. That'll be the Festival Committee's project. Couldn't ask for a better job, huh?"
Christian smiled and gave the taller teen a nod. "Definitely."
"So how is your own club managing?" Hokuto asked.
"Oh, the News Club is busy with reports on the festival. I'm sure they're manging though."
"I can't believe he thought we could manage this!" Yukari cried as her fingers danced across her keyboard. "Where is Zack and Lala when you need them?!"
The Newspaper Club was indeed hard at work. The sound of pen scribbles and computer tapping filled the room as the four occupants of the room rushed to finish their individual tasks.
The door flew open as Kurumu rushed in holding a stack full of papers. "I'm he-ere!" she cried as she walked in. "We're done with our research!"
"Welcome back Kurumu," Moka said, looking up from the article she was writing.
"It took forever… but I collected every last scrap of info on the class activities," Kurumu said.
"Good job!" Moka said, brushing a loose strand of her hair out of her face. "Now we need to write up and FAQ article, list the musical events, pick out some pictures. Oh! And design a cute layout!"
With each job Moka listed, Kurumu's face became less and less enthusiastic until she finally slumped to the ground in despair. "Ahh!" she finally screamed. "Too busy! How come a FUN festival just means more work for us?!"
"What a racket…" Mizore said under her breath. She was on the ground helping to organise the paper layout. Christian had roped her into it to help in his absence.
"This is all because Christian abandoned us for that Hokuto guy!" Kurumu said. Earlier that day, he had apologised for being unable to help the club that day as he had to help Hokuto set up for the festival and talk to the Headmaster. When he had spoken about Hokuto, he seemed so happy. The smile on his face was one she had never seen before on him. Like he had finally found someone he could relate to.
Moka's nervous laughter brought Kurumu out of her thoughts. "Don't be so harsh on Christian. Hokuto's a really great guy. The teachers love him. I don't blame Christian for supporting him."
"What's so good about the guy?" Kurumu cried, getting in Moka's face. "He's skinny! And he's got an evil face!"
"An… Evil face?" Moka repeated.
"Ha ha ha! Are you jealous, Kurumu?" Yukari asked, leaving her laptop. "Of a guy? That's just sad."
"What are you talking about?" the Succubus teen cried as she and the witch teen began another of their famous fights.
Moka watched the entire thing with a sweat drop. However, Kurumu's words stuck with her. She couldn't help but wonder, if Christian had to choose between the News Club and Student Council, who would he go with?
'Maybe he should talk to Hokuto about his work with us. Ask if he can divide his time more evenly.'
"Hey Hokuto, what do you think of this poster for the club activities schedule?"
Christian and Hokuto had returned to the Council Building to attend to some of the council preparations. As the other council members chatted while doing their own tasks, Christian, who was stood at the table, was working on his own project.
"Oh, you're done already?" Hokuto said, coming over to check on the teen's progress. "You're quick, Christian."
"Oh, it's nothing. I just have experience from some work I did back home."
"And where is home for you?"
"I'm from a town in America called Bellwood," Christian said absently.
"Bellwood? The place with all those random monster sightings?"
Christian paused. "You know about that?"
"I like to follow international news," Hoktuo said. "But enough about that. What's your class doing for the festival?"
"Oh. 1-3 is going to have a 'Catch the Fish' booth."
"Catch the Fish?"
"Yeah," Christian said with a laugh. "Our homeroom is really into it. She's taking care of everything." In his mind, the Vidatrix teen could just imagine Ms. Nekonome standing over a small pool will with goldfish, looking at them hungrily. "I'm just afraid she'll eat all the fish…"
The work continued for a time before Hokuto approached Christian again. "It looks like we can take a breather today. Why don't you drop by your classroom? Oh, and your club too?"
"Huh? Are you sure that's okay?"
"Of course. You haven't been going there much recently. Go and lend them a hand. I'm sure they'll be busy."
"Well if that's okay, that'd be great. Thanks!"
"Hey, we should be thanking you." The taller teen turned and gave Christian a smile. "You know the council's been targeted by the Anti – Schoolers, right. Sabotaging the festival is the top of their agenda. No one wants to have anything to do with the council. Too dangerous. But you're different. You're still working with us. You didn't run. Even after they attacked you. You're stronger than you look Christian."
The teen left the Council Building with renewed vigour. Ever since he'd been working with the council, he felt like he was finally making more distance with his mission at the academy. Hokuto, the festival; they had given him hope that all he was doing wasn't for nothing.
But what Hokuto had said, about not running, he couldn't help but feel undeserving. The truth was he did want to run, but he couldn't. If he were to run, the Anti – Schoolers would just go after his friends. Yokai Academy was a terrifying place. He couldn't count the number of times he had almost died. The Vidatrix caught his eye and he grimaced. Every time his power surged; he was brought closer to death. Three locks were already broken, each one signalling he was closer to death. But his only option was to fight. There were still plenty of locks left, he should still be fine for some time. Hopefully.
"Hey! Nice watch you got there!"
Christian stopped in his tracks. He turned around to see a male student reading high in a tree. He was very good looking, like a male model. He had long silver hair that covered one eye and wore a long black coat that went down to his knees. Once he saw Christian looking at him, he gave a small smile. In one swift moment, he jumped down from the tree and approached the Vidatrix teen.
"I'm jealous!" the teen said. "I want one too! It looks so stylish!"
"Um, excuse me… Can you… Um… Please…" Finally, Christian was able to pull his arm away. "I'm sorry!" he cried, causing the other teen to jump away. "Sorry, but I've got someplace I need to be." Without giving the teen the opportunity to argue, the teen turned and jogged towards the school.
Kiriya watched as Christian hurried away from him and closed his book. "Shoot. I scared him off. Guess I came on a little too strong."
"Idiot. What do you think you were doing Kiriya?" With a smirk, Kiriya turned back to see an old friend standing at the top of a set of stairs up a small hill. "You can't talk to Christian! You're being watched under suspicion of being and Anti – Schooler. You know that."
Kiriya let out a small chuckle. "Look whose talking. You're the one who has to play nice," he said as he made his way up the steps. "Won't you get into trouble if someone catches you talking to me… Boss?" As Kiriya walked past him, Hokuto smiled and adjusted his glasses. Seeing that the taller teen wasn't going to speak, Kiriya took the initiative to continue. "Everything is going according to your plan, isn't it, Hokuto? We've thrown trouble in Christian's way. Probably more than we had to, but enough to convince everyone he's in mortal danger and get the Headmaster to take him under his wing. And now that Christian is in the Headmaster's inner circle…" He didn't need to finish. One smirk from Hokuto and Kiriya burst out in uncharacteristic laughter.
"This is fun! You're a clever one alright!" he said, clapping Hokuto on the back. "I can't wait to see if you actually pull this off!"
The tall teen coughed as he readjusted his glasses once more. "I'm glad you find this so amusing. Just keep your mind on your work. And keep a lid on that temper of yours. I'm about to put my plan into motion. Any moment now… You've got to be ready to move."
"Yeah! You can count on me, Hokuto!" Kiriya said through his laughter.
Hokuto pinched the bridge of his nose and sighed. "There's only one question mark in my plan. And that's you," he said, turning to look at Kiriya. "Now get out of here or -"
He didn't finish. Kiriya felt a shiver run down his back as a feeling of dread rushed over him. He turned to see Hokuto glaring out into the trees. His eyes were so fierce that it even gave him goose bumps. The crows in the trees, sensing the sudden spike in monster energy, immediately took flight.
"Is something wrong, Hokuto?"
"No… It's nothing. Absolutely nothing."
The two teens began to walk away. As they did, a person with a head full of pink hair poked out from behind a tree. Once she was sure she was safe, Moka made a run for the academy. As he walked away, Hokuto smirked and readjusted his glasses once more.
"WHAT?!" Kurumu cried
"You think Hokuto's a monster?" Yukari cried.
Moka had rushed back to the club room after seeing Hokuto and Kiriya. She had originally gone out to try and meet up with Christian to ask for his help. However, after seeing them, she knew she needed to get out of there. Once she was back in the club room, she immediately told her friends everything she had heard. Kurumu and Yukari were quite loud in their shock. Mizore remained at the side, her eyes never leaving the exchange.
"If that's true…" Kurumu began, her body shaking. "We've got a major problem!"
"I'm sure it's true!" Moka cried. "Why else would Hokuto and Kiriya be talking together?" The Vampire teen watched as Kurumu's shaking increased. Moka could hardly blame. She remembered what Kurumu had told them about Kiriya. He was a frightening force. The Succubus teen was ridiculously fast and even she couldn't lay a finger on him. If Hokuto was anything like Kiriya, it would be near impossible to beat them.
*Eeark!*
The girls panicked as the door suddenly opened. Standing on the other side, his skin pale and eyes wide, was Christian. "You can't be serious…" His words were quiet and stammered. "Hokuto is one of them?" Moka shared a glance with the other girls. Each of them knew how close Christian had become to Hokuto. He looked up to the teen. But surely, he would believe them.
Taking the initiative, the pinkette stepped forward. "I'm sure of it. I saw them together on the way to meet you. I didn't hear what they were saying. But… I could tell." Christian had broken out in a cold sweat, his eyes wide and he was being strangely silent. "W – we better take this to the Headmaster…"
"No."
Moka paused. What did he say?
"You must be wrong, Moka," Christian continued, giving a small but nervous laugh. "Hokuto? One of them? That makes no sense." The teen turned to the door.
"Christian, wait!" Kurumu cried out. "Don't just leave!"
"I didn't imagine what I saw!" Moka cried.
"Look… Even if you saw something weird, it must be because Kiriya's tricking him somehow!"
"Christian, where are you going?" Yukari demanded as she, Moka and Kurumu moved towards the teen.
"Are you seriously saying you trust Hokuto more than your friends?!" Kurumu cried. "You've got to be kidding, Christian!"
Christian paused. For a brief, shining moment, the girls thought he may stop. Those hopes were dashed as the teen walked out. "I'm sorry," he said before closing the door.
The girls were left gawking before, finally, Kurumu grabbed a chair and got ready to throw it at the door. "Christian! Get back here!" she screamed as Yukari tried to hold her back. "Traitor!"
Moment after leaving the club room, Christian transformed into Fasttrack and made a beeline for the Student Council Building. While he trusted his friends, he just couldn't believe what they were saying.
"It can't be him," he thought. The image of Hokuto's kind smile played in his mind. "He's the only other guy I trust at this school! Everything he said… it can't just be a lie!" He arrived at the Council Building and changed back before rushing inside. As his footsteps echoed around him, bouncing off the walls as his anticipation grew. "Moka and the others were just mistaken," he told himself as he hurried down the dark corridors.
However, as he got closer, he began to hear muffled shouts and crashes coming from the council room. With his heart pounding in his chest, Christian burst through the door. What he saw made his stomach turn. The council room was trashed. The table that had once represented the unity of the capsule was broken; split down the middle. Some of the pillars that had supported the weight of the ceiling had collapsed. The members of the council were scattered across the floor, unconscious and letting out pained groans. They weren't moving. Christian's nostrils were suddenly assaulted by a foul, iron – like stench. It was then he noticed that almost every surface in the room was covered in the council's blood.
And there, standing with over all of them, was Hokuto. The tall teen looked at Vidatrix teen out of the corner of his eye, regarding his disinterestedly. "Ah, so you came, Christian."
The teen fell back against the wall, his body shaking. "Hokuto, how could you do this? They were your friends, weren't they?" Hokuto said nothing. Leaning down, he picked up one of the splintered legs of the table and began walking towards Christian. In response, Christian raised the Vidatrix and activated it.
"Don't make me do this."
Hokuto drew back his arm.
"I'm begging you!"
As Hokuto thrust his weapon forward, there was a blinding flash of green light. The table leg snapped as it clashed against yellow armoured plating. "I warned you," the robust alien growled. "Now you deal with Cannonbolt!"
The large alien took a swipe at Hokuto. Unfortunately, Cannonbolt's slow movements made it easy for the taller teen to dodge. The teen put a nice amount of distance between himself and Cannonbolt. The alien noticed his eyes narrow as Hokuto regarded his new form.
"This is a rare sight," he said. "You rarely use that form."
"I save him for special occasions," Cannonbolt replied.
"He is a bit disappointing though. I was rather hoping to face one of your other forms. I've heard plenty about the form you call Humungousaur. Or maybe even Ironmonger. Then again, that form you took when fighting Mido was most impressive. I would have thought you'd use that eone more often."
Cannonbolt let out a low growl. "I don't need to use Shadowstreak to stop you."
"Maybe. But you won't do it in that form."
"We'll see." Cannonbolt immediately curled up into a ball and sped forwards. Much to his surprise however, Hokuto easily avoided his assault by leaping over his ball – like form. The tall teen landed gracefully behind the alien.
"Pathetic!" he cried before kicking Cannonbolt's yellow shell. The force of it created a small shock wave that sent the bipedal alien through the far wall. "You truly expected to beat me like that?"
From the other side of the wall, there was another green flash before Diamondhead burst through the hole, firing crystal shards out towards the bespectacled teen. In response, Hokuto kicked up part of the broken table and held on to it as the incoming shards imbedded themselves within the wood. With incredible speed, Hokuto launched the table back at Diamondhead. The silicon – like alien was unable to react fast enough as the it hit him in the face. His head spinning, Diamondhead staggered forward where Hokuto stood waiting for him. In one fluid motion, Hokuto kicked the alien's feet out from under him, sending Diamondhead crashing into the floor.
Before he could get up, Hokuto pressed the Vidatrix symbol on Diamondhead's belt. In a green flash, Diamondhead reverted into Christian.
"What?" the teen cried as he patted himself down. "How did you do that?"
"The Monstrels have been fighting and observing you for months. Do you really think we wouldn't know how your transformations work by now?" Hokuto said, placing his foot on Christian's chest and keeping him from getting up.
Christian's face fell as he bit the inside of his cheek. "So, it was true. All this time you've been in on it with Kiriya. You're an Anti – Schooler."
Hokuto let out a heavy sigh and stepped away, allowing Christian to struggle back to his feet. "So, our conversation was overheard was it? I guess that explains your prompt arrival. You are ahead of schedule. Oh well, that just means we will have to launch our plan a little early." He adjusted his glasses and a thin smile spread across his lips. "And yes. You're right. Wouldn't want to leave you in suspense. I fact, I am the leader of the Anti – Schoolers."
Christian felt like someone had just stabbed him in the gut. His breath hitched in his throat and his nails dug so hard into his palm, he drew blood. "No… I trusted you. Every time my life was put in danger. Every time my friends were put in got drawn in… it was all you?" His teeth scraped together as his anger bubbled to the surface. "I've been at the end of my rope. So many times, I've wanted to run away. But if I did that, my friends would be in the firing line. If anything happened to them, I wouldn't be able to live with myself.
"And then I met you. Your words inspired me to keep going. You were so strong and disciplined. I told myself that if I could be as half as strong, like you, I would be able to get through this bloody mess."
Hokuto looked at the teen coldly. "Your sentimentality bores me. Emotions are pointless and only serve to get in the way." Cracking his knuckles, the bespectacled teen began walking towards the downhearted Christian. "What I seek is knowledge. Show me the ferocity in which you dispatched my underlings. If you don't, you will die."
"Christian, look out!"
Just before Hokuto could strike Christian, he was forced to retreat when something came flying towards him. The Anti – Schooler leader was able to dodge by jumping back to a safe distance. Once the projectiles hit the ground, Christian saw they were sharpened tarot cards. When he looked to Hokuto, he saw the teen had been trapped by a claw made of the frozen blood from the council members.
"You make me sick! You're the lowest of the low!" A blue blur sped past Christian and flew above the trapped Monstrel. With fury in her eyes, Kurumu shot towards Hokuto and took a swipe at him with her claws. "I saw through you from the start! Your face! It's evil!" The enraged Succubus unleashed a fury of attacks powerful enough to destroy another of the pillars, creating a cloud of dust that obscured both her and Hokuto.
From behind him, Mizore and Yukari stepped out in front of Christian and stood protectively in front of the teen. The snow woman's claws were primed, and her hair spiked, something she only did when she was ready to fight seriously. Yukari's wand was prepped in front of her, the star in the top glowed in readiness for another assault.
As the dust began to dissipate, the figure of Kurumu became clearer. The girl was facing away from him and in her monster form. "Christian… what you just said about being on the edge… why didn't you tell us?" Her voice was low and more confined than her normal tone. "You're so selfish! Even after you promised to stop doing things alone. Why do you always take it upon yourself to protect us?" The girl finally turned towards the Vidatrix teen. Despite the situation and her sad words, she smiled at Christian reassuringly. A quick look showed Mizore and Yukari were smiling at him as well. "You've got to let us in, Christian. If we do this together, it won't be half as bad."
A great surge of emotion swelled within Christian. After everything he had said and done, they had still come to protect him. Before he could say anything more, they heard something shift from within the dust.
As more of the dust cleared, Hokuto walked emerged. He looked unharmed. "So close!" he said. "I thought I might finally get to see Christian's ferocious side."
Christian scrambled to move but Mizore stepped protectively in front of him. Kurumu and Yukari were also quick to react, moving around to Hokuto's back in a flash. There was a tense moment where no one moved, each combatant waiting for the others to make a move.
Just as Kurumu prepared to pounce, the door flew open. All eyes fell upon the new entry to see the wounded form of Ruby. Her skirt and stockings were torn and there was a large gash on her left shoulder, her precious life source flowing down her arm. The girl's breathing was erratic, and she looked so exhausted, she had collapsed to the ground.
"Stop!" she cried. "I'm… so sorry. I tried to stop him but…"
"Ruby! What's wrong?" Yukari asked, immediately running to the older witch and using magic to try and heal her wounds.
"It's Moka! Moka's been taken!"
"What?" Christian cried, running over to the girl. "What happened?"
"It was Kiriya," Ruby said. "Moka came to me to look into Hokuto's background but Kiriya ambushed us. I tried to stop him, but I wasn't strong enough. He abducted her."
The other girls scowled at Hokuto. "You're behind this, aren't you?" Mizore asked.
"Of course he is!" Kurumu growled, her body shaking with bubbling anger. "Look at everything he's done; sending Monstrels to attack us, attacking the council members and now kidnapping Moka!"
"He was convincing," Yukari admitted, leaving Ruby's side and holding up her wand towards Hokuto. "Everyone knows how hard working he was around the school. We've all seen much Christian looked up to you!"
"He finally thought he'd found a kindred spirit," Mizore said a little sadly.
Hokuto stood stoically, his eyes focused on those around him. Finally, the visage cracked when a smirk tugged at his lips. "You think we're 'kindred spirits'?" he asked as he once again adjusted his glasses. "Don't make me laugh! That fool is nothing without his friends. How many times has he lost control? How many times has he wandered into trouble with you having to save him? He is a worm. One that can't even begin to comprehend my plan. Let alone stop it."
"Enough!" Kurumu leapt forward with her nails extended. "I don't care what your fancy-shmancy plan is! You're going to tell me where Moka is!"
Before the Succubus teen got close, Hokuto had grabbed her wrist. He had turned faster than anyone could process. Kurumu tried to escape but Hokuto's grip was like an iron vice. No matter how much she struggled, she could not escape the Anti – Schooler.
Seeing Kurumu's helplessness, Hokuto let out a small chuckle. "Just as I thought. You're a little songbird. Sharp, precise attacks… but once caught…" he tightened his grip, pushing his thumb into the joints, causing the girl to let out a sharp cry of pain. "You are helpless in my grip. Without Moka Akashiya, none of you are a match for me." The teen raised his arm, in preparation to strike.
Suddenly, ice sprung up from the floor, enveloping Hokuto and causing him to let go of Kurumu. It didn't last long as the ice shattered, freeing the Monstrel. However, the assault had succeeded in once again putting distance between the teens.
"What do you think you're trying to pull, stupid?" Mizore asked the recovering Succubus. "You know you don't have a snowball's chance in hell of beating this guy? If you really want to help Moka, you need to stay cool!" The Snow Woman didn't take her eyes off Hokuto. She knew that if she gave the guy the chance, her blood would be splattered across the room like the council members. "I'm no great fighter. I haven't had enough experience to get very good at it. But… There is one thing I'm sure of… If we work together, there's no opponent we can't beat!"
Hokuto's eyes widened as he heard a low whistle from behind him. Almost immediately, a hailstorm of razor-sharp tarot cards descending upon the bespectacled teen like hellfire. "Don't you forger about me!" Yukari cried as she joined the two girls.
"And me!" Ruby, though wounded, moved in with the group, her wings materialising on her back. Her wand glowed a dangerous amethyst.
Emerging from the attack, once again unscathed, Hokuto let out a low growl. "So… it's the friends again."
"No."
From behind the girls, Christian walked forward. "I wanted to trust you. I really did. But you've made it clear you're not interested in listening to me. So maybe you'll listen to this!" The teen activated the Vidatrix and slammed down on the core.
"Spidermonkey!"
Hokuto scoffed at the four – armed blue monkey. "You really think that form can stop me?"
"Not alone," Spidermonkey growled as the girls behind him stepped forward. "Get him!"
The next few minutes became a blur as the six fought. Kurumu and Mizore took point, using their superior speed and reflexes to take swipes the Anti – Schooler. Providing support, Yukari and Ruby sent out waves of tarot cards and crows to pin down the teen. From the ceiling, Spidermonkey did the same, firing of streams of webbing to stop Hokuto from moving.
Hokuto never transformed. Remaining in his human form, he faced down the teens. He easily dodged and weaved around their attacks, using bits of debris as shielding from the assaults. The only time he attacked was when there was a break in the attacks. He went after the witch duo first, flawlessly making his way beside them and throwing them against the nearest wall.
Using Hokuto's momentary lapse in concentration, Spidermonkey shot out a glob of webbing at Hokuto's foot, trapping him. Kurumu used this chance to get in close, slashing at the teen with her claws. The teen tried to dodge, but due to the restrictions on his leg, he wasn't fast enough. Kurumu cut through his arm, tearing the cloth and lightly cutting the skin.
A small bead of blood fell down his arm. Hokuto looked at it before turning to look at Kurumu with a smirk. "All of that for a single drop of blood?"
The Succubus teen's eyes widened, and she tried to jump back. But she'd already made her mistake. Hokuto grabbed her tail and in one movement tossed her over to Yukari and Ruby, knocking the girls back down to the ground.
Mizore, now keeping her distance, waved her arms in an arc, sending out waves of glistening, ice kunai towards Hokuto. Grabbing a nearby table, the Anti – Schooler blocked the attacks before throwing his make shift shield back at the Snow Girl. Acting quickly, a blade of ice formed around Mizore's right arm. In one swipe, the table was split down the middle, each side passing Mizore safely.
From the ceiling, Spidermonkey watched as Hokuto proceeded to rip the webbing away from his leg like it was made of paper. He knew that if he wanted to end this fight quickly and keep his friends safe, he'd need something stronger. Biting his lip, he pressed the Vidatrix symbol on his chest. Four prongs immediately popped out of the symbol as a wave of evolutionary energy passed over the alien monkey.
His body changed, becoming like a gorilla's. His skin was now purple whilst his fur changed to black. He no longer possessed a tail or an extra set of arms and had three pairs of glowing green eyes. Two pairs of spider – like legs extended out from his waist. The evolved Vidatrix symbol was on his chest.
"Ultimate Spidermonkey!" the new form cried in a deeper voice, pounding his chest dominantly.
Once again, Hokuto regarded the new form before smiling. "Finally putting in some effort now?"
The alien gorilla dropped to the ground with a heavy thump. Now towering above taller boy, he looked down on the teen. There was a tense silence before the alien swiped the teen away with his large arm. Hokuto tried to block, but the force behind the blow was far too strong. The Anti – Schooler was sent rolling across the room, slamming into the side of the remaining pillar, reducing it to rubble as the marble fell on top of him.
Ultimate Spidermonkey let out a growl as he approached the downed Anti – Schooler. His lower jaw split open and he shot out a stronger blob of webbing from his mouth. It hit Hokuto in the chest, trapping him in place. Now trapped, the Anti – Schooler fell to his knees, blood streaming down from a cut on his head.
"We… We beat him!" Kurumu said, walking over to Hokuto. "He's a weakling compared to Kiriya. That was nothing! Yahoohoo!"
"You'd be a lot more convincing if we weren't covered in blood," Yukari deadpanned. Beside her, Mizore let out a heavy sigh as she tried to regain her breath.
The five teens walked over to Hokuto. He was no longer making any attempt to resist. It seemed he knew he'd been beaten. "We've won," Mizore said. "You won't be able to act out you plan to destroy the school."
"Yeah!" Kurumu cried, moving her claws to Hokuto's neck. "Now you're gonna tell us where Moka is!"
"Wait!"
Before Kurumu could strike, Ultimate Spidermonkey used one of his legs to move the Succubus teen out of the way. Kurumu let out a gasp and even Hokuto's eyes widened. "Christian! What are you stop me? We've got to make him tell us where Moka is!"
"No." Ultimate Spidermonkey pressed the symbol on his chest twice, reverting into his devolved form and then into Christian. "If we force him to tell us then we are no better than him." Kneeling down, he looked at the Anti – Schooler with kind eyes. "Hokuto, I saw the look on your face when you said you wanted to bring peace to the academy. I don't believe you were lying. Not completely anyway. I don't want anyone else to get hurt because of this feud between us, but I don't want you to hurt anyone else either. Your plan has already failed. Just tell us, where is Moka?"
Hokuto glared at Christian. He didn't move and didn't talk. The two shared another tense moment of silence before it became clear Hokuto would not break. His hand tightened against his trousers before he finally stood up. "If you won't talk, you leave me with no choice. I wanted to keep this between us, but if you won't cooperate, then we're going to need help." He turned to his friends, his expression sour and his arm twitching.
"We're going to taking him to the Headmaster."
