Chapter Twenty-Nine
Multiples
SG-1 had just walked through the gate. They had come back early from their previous mission. Upon debriefing, Walter's voice came over the intercom. General Landry and SG-1 walked to the control room. Walter looked up at General Landry. "It's SG-1s IDC code, Sir." Walter said looking confused. SG-1 looked at each other in a confused manner. "Alright, open the iris." General Landry said. Walter nodded and the iris opened. SG-1 stumbled through the gate. They noticed guns being pointed at them and each member put their hands up. "Whoa, what's going on?" Cameron asked.
General Landry looked down at SG-1, then back at the SG-1 that was standing in the control room with him. He was confused by this, but wasn't totally surprised. It was the SGC, what did he expect? The SG-1 that had just walked through the gate had come home when they were scheduled to come home from the planet they were supposed to come home from, so General Landry had to assume the SG-1 that had just walked through the gate was the real SG-1. The members of the SG-1 that was in the control room with him were each taken to different cells for questioning. Each member of the real SG-1 interrogated members of the other SG-1. Cameron had gone in first to question the other Katelyn. "Katelyn?" Cameron asked.
She smiled at him in her smile that he knew so well and absolutely loved. "Hey, how is my most loving husband?" Katelyn asked. Cameron looked startled. "Husband?" Cameron asked. Katelyn smiled again. "Are you and Katelyn not married here?" She asked. Cameron shook his head. "No, we aren't." Katelyn who was still smiling winked at him. Cameron decided it would be best if someone else interrogated this Katelyn. He wasn't sure he could do it. He walked out of her room and saw his Katelyn smiling at him. He looked confused still. "Are you alright Cameron?" Katelyn asked concerned. "Yeah, I'm fine." He said before walking away shaking his head.
SG-1 was finished interrogating the others when it was reported that yet another SG-1 had come through the gate. One SG-1 after the other came walking through the gate expecting to be home. After hours, it was concluded that these other SG-1s were from alternate universes. There were an infinite number of them. With that, SG-1s kept poured through the gate. As the SG teams came through so did other people who weren't originally on SG-1. General Landry came into a room that held the real SG-1. "I think there are a few people you guys would like to see." SG-1 walked into a room that held an alternate SG-1. Cameron was there and so was Daniel and Teal'c, but Katelyn and Sam weren't there. Janet and Martouf were there instead. "Janet!" Katelyn shouted and gave her a hug. "Martouf?" Sam said quietly. She almost started crying. Martouf had died years before.
With the help of Martouf and the many Samantha Carters a theory was devised to explain why the jumps into that particular universe were happening and a way to stop it so more SG-1s wouldn't get stranded there. Walter had brought Sam coffee. "You know we have multiple SG teams. Why are these all SG-1s?" He asked. Sam smiled. "Well, we're the front line team. The most likely to be coming in hot through the gate and the most likely one the gate will be opened to." Walter nodded and walked away. Soon after the plan was devised, the real SG-1 and the first alternate SG-1 were on the ship heading to a black hole. It was the black hole that was causing the alternate SG-1s to jump to their universe.
Upon heading to the black hole the alternate SG-1 hijacked the ship and began heading to Atlantis to get the ZPM. They needed it to power their Ancient's chair in Antarctica to fight Anubis in their universe. The real SG-1 members were rounded up and put in a holding cell. "This really sucks. Why did we think we could bring them? I knew from the beginning that other Katelyn was no good." Cameron said. Katelyn looked at him. "Hey, what's that supposed to mean. She is me you know." Katelyn said defensively. Cameron was about to say something, but shook his head and decided against it. Katelyn scowled at him. "We have to get out of here and take back our ship." Sam said as she began working on a control panel. Soon the door opened and they headed straight toward the armory. Within a half an hour they had taken back their ship.
The alternate SG-1 was in the holding cell and Sam had disabled any way to open the doors from the inside as she had just done. They continued to the black hole and fixed the problem then headed for home. One by one they got every alternate SG team back to their own realities including the SG-1 that had tried to highjack their ship. Cameron was definitely happy to see that team go. The SG-1 with Janet and Martouf were last to go. Katelyn gave Janet a hug. "So where are Sam and I in your reality?" Katelyn asked curiously. Janet smiled. "You're both on maternity leave." Sam and Katelyn looked stunned. "Who am I having a child with?" Katelyn asked wondering who it could possibly be. Janet smiled and looked at Cameron. Katelyn followed her gaze. She looked confused. Cameron? "Cameron? Are we married?" Katelyn asked thoroughly confused. Although it was all she wanted it didn't seem likely actually to happen.
Janet smiled again. "Yes, you and Cameron got married shortly after he became SG-1's commander. You are now having a child. Are you not married here?" Cameron and Katelyn laughed awkwardly at the same time. "We're not even dating." Cameron said. Janet laughed and then looked at Sam knowingly. "Sam, you're having a child with General O'Neill." Sam looked utterly shocked as did everyone else, but after the initial shock Katelyn and Daniel couldn't help but laugh. "Here Janet." Sam said in a small voice after she got over the shock herself handing a box with the antidote to the Ori's disease. Janet looked like she was about to cry. Her Earth needed the cure. They were facing a seriously deadly pandemic. I guess their reality wasn't as fortunate as Katelyn's had been in finding a cure to the Ori Plague.
Sam went up to Martouf. "I told you, you weren't my Samantha anymore." Martouf said. "Well, if you were alive here I would be. I miss you Martouf." Sam said quietly. "I miss you too." Martouf kissed Sam on the cheek. Katelyn hugged Janet one last time and said her goodbyes to the rest of the team before they left through the Stargate. Katelyn took the fact that Cameron and her were having a baby in another reality meant that maybe they were at least going to date sometime in their lives. Katelyn took solace in the fact she got to see Janet one last time. Katelyn was happy, really happy for the first time in a long time and all it took was getting back in to the lull of weirdness that was the SGC.
