Chapter 29

It had now been a month since Freddie, Lindsey and the girls left Hollyoaks, so far they hadn't had any trouble they were living what they thought was a happy life. Sandy would soon be with them as she had gone to visit the local council to try and get them all somewhere to live. Lindsey had got herself a job at the hospital in Blackpool and today Freddie took the girls along to the sea front for a nice day out, Lindsey was due to meet them once her shift had finished. Little did they know that Grace was also in Blackpool and had spotted Freddie, Elsa and Ruby.

"Daddy! Can I have some more coins please" Ruby asked as she looked inside her bag of 2p pieces only to discover she had run out of them.

"Yes, but this is your last lot okay Rubs" Freddie said as he handed Ruby another bag of coins, he looked at Elsa's bag and saw how she had an awful lot left.

"Thanks Daddy" Ruby said in acknowledgement of the coins.

"Do you not want any more Els?" Freddie asked, Elsa had a sheer look of concentration on her face.

"No thank you Freddie! I'm doing okay thank you" Elsa said emotionless, Freddie smiled at this as she sounded just like Lindsey this made him realise that he and Lindsey were doing a good job at bringing her up.

"That's good then, 5 more minuets girls and then we'll go and meet Lindsey is that alright with you both?" Freddie chirped as he felt his stomach rumble

"YES!" the girls shouted in unison, Grace was now lurking behind a slot machine she smirked with vengeance as she figured that Elsa would soon be in her company.

Freddie took the girls along the pier, Elsa running slightly in front of him Ruby was chasing Elsa playfully, they were both squealing with delight.

"You two slow down, stay in my sight please" Freddie called as they seemed to be running a little far away from him.

They both ran back to him, Elsa looking slightly pale with fright and Ruby looking slightly shaken up.

"Elsa are you feeling poorly?" Freddie said bending down to her level and feeling the top of her head, she didn't have a tempartiture.

"No it's that lady again, I saw her by the end of the peir" Elsa said, Freddie looked down at Ruby asking for her clarification, Ruby confirmed that she had saw her too.

"Come on we need to go quickly!" Freddie picked both girls up and ran towards the restaurant they were due to meet Lindsey in. Once he had caught sight of Lindsey he relaxed a little.

"Fred what's wrong?" Lindsey asked in concern as she saw the look on his face.

"It's Grace she's found us, we need to leave again Linds we can't stay here!" Freddie panicked.

"How? Where have you seen her?" Lindsey asked, Elsa sensed Freddie's fear.

"By the pier I saw her Lindsey" Elsa said softly, Freddie thought of something.

"Linds! Stay here with the kids, I've got to make a phone call" Freddie said quietly, quickly walking out of the restaurant he phoned Kyle a friend of his.

Freddie was going to pay him for getting rid of Grace, he didn't care how it was done she just needed to be taken permanently out of his life and away from his family. Kyle arranged to meet Freddie after dark, Lindsey was unknown to this but he had time to tell her later, time wasn't on their side this time. Freddie was about to meet Kyle, he wanted to tell Lindsey the plan but he felt he couldn't.

"Freddie where are you going?" Elsa asked, he was slightly startled as he expected her to be in bed.

"I'm just popping out, I'll see you in the morning, why aren't you in bed?" he asked scooping her up and attempting to take her upstairs.

"I can't sleep, Lindsey didn't read a story tonight. I can't go to sleep without one" she said as Freddie stepped up the top step of their 2 bedroomed flat which they were all temporarily living in.

"How about you look after this little fella tonight for me?" Freddie said with a smile as he set Elsa down and handed her a small pug soft toy, he had another one in his pocket for Ruby he was going to give them out tomorrow but tonight's events changed his mind slightly. Elsa's face lit up immediately.

"He's beautiful! What's his name?" she gasped, cuddling the toy close to her chest.

"Whatever you want to call him" Freddie said with a smile, Elsa looked to be in deep thought for a few moments.

"urm Gordon!" she beamed, Freddie smiled at how random the name was.

"That's a lovely name, why don't we go and put Gordon to bed and you take care of him yeah?" Freddie smiled, laughing slightly at his words 'That's a Lovely Name' but luckily Elsa didn't pick up on anything.

Once Elsa was settled, Freddie popped into the room he shared with Lindsey, she was sat watching TV. As soon as she caught sight of Freddie she got up and greeted him with a hug.

"Hey baby!" she said as she kissed him softly on the lips.

"Alright Linds" he said as he pulled her into to a tight hug, kissing her head.

"Yeah thanks, I'm glad you're back though Fred I've missed you" Lindsey said as she sat on the bed.

"I've missed you too! Are you hungry?" Freddie sat beside her and pulled her close into a side hug.

"I could murder a portion of chips" Lindsey beamed. Freddie was relieved as this was a reason to leave the house and meet up with Kyle.

"I'll pop to the chippy then shall I" Freddie said with a smile.

"Please, there's something I need to tell you once you're back" Lindsey said with a beaming smile, her eyes lighting up as she said the words.

"There is? I'd better hurry up and get going then I need to hear this" Freddie said, kissing her on the head and quickly made his way to meet Kyle.

"Oi Freddie" Kyle called as Freddie looked around for him but couldn't catch sight of him anywhere, Freddie sighed with relief as Kyle approached him.

"Thank god! I thought you were standing me up or something. Have you got the job done?" Freddie asked with a hopeful look on his face.

"Wouldn't do a thing like that when there's money involved, Grace is out of the equation and that's all I can say on the subject" Kyle said with a smirk on his face.

"At least tell me what's been done" Freddie said, wanting to know exactly what had been done, Kyle had Grace's bracelet in his hand.

"I can't mate, just get on with your life. You won't be troubled by her ever again" Kyle placed a hand on Freddie's shoulder.

"Thanks mate, I'll be in touch if I ever need you again" Freddie smiled, he then made his way to the chip shop, Kyle threw the bracelet it landed in there with a huge gulp.

Around an hour later Freddie returned home, acting as if nothing had gone on.

"There you are! I wondered where you were, thought you had gone to London for the chips or something" Lindsey said with a smile, Freddie placed the chips down on the kitchen side and pulled her into a hug.

"I just wanted a couple of minuets to myself and the queue was horrendous in the chippy, how's everything been here since I left" Freddie asked. Lindsey turned around facing Freddie, he picked up her hands and held them gently.

"Everything's been fine, Girls are asleep so I managed to catch up on a bit of housework" Lindsey said with a smile, Freddie dropped her hands and wrapped his arms around her waist.

"I'm glad babe, We won't have the dirty house police knocking on our door any time soon then" Freddie laughed, Lindsey joined in with the laughter.

Once Freddie and Lindsey had demolished the chips they were sat on the sofa in front of the TV, Lindsey was sat with her head rested on Freddie's shoulder their hands intertwined.

"Are you ready for my little announcement then?" Lindsey asked out of the blue, Freddie looked down at Lindsey with a smile on his face.

"Yeah babe whenever you're ready, please tell me it's something good I don't think I can handle anything else dramatic today" Freddie laughed, Lindsey shook her head.

"It's much better than that Fred, you know I said I wasn't feeling my best yesterday morning?"Lindsey said with a huge smile on her face.

"Yeah" Freddie said, now looking a little concerned, Lindsey picked up on it.

"Freddie, don't look so nervous I'm not unwell I'm having a baby!" Lindsey beamed, Freddie got up off of the sofa grabbing her hand and swinging her around in a ball room dancing style twirl.

"Yes! This is happening at just the right time, I'm so happy Lindsey" Freddie said, hugging her tightly and swinging her around the round the room.

"Be careful Fred you'll give me and the baby motion sickness" Lindsey laughed as Freddie loosened his grip on her.

"Let's hope the baby is quite the comic just like their mummy" Freddie smirked.

"I popped in for an appointment today and my scan is on the 27th of this month" Lindsey announced.

"That's brilliant news! We'll be able to see our amazing little new human on screen" Freddie said.

"I hope it's a girl it would be nice to have another little lady ruling the roost" Lindsey said with a hopeful smile, Freddie shook his head in a mock annoyance.

"Oh no Linds, I reckon it's going to be a boy I'm pretty outnumbered in this house at the moment. It won't be so bad when we move back to Hollyoaks though" Freddie said, quickly regretting the last phrase.

"Since when are we moving back to Hollyoaks?" Lindsey said with a puzzled look on her face.

Before Freddie could answer the 10pm news made Lindsey and Freddie's eyes dart straight to the TV...
