LET THE BATTLE COMMENCE

"Knew I'd find you here." Percy heard the person who had just flopped down next to him on the sand say.

Percy had a few hours ago left Fleur at his apartment safe house. The girl was still recovering and needed her rest and Percy wanted to think. He needed to think of what he was going to do. He had succeeded in convincing the blonde to keep quiet about him. He had convinced her in not revealing his identity to others.

"Finally ungrounded I see." stated Percy.

"Seeing a familiar face usually makes people happy."

"I am happy to see you Eudokia," said Percy.

Eudokia leaned forward and placed a small peck on Percy's right cheek and beamed at him.

"I wasn't expecting to see you during the remainder of this quest though," said Percy, "what exactly did you do to convince them to let you go?"

"How did you know that I was grounded and not simply avoiding you?" asked Eudokia.

Percy shifted himself to his right, taking his eyes of the sea and turning his sight on Eudokia. She looked more beautiful in the light of the setting sun, her long hair whipping backwards due to the sea breeze.

"You almost gave away the plans which the gods had for Me." said Percy, "naturally you'd be grounded."

"Also," added Percy, "there are worse things than that could happen but you are the daughter of 'THE GOD' so you got off light."

"They are not happy." informed Eudokia.

"You don't say!" exclaimed Percy, "If the constant thunder sound didn't tell me that, I don't know what else would have."

"Why did you tell that zygon girl who you really are?" asked Eudokia.

"Tell her who I really am!?" roared Percy, "They forced me to let her believe that I was a god and not just a demigod."

"If you had such problems with that you could have simply made her believe that the magic of Harry Potter made the monsters run away." Eudokia pointed out.

"Then I'd be lying." Protest Percy.

"You have been lying," pointed out Eudokia, "you have lied to her from the very day you meet her."

"And I can't go complaining if she decides to hate Me." said Percy in a low voice. "I brought it on myself."

"Don't worry Percy," said Eudokia, "nobody can stay mad at you for long."

Percy stayed silent for a while taking his gaze back at the sea. Watching the waves trying not to think of the events which had taken place the previous day and what had followed it. Percy felt as Eudokia rested her head on his right shoulder. Usually he would have forced her away but today he himself needed the comfort and her presence being familiar was somewhat comforting. The only sound was of the waves and the breeze.

"This thing has gone on for too long," said Percy out of the blue making Eudokia raise her head from her rest and look at him in confusion.

"The quest has dragged a bit too long to my liking," clarified Percy, "I have to end this and end this quick."

"How do you plan to do that?" asked Eudokia.

"The quest was to make Tom Marvolo die-able." said Percy, "His soul anchors need to be destroyed. I'm almost there. I know the location of one but before getting to it I need to find one more before." Turing to truly face Eudokia, "you are resourceful Eudokia, I want you to help me find it."

"What makes you think I'll help you?" challenged Eudokia, "and what's in it for me?"

"What's in it?" said Percy, "you swore allegiance to me. Not in front of me, no but in front of my father and I know he accepted it in my favor. That is what is in it for you."

"How did you learn that!?" whispered a shocked Eudokia.

"The gods were more successful than I wanted them to be." said Percy, "I am more aware than I have ever been or ever wanted to be."

Percy sighed but continued, "They sent me on this quest, on this secluded world so that they could go ahead with their plans without me being able to put a stop to it." Percy let out a humorless laugh, "how many temples have they gotten built. My dad has turned the entire of the sea into worshipers of great Perseus. He even decreed that the first sacrifice had to be made in my honor. The gods have been using my absence to change the view of the world about me."

"They want you to be a god." said Eudokia.

"Ha," scoffed Percy, "they want to strengthen their hold on the changing world and are convinced that increasing their numbers is the solution."

"They are not wrong." said Eudokia.

"And that worries me."

"You could be a god! You could live forever." insisted Eudokia.

"Could there be anything worse than that?"

Percy saw the disbelief in Eudokia's eyes. Percy could understand the nymph's reason. He was a person whom the gods of Olympus were trying to make one of them and he was refusing.

"I'm a demigod Eudokia," explained Percy, "living forever, never growing old, watching as friends and family grow old and wither away is not something I want to experience. Besides I'd get bored very soon and that's never a good thing."

"I could keep you entertained." offered Eudokia a bit shyly the coloring of her cheeks being the indication.

Percy resisted the urge to laugh. Percy knew that the nymph had feeling mostly of romantic nature towards him. He wanted to discourage her in that regard but didn't want to hurt her in the process. History was proof that a vengeful nymph no matter how week compared to you could cause great harm.

"Eudokia," said Percy, "I want your help. I want you to find for me that one last piece. I'm sure that that piece is some sort of a tiara. I want you to find it, destroy it."

"What if I fail?" asked the nymph.

"Don't worry, we won't fail." assured Percy.

"So how exactly am I to do this?" asked Eudokia after a few moments of silence.

"I need you to retrace his steps, Tom Riddle's steps," explained Percy, "I'd do it myself but it would take me lot of time, time which I don't want to spend and also it would take me too close to the ancient lands."

"And I won't be attracting as much attention as you." inferred Eudokia.

"Right," said Percy, "finding out where he went, what he did will probably lead us to the tiara. Get to it Eudokia, I want it done with as soon as possible."

"I'll need supplies," informed the nymph, "I'll need transport, some spending money."

"I'll transfer some money to your account," said Percy, "transport, I know you can arrange yourselves."

Saying her goodbye Eudokia dissolved into the air. Percy knew that he still had a lot of time to kill. Harry's friends believed that he was with Dumbledore and the headmaster himself believed that Harry Potter was spending time with his friends. He had fail safes in place, he would not be missed or rather Harry Potter would not be missed.

A loud whistle and Blackjack answered the call. Percy decided to return to the castle but midflight he changed his mind.

"Blackjack," said Percy, "I think I should pay Lyra a visit. Change course buddy."

"Right away boss," said Balckjack, "do you think she'd have donuts?"

Percy couldn't help but chuckle, "don't know, I'll ask her."

When they got to the destination Blackjack decided to graze on the grass. He gave the grass in that area a good rating. "Not as tasty as the ones we got home," he said, "but they are ok."

Percy had to walk almost a mile to get to the house used by Penelope. He could have Blackjack take him closer but he didn't want to risk it. Winky answered the door.

"Johny-son sir!" said the house-elf, whose excitement disappeared the very moment it had shown to be replaced with worry, "mistress be not being well Mister Johny-son sir. She be feeling week. Winky worries sir. She worries for her mistress."

Percy did not try or stop to sooth the elf, he quickly made it inside and reached the living room where the TV was running some movie and curled on the sofa with blankets covering her was Penelope.

"Hey." said Penelope barely above whisper, "wasn't expecting you so you have to forgive me for being a mess."

"What happened?" asked Percy as he checked to see if Penelope was running a fever.

"Magical exhaustion." replied Penelope, "will take a few days to get better."

"How did you manage this?" asked Percy indicating at her current state.

"She be using all her powers sir!" it was Winky who had spoken, "mistress be using all her power to scare away the happiness stealers."

"Explain Penny." ordered Percy.

"Winky would you please give us some privacy?" asked Penelope and the house-elf reluctantly obliged.

"That elf might call me mistress but she thinks of you as her master." said Penelope.

Percy didn't reply but made self comfortable in the nearby armchair.

"Happiness stealers?" prompted Percy.

"I had come by information on a death-eater recruitment cell." Said Penelope, "I was scouting but didn't find a soul. "

Percy saw the girl visibly shudder. "Ran into the happiness stealers, well, more like soul stealers."

"Dementors." guessed Percy.

Percy knew that Penelope didn't really have the grasp of the zygon spell to drive those monsters away.

"How did you get out?" asked Percy.

"I used the sword." said Penelope.

"How many where there?" asked Percy, "It's not easy to fight them off with a sword."

"No, no," said Penelope, "I didn't fight them with the sword, like attacking them with it or something, no. I just ended up channeling my magic through it. I cast the patronus using the sword like a wand."

"Wow." said Percy clearly surprised he had not expected the sword to be capable of channeling magic, not zygon magic at such levels, "and then you ended up using all of your powers."

"Perry," said Penelope, "do you think the sword might be sentient?"

"It's just sword Penny." said Percy, "magical yes, special yes, but what makes you think that it would be sentient?"

"It's just that it spoke to Me." answered Penelope.

"It spoke to you!?" asked Percy with surprise clear on his face.

"Well," hesitated Penelope, "I think it spoke to me."

Percy nodded his head indicating her to elaborate.

"You see there were hundreds of dementors there." said Penelope.

"How many of those awful creatures are there?" wondered Percy allowed.

"Nobody knows," said Penelope, "no one's bothered to count. Anyways, as I was saying I think the sword spoke to me. I could hear a voice giving me advice, encouraging me, telling me not to give in to the dementors. The voice told me to cast the patronus and I just did. I had thought that I had still my wand in hand but it was the sword. I saw it Perry, I saw the shape of my patronus!" Penelope was clearly excited, "it looked like a giant horse with wings! Wings!"

"Pegasus" supplied Percy.

"What!?" puzzled Penelope.

"Horse with wings, they are called Pegasus." clarified Percy, "just don't call them winged horses to their face though. The outcome is never pretty."

"You have seen one!?" asked Penelope.

"I have one in my service." said Percy.

"You have a flying horse!?" Penelope half asked half yelled.

"And that's all I'll say in the matter." said Percy, "You were telling me about the sword."

Penelope seemed like she wanted to talk about the Pegasus but Percy did not give in to her demands and asked her again to continue with her narrative.

"Well the voice said that if I had faith I could cast the charm." said Penelope still miffed about not learning more about flying horses. "I cast the charm, the dementors ran away and I passed out only to wake up on my comfortable bed."

"You woke up in your bed." Stated Percy prompting Penelope to tell him how she got there.

"Winky brought me back." replied Penelope.

"That's nice of her." said Percy.

"It is," agreed Penelope, "but I had specifically asked her to retire for the night, yet she found me."

"You are complaining about that." said Percy, "you were in unknown tertiary. She brought you back."

"I asked her how she found," said Penelope, "actually I asked her why she found me."

"Didn't you want to be rescued?" asked Percy.

"Being rescued is not the point." Said an exasperated Penelope, "that fact she came looking for me is what concerns me."

"You were inside enemy territory, hurt, blacked out," listed Percy, "Winy rescued you. You should be grateful."

"I am grateful!" said an indignant Penelope, "Winky is a house-elf bound to me! But she took orders from you. She came looking for me because you asked her to."

"Penny," said Percy trying to be as soothing as possible, "I did ask Winky to check up on you every three hours to make sure that you were safe."

"Why!?" asked Penelope. "Don't you trust me? Do you think I am not competent enough, competent enough to look after myself? Or is it that you don't trust me."

"I trust you, Penelope." declared Percy, "I would trust you with my life and I know you are very capable, I know you are skilled."

Percy knew that he had to be careful with his words. The girl was clearly upset more at herself than with Percy. Blacking out while within enemy territory almost always end in tragedy and Penelope was upset, upset that she could easily met such a fate.

"I have you on missions where you are outnumbered, out gunned," said Percy, "I have sent you in without back up. Winky is been checking up on you, yes, but she is loyal to you Penny. She wasn't reporting to me." Making sure to keep eye contact Percy continued, "She was looking out for you not just for you but mostly for me."

"She is spying on me for you?" asked an upset Penelope.

"No, no, no," repeated Percy, "she is not spying on you Penny."

Percy was at loss about what to say. It seemed that the day itself was against him, first Fleur and now Penelope. His luck seemed to have run out.

"Please, you have to understand," said Percy, "I have been in many conflicts. I have seen battles, wars and many of those I have fought without any back up. I have seen my friends die as I stood there helpless. I swore to myself that I'll not let that happen again."

Penelope stared at Percy for a long time in silence before nodding, "I guess being tired is what has me in this state. I'm sorry, I over reacted."

"And I'm sorry I didn't tell you about it before hand," said Percy, "I had actually forgotten about it."

"I always thought that you kept an eye on Me." said Penelope, "I used to do random checks of the house hopping to find hidden cameras."

"I don't do that Penny, I'd never do such a thing," reassured Percy, "and even if I had wanted to do such a thing I don't really have the resources and man power to make it a reality."

They just sat there just staring at each other with nothing really to do. In the background the movie was still running on the LED screen though the volume had been turned down.

"It's getting late," said Percy, "and you need your rest."

"Do you have to leave?" asked Penelope.

"I'm afraid so," replied Percy, "There are a few things that I have to do."

Percy left Penelope to her rest and walked a safe distance from the house called on Blackjack.

"Get me to the castle buddy."

Darkness had taken over as Blackjack flew at great speeds.

The very first sight of the castle from afar had Percy urging Blackjack go faster.

"Blackjack, take me closer," said Percy, "I think we have a situation at our hands. Or it's my hands and your hooves really."

"Do I have to boss!?" neighed the Pegasus in protest, 'that place stinks."

"There is a dark mark on the sky near one of the towers Blackjack." said Percy, "that symbol means that Tom Riddle's followers are here. If they are here then lives are in danger."

"OK, boss," said Blackjack, "if you think it's the best."

Percy had Blackjack take a wider route. He didn't want his friend flying directly over the village of Hogsmeade. Soon they were flying over the black Lake and Percy felt the wards of the Castle.

"I'll be taking off here blackjack," said Percy, "be alert and ready, I'll call you if situation demands."

Percy plunged into the water. The water welcomed him and Percy willed it to take him forward. It took him only seconds to make it to the small harbor by the castle. Percy did not waste a second as the very moment he jumped out of the water he spirited inside the castle. As he ran he glanced at the portraits which were all empty. He wanted answers,' what was happening. Was it really a death-eater attack? How many of them were there?'

Percy spirited through corridors, scaled through the steps. He was feeling bit out of breath. He realized that he was a bit out of shape. The high fat food which the wizards served at the school as opposed to high protein diet of the camp was affecting his overall health. Suddenly Percy lost his balance and only his inherent battle reflexes saved him from falling head first on the marble steps.

"Styx!" Percy cursed and thunder boom in a distance.

'Vanishing steps!' if he ever found out whose idea it was to have steps randomly disappear he would kill them personally.

'Maybe I should send an email to Hades,' thought Percy darkly, 'to punish the guy extra hard.'

Taking a few moments catch his breath and to gather his surroundings he found on the wall a shield and two spears mounted for decoration valve. Percy plucked one of the spears as he took off once again. He knew the tower over which dark mark shone to be the astronomy tower and he had to get there quick.

A few more minutes of running and now he could hear the shouts of battle. Percy slowed down and with a small left turn he came to a halt. The battle was raging in front of him. Powerful zygon spells were being thrown around like they were candy on Halloween. The hall way was crowded with people some Percy recognized as the members of order of Phoenix and others who he could not recognize as individuals but from their appearance could say were death-eaters.

"It's over, time to go." Percy heard Severus Snape declare.

A large tall blonde was throwing spells all around and one such spell came straight at Percy. Percy was not really bound by ancient laws but years of spending time in the mythical atmosphere had him respect them none the less. As the spell came close to him Percy side stepped letting it go past him and hit the wall harmlessly. Not so much harmless to the wall but to living beings. Percy had just got the invitation to enter the battle this brought a smile to his face. Anyone who if they had stopped to see that smile would have been terrified but no one had noticed him yet. Percy sent the spear sailing towards the blonde man casting the curses and by some luck the spear pierced his heart. Such unexpected end of one of the fighters made every single one those involved to pause for a second.

"You guys are having a party and you didn't think of inviting me?" said Percy raising his voice making sure that most heard him, "I'm truly disappointed."

"Avada kedavra" shouted a woman in dark robes.

Perestrefo was already in action as it absorbed the curse without any problem. For anyone but Percy it looked like the spell had hit him.

"Death-eaters!" said Percy out loud, "if you are smart, if you value your continued existence, if you have any plans of seeing tomorrow. Throw away those silly sticks of yours and surrender."

"Avada kedavara" cursed the very person who had done it before and failed again.

Percy took out his trusty ball point pen and uncapped it. Gasps were heard all around.

"Sorcerer of vengeance!" yelled some of the death-eaters.

Riptide was glowing in the faint light as Percy stood in front of them tall and stared down at them, letting his presence fill the room.

"Kill him!" shouted one of the death-eaters. Almost every death-eater standing took aim and fired the kill curse with no effect on Percy as Peristrefo had absorbed them all.

"I guess it's my turn." said Percy as he charged. The order member who had stopped to see the commotion had regained their wits also attacked the death-eaters.

Percy saw as Snape who was at the scene instead of engaging in battle against the death-eater just took hold of one Draco Malfoy and dragged the boy away. For a second Percy thought of drawing the guy into the battle but he was distracted by a death-eater who had tried to seize him. It only took Percy a slash of his sword to behead the offender whom he latter recognized as Greyback the werewolf.

Just two feet from where Percy had killed Greyback he saw a red headed person lying in a pool of blood but Percy did not have time to look further into the situation as the woman who had been the first to shoot the curse at him was now in front of him pouring curses. Percy ordered Peristrefo to guard his back used his sword to deflect any curse which was aimed at him. The curses itself did not have the ability to cause him any particular harm but it could cause him discomfort and in a battle it can be crucial.

"Coward! You fight like a filthy muggle!" screeched the woman.

"And you are as ugly as witches are described in their books." Shot back Percy. "Did you have to work very hard to get that face or was it that your father slept with his sister to produce you."

The woman shrieked loudly before she sent out a torrent of curses from her wand. Percy had to bring Peristrefo in front of him as blocking that number of spells was not easy with just his sword. Percy saw that the outburst had left his opponent tired as he saw her wheezing for air. With just a though Percy had Peristrefo behead the woman in front of him.

"Alceto!" shouted a lumpy looking man who had been fighting Remus Lupin, as a blast from his wand sent Lupin flying. He ran towards Percy sending hexes and other such offensive zygon magic at Percy with no avail.

"She was named after a kindly one?" asked Percy expecting no answer but he simply advanced towards the person and knocked him out. He needed at least one death-eater alive so that he could find out how they got into the castle. The rest of the death-eater had already run away when they had gotten a chance but a man with brutal-looking face was just then trying to make his way to safety. Percy had by then reached the corpse of the very first death-eater he had killed and pulled out the spear and sent the said spear straight at the person trying to flee.

Percy slowly started walk towards the unconscious death-eater but as he looked around to see the damage that had happened he saw that the members of order of Phoenix were pointing their wands at him.

"I just killed a bunch of terrorist right in front of you lot," said Percy, "and your reaction is to point your silly sticks at me."

"You just killed them." said McGonagall," you killed them in cold blood."

"Your point being?" asked Percy.

Percy heard the previously unconscious man groan as he was regaining consciousness. Percy kicked the man hard and forced the man unconscious. The members of the order did not lower their wands, but after having seen the display he had put up he doubted that would actually attack him.

"I think you lot should tend to your wounded." advised Percy, "if the red head guy down there is one of yours he needs immediate medical attention." It was Tonks who made the move she went and checked on the person.

"Bill!" she said trying to wake him up. "Bill, answer me."

"He's bleeding! Thank Merlin! He's still breathing" announced Tonks.

"Greyback bit him," postulated Percy as he saw the wounds on the poor guys face and made the connection.

Transport was soon arranged for Bill Weasley. Percy hoped the guy would recover. For Fleur' sake he hoped the guy would recover. Only McGonagall and Lupin were left and they still had their wands trained on him.

"If my plan were to hurt you, you already would have been dead." said Percy, "Drop those sticks. I won't harm you."

McGonagall and Lupin looked at each other having a silent conversation and then finally they lowered their wands.

"Who are you?" asked McGonagall.

"You heard the death-eaters." said Percy, "surely you can guess."

"Sorcerer of vengeance." Said Lupin, "but who are you really."

"I'm the oncoming storm." declared Percy.

"That does not tell us who you are. We want to know who you are." said McGonagall, "You look be mid twenties. I remember every single of my students you were not one of them."

"Who are you?" questioned McGonagall, "are you a foreigner?"

"And how did you survive those killing curses." added Lupin.

Percy chose to ignore them. "Let's have our chat later as we have a guest we need to entertain." said Percy indicating towards the still unconscious. "Would you please secure him so we can have a little chat with him?"

After a bit of hesitation it was Remus Lupin who acted. He conjured a chair on which Percy made the prisoner sit and McGonagall then made sure that the death-eater was secure. When on a later date they were asked as to why they did as the sorcerer asked they would never be able to give a convincing answer, not just to others but also to themselves. Remus had identified the person as Amycus.

"Hello Amycus," said Percy, "I have a few-"

Percy's words were cut short as the man in captivity had just spit on his face. And that earned Amycus a broken little finger.

"There are two hundred and six bones in an adult human body." Said Percy, "If you don't tell me what I want to know Amycus, I'll break every single one of yours."

"Release me this instant you filthy mudblood," roared Amycus, "I'll kill you. You killed my sister. I'll tear you apart with my bare hands."

"How did you get inside Hogwarts," asked Lupin, "tell us or I'll be calling Dumbledore."

Amycus left out a bark like laughter, "that Dumby old coot is dead." He declared, "We killed him."

"You are lying!" yelled McGonagall as she slapped the death-eater.

"Tell me everything Amycus and I promise I'll release you." The way Percy said it had Amycus singing in no time.

He reveled how Draco Malfoy had been ordered by Voldemort to kill Dumbledore, Malfoy's discovery of the vanishing cabinet, the boys various failed attempts at killing the headmaster, the plan of their arrival, Snape's involvement and how it had been Snape who in the end had killed Dumbledore. Amycus did not pause, he told them everything.

Percy took out his sword and then and there beheaded Amycus.

McGonagall let out a cry of shock and disbelief, Remus Lupin was not far behind.

"You promised to release him if he talked." reminded an aghast Lupin.

"I just did," said Percy, "I released his corrupted head from his inbred body."

I thank you all for your continued support.

one of you suggested a lengthier summary. i'm aware that the summary is lacking but even after trying for almost a month i have failed to come up with a better summary. i'll keep trying though and see what i come up with.

thank you all once again. see you all next chapter.
