EDWARD'S BIRTHDAY

"So, you leave for a quick mountain lion trip tonight, and he will be back around four in the afternoon tomorrow. Take him to my house." I said, talking with Emmett quietly.

Edward was out with Alice doing God knows what and I took this opportunity to talk to Emmett about our plan for Edward's birthday.

Edward literally thinks I have no idea when his birthday is so he shouldn't be expecting anything.

"How do you know Edward's birthday again? He hates us knowing so we haven't celebrated in decades," Emmett said.

"I am a self-proclaimed biggest Twilight fangirl I know in the entire parallel universe I was born and raised in. I know when Edward Cullen's birthday is," I said.

"Okay boss, definitely doable." Emmett saluted me.

I rolled my eyes. "Oh! And don't mention anything about his birthday or how I know. Think happy, distracting thoughts."

Later at night, I smiled when I heard my phone buzz.

My idiot brothers are taking me on a surprise hunting trip. I won't be there tonight, I am sorry.

I can tell he went down with a fight and this made me giggle. I text him back, Don't worry about me. Have fun with your fam!

His response was almost immediate. I won't. Love you.

I texted him back an 'I love you' and settled into bed.

Tomorrow is a big day!

EDWARD'S POV

My girlfriend is a tricky one. I should've known the trip couldn't have been as spontaneous as Emmett as put it out to be, but I went along with it. Who in the right mind would turn down mountain lion?

It wasn't until, maybe this morning, when I knew something was up when Emmett started to sing the That's So Raven theme song inside his head. It took a lot of torturing, but I got it out of him.

Aubrie.

I wanted to go home early to dodge the birthday festivities but Emmett persuaded me to stay with the threat of an angry Aubrie ruining her plans for me and that I should suck it up and go along with it.

I sulked for a second but sifted through Emmett's now undistracted head to see what she had in store for me, but Aubrie knew this was probably going to happen and left him in the dark as well.

When we finally returned to Forks at four, I drove to Aubrie's house. I saw a white card propped on her doorknob and her truck gone. I read it and chuckled.

#1 I am a shitty rhymer for the most part,

But you hold a special place in my heart,

Because of this and it's your birthday,

A special quest was thwarted your way

This location you need to go is a special one,

When we first met, it wasn't fun,

I am not a criminal and this building isn't open in the summer,

When we go back it'll be a bummer ,

(GO WHERE WE FIRST MET, NOT LITERALLY BECAUSE THE DOORS ARE LOCKED BUT YOU GET IT)

I drove to Forks High and went to the front door and saw a familiar white card like the one at her home. I snatched it and groaned. This is going to be a wild goose chase, I just know it.

#2 School sucks and so do you,

But I'm glad you found this clue

The next place you need to go is a yummy one

Vanilla, chocolate, strawberry, we have a ton

(GO WHERE I WORK)

I drove the short drive to downtown Forks where most of the shops and restaurants are located and saw the sign for Put A Fork In It. I got out of the car and walked in, scanning the room for the white cards.

"Oh my God, Edward Cullen," A familiar blonde shrieked, causing a slight disturbance in the shop.

"Hi Hunter," I greeted.

"You're fifteen minutes ahead of schedule so I'm going to have to ask you to take a seat. Can I treat you with some ice cream? On the house since it's your b-day and all." Hunter rambled, tapping her thumb against the countertop.

I scowled. "How did you know it's my birthday?"

"Mr. Grumpy needs to turn his frown upside down because one of my best friends has been planning this day for a long time wanting to make it special." Hunter chastised. "Now ice cream?"

I shook my head. "No thanks."

"I'm sorry you have to wait, you must've found the other clues faster than Aubrie expected you to." Hunter smiled sheepishly.

"Does she think I'm an idiot? She wrote the location at the bottom in all caps." I frowned, looking at the past clues.

Hunter laughed. "She did, look at the other clue."

Hunter handed me a piece of paper with the new clue written out.

#3 I can sense your frustration from where I stand,

Relax baby, I've given you a helping hand,

Hunter knows where to go next,

Follow her and send me a text.

(FOLLOW HUNTER YOU DON'T HAVE TO SEND ME A TEXT I DIDN'T KNOW WHAT ELSE RHYMED)

I laughed at Aubrie's antics. She was insane.

"She was pissed at the ice cream clue because it took her thirty minutes to write," Hunter said matter-of-factly.

I looked at clue number two. It looked simple enough.

Hunter picked up on my curious gaze. "She wanted to add orange in the list of flavors and have it end there, but she couldn't find anything that rhymed with orange."

I laughed silently at the thought of Aubrie's eyebrows furrowed in extreme concentration. "Do you want to give me the next location instead of waiting for fifteen minutes?"

Hunter shrugged. "Why not? Go to the movie theater. The crappy one smack dab between Forks and Port Angeles, not the nice one in Port Angeles. "

I walked out of the ice cream shop and got in my car. I'm sure Aubrie was very amused about blind siding me with this surprise by her tone in the clues.

When I finally reached the sketchy theater, I went to the front desk and a card was taped on the window. I grabbed it and headed out the door before I read it.

#4 The movie theater is a pretty random place,

You think I'm drawing this out unnecessarily by the look on your face,

Here is a very special location,

Fuck it nothing else rhymes go to where our first date was

I laughed at her literature and drove the twenty minute drive to Port Angeles. I sincerely hoped that this was the last clue. Once I reached the Italian restaurant and saw Aubrie's truck, I smiled. It's only been twenty-four hours, but I've missed her. And I really wanted to spend my whole birthday with her.

I walked into the cozy place and the hostess approached me with a flirtatious smile. "Can I help you?"

I smelled Aubrie's scent from here and smiled at the loveliness of it. "No, my girlfriend is here already."

I walked confidently to the private booth where we were a few months ago and saw Aubrie's face brighten when I came into her vision.

"Edward! Happy birthday!" She cried, getting out of the booth and wrapping her arms around me.

"How'd you know?" I said in fake anger.

"Twilight fangirl here, the day June 20th has always been reserved for a worship Edward Cullen day since 2006." She said in a smile and kissed me on the lips. "Relax and sit down. Tell me how you're day has been."

"Well it would've been better if I got to spend the whole day with you," I commented, kissing her hand sweetly.

Aubrie smiled slightly. "I have to make you work for it. Tell me about your hunting trip." She took a sip of her Dr. Pepper and a bite of her food. I noticed it was the same thing she ordered the first time we were here.

I talked about the minor details and she listened to it intently as she finished her food. When she got her check, we battled quickly who got to pay. Of course I won.

"It's your birthday," she grumbled, crossing her arms over her chest. "And you didn't even eat!"

"Too bad," I said smiling at her as she stuck her tongue at me.

"Oh my God, here's your birthday card, I almost forgot." She said as she rummaged through her bag and found a yellow envelope.

I rose an eyebrow and opened it. On the card it said 'Happy 18th Birthday!'. I laughed at that. "I am eighteen now?"

She blushed. "They didn't have 108, this was the best I could do."

I opened it and saw it said a cliché message about all my dreams coming true and read Aubrie's note.

Your quest isn't done,

You only have one more destination not a ton,

This place is perhaps the most important to me,

Where we go you'll just have to see

"One more place, huh?" I said teasingly.

Aubrie nodded. "Follow me in my car."

We got out in our respective vehicles and I followed closely behind her, actually annoyingly just to be a pain. She break checked me a few times, but I could tell she thought it was funny by the smile in the rearview mirror.

We were on the highway and then she parked off on the side. We are going to the meadow.

I got out of the car and looked at her accusingly. "Is this the final location?"

She giggled. "Yes birthday boy, no more cheesy rhymes."

She hopped on my back and I dashed to the meadow. I gasped when I saw what I saw. There were lights strung through the trees and a big cushy bed right in the middle of it.

"The bed was Alice's idea," Aubrie rolled her eyes. "It's not supposed to rain and it's supposed to stay cool. My dad thinks I'm staying with Natalie and I brought a change of clothes. I thought we, well I, could sleep under the stars tonight in our special meadow." She bit her lip. "Is this okay?"

I was still in awe. "This is more than okay."

Aubrie smiled brightly. "Good! Here are some sleep clothes I packed for you and myself."

I quickly put on the pajama shorts and the plain t-shirt while she put on the sleep shorts and long sleeve top. She climbed in the bed and started to get comfortable.

"You're so beautiful," I whispered as I saw her snuggle into the pillows.

She smiled sweetly. "And you're so hot! Come in with me,"

I laughed and got under the covers with her and wrapped her up into me.

"Did you really think we were going to go to sleep so quickly? It's like seven." Aubrie raised an eyebrow.

"Well, what are we going to do?" I asked, a little confused.

Aubrie smirked and rolled onto me. Then she started to kiss me and they gradually got lower.

Happy birthday to me.

Author's Note: (PLEASE READ)

Lololol I suck at writing boy. You use your imagination of what happened there, except it wasn't sex because that comes LAAATTTTEEEERRRR.

I did this update, finally!, for a few things.

1) It was about time, right? I have an agenda of what summer chapter comes out in a specific order because it's in chronological order. I put this off for a long time because honestly, I had NO CLUE what I was going to do for his birthday. I hope this is okay.

2) I know I haven't updated the sequel and the summer chapters in FOREVER and I understand I probably lost a lot of fans and that there really isn't a good reason for being gone as long as I was. I can tell you one thing, this story has never slipped from my mind and I have every intention on finishing it.

3) New Moon is kicking my butt right now. The chapter I've been working on and off again for months, THE END, is very emotional and I want to get it right, you feel me? It currently lies at 6,432 words and I'm not even to the actual leaving part yet. This Edward is a little darker than real Edward and I wanted to make it pretty dramatic and realistic why he's leaving. The bond and relationship I wrote for Aubrie and Edward is different than Edward and Bella's. Book reasons why Edward left just wasn't enough for me to make Edward leave, so of course, I throw in an another event to push him over this metaphorically cliff.

4)BIG CASTING NEWS. lol I feel like I'm getting a movie and it's totes not the reason why BUT I have everyone's "actor" picked out on who plays who EXCEPT for Aubrie. I have a poll on my profile and so far the leading people, and the people I like myself, are Lucy Hale, Rachel Bilson, and Kendall Jenner. I have pictured each of them as Aubrie and I need help on who you think it is. So either review your pick or vote on my poll.

5) I love you guys very much and you all mean the world to me. Every now and then I get a little email notification saying so and so followed me or so and so PMed me. Thank you so much for sticking with this story. I can promise you that tonight, January 4th, I will finish THE END from New Moon and post it on this very day. (It actually might be January 5th because it's rather late) BUT I WILL NOT SLEEP UNTIL IT'S DONE. I also promise to post more frequently and move this story to one of my top priorities.
