Little Veena stood silently as her father scolded the guard in front of him.

"How could you not notice that they were missing?"

The guard hung his head. "I'm sorry, Your Majesty. I truly thought the princes were in the nursery the entire time. I have no idea how they could have gotten past me."

Her father shook his head. "Those boys are in trouble now." He turned to look at little Veena. "Precious, do you have any idea where your brothers are? I'm surprised Fenris isn't with you."

She frowned. "He said he wanted to play with them and not me.

Her father sighed. "You are excused, Captain Emeric. I'll have to find my sons myself." He turned away from the guard. "Come along, Veena. I'll need your help in finding them."

The little princess nodded. "Okay, Daddy."

"Your Majesty, I would like to help find them. After all, they did escape on my watch."

Her father turned back to face him. "You may assist, Captain, if you wish."

The Captain nodded. "Thank you, Your Majesty."

"Daddy, I think I have an idea where they might have gone."

Slowly her father turned and knelt down in front of her. "Where would that be, Precious?"

The little princess smiled oh so sweetly. "Follow me." She turned from her father and began to skip down the hallway.

Chapter 28

Adam watched as the throne room of Castle Greyskull appeared before him. He glanced over at Veena as her staff slowly materialized in her hand.

"We need to either find the Sorceress or the others, and we need to do it fast." She glanced over at him frowning. "Don't you need to transform?"

Giving a slight nod, Adam pulled the Power Sword off his back. '"I just need a few moments to do it."

Veena nodded in return. "Go ahead I'll scout out what's going on." She turned to leave.

"You don't have to leave. You can stay, if you want to."

Veena looked over her shoulder back at him. "We need to find out what exactly is happening. The sooner the better." She turned around and walked out of the throne room.

Frowning, Adam looked down at Cringer. The green tiger looked up at him in return.

Sighing, he raised the sword above his head. "By the power of Greyskull!"

XOXOXOXOX

Veena quickened her pace as she walked towards the closet staircase leading up. The drawbridge had to be up and the gate locked. So the best course of action was to head up to the Castle's roof.

As she reached the door to the roof Veena could hear the fighting outside. Pushing the door open, she was greeted with the sight of Buzz-off and Stratos flying around Beast-man and a few griffins. Taking her eyes from them she quickly surveyed what was going on. Greyskull was being attacked from all sides. Well, all she could see, but they could be trying to dig into the Castle as well.

No one had noticed her yet, which she could use to her advantage. Holding her empty hand out towards Beast-man, Veena began to concentrate. Slowly, just like the Minotaur, the Griffin and its rider began to become encased in ice. The other griffins hectically tried to flee as the frozen rider and griffin fell from the sky.

Buzz-off and Stratos began to look around for the cause of Beast-man's sudden fall. Both men flew closer to the Castle once they notice her against the roof.

"Good timing."

"Where have you been?"

She yelled out to them. "I'll explain later. Tell the others He-man's back."

They nodded and flew off.

Veena glanced behind her. Where was he? Was he waiting for her to come back to the throne room? Distantly she heard a roar come from within the Castle.

Where were they? Was he going to run out of the Castle on the drawbridge? More than likely he had done that before, but now wouldn't really be a good time to do it.

"Where did this army come from?"

Veena turned behind her as He-man walked up behind her with Battlecat right behind him.

Veena frowned. "It isn't Skeletor's?"

He-man shook his head. "Skeletor doesn't have one. Well not like this anyway."

"What does that mean?"

"Skeletor's army is really made up of his followers. Although, Beast-man can control beast and Merman controls some of the seas."

"Those two can't be good news."

"Well, Beast man can't control all beast, but some of those he can are things to be feared."

"Gotcha, but that doesn't explain this." Veena gestured towards the massive army.

He-man shrugged. "I know. They don't look like sea creatures either."

Veena moved closer to the wall separating her from falling into the abyss below, to get a better view of the army. Something about them seemed familiar to her.

The army's rusted metal armor was out of on Eternia. Extremely out of place. They looked like they belonged in one of the books her mother had read to her and her brothers or the Labyrinth actually.

Veena rested her hand on the stone wall as she leaned over it slightly to try and make out the symbol on the dirty surcoats.

"Ve, er ah Veena, what is it?" He-man walked over to her. He too looked over the wall at the troops below. "Where did they come from? Their armor isn't anything I've seen before."

Veena turned to him. "Yes, you have. They are or were part of the Labyrinth's army."

"Are you sure about that?"

She pointed towards one of the soldiers in the front line. "They have my family's crest on their surcoats."

Frowning, He-man turned towards her. "Why would soldiers from the Labyrinth be here?"

"You saw the state of things. More than likely they deserted."

"But why continue to wear the crest of your family? That makes no sense if they deserted to do that."

"True." Veena watched the troops below. He was right. If the troops had deserted her father then why continue to wear the crest. They should be wearing the crest of their new liege.

A voice drifted up above the sounds of fighting and the wind. "Fight for your lives men. The Princess is within that Castle."

Veena quickly looked around and saw the lone man walking in front of the dirty troops.

"We are to rescue the Princess and return her home."

He-man leaned closer to Veena. "It seems someone lied to them."

"I know that voice. It's Captain Emeric. He was one of the guards who watched over me and my brothers."

"Would he recognize you?"

"I don't know." Veena frowned. "I could try talking to him, but they aren't the ones we need to worry about." She pointed towards the glow around Skeletor and Evil-lyn. "That's not good."

He-man looked where she was pointing. "No, it isn't, but we could use the help." Sighing, he glanced at Battle cat. "Take Battle cat. I'll do what I can till you can get to me."

"I don't like that plan."

"It's the best I can do at the moment."

Veena shook her head. "No. We can do better." She looked at the glow. "Don't go near them. I don't think that even you would last long against whatever they are planning. I'll try talking to Captain Emeric. Otherwise just back up the others."

"You know everyone else just goes along with my plans." He gave her a slight smile.

Veena raised an eyebrow. "I'm not everyone else."

So there's the newest chapter. I hope you all enjoyed it. I'm busy away on working on my chapter to be released next month. I'm going to see if I can increase the amount of chapters per month again.
