Chapter 29: Instigation
{Traverse Town Safe Haven Meeting Hall: 4:31pm}
"As some of you may not know, we are a conglomerate effort designed to help defeat the group known as Organization Thirteen, and the man known as Xehanort Erebus." the blonde woman at the far end of the table frowned.
"Might I ask why you've brought in so many new people? From the letter I received, it was impressed upon me that the summons was for meager Alliance talk," she stated as Master Yen Sid nodded.
"To a degree it is, Fifth Hokage Tsunadae; however, it is undeniable that preparations are important to help quell any forces that may desire to assault us when our guard could potentially become lowered." the woman sighed.
"Very well, but I do have a problem with not knowing who I am going to be discussing this with," Tsunadae argued as Noctis shrugged.
"She has a good point. Everyone in the hallway was really quiet save for a few, and I don't really think any of us know any information save from the dossiers." the man in the yellow suit laughed in a bellowing manner.
"Right you are young man! If we are to become comrades, we have every right to know who we are siding with," he stated in his deep, strong voice.
"Then how about you start us off?" the man was met with a series of stares, and a sigh came from Noctis.
"Very well! I hail from a world of Heroes, known by some as United. My normal name is Toshinori Yagi, but my Hero name is All Might, pleasure to meet you all!" he introduced himself with charisma and a bright grin, causing some of them to stare surprised, but no less amused by his kind and bright nature.
"Good to meet you as well, now whom else would like to introduce themselves?" the person next to King Mickey stood, gaining attention from the others.
"My name is Zack Fair, I'm a resident of Hollow Bastion, and work within the Coalition as an informant and combative front liner when needed," he explained as the others present seemed to take in the details before Zack passed it off to the next person, who happened to be Noctis.
He introduced himself, using his title though he was dressed in his typical Crownsguard attire, and it genuinely surprised a few to learn who he was, even though they didn't voice it. His gaze rested upon those that stared a touch longer as the person next to him began to explain who they were with a simple smile, taking note for the first time how cold this individual felt.
"My name is Jack Frost, I'm from Burgess, and am the Guardian of Levity. Good to meet all of you," he said with a smirk, blue eyes twinkling while the person next to him shifted a bit.
"I am Markarov Dreyer, my homeworld is Earthland, and I am the current Master of the FairyTail guild, and one of the Ten Wizard Saints. It is a pleasure to meet all of you today, and it is good to see you again Albus, Master Yen Sid, King Mickey." it was as he finished that the old man in the hallway smiled, chuckling just a fraction as Noctis turned his attention to him.
"Ah, good to see you doing well Markarov, and to you, King Mickey, and Yen Sid, my old friend. To those who do not know, I am Albus Percival Wolfric Brian Dumbledore, Headmaster of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, the Wizarding World is my homeworld, and its a pleasure," he stated, causing the others to smile just a bit at his calming demeanor whilst the woman next to him nodded her head.
"Right, I am Tsunadae Senju, fifth Hokage of the Hidden Leaf Village. My homeworld is known to some as Shinobi, it is good to meet you all." although her name had been spoken, she knew keeping details, however minimal could count against her later, and it wasn't something she was keen on. At her finishing though, the gaudily clad man in a cream and pink top hat laughed.
"Well then, I suppose its my turn. I am Mephisto Pheles, Headmaster of True Cross Academy, from the world of True Cross, and an Exorcist of the Vatican. Pleasure, " he stated in a lofty tone as a faint noise of both curiosity and slight doubt came from the black and green clad teenager to his right.
"Something the matter young man?" sharp green eyes looked the brightly colored individual over.
"I just happen to know a few exorcists myself, and you don't quite cross me as one is all." Mephisto laughed.
"Well, I suppose I wouldn't coming from a hybrid such as yourself who wields a demon possessed weapon," he pointed out while the other rolled his eyes.
"Yes, but I just find it hard to believe that a demon would side with the Vatican. Anyways, I'm Second Lieutenant Yuuichiro Hyakuya of the Japanese Imperial Demon Army, my division is the Moon Demon Company, and my Unit of which I am in charge of is the Anteiku Specialized Unit of the world known as Owari." a few surprised looks came to those present.
"Your that high up in the ranks and in charge of a specialized unit at your age?" asked the purple haired woman while Yuuichiro nodded.
"In my world everyone contributes or is in the military. Our world already ended once, so we all have to work double time to manage to keep our heads above the sea of blood right now." the statement garnered a few concerned looks as the purple haired woman sighed.
"Very well, I understand, and as for myself, I am Mirelia Q. Melromarc, Queen of Melromarc, my homeworld is Yuusha, and I am pleased to meet you all," she stated, having stood and given a slight bow before taking her seat as the person near her looked around the room before standing as well.
"My name is Reiji Akaba, I am the current owner and President of the Leo Corporation, and operator of the Leo Duel School in the world known as Millennium. It is good to meet you." the others greeted, him, and then, turned their attention to the blonde-haired man sitting next to All Might, a small smile on his lips.
"Well, I suspect that leaves me then, doesn't it? Very well, starting off, I am one of the Twelve Magus, my name is Giotto Vongola, and I am also the founder of the Vongola Famiglia, and my homeworld is Katekyoushi," he stated in a calm, gentle tone that held the faintest traces of a underlying tone that would suggest danger, and to not cross him.
With everyone introduced, Noctis settled himself in for what he knew would be a long discussion that undoubtedly would involve politics, the threats of culture violation, the amount of people that would need to be hand picked for the job, how to handle it, resources available, training, preparation, foreign aid rights, and so much more that he only prayed wouldn't be such a serious problem in light of what they would be facing. However, Noctis also realized where the others were coming from, as he himself was a political power in his homeworld, and while some of these individuals may not have been on quite the same terms as himself, the Queen of Melromarc, Lady Tsunadae, or even Markarov, but it didn't change that all of them were here for a reason, and needed to find a common ground in order to thwart what he didn't doubt would be coming soon enough.
"Well then, now that we've all been introduced, shall we begin? Thanks to a few of our intelligence officers in your worlds, it has come to our attention that several of them are in less than good conditions. May I hear the situation from your perspectives?" Master Yen Sid inquired as Noctis tensed.
"This will either be very good, or very bad, I can't really tell at this point."
"First, I don't suppose we should address the lack of activity pertaining to those people who we are supposed to be against? According to the dossiers that were handed out, there has been zero activity from Organization Thirteen since the disappearance of a boy named Sora Seiren, whom I understand is a Keyblade Bearer," Tsunadae stated.
"Ah, yes, that. Sora has been recovered, and actually is at my Castle training further alongside his two comrades, and childhood friends Riku Hirigaya, and Kairi Misaki, a Princess of Heart." Giotto smiled ever so slightly.
"So, like in the olden days, a Princess of Heart was selected to become a Keyblade Bearer? My, seems history likes to repeat itself a bit to much, doesn't it?" he probed as All Might nodded.
"Indeed, though, I must ask, even though your dossiers gave us the break down of the Keyblades, and the remaining information, I do have to inquire as to if anything changed since our information was sent out aside from the recovery of this young man." Master Yen Sid nodded.
"It has. I am afraid that when Sora, Riku, and Kairi had made to depart from their homeworld, an Organization member by the name of Marluxia made their presence known, and seems to have been sent as a messenger, that unfortunately did not give us any exact clues aside from them targeting Sora," he informed them.
"Alright, so they targeted the kid, and now we're all here to do what exactly?" King Mickey glanced them over, and Zack turned his attention to them.
"To see if we can help one another. Undoubtedly, the events taking place in your worlds, are the cause of Xehanort's meddling, and him sending in Organization members who are bringing in Heartless and Nobodies, meaning that these situations could escalate should we not work together to resolve them," he explained as Dumbledore sighed.
"Unfortunately, the Wizarding World has been thrown into chaos with the mixture of events presiding. At current, Hogwarts is the host for the Tri-Wizard Tournament, and I can unfortunately sense the coming of dark storms ahead of us. For now, I know nothing can be truthfully done, but I do have an understanding that for us, at the very least, it is not Xehanort doing it." Zack glowered a bit as he took in this information, recalling something from many years ago.
"Is it him? The Dark Lord, and the Death Eaters? I'm guessing he's going to resurface soon then," he mentioned as Dumbledore nodded.
"I fear the worst, but the Ministry of Magic will not allow me to cease or even momentarily suspend the games as we are attempting to foster a comradery and friendship between ourselves, and two other schools." Queen Mirelia nodded.
"That is a similar situation with us. Melromarc, and the rest of our world is afflicted by things known as the Waves of Calamity that bring horrible, monsters and have cost thousands of lives already. Myself and the remaining three great nations have been debating what to do, but at current haven't decided as of yet on what can be done other than summoning the Four Cardinal Heroes, and I desire to postpone that as long as possible," she informed them as Noctis remained silent, taking in details, mentally recording the information for potential use later on.
"And, what about you? Guardian of Levity?" the spirit of winter sighed.
"The Guardians and I have been lucky, we've already defeated our surge of darkness that came in the form of a person named Pitch Black, but it doesn't change the fact that other worlds are in danger, which is why I volunteered to go," Jack explained to the group before him.
It continued like this for quite some time, All Might mentioned the strange decline in massive criminal activity in United, noting that after his defeat of a super villain known as All For One had really caused to great a deal of panic or major problems; however, the story wasn't the same for everyone.
"So, this in the matter pertaining to Shinobi, if you would, Fifth Hokage," Master Yen Sid asked as Tsunadae nodded.
"We had to contend with a war started by several various individuals, including a woman by the name of Kaguya Otsutsuki who attempted to plunge our world into darkness and chaos. We managed to defeat them, and now we're in a tentative peace, and our best fighters have been able to move on from the war like the rest of us, rebuilding, and marrying, having children of their own. It doesn't change how devastating the war was," she stated, putting a hand to her head in dismay at the memories of what happened while some of the individuals who had been in the middle of war and battlefields wore solemn expressions.
"Judging by your expression Hybrid, I'd say that your world is in no better shape?" Mephisto's comment caused Yuuichiro to narrow his eyes.
"I have a name, please use it," he snapped as the gaudily dressed demon chuckled.
"Very well, I suppose I haven't the choice. True Cross has moderate battles between other demons and our Exorcists, but surprisingly nothing to grand has come from it yet." emerald eyes rolled in annoyance.
"Lucky you. Our world ended in a single night, millions killed almost instantly by a virus unleashed, and only certain people surviving it, most of which were children under the age of twelve. The military my brother, sister, and I are apart of has gone through hell and high water to stop us from dying out thanks to Vampires, and atop that, our forces were stabbed in the back four months ago by the person who was supposed to be one of our leaders so we've had to rebuild. You wanna talk about hell, I think wandering monsters the size of medium buildings, Vampires, Chimera, Werewolves, Ghouls, and a plethora of other things comes pretty close to the top," he stated coldly as Tsunadae sighed.
"I could tell by the look in your eyes that you've seen what real hell is like, so it does make me feel better to know there are those here who understand what rebuilding the world feels like." Reiji adjusted his glasses.
"In that vein, Millennium is not in a much better state. We are a sectioned off world, divided into multiple spaces known as Zones, held together on a ring that thinly connects any of them. Due to my research, and own bearings, I was able to determine specific details pertaining to how to mend our world, but only with granted time, which unfortunately, we are not being granted much of," he informed them as Giotto hummed.
"Well, I believe it would be fair to say that we all bear similar issues. Thus, the Grand Master wishing us to join the World Tree Coalition could benefit us much more than previously thought. Do you not agree?" several of the others looked to him, and Markarov hummed.
"Oh? And, I presume that means your homeworld will assist as well?" butterscotch eyes narrowed.
"My good sir, the Vongola have persistently offered aid to the Coalition throughout time, and I have personally come to aid in the fight even during the Keyblade War. I would not second a guess as to whether or not I would have each and every leader of the Vongola assist until we are eradicated. Granted, I cannot say the same for Simon's family," Giotto admitted as King Micky perked up.
"Is there something wrong with Simon Cozzato?" Giotto shook his head.
"No, he's in as good health as always. However, since his relinquishment of the Mafia family he started alongside my own, there has been a steady decline in power. He now sits as the third Magus alongside myself and Lady Hecate, but his descendants seem to be steadily loosing the power to use magic or at the very least bare good control over the Earthen Flame Magic that his family created and perfected has started to decrease." Reiji frowned.
"May inquire as to why that is? In my research, I did uncover that your Vongola family is quite powerful even soon to be ten generations later. So, I am not sure I understand why Mr. Cozzato's family is falling apart," he asked as Giotto took in a deep breath.
"With magic users, when we reproduce with Mortals, the ability to use magic can potentially be thinned down to the point that the ability to use it completely fades out. I honestly believe that love is far to great of a precious gem to squander on breeding or security in power, my family elected to keep certain bloodlines in place, but Simon's family I fear may have not been granted as much fortune in their abilities being retained. I hear he has a grandson now that is quite powerful, so I pray that with the right situations at hand, their fortune will change in time." All Might hummed.
"But, despite a few quarrels, your world and my own seem to be on the more stable side. As my world's number one hero, I feel it my responsibility to ensure safety to our people, therefore, if you will allow it, I will take up the offer to become allied with the World Tree Coalition," he stated as Master Yen Sid nodded.
"Very well. Now, on the matter at hand, what can each of us do to potentially buy us time to give our chosen individuals time to train, and grow in strength before Xehanort makes his move?"
Silence encroached upon them as they contemplated options, and what could honestly be done to help their homeworlds. Some were undoubtedly more stable than others, and those were the ones that had the most time on their hands; however, worlds such as Millennium, Yuusha, Owari, The Wizarding World, and from Giotto's explanation, Noctis got the sense that Katekyoushi was toeing the line of danger as well. With Lucis in the midst of reconstruction, there was undoubtedly little they could do as of current to assist in other ways besides leaving the circumstances to Iris, Aranea, and however many other comrades they could before departing themselves to do what they could.
However, even if he deployed the Crownsguard and the Kingsglaive, it didn't guarantee that would be enough should one of the weaker worlds come under attack. In addition, sending in Sora, Riku, or Kairi wouldn't do anything more than put them into situations they weren't prepared for, and then there were their other allies that could help, but the Coalition was still small, and amounting that much movement could only cause more problems without question. Sighing, Noctis heard Yuuichiro groan ever so slightly.
"Listen, the reason I was told to come here is because my commanding officer asked that I ensure we joined up with you guys. For now, we can manage, but I'm not leaving here without ensuring alliance," he stated.
"And, why is that Yuuichiro?" the boy sighed, green eyes staring directly at Master Yen Sid.
"Because, I know that eventually, the darkness this Xehanort guy and his Organization are using will reach our doorstep. And regardless of if its tomorrow or ten years from now, I will not sit by and let my home die right in front of me when I can do something to stop it!" he informed them as Jack laughed.
"I'm with him here. Our jobs are to protect children, and we're sure as hell gonna do it. Count the Guardians of Childhood in on it." Zack smiled.
"Good to know, but what of the rest of you?" he asked as Markarov hummed in mild thought.
"We agreed to open our world up two years ago, now, we at FairyTail will at the very least side with the Coalition. Undoubtedly, our power can help one another when the time comes." with a nod, Master Yen Sid observed the others, raising his hand to make a shining gold parchment appear before him alongside a silver quill.
"This is a contractual parchment scroll, write your names, and the names of your homeworld here if you desire to fight alongside us in the coming war that shall undoubtedly unfold before us," he said as the page carefully floated past Noctis, who noted his own name on there from not to long ago.
The first to take it was All Might, who readily signed it without a moment of hesitation, letting it pass to Giotto, who favored signing his name to renew the promises made long ago, Lady Tsunadae followed, writing her name with a note of anxiety as the parchment scroll flew to the next person for them to sign it. Dumbledore signed the scroll, nodding his head as Markarov did so next, quickly proceeded by Mephisto, Reiji, and Yuuichiro before coming to Jack Frost. Finally, the parchment landed in the hands of Queen Mirelia, and she signed it gracefully, letting it float out of her hands steadily as it returned to Master Yen Sid and then vanished without a trace, leaving them to turn their attention to him.
A second later, several pendants of silver, white, and blue formed on the table before each of them on a fine chain of matching braided silver, leaving them moderately confused before Noctis pulled his own out.
"Unlike the ones you used to get here, that one is permanently active. When you sign that scroll, these are given to you as a sign of trust amongst other Coalition members. Now, you can access any of our Safe Havens in any world so long as you have it," he explained.
"Very well, so, now what must we do?" King Mickey cleared his throat.
"On this matter, we know that many of you cannot immediately attend to this requests, but we do have a job for you on occassionally that will be sent to you." they nodded as Reiji turned his attention to the others.
"I forewarn you, I intend within the year to begin preparing for the circumstances attending in my world. I will be amassing a specialized army, and preparing them to help us fight, and work alongside the Coalition in due time," he stated as Master Yen Sid looked to him.
"Ah, you do? Very well, and what do you intend to call these individuals?" Reiji adjusted his glasses.
"The Lancers, Master Yen Sid." the Grand Master nodded.
"Very well, now, on the topic I am certain you all desire to know more of. The Keyblade Bearers," he said as Giotto sighed.
"I was afraid of breaching this subject, but I do feel we should know, compared to our original strength of a minimal five thousand, how many Keyblade Bearers and Masters exist now?" the room became strangely tense as King Mickey's crescentfallen expression sent home the message clearly.
"As of today, there are eight of us, two of which are not traceable, and one is Xehanort Erebus himself," Zack stated. Queen Mirelia placed a hand to her mouth.
"So few?" Giotto shook his head.
"I feared that to be the case. So, I must ask, how can we possibly strengthen those forces?" he probed as the others looked to him.
"Um… what are you talking about?" Noctis huffed.
"Keyblade Bearers can be created at times if they're exposed to another one or touch a Keyblade. But, its not one-hundred percent certain that it'll work. Sometimes, nothing happens, it just depends on the person, otherwise, you end up with nothing but a waste of time," he informed them.
"So, only certain people can use Keyblades?" Zack nodded.
"Strong willed, determined, pure hearted, or genuinely exceptional and unusual people can be chosen normally. It's not something we can ascertain ourselves though," he said as King Mickey looked to them.
"As time goes on, your worlds will also reveal the Keyblade belonging to your world as each one possesses one, and then hopefully, a Keyblade Bearer will rise as well, and they can lock the Keyhole of your world, ultimately decreasing the risk of the Heartless destroying the world."
"But, in the end, the situation remains the same. We cannot ensure that Xehanort or the Organization will wait for us to amass our forces, therefore, tomorrow, I ask we come together and select a specific group of individuals from each of our worlds to act as warriors who will both aid our members of the Coalition, and as ambassadors to your worlds as well."
{Dining Area: 9:50pm}
Noctis sighed, laying his head down on the table as he took his time unwinding after the stressful day. The meeting had been stressful, and while after Master Yen Sid's final statement that they would need to choose a practical champion for their worlds did make things complicated, just as he was certain it would be for himself or the others. Meanwhile, he was contemplating how the rest of their meeting would attend, and if anything else would be involved with tomorrow's conversation. Sighing, Noctis heard the sound of someone approach him and take a seat, the sound of a cup of coffee being poured coming to his attention before he looked up, being greeted by Giotto sitting there, observing him with a slight smile.
"You appear to be rather tired, perhaps retiring for the evening would be best for you," he offered as Noctis sat up, rubbing his face a bit before pouring himself a cup of coffee.
"No, I'm fine. My mind is to busy to sleep right now anyways." the blonde-haired man hummed.
"I see, though… I suppose it shouldn't surprise me. Your father was a thoughtful individual as well, much like your grandfather was," he stated as midnight-blue eyes glanced him over.
"So, you know about that then?" he received a slight nod.
"They were both good friends of myself and Simon. To hear of you being the last of the Caelum line, it was fairly disappointing and upsetting… nonetheless, my own concerns weigh upon me now. But, what will you do? Prince Noctis?" Giotto asked as Noctis shook his head.
"Got me beat there, I'm not sure what the Grand Master wants to do. I mean, hell, for all I know things going to implode on us in no time flat." the Mafia boss laughed.
"No, I wouldn't be worried. The Grand Master is a wise man, and he knows alliances must be forged in order for wars to be won. However, I do question what the answers of the others will be come tomorrow." Noctis eyed him.
"What about yourself? You're the founder of a powerful crime organization, surely you have a plethora of people to choose from," he noted as Giotto sighed.
"I intend to put forth someone of my own bloodline; however, I have don't have many people in my bloodline to select as the youngest member of my family who is in line to become the next leader, isn't quite of age yet for me to take action." Noctis rose an eyebrow.
"Oh, right, you guys are Magi. There's a rule that Magi of any degree cannot perform selective tasks outside of their homeworld or even certain ones within their homeworld until they're of age, which is fourteen, right?" he inquired as the blonde-haired man gave him a surprised look.
"My, you're well informed." Noctis shrugged.
"I'm supposed to become the King of Lucis, I have to know about the worlds I've allied myself with, and Magi aren't selective to only a few worlds. They're Interworld, and that includes Eos," he stated as Giotto hummed in thought.
"I suppose it shouldn't surprise me. After the collapse of the Kingdom, a lot of people spread out across the worlds, so races, culture, and abilities are no longer secluded to certain places." Noctis smiled.
"Honestly, it doesn't feel like a bad thing to me though, I mean, we're all diversified and unified by our differences and similarities. That makes our united from stronger my my opinion," he pointed out as Giotto sighed.
"You have a rather remarkable outlook on the worlds despite what you've endured. I think Lucis has found itself a very capable future King," he responded as Noctis took a sip of his coffee.
"On a side note, who were you considering as your candidate? I'm sure that the Master Yen Sid will have no qualms of waiting so long as you can substitute when needed." Giotto smiled.
"I don't have the slightest problem with it, as I'm sure you'll be doing the same?" he probed while the black-haired Prince nodded.
"Myself, and my three teammates can be trusted to handle this. Meanwhile, I have allies in Eos who can do as I delegate when needed. So, who will you be choosing?" the blonde-haired man glanced to the side.
"My grandson, Tsunayoshi Sawada. He may not know it, but he is quite the capable individual, given proper training, and when the time comes, I have just the tutor in mind."
