Underleague
Chapter 29
Author Notes: Another chapter just ready to go~ Sen wanted some catching up since its been so long so I managed to get this bad boy up and running. I know its been awhile so I am sorry on that. But-I still got it done!
Quality over quantity. Now if I could eventually complete said quantity by finishing some these stories. That'd be nice. *sigh* before anything else shout outs~
First off nerostar12, and DoomShadow88888 thank you so much for faving/following. Also thanks to mahtinimi, and jujubean0824 who followed! Guys the support has been awesome! I do not own Undertale or Pokemon~
3rd POV
This was it. Frisk took yet another step towards independence as a pokemon master in the making. She had said farewell to her family(until Robin was free of course...or until she was hungry.)
Had her team on hand-ready to continue in their training and exploring the icy terrain that was the Snowdin territory. The ten year old was even able to go to the store by herself and buy some items that she knew she was going to need.
Eve was nestled comfortably on Frisk's shoulder. Still feeling a little under the weather-but ready all the same to protect her trainer. The evolution pokemon kept her eyes peeled for Flowey as well.
She wouldn't have been surprised if the mischievous sunflora snuck out to follow and bully Frisk without the adults around. Fortunately however as the little brunette made her way to the forest, Eve found nothing resembling the rude little plant.
"Ok! Let's do this Eve!" Fist pumping the air, she was full of Determination and confidence. The young trainer had a game plan, was willing and capable to be stronger.
Frisk has seen first hand how strong her friends were. MK, Napstablook, her adopted brother Asriel. She wanted to catch up, to stand next to them. Despite the Pangoro incident...still wanted to go out there, explore, meet new friends and take in the various pokemon that inhabited this strange underground region.
...
So it's at this point in time that she couldn't help but hate her decision and regret any positive thoughts she had as she ran like a madman in the forest near Snowdin. Questioning why her luck was so bad and why bear pokemon hated her.
Her plan had originally been to get some training done with her team, and maybe make some new pokepals. Personally she was still dead set on getting a minior(the blasted things can't self destruct forever!) However that changed when she had stumbled across a poor sneezing little pokemon.
Cubchoo the chill pokemon and the pre-evolved form of Beartic. It's nose is always running, and is used to determine their health. If the mucus is watery it's ice type moves decrease as it shows it is not well.
Just as the pokedex showed, the little blue cub's nose was watery and the poor pokemon was whining as if in pain. So naturally Frisk approached the teddy pokemon, Eve in tow. Frisk had some potions on her, using it might help the cubchoo. At least that's what her hope was.
That became a huge mistake as a giant roar pounded through the trainer's eardrums. Automatically the ten year old flinched in fear, panic set in as she swiveled her head all around, searching for the source of the menacing sound. Her pokedex chiming in with the recent arrival.
Beartic the freezing pokemon, and the evolved form of Cubchoo. Living in cold habitats, this pokemon can form claws and fangs by freezing it's breath to attack prey. They also tend to be VERY protective of their offspring.
Not even a second after reading the entry, Frisk ran for the hills, Eve embedding her claws into her owner's coat as the giant eight-foot bear chased her away. "AHHHHHHH!" She was really starting to get tired of running away, actually she was tired of running into scary bear pokemon.
"A-A-Allen, teleport us into Snowdin!" She doesn't even toss the ball, fearing her abra would get attacked. "Aaaaabra." Now fully refreshed, he nods as he latches onto her head, zapping her away just as the aggressive beartic leaped.
In a matter of seconds Frisk and her two pokemon found themselves in the nice lively town that was Snowdin. Giving her a chance to catch her breath and take a moment to calm down.
The sound of kids playing about was a great relief and soothed her fear as she waited. After about twenty minutes or so just sitting there and losing the adrenaline rush she stood, Eve glued to her shoulder and Allen already back in his pokeball.
Shakily she walks around, taking in the sights of the little stores and people. "Frisk sweety are you alright?" One particular, familiar voice catches her attention. "Ms. Rosemary!"
The sweet older woman smiles kindly, though surprised to see the ten year old alone. And talking no less. It really hasn't felt all that long since the old shopkeeper met the little girl.
"Where's your friends?" Bending her head down, Frisk moves the snow around her with her foot. "Napsta is having his gym battle with Mr. Robin while everyone else is with mom at Papyrus's house. I thought I could go do some training in the forest but...I got chased by a beartic."
A small whine escapes from the brunettes' shoulder. Poor Eve was starting to hate bear pokemon too. Rosemary couldn't help but have sympathy for the pair. Unlike regular wild bear pokemon beartics don't tend to hibernate. Making them more aggressive and territorial.
For a moment the store owner ponders, wondering what she could do to cheer up the dears. "Hmm I see. Well why don't you come help me? I need to collect some berries for baking. Strength in numbers as they say!" Frisk eagerly grasped Rosemary's hand.
"Sure!" Immediately she felt better knowing she had someone with her. Were it not for the terrible ice bear...she wouldn't be as scared. But after about a minute or two a thought comes to her. "Wait. How can berries grow? Isn't it too cold?"
Back when she was on the surface she remembered how harsh the winter months could be. Almost nothing grew, and even if it did, it eventually got covered with ice and snow. Making it hard for the farmers in her town to make food and money.
"Down here is a bit different. There's a smart girl named Alphys who is working part time as a scientist. She and a few others had gone about and made it so food would grow easier here in Snowdin." It was far more complicated then her explanation.
However it was enough for Frisk, who thought it was incredible. "Really?" Rosemary herself didn't know the details. Her education back when she was Frisk's age was certainly outdated, technology has advanced quite a bit as the years went on. So much has changed.
A small tug on her hand brought her out of her thoughts. "So is your store closed now since you're with me?" Smiling the aged lady looks onward. "Yes for now. But my husband and my employee Temy are there holding down the fort until I return to reopen." A roar suddenly echoed through the forest.
"Oh no..." Frisk whimpers as she hides behind Rosemary's skirt. It was the beartic. Probably ready for round two. Though her companion didn't think that was a case. Something seemed odd.
Now she's been wrong before, but she remembered her days going for walks and girls day out with Toriel. Often times they saw the wildlife of Snowdin-beartics especially and that didn't sound like a warning roar over intruders in its territory.
No. It sounded like a cry of pain. As if it was hurt. Which in itself wasn't right. There weren't too many pokemon that could or Would pick a fight with them. With a steely gaze Rosemary continues forward, Frisk reluctantly following with her hand still holding on tightly.
"Like hold still you stupid gross cub. Ugh any day now Catty!" The pair gasp at the sight before them. "Chill out Bratty! It's like totally not easy setting up this cage thingy. These instructions are so hard to read." The beartic was roaring from within a cage.
Trapped and forced to watch as its baby was being handled roughly by Team Gold Digger. Inhaling Rosemary shouted, truly enraged with what she was seeing. "Hey! What do you think you doing!?" The two girls were startled, practically jumped at Rosemary's harsh tone.
So much so that the little cubchoo managed to wiggle out of Bratty's grasp. That freedom was short lived though as their gothita used its psychic powers to keep the small ice pokemon in the air. "Cubchooo!" It starts crying, dribbling more icy snot.
"Let those pokemon go Now!" Both girls laugh-not at all intimidated by an old lady and little kid. Together they hold hands, grinning mischievous grins at the two ladies. It was time for their second intro-performance~
"Shall we Catty?"
"Ready when you are Bratty~"
Bratty: Time to take it from the top.
Catty: Yeah we totally ain't gonna stop.
Bratty: This is Bratty~
Catty: And this is Catty and you better get some help stat!
Bratty: Because we'll take it all, it don't matter who you call!
Catty: We're perfection in every state, sucks to be you hun, please don't hate.
Both: We're team gold digger, and we got our eyes on the prize~
With a final pose the two women high ten each other, smiling in triumph. "Aha~ That was like totally awesome. We finally got that one motto down Catty~" Frisk could only frown next to Rosemary as the bad guys go off on their little conversation.
"Yeah girl~ Though as like amazing as doing that one was. I still kinda like miss the first one we memorized and did. I mean it took us forever to get the choreography down you know?"
to be continued
Author Notes: So we're ending it right here for now. I know I'm way late with the updating but at least I got this down. A lots been going on what can I say? But I FINALLY get to bring in the beartic~ I'm so mean, though having it involved as a victim was an after thought.
A good one I must admit, and I'm glad since I was able to lengthen the chapter a little bit as well as explain why it decided to go chasing after Frisk. Now I was tempted to do a mini bonus chapter but I think I'll wait till the next one.
Give me something to really look forward to...especially since Sen really wants me to try and make a game based on this. (Psss I really want to but graaa) Anyways thanks everyone for your patience, and if you like this series please feel free to fav/follow/review as I love and appreciate all the support I get on this.
You have no idea how many years Sen and I have struggled to make a pokemon story we like and seeing people enjoy it as much as we do really brightens our day! Ok so enough with the sentiments I'm ending it here. Tchao for now!
