A/N: Hello. Its been a long, long, looonnnng time. Haha. I apologize that it has taken me this long to update. I hope I can keep working on this store.

This Chapter might flow a little differently. As I started it after Chapter Twenty-Seven, & my writing style might be changed/rusty.

Thank you to everyone who has been reading, & reviewing. I hope this Chapter is satisfying, though many might not like it much. Haha.

Anyways, I don't own anything but the OC/s & added plot.

Chapter Twenty-Eight

After the Birthday party and girl's night, things went back to normal for me. I had school, homework, time with my friends and, of course, Godric. Only I began to spend more time with Patrick. Before I knew it, he had asked me out on a few dates, which had been great. First date: lunch and a long walk at a lovely park. Second date: dinner and a movie. Third date: a local carnival kind of thing. Four: dinner and movies at his house. Five: a road trip to the next town over, dinner and arcade games.

With every date things just seemed to get better. I saw how sweet a guy Patrick was. Sure, he was a goofball, but there were those solid moments where he could be a true gentleman. And with the end of every date – that was when he would take me home – we would end it with a light, chaste kiss. Not once did he push for any other kind kiss. Nor did he do anything that would make me uncomfortable. I could see myself falling for this sweet guy. But – there's always a but – walking through those doors of my home I would be greeted by Godric, or something to remind me of him. And those feelings would bang against the wall I had created, begging to come forth. Guilt would slowly creep into me, making me feel like I was cheating on Godric. But why? There was nothing romantic between us, as much as I wanted there to be.

So, I continued to see Patrick. Even though it messed with my feelings. I had to push forward. And Patrick was forward. I even thought that as he soon asked me to be his girlfriend. I accepted. At first, I didn't want to accept it, but I thought about the time we had spent together and how sweet he was. I was now Patrick's girlfriend. Lisa was thrilled, and I think Chris was too. Everyone at school slowly began to know, and I found myself meeting new people and getting to know them. Pat had opened doors to new social groups. It was all so enlightening.

Oh, Eric and Godric seemed to get use to the idea of me being in a relationship. Initially Eric was against it a hundred percent, even said he would have words with Patrick. Eric took on the over protective – but slightly murderous – older brother. It was a little scary but I told him to not even dare say a word to Patrick, or else. He just scoffed at my words, probably thinking I would do nothing. Godric was different. He never said a word to start with, a blank look upon his face. When I went on a few dates he had asked how it went, what we did and seemed to be interested. He did voice his concerns but never took them too far. He was respecting my decisions. But now there was nothing.

That night, after telling them about the relationship, I went to Godric's room. With a knock to his door, and a pause waiting for him to respond, I entered his room and closed the door. He was sitting on his bed, book in hand. He looked up from said book after I entered. Without a word Godric patted the spot next to him on the bed. And I didn't take much time to take the spot.

"What are you reading?" I inquired leaning back against the head of his bed.

"Just some poetry" he replied marking the page and closing the book. "But I doubt you are here to talk about a book, yes?"

I laughed softly. "As always you are right. I came to talk to you about, well my decision to be Patrick's girlfriend."

"It is none of my business to whom you have a relationship with Fay."

"But it kind of does Godric" I said taking his hand. "I live here with you and Eric. And I know you want me to be happy and safe. So, knowing who I am seeing is important. Eric wanted to know everything about Patrick, don't you?"

He shook his head. "It is not my place. So, long as he makes you happy, that is all I care about."

I frowned. "I get that. But I want you to know. I would like to share my thoughts and feelings with you. Will you let me?"

Reluctantly Godric nodded his head. And I smiled squeezing his hand. I then started to tell him about my boyfriend. How I had initially been unsure about going out with him, which surprised Godric, to how he was sweet and gentle, never pushing me to do anything. I could tell that relieved Godric of some worry. I said that he treated me like I was the only woman on the planet.

"I am glad this boy is respectful of you. If he wasn't I may have to side with Eric" Godric teased.

I nudged his shoulder with my own. "Yeah, well you both would have to wait till I was done punching him if he ever tried anything with me that I didn't like."

We laughed before settling into silence. My Godric was back. How could I call him 'my' Godric? After all he wasn't. Nor was I his Fay. I was just a friend. Something he held dearly without no romantic intentions. And I was now Patrick's 'Eliza'. No more words about my relationship were spoken. Instead Godric asked if I would like to hear some poetry, to which I said would be nice. So, curled up next to Godric, I listened to his calming and alluring voice recite the poetry he had been reading before I came to his room.

After that night things were normal. But it changed when I got a part-time job at Merlotte's. Sookie had helped set it up for me, and Sam seemed to be grateful for the help. And earning my own money felt good. I felt like I was contributing to society. Silly, I know. It was at Merlotte's that I met Arlene Fowler and Lafayette, two completely different kind of people. Arlene could be snarky about things, but rather nice. I also found out the children with Sam that time at Fangtasia were hers. Lafayette was fierce and sassy, but also wise in his own way. Not to mention rather sexual about almost everything. But all up I like him, and found talking to be him so easy. We have had so many interesting conversations. Before I knew it, I had been working there for over a month.

Patrick, Lisa and Chris would come to Merlotte's once a week when I was working. Which was nice. Sookie got to meet them and got to know them. And when I say got to know, she would read their minds from time to time. She told me things I didn't know, or what to know. And after scolding her on doing it, she didn't mention anything else. Until one night, after my boyfriend and friends had left. It was just about closing time, and we had one couple left in the place. I was at the bar cleaning menus while Sookie was refilling salt and pepper shakers.

"That Patrick" she said getting my attention. "He really likes you."

"Huh?" I said looking at the woman next to me.

"Patrick really likes you. I read it in his mind" she replied matter-o-factly.

"Mmhmm" said Lafayette coming over to the bar and getting a shot of whatever. "Baby girl you don't have to be able to read that boys mind to know that."

I shook my head and laughed. "Please, we have only been in an official relationship for just over two months. He can't be that serious."

Both Sookie and Lafayette shared a look. "He does" they both said at the same time.

"But I sense that your heart ain't fully into it" Lafayette said raising his hand and staring at me. "There's someone else?"

"Sookie did you tell him?!" I said nudging the woman, who laughed.

"No child, she didn't tell me" Lafayette said before taking another shot. "I had a feeling after seeing you with that Vampire that came in the other night, the cute one who looks too young for me but ain't."

I was dumbfounded. Sookie was full on laughing at my facial expression. "You do cheer up when he is around" she said cleaning up the counter where some pepper had spilled.

"I do?" I inquired thinking back to Godric's visit. He had shown up early to pick me up, and decided to wait for my shift to be over. I don't think I had acted any different.

"Look," Lafayette said drawing my attention back to him. "When your boyfriend and friends come around you are sweet and nice and happy. But when that Vampire showed up it was like Christmas mornin' had arrived. Your smile was full beam. I'd say you got it bad, girl."

I shook my head. "No, I'm not like that."

"Yes, you are" came the added voice of Arlene as she placed a tray of empty glasses on the bar. "And I have seen it too. Just make sure you don't hurt either of them, or yourself sugar."

Lafayette nodded. "I have to agree with her, best be care." With that he went back into the kitchen with a shot in both hands.

Arlene also went back to cleaning up tables. I can understand where they are coming from on hurting them or myself. But do I really light up around Godric? Will I ever be like that around Patrick? Hopefully, its still early days for us.

"You're right give it sometime Eliza" comment Sookie after reading my thoughts. "Just make sure you talk to Patrick, and make sure he is on the same page as you."

I gave her a sharp look for reading my mind, but the gave her a soft smile. "I know Sook, I promise I will."

After that Sookie gathered up all the Salt and Pepper shakers on a tray before taking them back to their rightful tables. Once I was finished with the menus, the last couple were on their way to pay and leave, I went to gather up the plates, cups and cutlery. Arlene said she would fix up the table while I take them out to the kitchen and take out the trash. Upon entering the kitchen, I was greeted to Lafayette and his dancing, which made me giggle.

"Come on now baby girl" called Lafayette. "Show me what your got."

I laughed shaking my head. "No way!"

"I ain't taking no for an answer" he replied turning up the volume of the radio and grabbing my hands.

Awkwardly Lafayette push and pulled my arms, moving me around the kitchen. Slowly I got into it. And soon we were both singing along and dancing around the room. I looked to the doorway when I heard Sookie's laughter, and then she moved on after seeing what all the noise was.

"Okay, okay Lafayette!" I said breaking away from the sassy man. "I need to take the trash out. Do you have any that has to be taken out?"

He continued to dance around but pointed to the corner, where a few bags laid. Thanking him I grabbed them and headed out the back to the dumpster. I really do like this job. Sure, the customers can be draining and infuriating, but there were also some amazing customers, and the people I work with are great. I could still hear the music coming from the kitchen when I walked out the back door, and without thinking I hummed and danced down the stairs. I continued to hum and dance over to the dumpster without a care in the world.

"Evening Little One" came a calm, familiar voice that startled me and I dropped the trash bags.

"Oh my gosh!" I breathlessly said holding a hand over my heart while looking at Godric. "Don't do that!"

He chuckled. "Sorry Little One, old habits die hard."

I lightly hit him on the arm. "Vampires and their sneaky ways" I laughed going to grab the trash bags before the sneaky Vampire beat me to it. "I can do that Godric."

"I know, but you shouldn't have to" he said tossing them into the dumpster with ease. "As I have told you, you don't need to work. I am happy to make sure you have what you need."

"Yes, and you know I couldn't take your money, or Eric's" I replied with a soft smile. "I want to make my own way in this big, messed up world."

Godric nodded. "I know you do Little One. And I will be here to help you where I can."

"Thank you Godric" I said smiling brightly.

I invited Godric inside, as there was still some time left before my shift was over. The music was still pumping from the kitchen and walking past the kitchen I could see Lafayette shaking it while cleaning the grill. Coming back into the bar and dining area I offered to get Godric a True Blood, which he accepted, while I finished cleaning up.

Once everything was done, and it was time to clock off, I followed Godric out the back door. Lafayette and Arlene waved and didn't hang around to long. Sookie took a moment to run over my next week shifts, there had been a few changes but nothing drastic.

"Have a nice night you too" she said before driving off.

Both Godric and I waved to her before heading to the waiting car. Always the gentleman Godric opened the door for me, and I thanked him sliding into the backseat before he got in and closed the door. With that the driver pulled out of Merlotte's.

"How was your night? Hopefully it was a pleasant one" Godric asked warmly.

I nodded my head, "it was pleasant. There were a couple of parties that were borderline nightmare, but we managed."

Godric nodded. "That is good. I know this job is a good learning experience in patience."

I laughed. "That's an understatement."

We shared a laugh before settling into a comfortable silence. While sitting in the moving car the day had finally caught up to me, and I can honestly say I was looking forward to bed. Yet I still couldn't help but think over the conversation with Lafayette, Sookie and Arlene. Maybe I did brighten up when Godric was around, but honestly, I just enjoyed his company and how calm he made me. But I need to give Patrick and myself more time, see how things go.
