Hey guys! This one is suggested by turtleluvs: can you do one where the turtles are going into space and Raph gets motion sick?

Enjoy xx

Motion Sick

Space is not what Raph thought it would be.

He thought it would be cool, fun and constant adventures! He thought he'd have adrenaline gushing through his veins 24/7 and that the excitement would never end.

He was wildly wrong.

Space was big. Like, SUPER BIG! It was big, empty, cold, dark, scary and lonely. Nothing like he originally thought.

His brothers don't seem to be disappointed, however.

Leonardo keeps quoting space heroes while dashing around with Mikey and Donatello was asking the Fugitiod 3000 questions a day!

Raphael just felt sick, sick at the way the ship moves through space and the constant humming of the engine. He felt sick with fear and loneliness every time he looked out that damn window into the never-ending void.

Space was too empty. Too cold and dark.

Raphael couldn't stand it!

But he wasn't going to ruin it for his brothers.

Yeah, he was having nightmares every night. Dreaming of something going wrong with the ship (a.k.a the one thing keeping them alive). Yes, he figured he'd never forget the awful feeling of being stuck in the middle of an unforgiving emptiness, the naked vulnerability of it all.

And yeah, he felt so, so sick and miserable.

But he wasn't going to show it.

He'd smirk and smile at his brothers as he usually would, he'd act like his usual self and his brothers would continue loving space.

He was ok with that.

But his brothers aren't stupid, he knows this. They were bound to find out eventually.

He just didn't realise it would get this bad.

"Relax, it's ok" Leo soothes as he rubs Raph's shell, "I don't think anything else is gonna come up"

Raph closed his eyes in embarrassment, he had literally just thrown up in his bed. The mix of motion sickness and his nightmare had caused his stomach to flip before he could get to the bathroom. Now the boys were sitting on the couch, April had dragged Casey away due to his mocking laughter.

Raph put down the bucket gently, only Leonardo and Mikey were by his side. He didn't know where Donnie had disappeared off to.

"You feeling ok now Raphie?" Mikey asked worriedly,

"A little yeah" Raph breathes, he hates himself right now.

"Why didn't you tell us you were feeling sick?" Leo scolds gently,

"Because he's been feeling sick since he got here" Donnie announces as he enters the room with a pill bottle. "I figured at least one of us wouldn't agree with space, I just thought it would be Mikey"

"So… It's motion sickness?" Leo asks as he studies the bottle Don hands to Raph.

"Yup! Here Raphie, just one a day should keep the sickness away" The brainy turtle smiles as Raph swallows one pill. "Sorry I didn't notice earlier"

"I'm sorry I didn't say anything" Raph sighs, "I just didn't want to be a downer"

"You're always a downer!" Mikey jokes but withers at his eldest brother's glare.

"Ignore Mikey" Leo nods, "You're allowed to not feel well in space! This feels weird and a lot of people would feel the same as you, it's ok"

Raph nods as his brothers continue to comfort him.

The sickness does lessen, and he never throws up again, but the nightmares continue. The pills don't change how terrified he feels being somewhere he knows he never should have been.

Turtles weren't made for space travel.

Yet he's content. His brothers think he's better; they feel they helped him, and Raphael wasn't going to take that away from them.

He'd live with his fear; he'd deal with it on his own and if he cries a little when they're finally back on earth… well…

That's ok too.
